A/N: So, I decided to do a time Skip and do flash backs maybe doing that will help me write longer chapters this chapter is mostly chuck and Sarah meeting again doing flashbacks of chuck and Ellie meeting their father and maybe some of chuck working out and training. Chapter 5

September 18 2007

Chuck awoke with excitement in his brown eyes it was his birthday and that meant it was almost time to meet Sarah once again. He got out of bed eager to start his bathroom to take a shower with a skip in his step. You could see his body practically vibrate with anticipation. the smile never left his face through the entire shower. Chuck finished his shower wiping the mirror off taking a look at himself. He was still his six-foot four self but the rest of his body had changed he was no longer the lanky nerd anymore thanks to Devon and a lot of hard work. All his work paid off his more toned body and ripped than ever before. He wasn't a body builder spending time on muscle beach. (picture Zachary in shazam) Thanks to Devon and Ellie for helping him eat right he was in the best shape of his life which would be coming in handy with the spy life just on the horizon. Chuck thinks back about the day it all started.

(flashback)

The day after meeting with his father Awesome burst into his room waking him. The early morning sun barely breaking through his window

"Up and at 'em chuck we are wasting day light bro" Devon spoke enthusiastically carrying two green beverages. He always wanted to get chuck to work out with him to build up his confidence again to help him become more awesome yes Deveon had real brothers but they haven't been close in a while. It may not be official yet but he always considered chuck his brother sometimes he felt Chuck crimped his style when it came to Ellie but he Knew they were a close family that relied on each other as safety nets always being there for one another. He knew chuck was never a confident man even before Stanford but after he was broken and lost. Now he had the chance to help him and he was looking forward to his time with chuck maybe he can get chuck to join him on some of his awesome adventures.

"Devon are you serious the suns barely out it's too early for this." chuck grumbled covering his head with his blanket trying to get rid of Devon even though he knew it was impossible.

"come on bro a nice run will get the blood pumping and I also got us some ginseng protein shakes they been used for thousands of years to promote yang energy and let me tell you bro it does wonders for your wang energy" Devon spoke as he tore the sheet away from chuck.

"OK Devon I am up as much as I would like to take a shower now, I'll get one after we finish our run." Chuck said hopping out of bed and downing Awesomes green concoction know every little bit help no matter how horrible it tastes.

"All right Bro ill met you out side" Devon head outside leaving chuck with his thoughts no matter how much he didn't want to get out of bed he gave his word and his mind was made up to get in shape changing into some shorts and t-shirt he heads out. Devon decides to get Chuck to stretch so he doesn't pull anything. After the stretching is done, they head out for their run.

An hour later come Devon jogging into the court yard sopping near the fountain looking behind hi waiting for chuck to appear. He smiles as Chuck stumbles in looking out of breath looking half dead "Hey chuck you did great bro it's your first day running and you knocked out a few miles." said Devon while holding his hand up waiting for a high five.

Chuck staggers forward to give him the high five after he sits down at the fountain in the middle of the court yard. Thanks Devon I appreciate you helping me out with this." chuck says while trying to catch his breath he never realized how out of shape he was and just how awesome Devon is.

"Come on chuck you can't rest you have to stretch again so you don't cramp up. Just to let you know I already created a workout schedule for use to stick to. We are going to work out four days of week and we will work on your cardio for the other three days. Don't we will work out about an hour and half every day. How's that sound to you?" said Devon as he walked chuck through the stretches.

"Thanks Devon that sound good to me. I know you're going to be busy with your work schedule so I'm thankful for you taking your time to do this for me. I know this is what I want to do. I am actually looking forward to getting in shape." chuck spoke the gratitude seeped from his voice even though he felt like he was going to die.

