Amanny: Awesome chapter.
1. So will some of the characters learn new abilities or something?
2. If Natsu had stayed and heard the announcement of Fairy Tail getting disbanded, how will he react?
3. I wonder why Natsu didn't say to Lucy he was going to train one year instead of writing it on a letter?
4. What do you think of Wendy Marvell? I'm quite happy with her character development.
5. I'm suprised Gildarts left the guild to go oh his journey. I thought he would at east try to spend some time with Cana. Do you think he should have stayed or left?
6. What do you think of the Dragons that raised the Dragon Slayers (except Laxus and Erik)?
7. What did you think of Makarov's sacrifice on taking all the Alvarez monster soldiers?
Answers:
1: Maybe a few things, but nothing outside their primary magic. At least for the original cast.
2: Shocked, followed up with Violence. Fairy Tail is his life.
3: It would have been harder to say goodbye in person most likely.
4: I am very happy with her development to be honest. Honestly one of my favorite characters.
5: Personally stayed, but for the sake of plot and giving the main cast screen time, he had to go on his journey.
6: Kindhearted and hopefully towards their children.
7: It was...alright. I've only watched a clip and I need to get back to watching the show if I'm being honest.
Review End. Onto the Story!
Just a Quick Lesson
(Fairy Tail Guild)(Six Months Later)
Six Months had passed as Fairy Tail continued on as normal. Rukido had taken more than just a few Job Requests and had taken Corvus with him some of the time. Because of this, they had formed a small team, taking Erza with them from time to time upon her request. Thanks to this, the large sum of Jewels for them had increased greatly even if most were simple delivery missions.
Corvus had to force Rukido to take something different from time to time.
"...What the heck are you doing Flame-Brain?" Gray asked. Currently they were sitting at the same table as Erza, after getting scolded by the girl for fighting...again.
"That guy...he's doing something. I know it." Natsu said with a concentrated frown. He was currently glaring at Rukido, who was sitting in his chair rather calmly. "I don't know what it is, but I can smell it."
"Whatever it is, I don't think he's gonna tell you." Gray said with a smirk. However Natsu didn't respond.
"Natsu. Please stop glaring at our Guild Mate." Erza said, with a small glare. It was enough to make Natsu sit straight and turn to Erza.
"AYE!" Natsu exclaimed while saluting. Gray would have laughed, if he wasn't doing the same thing out of fear.
"If you wish to get to know him then maybe you should ask him yourself." Erza said, waiting on her cake.
"...Well, what do you know about him?" Gray asked.
"Not much, other than he apparently has a large variety when it comes to Magic...though he has shown an amazing amount of control when it comes to God Slayer Magic." Erza explained. To be fair, he never did anything destructive yet in her eyes.
However it was only a matter of time.
'God Slayer? Maybe he knows where Igneel is!' Natsu thought with a wide grin. Gods were supposed to know everything, so a God Slayer should know just as much!
At least, that's what Natsu thought.
Rukido in the meantime was meditating in his chair. He didn't know any places around town to go to and he was comfortable here at least. His mind was clear as he felt his magic flow through him calmly. This was meant to help out with his control over his magic, to a small jolt to a large bolt of lighting. He just needed to stay calm and keep movin-
"FIRE DRAGON'S IRON FIST!"
His eyes shot open as his magic flared around him, flying forward at Natsu and knocking him across the guild. Blinking in realization, Rukido groaned as he got up from his chair. 'Again with this guy? What's with my luck?...Nevermind.'
"Owww." Natsu groaned as he stood up while rubbing his head. He wasn't gonna lie, that had hurt a lot.
"You alright?" Rukido asked as Natsu nodded. The Courier did the same, having a smile on his face...before he smashed Natsu's face in. "THEN DONT ATTACK ME OUT OF NOWHERE!"
"OWWWW!" The Dragon Slayer whined. "I just wanted to see if you knew anything about Igneel!"
"Why would I know anything?"
"Because you are a God Slayer and Gods know everything happening on Earthland." Natsu explained with a blank expression.
"Know everything? Well I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I don't. I had never heard of an Igneel before." Rukido said as Natsu looked down with a frown. "...Tell you what, I'll keep an eye out for any Dragons I happen to find."
"Really?" Natsu perked up almost immediately. Only his friend Lisanna believed him when it came to Dragons and him being raised by one.
