A/N: It's Klonnie Week 2021. I was feeling nostalgic. I've had this idea for this chapter for a long long time. I gave it a go. Please excuse grammatical errors.

.11 Fire and Desire
...You showed me what a love could do
Fire and desire, baby
-Rick James and Teena Marie
Bonnie drove up to the babysitters, her heart beating out of her chest. When she called twenty minutes ago, she got no answer. Bonnie stared out of her windshield, the door was charred and barely hanging on by one hinge. Bonnie jumped out of the car before it stopped moving and charged into the building. "Meg!" Bonnie yelled moving through the first floor. She heard crying and turned towards that sound. She found Megan's prone body over the three children in her care. The babies really started crying when they saw Bonnie. Their faces were already stained with tears. "Shh Shh," Bonnie cooed, moving Meg's body, tears streaming down her face. An audible sob burst from her chest when she got Meg on the floor. Ella was gone. Her car seat empty, only her stuffed wolf remained. Bonnie checked Meg's pulse to keep from going crazy. She was alive.
Bonnie tried to comfort the other children, as she pulled out her phone. She tickled their little feet. "I need you," Bonnie said into the phone.
"What is it now? I sent the payment," he answered her.
"Get your ass here, now!" Bonnie screamed into the phone. The babies stopped whining, staring up at Bonnie through tears. "Someoneā¦" Bonnie sobbed. "Someone took Ella." She hung up and dialed Matt. He was the law in town and would allow her to do what she needed. She cast a healing scry. She needed to know what happened. Who did this? Where her baby girl- Meg was fine or she would be when the spell she got whammied with wore off.
She had left him, blown up her life to protect Ella from this, and the shit show still found her, and now her baby girl. She would make them pay. She would reign fire down on whoever did this, and then she would hand them over to her baby's daddy.
She took each child out of their car seat and held them close as they cried, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Bonnie said over and over, trying to rock them to sleep, wishing she was holding her baby girl. Three babies had just been traumatized because she wanted her Ella to have a normal life. She wanted her baby to grow up in a house without a torture chamber in the basement. Every part of her wanted to cast, but she couldn't make these babies relive the trauma they had clearly just gone through.
She turned her phone ringer up as loud as it would go. There would be a ransom. There had to be a ransom. They better ask for a ransom; the alternative was unthinkable. Bonnie would cook their brains in their skull.

Caroline and Tyler walked Meg's house. They were seeing what they could smell and see with their collective heightened senses. Tyler smelled hyacinth and coffee, it was throwing off his sense of smell. Caroline smelled and found blood, but she could also smell the verbane in it. If she touched it she would fry. Lucy was trying to coax Meg's memory out from under the confusion charm.
Bonnie still couldn't cast because Matt and his clueless deputies were outside. She had to wait until they locked down the scene and come back tonight if Tyler and Caro couldn't find anything useful. She could feel when he arrived. The police officers tried to stop him at the perimeter, and he didn't even pretend to care about hiding their supernatural gifts. There was yelling, and guns being drawn, and then a body crashing to a police cruiser. Bonnie's curls stirred in the hurricane that was Niklaus Mikaelson.
"How could you let this happen!" Nik yelled into her face. "I'm the bad influence? I'm a terrible father? I'm the monster? She would be here- safe if you wouldn't have run off."
Bonnie sobbed, tears streaming down her face. Lucy went over and hugged her cousin. "Leave her alone," Caroline growled. Tyler's eyes were already yellow.
"Brother, perhaps this is not the best recourse to find your missing daughter," Elijah said.
Klaus looked away from her. He tried to ignore her cries. "What have you found?" Klaus said, turning to Caroline and Tyler. The duo were guns for hire in the supernatural world and had solved a lot of crimes together. "There's blood," Caroline said. Klaus smelled it as soon as she said it. He walked over to the drop of blood. "It has verbane in it and something else. I'm waiting for Matt to be free to run," Caroline tried.
Klaus leaned down and touched the blood. It sizzled on his skin. He put his finger in his mouth and tasted it and dropped to the floor desiccating. "The doppelganger," Klaus gasped and then turned a sickly gray.
Bonnie sighed, taking the tissue Tyler offered her. She wiped her tears and walked over to the man on the floor and stared down at him. She could stake him and be done with him, but he was right. He was a monster, a monster that got shit done, and her daughter's father. She couldn't be selfish.
"Bonnie, please," Elijah said, looking over to the witch. Bonnie huffed and magic flowed out of her and streamed towards Klaus's middle. The magic had one job, to root out the poisons and verbane in his body. Klaus began to shake, his body sweating, excising the poison until there was a verbane laced mist floating above his body. Lucy pulled a vial from her bag and used a small cyclone spell to siphon the mist into the bottle.
Klaus's skin began to pinken and his eyes opened slowly. "Looks like you're all better," Bonnie croaked. Her voice was raw from all the crying. "Ostende mihi primum," Bonnie chanted. Lucy grabbed her hand and chanted with her, "Ostende mihi primum." Everyone watched as footsteps appeared on the floor. The spell was capturing residual magic left by the doppelganger. "Let's go get our daughter."