End flash back

Chuck still had a smile on his face as he changed getting ready for work dawning his white button up and grey tie reaching for his pocket protector. He was feeling great thanks to Devon's help he feels great He knows Sarah will be in for a surprise he knows that the picture in his file will be hid old buy more picture. God, it felt good to be in shape he finally confident with his body and looks but there has been a down side to it for the first month it was Ellie trying to get him to go on dates with her coworkers. Then there was Morgan. After he Started working out Morgan was complaining about the changes, he was making but he could see the benefits of Chuck's new physique with the ladies when they went out to the clubs sadly Morgan didn't know about his future plans as much as he loved Morgan, he couldn't keep a secret to save his life chuck remembered Sarah telling him how Morgan slipped about his proposal plan.

Chuck finally ready for work made his way to the dining room spotting his sister and Devon at the table with breakfast his plate already made and his morning protein shake he quickly downed it he still couldn't get used to the taste the smile on his sister's face as he drank it was huge. He smiled back at them sat down to eat his breakfast. "Good morning sis Devon so a little birdy told me about a party tonight." chuck said smiling looking at his sisters pout and Devon smile.

"Chuck let me guess it was a little bearded bird that told you about this party. It was supposed to be a surprise. You know I invited real life women for you Chuck." said Ellie

"Sis I know who you invited but you see sis they are your friends, me and Morgan don't fit in with all your doctor friends maybe we could invite some of my friends?" chuck asked "you know Ellie I don't want to date anyone right know but I got a feeling that might change soon." chuck shared a smile with his sister. That got him thinking about their trip to see their dad.

Flashback

A few days after Christmas he pulled Ellie out into the court Yard and they sat down at the fountain. He was a little nervous but he pushed that out of his mind.

"Ellie, I know your surprised with my change of behavior recently and I would like to talk to you about it but not today, I was hoping sometime this coming moth say the seventeenth of January you and I just make it a day to hang out and talk how's that sound to you?"

"OK Chuck ill make sure I have that day off because we really need to talk cause now your Kinda freaking me out right now and you know we don't keep stuff from each other."

"I know sis and all will be explained on that day I would tell you now but trust me we don't have enough time. Just know sis I don't like keeping things from you but you just have to trust me." chuck spoke firmly

January 17 2007

Chuck woke up early hoping Ellie was already awake so they could start their day together Chuck took a shower and got breakfast waiting for his sister finally Ellie shows up "Good morning sis you ready for today?"

"Yeah, Chuck I am ready for some answers."

"You will get all your answers today sis that and more that I promise." chuck spoke he pulled up the sleeve of his shirt and contacted his father through his wrist computer. Chuck smiled to Ellie he was finally happy that he will be able to tell her the truth but he was worried about her reaction he knew she would explode at both his father and him. "Alright Ellie how do you feel about taking a drive this is kind of a show and tell kind of adventure.?"

"Sure, Chuck let's get going "Ellie replied grabbing her purse heading to the door. Chuck follows Ellie out towards his car. Chuck took off to his father's trailer.

The ride was quiet Ellie's mind was on overdrive. To her chuck had changed a lot over the last month while she was happy that he was finally gaining confidence in himself. To her he was finally over Stanford and Jill it's like he was back to the old Chuck he not as insecure as he was. It seems now he was finally on his way to on with his five-year plan. She was happy for him but she still wanted answers she has a ton of questions for Chuck but she knew he could be stubborn and hold off answering her.

Chuck was thankful for the quiet. He was able to get his thoughts together. He was wondering how to explain everything she was going to be shocked when his dad opens the door. Shook his head trying to shake his worries form his thoughts luckily for him they made it to their destination he looked over to his sister and can see the confusion on her face.

"Chuck what are we doing here who lives here?" Ellie spoke confusion all across her face

"Ellie come on all your questions will be answered just follow me." chuck spoke getting out of the car waiting for Ellie to join him she finally follows him still unsure about all this.

They knocked on the door Chuck looked at Ellie waiting for her to go off on him. Luckily, he had the keys to the car so Ellie can't run away. The door opens. Ellie's mouth dropped as she stared at her father standing in the door way.

