I finished two crossovers, and one is not MHA! I branched off a bit! I finished another MHA, too, though. Enjoy~
Luffy stood in front of the mirror in his room, only in his fluff. He had his arms wide, looking at himself. He dropped them and sighed, there was no use being bummed about it. Everyone in his class were taller than he was by at least 8 inches. Now that he was in a hero school, he did wish he was more normal sized.
There were some really unique people there, in his class and others, but he was the smallest. The cutest. He wanted to be a hero, would anybody take him seriously? He went to his bed, the bed too small for most people his age. He sat down on it and brought his legs up, wrapped his arms around his different knees, looking at his small feet that look nothing like a normal person's foot.
All of the kids in his class, even the ones with mutant quirks like Shoji and Ashido, had more human looking bodies. Different features, like different head shape, skin color, but still had a human body. Four limbs, feet, fleshy fingers. He laid on his back and then rolled over onto his stomach.
There was a knock on the door, and he said to come in, the only person at home being his mom. "You'll be a great, recognizable hero, honey," Makino said, knowing him well. Luffy didn't respond and she sat next to him. He then asked if he'd ever get bigger. "I'm not sure. I don't think anyone is. But your size gives you an advantage, you know? Light, fast. You could get into smaller spaces to rescue people."
He said he didn't look tough or like a hero at all. He heard people at school say he was cute. Makino touched his ears, rubbing her finger and thumb on them, making him melt. Having his ears touched alway relaxed him, though only his family knew about that. "Everyone can look different."
"What if nobody believes I'm a hero? What if they think I'm a little boy, and just leave me behind?" he asked in worry, despite the nice feeling on his ear. He was told that was what a provisional license was for.
"Besides, you can make your mark at the sports festival. Show what you look like but that you're in a hero school. A lot of people watch that, so they would know who you are. You are memorable, I don't think anyone could forget about you," she replied. Luffy hadn't thought about it that way, and smiled, knowing she was right. But he had to wait until then.
He nodded, and thanked her.
-x-
"He's so cute," he heard for the sixth time on his way to class. He put his hands over his ears, wishing they were like Law's. His didn't look overly cute. Actually, none of him looked cute even though they shared many similarities in their appearances. When he sat in his usual seat, there was a booster seat there.
Luffy scowled at it, and picked it up and tossed it in the trash, humiliated. Bellamy smirked at him. "Need a booster seat?" he taunted. Luffy didn't respond. Law wordlessly handed him his bag. Luffy sighed, but took it with a thank you. He seemed to be really tired all the time. At the exam, yesterday, today.
It wasn't his business. When Rayleigh walked in, most of the class was already there, Zoro napping for the five minutes he had, any break time he got, he tried to nap during. Midoriya ran in, almost late. Luffy didn't think the teacher would get too mad about somebody being a little late, just a couple minutes. He seemed so laid back.
Luffy could hear the other teacher. He sure was a downer in Luffy's opinion. Always putting things down, making UA sound like a terrible experience. It wasn't so far. Ace and Sabo never acted like it was terrible, either, so he wasn't sure why Aizawa was trying to scare everybody. He was really glad he got his current teacher.
He told them that day that they'd be choosing a class president. It was what usually happened in the beginning of the year. Most people raised their hands but the four in the back. Law didn't raise his hand either.
They ended up voting for somebody shocking. Why would they choose Luffy? He was strong and kind looking, but he hadn't really shown he was smart at all. So, he declined before even standing up in front of everybody. They voted a second time, and chose Iida, who gladly accepted it, Yaoyorozu was the vice class president.
Luffy had a feeling Iida would be very strict, but that was fine. It wasn't like Luffy had ever been a trouble maker. Zoro may be a pain for him, so Luffy didn't know how that would go at all. He always put his feet on the desk, which the engine guy had already gotten pissy about multiple times.
