Emergency:
The Outers didn't waste time rushing to Hikawa Shrine. When they arrived, they found Rei waiting outside for them, a worried expression adorning her face. The moment they pulled in, the fire priestess ran up to them, "Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, Hotaru! What's going on? Why can't I sense Usagi any longer?" she asked.
The Outers looked at her in sadness, Hotaru was the one to speak up, "I'm sorry Rei-chan, but I sensed Usagi's spirit pass on this morning," she said.
The fire priestess looked at the girl, stunned, before turning to Setsuna, "What about you Setsuna san? What's happened to Crystal Tokyo and Rini?" she asked.
The sailor of time shook her head, "Crystal Tokyo has disappeared and so has Rini I'm afraid," she said.
Rei was speechless and completely at a loss on what she should do. It was at that moment that the rest of the Inner Scouts arrived, along with Artemis and Luna. Mina being the leader of the inner scouts gave Rei and the Outers a questioning look, "What's going on, Rei?" she asked.
Rei looked at her but couldn't answer so it was Setsuna who answered, "let's go inside girls, then we'll explain," she said, ushering the scouts inside the temple.
The inners and outers nodded and followed Setsuna in. Once they were settled Mina crossed her arms and gave them a stern look, "Alright, spill it," she said.
Makoto also looked at them sternly, "Yeah guys, what's going on?" she asked.
Setsuna looked at them sadly, "there is no simple way of saying this, but Sailor Moon is dead," she said. You could have heard a pin drop because of how silent it got and then, panic.
"WHAT?!" Everyone screamed.
Ami who looked like she was about to faint spoke, "What? How Usagi chan left to see Mamoru off this morning how can she be dead?" she asked.
Setsuna lowered her head, "I looked into the past to see where the trouble was, but all I saw was a glimpse of gold and then Usagi disappearing," she said.
The inners were shocked they had never heard of anyone blocking Setsuna's gift before. Mina bit her lip then looked over at Michiru, "What about you Michiru san? Did your mirror reveal anything?" she asked.
Michiru shook her head, "I'm sorry Mina chan but my mirror was also blocked. All I see when I look in the mirror is fog," she said looking down, Haruka put a comforting hand on her back.
Luna looked like she was about to have a panic attack, "Girls, we have a bigger problem than that! If Usagi is gone, then that means whoever killed her has possession of the Silver Crystal," she said.
The girls looked at each other, stunned; they had completely forgotten about the Silver Crystal. A chill went down everyone's spines. If a threat had control of the crystal then the entire galaxy was in grave danger. The girls gulped.
Haruka and Makoto cursed while the others tried to process what that meant for them. Mina being the leader of the scouts sighed, "Then that means we have to figure out who has it and get it back," she said.
Ami looked sternly at her leader, "I agree Mina but the question is how are we going to do that? Whoever this enemy is crazy strong if she could kill Usagi and get the crystal from her," she said.
Rei looked at Ami and Mina like they were crazy, "Forget that! How are we going to beat the crystal? No one has ever beat it before?" she said.
Mina sighed, "I know but we have to try Rei we can't just let this person have the crystal, it's far too dangerous," she said.
Makoto nodded, "We also owe it to Usagi to get it back," she said.
The scouts nodded in agreement at this; they all agreed they would avenge their princess. It was at the mention of Usagi that Artemis remembered something rather important, "Um guys, what about Mamoru?" he asked.
Rei looked at the white cat sternly, "We won't tell him yet," she said.
Makoto quirked an eyebrow up at that, "Geez Rei, don't you think he deserves to know?" she asked, not liking the idea of lying to Mamoru.
Rei shook her head, "Of course he deserves to know, but he just left for school and Usagi would hate it if he failed school over her," she said.
Mina nodded, "Rei is right, there is no need to drag the prince into this just yet," she said.
Hotaru looked confused, "But surely the prince will grow suspicious when our lady fails to answer his calls or letters," she said.
Mina nodded, "You're right Hotaru, then one of us will just have to pretend to be her until we can figure out what's going on," she said.
The scouts all agreed and so it was decided that Rei would pretend to be Usagi until they broke the news to him or the threat was eliminated. Whatever came first.