Ellie was the first to speak only one word left her mouth. "Pancakes"

"oh boy" Stephen replied

Chuck knew he need to get Ellie out of her shocked state he spoke "Ellie if you want answers let's get inside and I will let you ask any question and tell you the story of how I changed."

That got her attention she looked too her dad then to Chuck her stern gaze froze both men "you better little brother you have a lot to answer for." Ellie spoke

You could see Chucks adams apple bob up and down knowing he was in trouble. Their father leads them into the trailer offering them both a seat no one spoke a word but both Chuck and Stephen the silence wouldn't last forever and they were right

"Ok chuck I have been patient you have led me here and dad is here what next is mom going to pop out of the bedroom. Now I want answers now!" the steel in Ellie's voice shakes both male Bartowski's

Stephen motioned for Chuck to start his story. Chucks nods his head and clears his throat looks Ellie in eye "Ellie what I'm about to tell you will make you think I'm crazy and I want you to hold your questions until I'm done my story no matter how farfetched you think it is. Just know dad can vouch for some parts of the story not all of it OK." chuck prayed Ellie believed him she nods her head.

Chuck takes a deep calming breath and smiles at Ellie and begins his tale. As he goes through his story, he can see the doubt in her eyes as he tells her about the intersect and their parents' part with the program. Then anger as he explains the beginning of his and Sarah's relationship. The look of horror as he speaks of the life threatening missions. Her face sorrow in her face when he tearfully speaks about what happened to his wife and the loss of his life and the death of their father. Her eyes showed disbelief when he told her he woke up in the past. He saw the devastation and tears when he explained what his Sarah's life was like before she was a part of their life. Chuck saw a faint smile when he explained part of his plan just withholding that they were going to dispose of Quinn and Ryker knowing she would never agree with it being a doctor and all. As he finished his Story, he was relived she didn't go straight to shouting at him.

"OK you guys have giving me a lot of information to processes give me a moment to collect my thoughts. "spoke Ellie her voice shaky. Chuck just gave her a reassuring smile while Stephen got up to get them all something to drink, he came back with a bottle of johnny walker blue label and three glasses knowing they all needed it a little. He poured them all a drink they all took a drink and after it seemed a little bit of the stress and tension left them. Ellie finally spoke once again.

"So, you're telling me all of our family is or will be a spy in the near future and that dad created a way to download data and abilities in to a living person?" Ellie asked both men who just nodded then Stephen spoke.

"You see Eleanor when I first designed the intersect it was meant to help people as a learning tool but when I saw what the government wanted and did with my life's work so after your mom went to fix and help Hartley I knew the government would be looking for me so I had to leave the both of you to protect you both but now we can now see that's out the window." Stephen was pacing a round his little trailer. "Eleanor, I know your mother and I are not the best parent but from what Chuck tells me with your help I can finally fix Hartley and bring your mother home. I know your angry at us for leaving and you have every right to be but be mad at me not your mother she sacrificed her family and twenty years of her life cleaning and trying to control the mess I made." Stephen pleaded with his daughter hoping she would help him.

Chuck spoke to Ellie next he remembered the conversation between them after Stephen's death "Ellie when I had the intersect, I hated lying to you were the last person to know and not telling you was the best way to keep you safe there was no one I wanted to tell more I mean you raised me. You remember when I broke moms' necklace and she left a couple days later and I thought that's why she disappeared. I know you hated her for leaving and making me feel that way. The way you were with dad no twelve-year-old should ever have to worry about handling the family bank account. I know you don't want this for me because you promised to protect me but I am a pretty good spy and I promise you this once Sarah is done with the spy life so am I." Ellie could see the tears and pain in chucks eyes. "Sis with your help we can get our family back."

"your right Chuck I don't want this for you I can't protect you like I promised. You really love this woman that you haven't even met yet in this time and expect it to work you know it's going to be difficult."

"Sis Sarah is the love of my life. It was hard the first time to get to admit she was in love with me but she fell for me on our first, first date. I'm going to have to find the right time to tell her everything and I do mean everything we promised no secret no lies. It will be Kinda like that Adam Sandler movie 50 first dates I just have to get her to fall for me again and I will do everything in my power to do that. She means the world to me."