When lunch came, after some more classes that were a bit boring, but with interesting teachers, they were walking down the hall to get to the cafeteria when Luffy stopped, seeing an eye looking at him from the wall. Sanji turned around and saw it staring at Luffy. He grew uneasy, and walked a bit, the eye following.
"That's really creepy. Hey! Whoever's doing this, it's not funny!" Sanji called. But then they saw a girl with horns staring at the window, an eye there, too. Luffy hurried down the halls and saw all sorts of eyes staring at specific students. One poked one of the eyes, and it didn't do anything, didn't react in any way.
Soon, they all disappeared, leaving many students feeling uneasy. Soon, there was a flock of students standing outside of the staff room, reporting the creepy appearance of eyes staring at them intently. All Might said they would look into it, the students didn't need to worry. Though they still were.
When they got back in class, much of them were uncomfortable. It felt off, the eyes. Why were they looking at them? Everyone noticed that it was only the students with mutant quirks. They all sat in silence, not even speculating about what it was. The day was dampened, and when Iida walked back in, he hadn't known what happened.
Luffy explained the eyes that stared at all of those with mutant quirks. "I'm sure things will be fine. Maybe it was a student playing a prank, immature but harmless," he assured them, even though all of them clearly didn't believe his hopeful words. Something was... wrong.
When Rayleigh came back in, all of those who'd been the target of the eyes were gathered, and class resumed for the others. It was Luffy, Law, Shoji, Ashido, Tokoyami and Hagakure. But it was strange. There were other mutant quirks, but they noticed these few were those who were very visibly different. But, some of those targeted weren't mutant types, they only looked like them... Iida's quirk was hidden in his pants. Jiro also had a mutant quirk, but was not incredibly noticeable.
When they got out to the field, there were many from other classes besides the hero courses. But they were alarmed to see it was only the first years that were targeted by the eyes. In such a short notice, they were announced to have necklaces. They had a button on them. If they were approached by the eyes again, they were to press the button.
"It will take a detailed photo, analyzing the eyes, and will they try to find out who it is by contacting the police," Nezu explained. They were all handed the necklaces. Some were murmuring that this was pretty serious. That's what he heroes were making it seem like. Why were they watching them? It was really freaking them out.
They put on the necklaces, and Luffy saw the red, big button on the white device hanging by a secure chain. Luffy's was adjusted for his size so it didn't hang down to his belly button. Those in class 1-A huddled together, while other classes did the same, flocking to the other people they knew, even if it was only for a day.
Law stayed a few feet away, but did stay close until they were all let back into their classrooms. Luffy's class still stayed closer together while they walked with the other first years to their classes. Since they were in session, nobody was in the hallways to stare. Only once they entered the rooms. When they got there, All Might had just arrived to announce what they were doing that day. It was probably a modified lesson to show how to escape dangerous situations. For their disturbing eye incidents, getting away might be necessary.
Nobody knew what might happen next, or if it was just some prank. But Luffy had gotten a bad vibe from it, but couldn't explain what was bad about it. It was just not good, he knew that. Was it him being overly dramatic, or his senses being accurate? He hoped he didn't know and that it would blow over quickly.
The buttons were helpful.
Nobody in the class asked the mutant quirk users about the announcement but Zoro and Sanji while they were walking from the changing room to Ground Beta. They asked quietly, but Midoriya was listening, too. Luffy wasn't upset about telling his friends. He looked at the necklace and said they were to press it the eye or something comes back.
Law was looking at his, glaring at it. Luffy didn't say anything to him. He looked back at what was in front of him, the big wall that surrounded the mock city. No matter how many times they would destroy it, there was enough room to just move to another spot. They stood at the entrance, shortest in front.
All Might explained the activity more. There would be something chasing them. Then he revealed three dogs, big dogs. "You will be running from these. This is Chaser, Vice and Addy. They won't actually harm you, but they will be frightening. You must be fast. If they take the flag hanging from your waist, you lose. The villain would have gotten you.
