"What were you thinking?" Chrono scolded the young teen. "If someone would have seen you then what?! You planning on bringing us down with you?! Huh?!"

"No." Deku sheepishly mumbled.

"Speak up!"

Deku had enough of the yelling, right now all he cared about was if his mother was alive. He pushed himself out of the chair he was sitting in and tried his best to look the taller man in the eyes, "If I would have never been there then my mom would be dead! I know I disobeyed you but I'm glad I did! She's the only person who's ever cared about me and I'm not going to be sorry for trying to save her!"

"Watch your tone. You're on thin ice." Chrono warned coldly, placing his hand on top of Deku's head, lowering him back down from his tip toes that he was standing on. "Thanks to you, Overhaul is going to be pissed at me too for letting you out."

"I won't tell him that you let me go."

Chrono thought about it for a second but he didn't want lying to Overhaul to be something that Deku would continue to do in the future. "No. I had told him earlier tonight that I'd keep an eye on you. No point in cowering away."

The two were interrupted by footsteps stomping quickly into the room. They both knew who that had to be. "Is my mother oka-" Before Deku had even seen it coming, a cold, hard hand smacked him right across the face causing him to get knocked to the floor. This was the first time Overhaul had ever hit him seriously and with this much power. The other times were just in training, but this hit, this was Overhaul getting a point across.

"You're lucky I didn't decide to kill her." Deku looked up through the green hair that had fallen over his eyes, "You disobeyed me, Izuku." Overhaul paced circles around him like a hungry shark. A gasp got stuck in the poor boys throat when he felt the man grasp the back of his neck and force his face back onto the floor. Overhaul shifted his weight to where no matter how much Deku struggled, he wouldn't get up. "You know how easily I could break you, Izuku? All because you wanted to go out and play hero to protect your junkie mother."

Deku gritted his teeth, "She's not a junkie." He defended.

"Say that to the track marks."

This wasn't true. He had to be lying. Deku refused to believe it. "She's not a junkie." He repeated.

"I should kill you."

"What happened to you caring about me? Was that a lie?" Deku grunted at the forceful twisting of his neck that Overhaul was inflicting on him. "You never cared. You just wanted to use me."

"Smart boy. I gotta say, I'm a little sad that this charade didn't last as long as I had hoped for."

"You bastard!"

Overhaul leaned his head down closer to the boy, "What was that?" he snaked his arm under Deku's that was being held behind his back and gave it a nasty twist before popping it upwards until he heard a crack of the bones.

Deku grunted in pain and used his free hand to punch at the floor, "Shit! Fuck!"

"I don't wanna do this. But you need to learn your lesson." Overhaul reached around, grabbing Izuku's leg and snapping it in half with his quirk. Deku screamed in agony and curled into a ball when Overhaul finally got up off of him. He cried holding his broken leg as if that would somehow numb the pain. "You brought this upon yourself, Izuku." Overhaul dusted himself off and pulled his mask back into place. "Chrono, lets go. We'll leave Izuku here to think about his actions."

Chrono looked on at the sobbing boy, but Overhaul was right. Izuku brought this upon himself. "Chisaki."

Overhaul raised his eyebrow at his friend using his "real" name. "You were supposed to keep an eye on him."

"I know."

"He didn't just slip past you. He's been leaving with your knowledge, hasn't he?"

"Yes. He has." Chrono saw no point in lying nor did he want to. Chisaki was his friend and he promised to stay loyal. That meant no more secrets. "I'm sorry."

"I get why you did it. The kid still cares about his mom. The smart thing would have been to contact one of us instead of running around with an unconscious whore in his arms."

"Don't you think you're being a little harsh?"

From the hall they could still hear Izuku soft whimpers and calling for his mom. It was depressing. "I've been too nice to the boy. This way, he'll learn. If he's smart, nothing like this will ever happen again."

"And his mother?"

"I fixed her. Any minute later and it would have been too late for me to do anything about it."

"Are you going to let Izuku see her?"

"He doesn't deserve to."

Izuku had no idea how long he had been laying on the floor for. It could have just been a few minutes but it felt like an eternity. The pain in his arm and leg didn't cease to subside either. Even moving his limbs an inch caused an unpleasant crunching sound.