Ellie could see the love Chuck had for Sarah. She was always there to protect her little brother she finally realized he no longer need her protection. He was now the man she always knew was inside that nerd shell of his and she couldn't be prouder. The more time she thought about the more she realized she missed her family and wants nothing more to have her dad walk her down the aisle and have her mother there when her and Devon would start a family. She wants her brother to find love like she did to be happy. "Ok I will help you both I want to get mom home I want us to be a family again. So how can I help and is there any way we can see mom?" Ellie asked them

Stephen gets up and grabs one of his laptops "Eleanor here is one of my laptops it has all my research and notes on the intersect and agent x files. I made the intersect like a computer but with your knowledge of the human brain we should be able to fix everything." Stephen hands her a black and grey laptop with green lights. "I'll see what I can do about getting to see your mother."

Flashback end

The night of the party

The party was over Ellie, Devon, Morgan and Chuck were finishing cleaning up after the party. Chuck and Morgan headed in side to play some videos games they sat chuck on his bed and Morgan in chucks computer chair. Chuck was watching Morgan play a shooter game when they hear the notification sound of chuck receiving an email Morgan speaks first.

"wow blast from the past wow, Bryce remembered your birthday dude." Morgan said

"what" was chucks only reply

"The guy who got you kicked out of school. The guy who stole your girl remember that guy."

"Yeah, Morgan I think I remember Bryce" chuck said walking up to his computer

"alright what do we got here"

"huh"

"What is it"

"zork you remember zork the old text base video game well Bryce and I programed our own version of it back at Stanford using the Trs-80,"

"wow you guys are really cool"

"yeah, if only I could remember what was in my hero's satchel, the weapon's that I would use to kill the terrible troll"

Right your still rally cool"

"and uh you're going home"

"is it that time "

"It's that time" Morgan leaves then chuck calls out "peddle safe"

Chuck attention is back on the email he was glad this happened now after all that planning him and his family has done the game was about to start "attack troll with nasty knife" and it began the thousands of images and secrets flashing before his eyes they Finally stop and chuck fall backwards on the floor

(switch to Sarah)

To say she was happy was an understatement over the last month she had been through hell new and old wounds opening. She was back at her apartment in D.C just thinking over her career with the CIA all that she had been through the betrayal of the cat squad. Her partnership with Bryce and the blow back she felt when he went AWOL that because of his choices she had to do a mission with a handler and because of that mission she saw her mother for the first time in years. Now she was starting to question her commitment to the agency it wasn't the first time she had these thoughts. The first time was her red test she was given a file with only a picture and told to terminate her target never knowing what she had done just to prove she would follow orders without question.

Now after her mission in Budapest her mind was full of questions not just about the agency but of herself. What could drive an agent to kill innocents and try to kidnap a baby just for money. Would she become the same after years of death and lying. Her inner thoughts were disrupted when her phone rang.

"walker secure"

"Graham secure. Agent walker in need to see you in my office" the line went dead

Sarah was frustrated she knew Graham had another mission for her. In her mind this would probably be her last mission and she hoped she would not become like Ryker.

Sarah enters Graham's office she sees the file under his hands. Graham was the person who recruited her she started out as a con man so she never trusted him when he offered her a job it wasn't so much an offer to begin with. She knew to Graham she was a tool to be wielded when he saw fit but she could do nothing to escape as long as he was around. So, it didn't matter if she wanted to be done with the agency she couldn't leave until this man was gone. But what was out there for someone like her she was a trained killer for the last ten years she had blood on her hands could she just reinsert herself back into civilian life. Her thoughts were broken when Graham spoke

"it's good to have you back agent walker sometimes when an agent goes through what you did, we lose them"

"well, you're not going to lose me sir But I am done with handlers" lying through her teeth hoping Graham couldn't spot that she was lying.