"There is no attacking them. There will be obstacles. But also many paths to escape through. This will be solo. But tomorrow we will work in groups, coordinating an emergency situation. Who wants to go first?" Nobody raised their hands until Luffy decided to. He lifted his front left hand.
"Young Luffy is first! You will be chased by Vice, the largest of the dogs." He was bigger than Luffy's size. Such a big dog and a small human. The long tie was around his waist. He got a five second head start. His heart was beating quickly as he was at the start point. All Might's voice was on speaker as he announced the start.
Luffy darted on all sixes, zooming through the spaces, jumping off surface to surface, wall to floor to wall as fast as he could, easily dodging what was in front of him, going fast. The dog was after him, barking and snarling, trying to get his tie. But Luffy jumped to the broken ceiling, running through the second floor. The dog followed but slower.
He jumped out of the finish line, setting the bar pretty high already. He'd made it easily, but was a bit out of breath, most likely from adrenaline, not being tired. The dog completely stopped acting aggressive, and let Luffy pet it, his gloves back on so he didn't scratch it. All Might's voice told him to go back to the underground hub. Luffy left, and Vice, the Rottweiler, stayed there, following his directions well.
When Luffy got back, his face shield was on his head. Both sides stayed on from being tucked under his ears. Sanji and Zoro gave him a high five, and Kirishima said that he set the bar pretty high.
"Well he's a midget and an animal," Bakugo snapped. Hating being less at anything. He had to the the best at everything. And if someone was better than he was, then he hated them, blamed them. It was immature. Luffy made no comment, didn't even act like he heard it. He walked to the front of the class to see better, and All Might said he got full points.
He'd both escaped quickly and did no damage to the surroundings. Weighing 86 pounds was pretty convenient. Next was Zoro. They were allowed to damage the surroundings, but they would lose points for it. Only a few. Though many now wanted full scores after Luffy went first. Even if they weren't light and some were not fast. So Luffy didn't really think it was fair to compare themselves to him.
Zoro, not allowed to hurt the dog, as it was supposed to be a dangerous villain that they had to run from, he used his magnetic power to thrust him further. He was able to get through the top floor, that didn't have so many obstacles to hinder him. He just barely made it out, but had damaged the floor of the second story quite a bit, and blew out one of the remaining windows. So, he got a lot of points with just a few missing. Most of the next ones made it, but many destroyed their surroundings. The ones who didn't make it were the ones terrified of the dogs, biting and growling and barking at them, even though they never attacked other than getting the ribbons around their waists.
Ashido and Jiro had been terrified. Todoroki just iced his way through, a pretty cool quirk in Luffy's opinion. Sanji did okay, but damaged the building with his kicks. Law was surprisingly graceful. He didn't run in the same way as Luffy at all, but was able to jump through the first floor quickly, bouncing off of the stones. He dodged the dog, moving to the side when it got too close.
It was surprising, Law being one of the three tallest in the class. The other two big ones were not graceful. Shoji, Koda and Sato had a hard time. So, almost everyone passed. Bakugo passed, being graceful even with his gauntlets. He didn't get full points because he accidentally made an explosion towards the dog, who just barely missed it. That took a lot of points, but luckily, the dog was alright.
Bellamy was really bad. He bragged about how well he'd do, and then got caught almost immediately after needing to jump up the next floor, but misjudging and jumping too high, slamming into the second story ceiling and falling right to the dog, who took the ribbon quickly. When he got back, Bakugo ridiculed him. Luckily, Midoriya got full points besides two being tacked off after breaking off part of the unstable floor.
They all used different buildings for safety purposes. Well, it was unsafe to begin with, but they started out fresh with no damage from previous students. On their ways back, they talked about the activity, glad to talk about something other than the eyes, that didn't bother any of them. Luffy was asked how much he weighed, he answered honesty; 86 pounds. Uraraka said he was so light.
"A lot of me is fur. So I'm really light," he explained. He put his face sheild back on. He scratched himself with his second arm, the others relaxed.