Of course, Amara was holed up in some tired old farmhouse. Every version of this woman got on Bonnie's last nerve. Bonnie had to admit Katherine had been the best of them, and that's not saying a lot. Once again, Bonnie was hopping out of a car before it was in park. Caroline yelped as the witch bounded towards the house. She was almost to the step when she was knocked back by Klaus. The dart hit him in the heart. He pulled it from his chest and glared at Bonnie. She pursed her lips, but proceeded slowly into the building, keeping an eye for booby traps.
The door exploded inward from Bonnie power. She walked over the debris in the threshold, as Klaus followed. Caroline and Tyler went around back. Elijah and Rebekah stood guard in case someone tried to make a run for it. "Upstairs," Klaus said, sniffing the air. He jumped and landed on the second floor landing. Bonnie took the stairs two at a time. Klaus kicked in the door and found himself staring aghast at the scene inside, trying to make sense of it. Bonnie came up behind him and screeched to a halt. Ella's big blue eyes were wet from crying, but the rest of her was covered in soot. Bonnie teared up when her baby girl smiled at her. Klaus smiled back. Klaus and Bonnie walked slowly over to their daughter who was sitting beside the charred remains of Amara.
"Is that my baby?" Bonnie cooed. Ella babbled at her mama, raising her arms. Bonnie picked her up with a smile, kissing her filth covered face. Klaus kicked Amara's body and it disintegrated.
"It seems she has my temper," Klaus said, playing with the curls on the back of Ella's head and rubbing her back.
"Da Da," Ella said, reaching for her father.
"Hello, Buttercup. Did you miss your daddy?" Klaus said, taking her from Bonnie and lavishing her with kisses. Ella giggled. Bonnie watched the two of them before she bent down to examine the body.
"Take her outside," Bonnie said. Klaus looked at the witch, but went out onto the landing as Bonnie cast the time reversal spell. Nik handed Ella off to Rebekah. He came back into the room. Bonnie grabbed Klaus's hand as they watched their daughter defend herself. Both of their eyes shined with pride as Ella attacked Amara when she was least expecting it. Klaus was focused on the deviousness of it, Bonnie on her raw power. They looked at each other and smiled.
"She's something, just like her father," Bonnie said.
"A nightmare," Klaus grinned. He squeezed her hand tighter. "I shouldn't have yelled at you before. It wasn't your fault."
"It wasn't?" Bonnie sniffed.
"No. I know you would never do anything to hurt our daughter. I was afraid and"
"Still mad at me for leaving."
"I understand why you left. We are always looking over our shoulders. I deal with the most despicable people in the world, but I can protect you. If today proves anything, it's that we're better together," Klaus said.
"I never doubted you could protect us, but I wanted her to have a normal life, but I see that isn't possible now. Magic and the supernatural are going to follow us no matter where we go," Bonnie said.
"Normal is boring, Love. Happy should be the goal, whatever form that takes," Klaus said. He kissed her hand, "We were happy, right?"
"Yes, when you weren't being pulled every which way. We were very happy," Bonnie said. "I wanted...I asked you to come with us."
"And I asked you to stay."
"You demanded I stay," Bonnie reminded him. They fought constantly after Ella was born. Those last few days reminded her of when she wanted to kill him and tried. She never wanted to hurt Klaus or take his daughter away. She was just trying to protect her baby girl, to save her from the utter pain this life could be.
"I did, but now I am asking you to come home. I will move out of the compound. The only vampires, witches, and hybrids she will see on a regular basis are our family and friends."
"You love the compound," Bonnie said.
"I do, but I love you and Ella more. I'll keep my office there. You heard her, she misses her Da Da."
Bonnie snorted at that. She looked up into his eyes, "You know, I kind of missed him too," Bonnie admitted.

It had been six months and everything had been going good. Was it perfect? No, but perfect was boring. Klaus had built Bonnie the country home of her dreams. They moved into a small town right outside of Nawlins, and even found a part time babysitter with magic, so Bonnie could run her and Lucy's new apothecary. Bonnie went home to check on the baby one afternoon and her nanny was babbling nonsensically. Ella was having fun mimicking the sounds, but Bonnie was worried. Once she cast the healing scry, she was furious.
"You can not compel her babysitters," Bonnie yelled, pacing in their bedroom later that night.
"Actually I can," Klaus said from the bed.
"We discussed this," Bonnie hissed.
"Yes, we did, when I told you I will protect you and her."
"And I told you, I wanted her to have a normal life!" Bonnie yelled. "A babysitter giving in to her every whim and desire is not normal. Candice didn't sleep last night because she was up making cupcakes for our daughter. The day before she was up all night searching for the perfect pony to buy with her credit card. She hasn't slept in a week."
"I don't see the problem," Klaus said.
"Of course you don't," Bonnie said, throwing her hands in the air.
Klaus chuckled. "I'll choose my words more carefully next time," Klaus said.
"Thank you," Bonnie fumed. Klaus grinned at her, winking. Bonnie narrowed her eyes at him, "Your unbelievable. You want sex now?"
"If history is any indication, I think we both want sex now."
"Unbelievable," Bonnie said.
"I can give into your every whim and desire, Darling," Klaus purred. Bonnie ignored him changing into her nightgown. "I think our little tyke needs a little brother to boss around."
"You do, huh?" Bonnie said. "That sounds like your whims and desires."
"Your my whims and desires," Klaus said, speeding over to her, scooping her up, and depositing her in the bed. "Tell me your heart's desire, My Love," Nick said.
"You," Bonnie answered. He kissed into her skin, played in her hair, and made love to her until she was shaking.
Hope you enjoyed it!