"oh, I agree in fact I think it's time for you to become one. I have a new assignment for you something stateside. As he hands her the file as she skims through it "you think you can handle this one."

Sarah walks into the buy more thinking this was going to be an easy mission get in get the Intel and be gone. She read over the file it was just some under achiever that Bryce knew from college. She didn't know why Bryce would ever send info to a civilian. His file didn't scream agent just from his picture she could tell he had no training what so ever and his big smile was cute not that she would tell anyone that. So here she was about to make contact with her mark. She finally notices him at the counter on the phone with the little bearded man standing next to him while her mark was on the phone with a file open in his hands as she walks up. She couldn't help but think his picture must have been out of date because there he stood his broad shoulders stretching his white button up shirt, she could tell he worked out by the definition of his arms she wished she could see his lower half. Her mind was going somewhere it shouldn't she also started to rethink her opinion on him being trained she was knocked from her thoughts when she heard the bearded one's comment as she walked up

"stop the presses! who is that? Vicky vale"

"Vicki Vale, Vick-Vicki Vale. Vickity-Vickity, Vicki Vale, Vic-Vicki Vale." the mark poke and looked up at her and dropped the phone his deer in the head light s looked cute she was used to men staring at her but when she looked in his eyes, she didn't see the usual lust but wonder and something else she couldn't put her finger on

"I hope I'm not interrupting." she smiles at him

"No. Not at all. That's... it's from batman." was his only response

"Cause that makes it better." looking at him thinking he had great eyes then his buddy spoke

"Hi. I'm Morgan. This is, uh, this is Chuck."

"I didn't think people still named their kids Chuck, or Morgan, for that matter." trying to give her time to get her mind back on the mission.

"My parents are sadists, and carnival freaks found him in a dumpster."

"But they raised me as one of their own." she was caught off guard these two must have been friends for ever to be able to ply off one another so well that they both had confidence in each other do make a self-deprecating joke and just run with it. She wonders what it was like to have a friend like that.

"How can I help you...?" Chuck asked breaking her from her thoughts

"Sarah. Sarah. I'm here about this." she hands over the broken phone she picked up the local field office their tech guys said it would take someone like Chuck about ten to fifteen minutes to fix giving her time to flirt and hook her mark.

"Oh, yeah. The Intellicell. Yeah. Absolutely. This model has a little screw that pops loose right in the back here. Just go ahead and give it a couple of quick turns and... good as new, no problem." she hides her shock not even twenty seconds go by and he's done. How was all she can think of so much for giving her time for once she on her back foot.

"Wow! You geeks are good." she says trying to by her some more time

"Nerds. I would say nerds probably more... It's no big deal. You know, yeah. I mean, nerd herd." chuck said pointing the big nerd heard sign above them. This guy is different either he is one of the best trained spies that his cover is so ingrained that she could spot no tells or he had no idea what was going on she was about to ramp up the flirting hoping to catch even more of his attention when she could feel some one approaching behind her and sees a frantic father with his little girl in a tutu.

"Excuse me. Excuse me. I have an emergency. I don't know what I did wrong, but I shot the entire recital, but, um, now it... now it won't play back."

she watched as chuck open the camera "Okay. We'll just take a look and... you don't have a tape in here."

"But it's digital." was the clueless father

"Oh, boy." was Morgans unneeded comment

"Right. Yes. But you still need digital tape." her thoughts were all over the place this guy knew she was flirting with him and yet he didn't push the clueless father on to someone else. He didn't treat with any disrespect because he had knowledge he didn't.

"Oh, no. Her mom's going to kill me." Chuck hearing the man's comments looks at me and then back the frantic man and then to her surprise calls out to his friend

"Morgan, I need the wall." was all he stated

"It's yours." Morgan rushes off to get the rest of the store to help him make room Infront of the wall of TVs

"I'm so sorry." chuck says to her much to her surprise. She wasn't vain she didn't always look how she did now but ever since her transformation into the CIA seductress no mark had ever just blown her off. Yet here was this man brushed off her obvious flirting. She knew from his file he was single and hadn't been in a relationship for five years and he just walks away to help a father who didn't know how to work a camera.