"Yup. Besides, it'll be interesting to talk to a Dragon." Rukido said with a shrug. He was keeping his word. If he got trained by a God, who's he to say that Natsu wasn't raised by a Dragon. "Now, will you stop attacking me?"
"Hang on! What was that before!" Natsu yelled out.
"What? You mean my magic?" The God Slayer asked in confusion. Natsu nodded furiously fast as Rukido could only scratch his head. "I'm just using the Magic I'm born with...before people learn their Prime Magic I guess is a better explanation."
Good. Now that should give him some peace and-
"Teach me!"
Damn it!
'Can't I ever catch a break with this guy?' Rukido mentally groaned. It was way too early in the morning for any of...this! "Look, can this wait till...a month? Or something?"
"No way! Show me now!" Natsu yelled with a tick mark on his head. He got some attention from the other guild members, but mostly from the more specific ones.
'Options. One: Ignore Natsu and try to run away...which he can find me with his Dragon Senses. Two: Lie to him and give him some half-assed excuse...and deal with him attacking me more often. Three:...Fuck it and teach him.'
"Fine. Let's get this done and over with." The God Slayer said as Natsu gained a catlike smirk. "...Any evesdroppers nearby that want to join?"
"Technically it's not eavesdropping if I'm not hiding or know it already." Corvus said as he put away his chess board. "But yes, I'm in. I could use some practice."
"Hang on!" Gray exclaimed from behind. "If Flame Brain is getting some training, then so am I!"
It was a common fact in the Guild that Rukido was also considered above both Mira and Erza due to his ease with handling the Demon Girl. It was also a common fact that he was much more...approachable than the other two and Corvus mostly just played chess or was too busy training with his master to even bother with anyone else.
Well…everyone except Erza anyway.
"I'll come to watch!" Lisanna exclaimed while Mira scoffed, but nodded. Seeing this Erza instantly narrowed her eyes and stood up.
"I'll oversee this." The Knight said calmly while Mira rolled her eyes.
"I-I'd like to see this as well." A new voice said that of Levy Mcgarden. She was a bit smaller compared to other kids, but she was considered one of the more smarter Guild members.
"...Alright then, out to the woods." Rukido said.
"Huh? Why?" Natsu asked.
"Because...it's peaceful out there."
(Magnolia Forest)
The Forest was the perfect place to train in his eyes. A lot of open spaces, no risk of bystanders getting hurt and above all else, nothing to pay for if things got...chaotic.
And with Fairy Tail, it was bound to get Chaotic.
"Okay, I'm only going to explain this once so I advise you to listen. Questions are aloud while I'm speaking, but if it gets constant or stupid, there will be punishment." Rukido said while the group sat around him.
"Can I have a fish?" Happy asked from on top Natsu's head. However a quick, but extremely weak bolt of lighting knocked him to the ground. "AYE! NO STUPID QUESTIONS!"
"Fish later." The God Slayer said with a tick mark over his head. He then told them what he told Erza and Corvus on his first mission, in exact detail. After that, he looked at the group, now holding a small ball of Magic in his hands before allowing it to fade away. "Now, any questions?"
"Yeah, how do we do what you do?" Gray asked simply.
"That's the tricky part. You have to meditate with your own magic to bring it out." Rukido explained while Natsu smirked.
"I got this!" The Dragon Slayer declared as he opened his mouth. "Fire Dragon's-"
However a quick uppercut from Rukido, snapped Natsu's head up, spewing the flames up into the air as he went flying on his back. "NOT LIKE THAT! ARE YOU TRYING TO BURN THE FOREST DOWN?!"
"Tch. Flame Brain." Gray scoffed.
"Bring it on Ice Princess!" Natsu exclaimed, recovering quickly.
"Enough!" Erza exclaimed as both instantly froze. She face palmed before sighing and looking at Rukido. "Please, give us an example."
The God Slayer let out a small breath before closing his eyes. The group watched him intensely before their eyes went wide as a light blue aura appeared around him. Sensing Magic was a difficult thing to do, unless the user was letting their magic loose. In this case they definitely felt it. However, it felt somewhat similar to their own, almost natural.
"Magic is not one thing. It is in the air, on the trees, in the sea, in the ground, in our beings, everywhere." Rukido said, opening his eyes while his magic stayed around him. "This is Magic. Plain and simple. Now then...should we get started?"
(A Few Hour Later)
Bringing out Magic wasn't as easy as it seemed. It wasn't the Magic they used normally, not Slayer Magic, not Requip, not even Take-Over. Just the Magic that they were born with.
