Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of the Sun and the Inventor. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own MLP, Hasbro and a few others do.
"Silver Shoals is far quainter then I remembered." Celestia said to which Maverick turned to the former ruler.
"You visited Silver Shoals before?" Maverick questioned and got a nod as the alicorn brought a hoof to her lip.
"I visited every city in Equestria at one point or another." Celestia stated to which Maverick blinked. "How do you think I knew about Sliver Shoals to begin with?" Celestia questioned to which Maverick hummed and shrugged at the moment.
"Well then, I don't exactly know what to say at the moment." Maverick said and looked around with slight interest. "In any case? Its late…. I'm sure you have your hooves full with stuff more important than this at the moment." Maverick said as he turned to leave.
"Not at this very moment, no." Celestia said, pausing Maverick as the wounded Pegasus turned to look at Celestia with interest. "Me and Luna are still setting things aside, work isn't as easy as you might believe it at the moment…. I could still use a guide." Celestia said which caused Maverick to blink.
"If you need one and its ok with Luna then…." Maverick said, scratching at the back of his neck awkwardly. "Then I'll be happy to." Maverick said as he tugged at his jacket slowly.
"Luna is busy on her own adventures currently." Celestia said and slowly ushered Maverick alongside her. "I do have a question of my own." Celestia said which Maverick hummed at with a raised eyebrow as he looked at her with interest.
"When did you meet Flotsam?" Celestia asked, playfully nudging the otter with her wing. "I don't expect it to have been a while ago. He looks pretty young for an otter." Celestia said as Maverick chuckled.
"Flotsam?" Maverick asked and looked at the otter in question. "I had him for about… 5 years? He's been around since then. Little guy has gotten me in and out of trouble constantly." Maverick stated as he patted the animal on his head.
"He reminds me of my own pet." Celestia put in as Maverick stopped to look at her.
"Your phoenix?" Maverick said, getting a raised eyebrow at the moment. "Who doesn't know about her? The number of Phoenixes is very rare…. I haven't heard ponies talk about her since Fluttershy volunteered to pet sit her." Maverick put in as Celestia chuckled.
She knew for a fact that Philomena had been not out of her cage for quite a while. She hadn't been seen by the populace in years.
"Celestia?" Maverick questioned as he flapped his wings. "Are you ok? You were staring into space." Maverick stated while Celestia blinked at the moment.
Celestia hummed as Maverick patted Flotsam while humming to himself as Celestia sighed.
"I'm sorry, Maverick." Celestia stated to which Maverick simply shrugging.
"It's fine, we all need time to reflect." Maverick said and let go of Flotsam. "There's a lot to think about. Equestria has been through so much after 1000 years of peace. I only wish that this lasts at the moment." Maverick said to which Celestia nodded.
Maverick watched Celestia fall back into a trance of thinking as they started to walk through town.
"Silver Shoals went through little of those tragedies that the rest of Equestria had gone through." Maverick stated as he let out a small yawn at the moment. "I'm sorry, it's rather late, forgive me. Ive stayed up many moons tinkering with things." Maverick said as he pondered what to do next at the moment.
"That's alright, Maverick." Celestia put in and smiled as she turned to the side. "How about we meet here tomorrow? Will you be here at noon?" Celestia questioned to which Maverick smiled.
"I usually get up at 10 every morning. I'm sure that I'll be ready." Maverick said and slumped slight before Flotsam wacked his face. "HEY… I'll see you tomorrow, Pri… Celestia." Maverick said before turning and walking away.
Celestia hummed and started on her own journey to where Luna had made her own lodgings.
She pondered to herself what her younger sibling had been up to. There was no end of mischief the former ruler of the night could do. Then again? Things would be far more interesting when there was no work left to do.
"Knowing my dear sister? She'd probably joke with me about Maverick." Celestia stated while trotting through the city. "And how poor my sense of direction is or something such as that." Celestia added as she smiled despite herself.
She couldn't wait for her next talk with Maverick and what adventures the next day brought.
The sun might have set on this day…. But that just brought another day. Celestia wondered how Twilight was doing as princess at the moment.
She'd send a letter tomorrow… Or soon, her student needed some time to settle into being princess soon.

Phew. Another chapter done! I want to apologize for the wait for next chapter… But next chapter will be in 2-10 months and will show more bonding between Maverick and Celestia and such. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
P.S: Next chapter will be 900-1200 words or such and might be delayed and such at the moment. My other MLP stories are on hold for a bit.