"Okay. This... this way." Chuck spoke as she watched them walk away. She knew what her mission was so she didn't leave and she would wait for him to finish his little impromptu recital. She looked on at all the employees of the store helped out. She thought about the kind of man who could inspire such loyalty that everyone would jump up to help him do something nice for this man and little girl she watches over the shelf as chuck approaches the little ballerina, she can tell she is nervous she can barely hear what they are saying

"You ready? What's wrong?" Chuck spoke with softness in his voice and he kneels down at the little girl's level trying to ease the little girl's nervousness.

"I'm usually in the back row." Sarah watches as the little girl looks around the store

"Why?" was chucks only response the confusion in his voice evident to Sarah as she listens on

"I'm too tall. I block the other ballerinas."

All Sarah could think about how chuck would responded to that comment she sees him offer the little girl a big smile one that Sarah thought could knock anyone for a loop "Can I tell you a secret? But you can't tell the other girls. Real ballerinas are tall." That was not what Sarah was expecting from him it was a beautiful lie. That she could tell the little girl believed with all her heart by the smile that graced her face. To Sarah that one line affected her more then she realized she herself was always a head taller than most people when she was younger. Her mind was all over the place she knew she needed to get out of there she needed to get away from this guy who seemed to be the quintessential nice guy there was no way he could be real to give up on an opportunity to flirt and maybe go out with a woman just to help this little girl and probably save a man's marriage. What she thought was a strait forward mission was turned on its head by one Chuck Bartowski. Much to her relief chuck was stopped by another employee so she made up her mind left a card with her number and left to get her mind on the mission.

(next day at the buy more) (both chuck and Sarah pov)

Chuck knew he wasn't crazy but he had to play the role that he had no idea what was going on so here he was his head down on the nerd herd desk waiting for Sarah to show up. It felt great to see her. When he saw her yesterday, he was relieved that him coming back hadn't changed her showing up in his life he knew there was always that chance. He heard the bell while mumbling to himself that he would not kill Jeff, Morgan, or Lester. When he went to cover the bell, he felt her hand got it was soft was one of many thoughts in his head he looks up and sees Sarah smiling at him.

"Hi!" Chucks eyes where wide as he released Sarah's hand

"Hi... phone trouble again?" said chuck as he was playing up the bumbling nerd. Sarah herself was a little shocked at his question not trying to think why he never called her last night

"Yeah. I'm not sure I'm able to receive calls, 'cause I never got one from you." she said trying to hide her smile when she saw his face turn a red. "I'm sorry I left so quickly yesterday. I had an appointment with a realtor. I just moved here." She was hoping he would take the hint and ask her out but to her surprise he didn't take his shot.

"Welcome." was chuck only reply he never realized last time around how clueless he was to her granted back then he had no experience with beautiful women flirting with him at all it always took Sarah to point out when it was happening.

"Thanks. And, uh... I don't really know anyone here. I was wondering if you would show me around. That is, if you're free." she smiled as she finally went in for the killing blow, she was shocked that he still hadn't said anything before they were interrupted by Morgan

"Oh, he's free. He's got nothing but time on his hands. He is very available. You guys are going to have a great time. What's that, sir? Xerox machines? Yeah, I'm on it." Morgans voice rings across both of them. Even though chuck knew it was coming he was still embarrassed. Sarah herself was trying not to laugh at chuck horrified face.

"Apparently, my schedule is wide open." Chuck smiled at her trying to play off his nervousness. Sarah just smiles back to reassure him.

"ok Chuck well you have my number give me a call about tonight "she replied as she walked away from him out the buy more.

(Mexican restaurant)

Here they were chuck was trying to keep everything as how it was last time, he knew so her he was enjoying himself with the beautiful Srah walker "So, yeah, I live with my sister and her boyfriend, captain awesome. No! It's true, though." he always liked to make Sarah smile

"So, so, wait. You call him captain awesome?" she laughed at the nickname

"Yeah, wait till you meet him. Everything he does is awesome: Climbing mountains, jumping out of planes, flossing." that's all he could say to try to explain Devon to someone who never met him

"That's funny."