And that was what was most difficult.
They used the Magic they learned on a daily basis and that was natural for them. However if they were to learn this, their magic reserves would grow. Their power would grow, along with control for that power as well.
So far, Erza was understanding it, unlocking her natural Magic within the first Hour while Corvus already had his unlocked, likely from his master. Lisanna did so about half an hour ago and was now trying to help Natsu and even Gray. The two however had to be separated on multiple occasions by both Rukido and Erza so they weren't truly focusing. Lastly was Mira and Levy.
Mira had a limit when it came to getting angry, a short one at that and wasn't focusing as easy. Levy however used a different kind of magic, Script Magic, which was far from easy and did not involve her body at all.
"Damn it!" Mira exclaimed, frustrated at the moment. Both Erza and Corvus had done so with ease so why the hell couldn't she do it as well?!
"I see you two are still having trouble." Rukido said coming up to the two.
"I'm not used to using Magic like this at all, not like anything involving...this." Levy explained while Mira huffed.
"It's rigged magic as far as I can tell." The Demon said, clearly angry by this. She got up and began walking away. "Forget this!"
"Big sis! Don't leave, just give it another try!" Lisanna begged as Mira froze. Despite her cruel attitude, Mira didn't act like that to her siblings. Which is why she froze, silently cursing Rukido and Erza, for some reason, before turning around.
"Fine. One last try and that's it!" Mira decided as her little sister beamed brightly. It disturbed the elder Sister how easy she could bend to her sister's will. "Any other advice, oh so great Demi-God?"
"It's Courier actually, close guess though." Rukido said as he motioned for the two to come over to him. "Now, I didn't plan on doing this, but it should work."
"And that is?" Levy asked.
"I'll be sharing my Magic with you, bonding it with your own. It's a...personal thing, but it should help you with unlocking your magic." The Slayer explained. He then held out his hands to both Levy and Mirajane. "Now, just hold my hand and I'll handle the rest."
"A-alright then!" Levy exclaimed, blushing in embarrassment.
"If you tell anyone, I'll rip off your manhood." Mira said with a small glare and a tint of a blush. Rukido merely nodded as the girls took their hands on one of his own. He gripped them gently as he began to channel his Magic into them.
Instantly both froze up. It felt warm, peaceful even, spreading throughout their body. The feeling alone sent shivers up their spines as they felt another feeling within them. It was new, almost natural to them as Rukido let go of their hands.
"There, your magic is your own." Rukido said as both girls lowered their hands. He quirked an eyebrow, seeing them lower their heads as well. "Something wrong-"
"I DID IT!" Natsu exclaimed with a smirk.
"I did it first, Flame Brain!" Gray declared.
"No way!"
"Yes way!"
"I did it first!"
"No me!"
"Me!"
"Me!"
"M-"
*Bonk*
Erza had enough of the two and slammed their heads together, hard. They fell to the ground unconscious as the Knight stood over them proudly while the others were either laughing or sweat dropping at the scene.
"I think we should take five." Rukido said, surprisingly enjoying the teaching.
It was fun...well, they made it fun anyway.
(Half an Hour Later)
"Okay! Time for the next lesson!" Rukido said to the group. They proved themselves able to bring out their own magic with ease, quicker than most. "Now it's time to climb trees!"
"...You're kidding me, right?" Gray said.
"Without your hands." Rukido said with a smile. He then walked up to a tree...before walking up alongside it. "See? This is meant to help you to increase your Magic reserves. The more Magic you have, the more spells you can use, constantly and consecutively."
"That's amazing!" Lisanna and Happy exclaimed as Rukido jumped off the tree and landed on the ground.
"You can fly Happy." Natsu pointed out.
"Yeah, but walking up walls would make me a Ninja!" The Cat declared as Lisanna and Natsu's eyes sparkled.
"Ninjas!" Both exclaimed with wide grins.
"Yes, like Ninjas." Rukido said with a small chuckle. "You have to focus Magic around your feet to climb up the tree. Just stay focused and you'll do just fine."
As they tried to do so, Rukido took note of Corvus being able to do so with ease. When asked about it, he told the Slayer that he learned it from his Master. The man however never went into too much detail about it and he had thought it was the coolest thing when he first started.
Ninjas were always cool.
Either way, Corvus was now lending him a hand in teaching them.
"No, no, you're going about it wrong." Corvus commented to Levy as she tried to run up the tree. "Start by finding the correct amount of magic that you need to stick by planting your foot on the tree, once you get the correct amount do the same with the other foot."