"I don't know what it would be like to have four arms or Shoji's quirk. How do you control them like that?" Uraraka asked. Luffy said it didn't feel inconvenient or anything. "But you have four. How do you know which ones to use? The front or second ones?" Luffy shrugged, saying he didn't really know how to define it.
Shoji said he didn't know how to explain it either. It was just how it always had been, normal to him. Law said nothing. Bellamy was in a very, very bad mood, more than usual. But nobody really paid attention to it. Luffy congratulated Midoriya doing so well. They really on focused on his quirk, but he didn't seem to have used it during the activity.
He said he wasn't sure. He just made it, probably with luck. Luffy knew that might be true, and they got to the changing rooms and then put their costumes away and back to the classroom. Rayleigh was there for a final announcement. All of those with the necklace would be taking them home with them.
They were surprised. No pro heroes would be there for them. But what they wanted was a recording of whether it only happened at school. It worried Luffy. It was only the second day and something scary already happened.
-x-
A week in and nothing else weird had happened. That was lucky. He felt more relaxed, as did everyone else, thinking it was all a prank. They still wore the necklaces, but nobody had pressed the button, at school or at home. Class was going well, even though he still heard people call him cute.
Law lended him his book bag discretely every day. Luffy really appreciated not needing to use an embarrassing booster seat. He always looked so tired, so one morning, Luffy brought him a Starbucks cappuccino in the glass bottles. It was what they had, but he didn't know if Law would like the taste.
When he handed it to him, he was confused and a bit wary. "You always look so tired. I don't know if it tastes good, but it has a lot of caffeine. And coffee stinks, so I didn't know if you drank it," he explained simply. Law took it and gave him a small thank you. That was before class started, before most people were there. Some of the girls were there, and Bakugo was arguing with Iida about putting his feet on the desk again.
The other fluffy four armed teen drank it, and didn't look disgusted. Luffy asked how it was.
"Tastes fine," he said. Luffy smiled and said he was glad, before pulling his things out of his backpack and putting them on the desk. His pencil was wide and the sides were all rubber so it was easier for him to hold.
He was able to write with all of his arms. And during math and called to the whiteboard, he used them to make writing shorter. Wrote some of the problem on the bottom with his second arms and then the top with his front ones. He thought it was pretty helpful, and had done it in middle school plenty of times. The equation was right. It would be embarrassing it if was wrong.
He put both whiteboard pens from his right hands down. He didn't use his left ones, only the right ones. If he tried using all four, it got harder to keep track of. When he went back to sit down, it was back on the bag. They had changed to be wider, so Luffy was kind of thought Law did that for him to sit on more comfortably.
The other fluffy teen looked lonely sometimes, didn't have any friends in the class. It was sad, so Luffy wanted to be his friend. And he seemed to like Luffy even a little for lending him his books. Or maybe it was pity.
They were announced to be going to a place called USJ, which he remembered Ace and Sabo went to. It was some place to practice working in different settings and climates. Luffy looked forward to it.
But the next Monday was when a new problem came. The eyes were back, but it was even more disturbing, as they appeared on bodies and not walls. They didn't know they were there unless somebody else saw them, as they were on their backs. But the most alarming thing was that they came with syringes and drew blood before they had time to pull the needle away.
All the red buttons were going off, people panicking. They could see dots of blood on one another's necks. They ran to the teachers, screaming frantically. Luffy ran, too. He found All Might with Midoriya, the nearest teacher he could find, and told him what had happened. The man stood up immediately, and over the speakers, all students affected by what happened were to go to the auditorium immediately.
Students bolted down the halls, many other types not knowing what was going on. He passed Zoro and Sanji, who asked what had happened in shock and worry. But Luffy just ran past him. He found Law and stood next to him. Even he looked shaken. Luffy said nothing, but tied jumping to see what was in front of him.