"I'm... I'm a funny guy.

Clearly. Which is good cause I am not funny."

"Is that your big secret, by the way? 'Cause I've been sitting here trying to figure out what's wrong with you." yet he knew that wasn't her secret he knew more about her then anyone else that was alive.

"Oh, plenty, believe me." chuck could hear the nervousness in her voice as she said that

"And I was thinking either she's a cannibal or she's really not that funny, and I was pulling for cannibal 'cause I never met one before." chuck tried to put her at ease to get her to focus on this moment and not on her past.

"Uh, not a cannibal but I did just come out of a long relationship, so I may come with baggage." chuck was smiling at her to reassure her she wasn't alone.

"I could be your very own baggage handler. Uh, so the guy, the ex, the guy, the ex is the reason you moved here from..." Chuks voice a little shy even though he said it before it was still a little cringe worthy.

"Uh, D. C. Right. Yeah, after I realized that all of my friends were his friends and that everything about Washington reminded me of... Bruce, I needed a change, a big one." Chuck knew listening to Sarah that Bryce had hurt her because she trusted him as a partner.

"Bruce... yeah. You give me crap for being Chuck and you went out with a Bruce? That's nice. That's real good." chuck was trying to make light of the Bryce situation even if Sarah didn't know he meant it that way god he hated lying to her.

"So, so what about you? What skeletons do you have in your closet? Any secrets? Any women?" Sarah asked

"Uh, yeah, yeah. Uh, actually, well, back in college there was someone... actually, that's all over with now and her restraining orders are very specific. So..." As much as chuck wanted to tell her everything right there that there were no women in his life that she was the only one that would play any role in it but that would just make him sound crazy and stalker like. And that he had many secrets that he wanted to tell her he really hated lying to her but like what she wants told him the less people knew the more they were protected.

"I like you, Chuck." she smiled at him his only thought hearing those words was that he hoped it was still true after everything came to light.

Sarah was watching him as he sat on the beach. She could see him run everything through his mind how his life had changed so much and that she was part of the reason. Her mind was going a mile a minute. She just finished a mission that had her protecting an innocent baby from a rouge agent and know her she was protecting an innocent and sweet guy from the actions of her former partner and lover. The government burst their way into his life and turned it upside down. She was surprised how well he was handling thing after all he defused a bomb, chuck did it not the fancy computer in his head. Tonight, she came to the realization that chuck was a great guy who didn't deserve to be the government's new toy but there was not much she could do but to protect him from them that meant she would do everything in her power to keep him out of a bunker. Her mind made up she walks to join him and sits down next to him in the sand they were both just staring out at the ocean.

"How long have you been here?" chuck asked her

"all night" was her only reply

"there nowhere I can run is there?" questioned chuck

"Not from us." she wanted to answer that question differently but knew she couldn't she didn't like that they were taking over his life

"Talk to me Chuck." that what she wanted she wanted to know what was going through his mind would he lash out yell fight she wanted to know what he was feeling it was strange to her she never cared about anyone else's feelings before. But with chuck everything was different

"Yesterday I was making eleven bucks an hour fixing computers now I have one in my brain. What happens now?" She should have known this was coming

"for now, you go back to your own life we will protect and you will work for us." she knew she was lying to him about getting his life back then she continues before he asks another question "chuck I need you to do one more thing for me." she waits for him to agree "trust me chuck"

She looked in his eyes trying to see if her words sunk in, to her surprise they did she could see the trust in his eyes they sat there a moment longer before he spoke and broke the silence.

