Chapter 5: Raise the Dead
Ghirahim- My master, Demise…it has taken me so long, regrettably…but your humble servant, Ghirahim, has finally returned at long last!
Ghirahim lifted his head and saw Ganondorf and Boss Cass looking at him in confusion.
Ghirahim- Hold on…where is the master?
Ghirahim looks at Ganondorf again and sensed a faint familiarity.
Ghirahim- That's strange. Why do you feel like my master, Demise?
Meanwhile, Link and Ty got themselves back up after they were knocked to the wall earlier. Then they noticed Ghirahim had suddenly appeared.
Link- What the…? Who is this guy?
Ty- Not sure…but me Sacred Bunyip power is reacting to him. Like it's warning me of danger.
Link saw the red aura around Ty's body spiking up, but he also noticed Master Sword was reacting to Ghirahim's presence as well. It was lighting up at random and making a strange sound every time it lit up.
Link- Weird. I don't remember facing this guy before…but the Master Sword only reacts this way towards someone who it fought once before.
Then Ghirahim turns around and notices Link and Ty. Then in the blink of an eye, he appeared directly in front of Link and staired at him in a very unsettling manner.
Ghirahim- That's strange…your outfit resembles the swordsman with the giant red bird…but your face…it resembles…
After examining Link a bit further, Ghirahim visualizes Link wearing a gray wolf's pelt for a split second before taking a step away from Link.
Ghirahim- …The WOLF! Your face matches the nasty and evil Wolf who caused me so much pain! You even carry the Sword of Evil's Bane! Where is that Wolf?!
Link- Hey, I don't even know what you're talking about or know who you even are!
Ghirahim- Fine. I am the Demon Lord, Ghirahim. A faithful and loyal servant Demise.
Ganondorf- Demise…the Demon King, Demise?
Ghirahim turned to look at Ganondorf after he heard Ganondorf say that.
Boss Cass- You know of who that pale creep is speaking of?
Ganondorf- I'm not sure…something about that name he mentioned feels like I should know it for some reason.
Then Ghirahim sees the Triforce of Power on the back of Ganondorf's hand and rushed to him.
Ghirahim- Strange yet stranger still…so it was your power I was following…
Ty fired a beam from the Sacred Bunyip power, but Ghirahim sliced the attack in two with one swing of his sword.
Ghirahim- Pests like the time when that swordsman with the bird got in my way of reviving my master, or when that ****ing Wolf and the Mario Brothers ruined my master's plot for a negative version of the Triforce. Perhaps we should talk elsewhere…
Then with one snap of Ghirahim's finger, him, Ganondorf, and Boss Cass vanished just like that.
Link- What the? What just happened?
Ty- Sorry mate. But your guess is as good as mine.
Not long, Aryll, Sly, Shazza, Maurie, and Fluffy arrive at the top of the tower.
Aryll- Link, are you alright?
Maurie- Ty, where did Cass and the dark wizard go? Did you beat them already?
Ty- Actually, I'm not sure how much of this story you'll believe…
(Boss Cass' lair in Cassopolis)
Boss Cass, Ganondorf, Karlos, and Ghirahim were in Boss Cass' lab as Ghirahim was telling his story.
Ghirahim- And then that Wolf struck at me and knocked me over the edge, causing me to fall that portal that genie created. After that, I was floating in an empty void for who knows how long. That is until I followed the signal of your magic, believing it was Demise calling to me.
Karlos- From your description, that man from the Mushroom Kingdom sounds like Marco Mario, the leader of the original Super Mario Brothers' Team from 1,000 years ago.
Ghirahim- A 1,000 years ago?! That can't be right! My master…Demise…have I failed him…
Then Ghirahim looked at Ganondorf again in an unusual way.
Ghirahim- Then again…maybe not…perhaps…my master is still with us…in another way…
Ganondorf- What's that supposed to mean?
Ghirahim- It's not important. But why was the runt with that damned sword of Hylia and that orange fleabag attacking?
Ganondorf- I had stolen instructions for a spell that can resurrect the dead called the Dead Possum. I took the page from one of the books in the library at the Crystal Monastery. Those two heroes were trying to get it back before I could figure out how to make this spell work and create an army.
Ghirahim- Hate to break it to you, but if you want to make an army, the Dead Possum is not the best way to do it. It's true that the Dead Possum can bring a soul back and make them exactly the way they were before they die, but you need to make a living sacrifice per soul you resurrect. Good for creating a small group, but the amount of living beings you need to sacrifice makes it more trouble than it's worth to create an army.
Boss Cass- You mean Ty and Link were telling the truth earlier?
Karlos- Interesting, but how do you know about this?
Ghirahim- Master Demise told me about it. It was there when the spell was created. However, if you perform the spell with it half completed…you can resurrect the dead as zombies, but as many as you like. Might make a decent substitute for what you originally had in mind.
Ganondorf- Hmm…you have a point there, Ghirahim. You might be of use after all.
Then Ghirahim bowed to Ganondorf.
Ghirahim- You praise me with your kind words. And I live to serve my master.
(Bush Rescue Headquarters)
Julius was looking up information about Ghirahim while Link, Ty, Aryll, Sly, Maurie, and Fluffy were standing behind him.
Julius- Ok…I think I found it. It says here that Ghirahim was a servant of a monster known as Demise.
Link- But why did he refer to me as a wolf or something like that?
Julius- Hold on…Here it is! It appears that a previous wielder of the Master Sword foiled Demise's attempts to take over Hyrule…twice. And this was about 1,000 years ago.
Aryll- Link! That has to have been Wolf, the swordsman from the team Marco Mario put together!
Link- I guess that makes sense. Wolf was known for wearing a gray wolf's pelt and fighting like a wolf. But that would mean Ghirahim was trapped between dimensions for a 1,000 years.
Fluffy- So was Tabuu.
Ty- But Tabuu's a god. This Ghirahim isn't.
Maurie- Regardless, he's clearly dangerous! And he appears to believe Ganondorf is somehow connected Demise somehow.
Shazza- Not only that, he's very creepy! Just looking at that picture if him is creeping me out!
Link- Still, we need to get that page with instructions for the Dead Possum from Ganondorf.
Ty- I sure hope we figure out where they are again before they actually do make a living sacrifice.
Suddenly, they're attention was directed when they heard a scream coming from outside.
Dennis' voice- AAAAAAAHHH! Somebody help me!