Law put his arm out, saying nothing. Luffy jumped onto it to see better. They said nothing of it, focused on what was happening, what the teachers would say, the principal, too. Everybody looked unsettled, and the teachers were unable to handle it. The students were surprising quiet. There were about 50 of them. So there was a lot of room left, but it seemed everyone automatically stood closer to one another. Others who knew the fear they felt.
"Students, we know what has happened. If anyone was not harmed, raise you hand," principal Nezu began. Nobody raised their hands. "After the first incident, we have planned if there was a second one, if the situation is more serious. Your blood had been drawn, not injected with something else.
"We are contemplating confining you all to the campus for now. That means not going home, either," Nezu said. Protests erupted, but the smartest in the room raised his hand/paw. "We will have safe spaces erected for you all. Until we find a solution to this."
Questions erupted again, mostly demanding to know how long they would be stuck. But Luffy asked something else, shouting it loudly. "Was it only us?" People around him realized it was a good question. Nezu shook his head, saying the other hero schools had been targeted. All of their first year mutation quirk users had been assaulted as well.
The room was uneasy. Why them? Was it their age? But why? "We will be speaking to all of your parents, but for today, we want you to stay. We already have a place to sleep in groups. There are large rooms in the old building, former teacher dorms when they once lived on campus. We've set up beds there."
Nobody was happy with this, but many also felt it was the safest option. If a villain came, being there would be better than at home with no pro heroes to help. The school day was ended, with the students other than the mutant ones leaving. Law put him down, and Luffy asked him if they were mutants or transformations.
"I don't know," he said. He rubbed his hands down his face while Luffy put his hands over his ears. They were told clothes and toiletries would be brought that night. They all headed to the old building, feeling and looking down. Scared and upset. Not leaving campus… did that mean they'd miss the trip to USJ? It had to be reserved, so losing their spot might make them have to wait.
When they got to the building, they found ten rooms. Five people would sleep in them. They were pretty big, big enough for the mattresses. They weren't beds, just mattresses with sheets and a blanket. Luffy picked a room, and Law, Hagakure, Ashido and Tokoyami were all five settled in.
They put their backpacks on their beds. The room wasn't cozy, but it wasn't cold and uncomfortable. All of them were touching various parts of their own backs. Luffy's was on his shoulder blade with the syringe going through the back of his neck. They were quiet, not leaving until dinner was ready.
The food was free that night, which was lucky. Luffy was sad his three friends weren't with him. So at dinner, sitting quietly, all the class together at one table, though two were pushed together, Luffy asked if Law would be his friend. Law didn't answer for a few seconds before giving a curt nod.
Trying to make small talk, they asked one another questions about themselves, their likes and dislikes. It was a good distraction. Ashido loved to dance, Hagakure said she sometimes would mess with her family by being invisible. She was a very difficult baby. Tokoyami said he was bummed he couldn't fly even though his face was a bird's face. Shoji said he hid his face because he liked using the mouths on his arms more. Law said he had insomnia so that's why he always looked so tired.
Luffy was surprised he said anything. Luffy said that being on all sixes felt more comfortable than on his back legs, but didn't want to look strange and lose the use of his hands. Law added that he didn't feel that way, being on his legs were more comfortable.
"I wonder if there are more like you both out there," Ashido wondered. "It's a strange coincidence you both are so similar, except for some differences. The ears and size most. And the fur, too. Are the ears or tails annoying?"
The smallest didn't think she was being disrespectful, and said his ears were hard to put hats over. Law agreed with that, nodding. "I don't mind my tail. It doesn't hurt to sit on like Ojiro's. Why isn't he or Tsu here? They are mutant ones, too…"
Tokoyami pointed out that some weren't mutant types, but only looked that way. Those at the table were the most obvious ones. With very noticeable features. That was true. They were all memorable to see. Luffy held his hands together, not hungry anymore. "Do you think we'll really have to stay on campus for a long time?" Hagakure asked sadly. They all didn't know, and mostly shrugged.
When night time came, everyone had already spoken to their parents or guardians. Many disapproved, but Luffy's mom said it was for the best, even though she wished he was at home, too. His clothes were brought, his sleep clothes and the next day's uniform. He slept in a tank top and shorts.