"Hope this teaches you a thing or two about disobeying me." Overhaul then crouched down beside the boy and used his gloved hand to brush his green hair out of his face, "There's no reason to cry. You got what you wanted. Your mother is alive and well."

"You broke my arm and leg." Deku's voice shook, he tried his best to mask these words in anger but Chisaki was able to see through it. This boy was terrified.

Overhaul smirked, "You forced my hand. What was I supposed to do? Put you in time out?" He drawled out a sarcastic chuckle, "I'm not your father, Izuku. I'm disciplining you the way a Yakuza boss is supposed to do with his underling."

"You're a monster."

"Is that anyway to talk to the man who fixed your mother?" He placed one hand on Deku's limp arm and the other on his snapped leg, watching the bones crunch and crackle back into place. "And you." Chisaki pulled Deku up from the floor, "This doesn't ever have to happen again just as long as you do what I say."

Deku furrowed his eyebrows, there was no way things could go back to normal after this. But maybe that was what Overhaul wanted. Maybe he was sick of playing mister nice guy. "What now?"

"You say you're sorry. And that you'll never do anything like this ever again."

Deku looked away and slumped his shoulders, Chisaki's fingers twitched, almost wanting to hurt the boy again. "Izuku." He said in a softer voice, it was the same tone Chisaki would use whenever he wanted Deku to do something for him. He'd try to sound as innocent and caring as possible. "I'm sorry." He apologized, bowing his head. "I shouldn't have done that to you. But if the others would have found out what happened, they would have forced me to take more extreme measures. I went easy on you." He explained, as if he could really be pressured by his Yakuza underlings. "For disobeying my orders, I should have had you chop off your own pinkie as punishment, but no. Instead I fixed you and healed your mother."

"Where is she?"

"Resting. We're going to move her before she wakes up." Deku looked down sadly, and Chisaki noticed. Smirking he did a dramatic sigh, mocking the boys sadness. "It really is a shame. She does miss you. Even while she was delirious, all she would repeat was Izuku." He shrugged his shoulders as if he actually tried his best to make things right. "Well, nothing we can do here."

"What if this happens again? I won't be able to rest knowing that my mom is this unstable!"

"Izuku," Chisaki placed his hand on his shoulder, "I lied. She accidentally mixed anti depressants with her other medical pills, plus adding the alcohol to it created a reaction. This didn't happen on purpose."

"What about the track marks?"

"Another lie." He admitted, "I was trying to get under your skin to get a reaction out of you and it worked." Chisaki pinched the bridge of his nose, "Since taking you under my wing, I realized I've been way too easy. You lack discipline, Izuku. This stunt you pulled, on top of all the lying and sneaking off behind my back proves that I can't trust you and that you are unworthy of my guidance."

"Chisaki, please..."

"All can be forgiven if you just-"

"Fine." Deku struggled to stand up straight. His body was still in pain even though he had been fixed. "I apologize. It won't happen again, I swear."

A child who was drunk for more power and drowning in the guilt of leaving his mother was the perfect combination for Overhaul to take advantage of. Izuku was broken and in desperate need to be, or at least feel repaired. Overhaul was going to give the boy what he wanted, but at the expense of making Izuku regret ever signing a deal with the devil.

"If you behave yourself then maybe I'll consider having one of my men keep an eye on your mother." He informed, using another one of his bribes. The control Chisaki had over everyone around him was astonishing. A true master manipulator. He had a way of making you feel as if he cared and that he was your savior, only for him to wring all your worth right out of you and leave you as a shell of who you once were.

"Thank you." Deku bowed his head, "I'll do my best to stay in line. Anything you need done, please let me know."

"Now, back to your room." Overhaul dismissed.

Deku did as he was told. He wanted to look back and go into the room next door to see his mother, even if it was just for a second. Although that would only happen if Chisaki allowed him to. Deku listened for his name to be called back in hopes that his boss would find it in his heart to let him say goodbye to his mom, but that didn't happen.

He went to bed that night praying that Chisaki kept his promise of sending Inko back home safely. Deku needed her to be safe, not only because that was his mother, but also because that was the last piece of his old self that he had left.