The girl tentatively did so and gave a fist pump when she managed to stand horizontally before taking another step, slipping off and falling onto her behind. "The other problem is right there. Too little, you slip off." He gestured to her. "Too much and—"
"AGHHHH!" Natsu shrieked as he was launched from his tree and flew by them.
"…That happens." Corvus finished lamely, pointing at the dragon slayer. "Just take it slow. Try to find the amount you need."
This was going to take a while.
Natsu evidently wasn't a fan of the idea.
"Damnit!" He roared, fire spewing out of his mouth and into the pond next to them.
The fire caused an explosion, steam bursting forth and water arching upwards…directly over Corvus.
The ice mage, hearing the explosion, turned around. Feeling something above him, he craned his head up.
"Eh?"
The water then all came crashing down onto a startled Corvus, who promptly sputtered as he was drenched in ice cold water.
"...NAAAAAAAATSU!"
(Nighttime)
It was nighttime now and the Fairy Tail Mages we're tired from their training. They haven't mastered the tree walking technique yet, but Rukido assured them that it takes weeks to master it. It was only a matter of time. Now it was just Rukido standing.
Corvus had moved away to dry himself after slapping Natsu around, Rukido could still hear the boy grumbling as he put Happy down on the now black and blue fire mage's chest.
Rukido blinked as the other boy walked back over, still trying to wring water out of his blindfold
He was, however, very, very different from before, to the point Rukido wondered if he was looking at the same person. His silver hair and blue eyes had turned into vivid burgundy red and his skin had lightened a bit from the chocolate shade it was. A purple flame like tattoo was also now visible on the right side of his forehead and stretched across the side of his face down to his cheek. Hell, even his guild mark had changed color into red.
"...What?"
"What ah…what exactly is with the pallet swap?" Rukido questioned.
"Pallet swap?" The boy asked before freezing. 'Oh crap, I forgot to maintain the illusion!'
'...Oh.' Rukido thought with a blink.
Only one family in Earthland had those particular features.
The Silver Fang of Fiore.
It was a guild composed only of family members from the Kaiden family. The only ones who were mages in the guild were those with the family magic, no flashy name, just "Prediction". Prediction of enemy movement, of thought, rumors even said that one of their members possessed a form of prophetic sight into the future. Each new member brought a new sight based ability to the guild. So then why…
Oh…
"You know why I'm here, don't you?" Corvus asked with a sad smile. Bitterness creeped into his voice as he tapped beneath his left eye. "If a son or daughter of the family doesn't have our magic when everyone else does, then what use are they at all?"
"...Your family is filled with dumbasses then." Rukido said bluntly. Corvus blinked once. Then twice. Then three times before he started chuckling softly.
"Yeah...I guess they are." Corvus said as he easily calmed down.
"If they have you up, then they don't know what they are missing. I won't tell the Guild, that'll be your job. One day at least." Rukido said as he held up a fist. "Whatever the reason they decided to get rid of you, doesn't define you as who you are. Only what you do from this point on and beyond. I'll see to it that you get there. So, friends?"
"Yeah, friends." Corvus said, matching the Slayers fist with his own.
"...so I'm guessing that ice magic is a facade?" Rukido asked after a moment of silence.
"Ah…yeah." The read head replied abashedly, a very slight blush on his cheeks as his eyes shifted away and…were those embers blowing in the wind from his hair?
'...Keep that in mind for later.' Rukido noted. "Fire?"
"Yeah."
(Fairy Tail, Guild Hall) (The Next Day)
"Okay, who the hell is this?" Mira questioned, pointing at the now red headed Corvus as he played a game of chess with Rukido. Corvus just stared at her blankly in return.
"…I'm supposed to be the blind one here. Stick to your bitchiness." He told the Takeover mage dryly.
"Huh?!" Mirajane gaped, finally realizing who it was.
The rest of the guild hurriedly crowded around them, clambering over each other to see and muttering to themselves.
"…I don't look that different…do I?" Corvus asked his opponent and got a shrug in return.
No one realized Erza had a blush on her face the whole time.
(Chapter End)
A/N: Yeah, I'm like super late on this and I really don't have a lot to say. However there is something to say as to Corvus' family, being a whole Guild that will be talked about much later, but mentioned throughout the story.
Anyway, this is at night so...I hope you enjoyed it, that you had a great day or night and that you just stay at your best. Until then, goodnight.