He could tell Law slept shirtless as he scowled at the shirt. Luffy was much less obvious with his irritation. It was lights out at 10:30. They went to bed, the room full of breathing that wasn't normal to Luffy. There were too many sounds around. 50 people breathing, shuffling around. Luffy didn't sleep on his pillow, he slept with it pressed against his ears so he didn't need to hear everything.
Law did the same. They all woke up to knocking on the door, sleepy and their hair a mess. "There are showers in the gym that you can all use," a male voice said through the door. They sat up and got their clean uniforms and went to the shower stalls. Nobody was very happy with this, but they would like to not stink.
Luffy did his best to fluff up, dry his fur, but all he could do was squeeze the water out and dry it with towels as best as he could. But he came out looking skinny with all of his arms still damp and laying flat. They all ate breakfast early and then went to their classrooms. Their home room teachers would walk them there and back just for safety purposes.
When the others came in, they flocked to their friends who had to spend the night. Sanji immediately asked if he honestly had live at campus. Luffy sadly nodded. His two best friends and reunited friend frowned deeply. Law was looking out the window, his chin resting on his hand.
"What was it like?" Midoriya asked, all of them sat down. Luffy replied that it was too loud. Too much sound everywhere. So many people breathing and shifting around. It would have been better if he had his sound canceling mufflers. They went completely around his big ears, customized for him.
Zoro said the whole situation sucked, and he said he was sorry. And that it must be scary, having blood randomly drawn. He nodded. "Hopefully we don't have to stay in those crowded rooms for long."
He could hear Ashido and Hagakure telling the girls about what had happened. After all, after the incident, classes had abruptly ended and those who looked like mutant types left campus. Tokoyami had pointed out he wasn't one, but that clearly didn't mean anything to who targeted them. So they were only really learning about the blood draws then. They were horrified and shocked. Some tried to comfort others, but it didn't help much, or they just acted like it was nothing.
When Rayleigh came in, he looked a bit grim, but adopted a soft smile again. More like a comforting one. He broke the news that USJ would still continue. But nobody was surprised when they were told those that had been attacked would not be going on the trip. They'd do a make up one later, after everything was safe. Those who were excluded moped or frowned deeply. Ashido had angry tears. Their first field trip and they were excluded. Nobody even knew why this happened or how to solve it. When would they go home?
During hero course, morale was low for the ones who were the most obvious mutants. Even if some weren't, Luffy was just going to say they were all mutants. It was easier to generalize it. Luffy was sad, looking down. They didn't fully get into the activity, which was a quiz on what they'd learned so far from their training, their activities, fights. They wrote them down, and had not been told to get changed into their costumes, just their gym clothes.
So, after the tests were done, All Might called over the unfortunate handful. "I will be at USJ with Rayleigh-san. You will all be guarded by Aizawa and the rest of the teachers. You will be inside tomorrow since class is canceled for the trip." They nodded, and then left. Luffy held his ears, something he did when he was upset.
They met up with their friends, and walked back to the campus. Luffy went slowly with his three friends. "We're really sorry you can't come, too," Midoriya said. Luffy replied he wanted them to have fun and not be sad about him not being there. "Still… they should reschedule."
Luffy pointed out that they were sad they were missing it, but thought nobody wanted to be seen as a burden because of this, hampering class or the class schedule. They nodded, knowing that was probably true. When everyone else went home, the students returned their things to their rooms.
The smallest student climbed up the building, climbing up the very corner so he couldn't break the glass while climbing, since the walls were all windows, the whole building. When he was on the roof, his ears blew in the wind with his hair and fur a bit. He looked over the property, not thinking about how he'd get down, or if he'd be in trouble for being up there in the first place.
He was surprised when he heard another climbing up and saw it was Law. He didn't say anything for a bit, both of them sitting there. Luffy was sitting how he was most comfortable but how he usually only did in private. Law was similar enough to him to know things were different for both of them.