"Sarah, I do trust you so please don't get upset with my question I'm about to ask you." her mind was going crazy thinking about what he could ask and how she would answer him she nods her head "So I guess when you said Bruce tonight you meant Bryce?" her eyes widened not expecting that question but before she was able to speak, he continues. "I am no spy but by the small widening of your eyes I'm guessing I am right. Don't be so shocked I knew Bryce he was charming when he wanted to be. He always got the great girls." she was still not sure how to respond

"Bryce and I were partners chuck." she lied to him already after asking him to trust her she was thrown for another loop again when chuck spoke

"Sarah I'm not stupid I know why you're saying he was your partner you want me to feel comfortable around you knowing my history with Bryce you and him in a relationship you think it would paint you in the same light as him." she could tell in his voice that he didn't believe they were only partner she takes her silence as confirmation "Sarah while I hate Bryce and I'm sorry for speaking ill of the dead but Bryce was an asshole and I could never put you in the same category as him I won't hold that you had a relationship with him against you. He was always a self-proclaimed ladies' man he would charm many women even the ones with boyfriends. He only ever cared about himself and I Could never blame you for falling for his act."

Sarah was speech less she never thought chuck would talk about someone like that. "OK Chuck yes Bryce and I were together for a while when we were partners but that's been over for almost a year" she was not sure why she decided to tell him this

"You know you deserved a lot better than Bryce gave and no I'm not talking about me. I just Have had to pick up after the fallout of Bryce's conquest when we were roommates." Chuck spoke she wasn't sure how to feel about that

"Like I said chuck it was over a while ago" her moth hung open with his next comment

"Really then you should really get rid of the pictures on your phone" he smirked getting up from the sand he looks at her and then says "Sarah, I trust you more than anyone in the government right now but I'm going to need you to trust me as well I won't break your trust like so many others before and before you ask how do I know that I can see it in your eyes you have not had anyone worth your trust your whole life but I would like to be. So please trust me like I trust you." He smiles at her and walks away. She sees him board a bus and watches it leave before her mind reboots and processes everything he said.

Her mind full of questions how did chuck know about the pictures on her phone? How could she trust him? Why can't she get a good read on him? She sat there a bit longer thinking about Bryce and Chuck. She was over Bryce it was never a real relationship he was never faithful to her. She was mad that Bryce betrayed her and she was pissed at him for what he did to Chuck. She only knew Chuck a few days but she could tell he was special she just didn't know how and the way she felt about him it was different from everyone else she didn't have a name for that feeling. Her thoughts finally came to A halt when she realized that Chuck went home on a bus without any protection. She got up and ran to her Car her final thought before she sped away from the beach was that this was going to be like no mission before.

Chuck was at the very back of the bus by himself nobody else save the bus driver he pulls out his phone and makes a call "Hello General Stansfield This is Chuck Bartowski, you know me from last night I was the one to diffuse the bomb at your speech." Chuck waits for the general to finish. "Sir I Know you have questions and I would be happy to answer them but I need your help I need to speak to the president and you're the only one who can help me this is a national emergency that deals with the director of the CIA." chuck says. his voice full of resolve hoping Stansfield would help. "OK sir I got all the proof I need but I really need to brief the president yes sir I'll wait." so he waits a million possibilities running through his mind "Hello... hello mister president let me tell you about the intersect."

A\N so Sarah's finally in the story yeah it was mostly stuff straight from cannon but the end was different. For me chuck would try to play things out the same way at the beginning I mean he couldn't be sure if he changed anything by returning. You're probably thinking how could Ellie just agree so easy to me I think her mind was just filled with a lot of info. She would be thinking her brothers crazy just like her father then finding out he is not and that her entire family are spies that her brother wanted her to play with his brain. It was more like information over load that got her to agree.

As for chucks physical presence I went with Zachary in shazam instead of say a body builder I mean it would take longer than nine months to become a bodybuilder compared to the shazam body type. so tell me what you think. Yeah, Chuck calling Stansfield has been done and you're wondering how chuck got the number Orion and son are good at hacking and talking to the president has been done before but the stories I read were some of my favorites plus chuck needs all the help he could get even with all his future knowledge what one more ace in the hole.