So, the way Luffy was sitting didn't really make him nervous about being judged, looking like an animal even more. "The drink tasted good, by the way," Law said, not needing to raise his voice due to their senses. Luffy heard him fine. He said he was glad. And sad he couldn't go out to get anything that tasted good to him.
It wasn't an awkward silence. Well, not silence, the wind was very loud. Things were rarely silent, even when he was alone or his mother was being quiet at night. He had sound proof walls, but the door still had the cracks in it to hear from. "Did you know what we look like? You don't really seem to," Law said, and Luffy looked at him in confusion. What did he mean? "I mean, do you know of any sort of creature looking like us?" Luffy shook his head.
The other frowned, and put his non-human legs over the side of the building. "I think I like my quirk. Fuck anyone who thinks I'm weird, look at Ashido or Shoji." Luffy said he wished he was bigger. But that he liked his body now, too. He was just more annoyed with looking cute when he was supposed to be a hero."
The larger one replied, "I don't think your appearance matters. You just have to have strength to show you aren't some fluffy stuffed animal. You've already shown being faster and lighter as an advantage." Luffy knew that, but it was still annoying. That he'd stopped aging at ten years old. He asked Law if anyone in his family looked like him. He shook his head.
"I heard Ashido say nobody in her family looked like her. Shoji, too," Law said.
Luffy laid down and said, "Maybe it's something with our generation. We're abnormal or something." Law sighed and said that sound plausible. Maybe its something to do with the whole stealing blood thing. They both heard angry shouting from the ground, demanding they both get down that right that instance.
"I can't climb down very well," Luffy said, adding he should have thought this through more. Law offered for him to climb down on his back.
"C'mon, you weight less than 90 pounds," he said, sounding a bit impatient. Luffy nodded and climbed onto his back. Law didn't climb he slid down, gripping the sides of the building just right. They were down pretty soon. And both got detention. They were to never go on the roof again. It was Midnight yelling at them. She was their art history teacher.
Luffy apologized while Law said nothing. They were told to go inside right now. The smaller sighed and Law said nothing. "I'm glad I have a friend in this. I like the others, I like a lot who are in our classroom. But you are like a cooler version than me, so it's nice to have something in common with another."
Law nodded, and they joined their classmates in doing homework in the cafetiera.
-x-
The kids in Luffy's class who were excluded were moping the entire day, laying around the couches brought in while the dorms were made. There would be four, each with twelve people in it. A teacher would be staying there the whole time. They had Aizawa, which wasn't really a relief for Luffy.
The dorms were ready halfway through the day, and they were moving the temporary furniture inside dorm rooms. Their class and the general studies courses were there. The general studies had less mutants than other classes. 12 people fit exactly, so that was nice. They actually got real beds, but there was nothing comfortable about the rooms.
But they spent the day there. They were in the common area with the small kitchen with a lot of drinks and snacks. It was around 2:15 when Aizawa looked frantic and ran from the building. Those in the room all looked worried. Nobody seemed comfortable with the teacher leaving them on their own.
Even though he came back a few moments later, he looked very worried. Luffy asked what was wrong. "Villains have attacked your class at USJ," he said, his easy going face gone. Ashido and Hagakure screamed, "WHAT?!"
Aizawa said he didn't have much information, but that he wouldn't be leaving them to go help. They didn't know who the villains were or their motive at the moment, didn't know if they were connected to those that had targeted all of them. Luffy worried about his friends, putting his hands over his ears.
They were all quiet, their eyes glued to their phones, all in the same room. It was at 6:00 that they all got texts from Kirishima, saying they were all fine. Luffy pulled Zoro up on facetime. He had some scratches on his face, but looked perfectly fine.
"Yo! We were fuckin' awesome!" he said. Everyone gathered on the couch or behind it, asking what on earth happened. They were attacked by villains! "Yeah, some pussies came after us. The League of Villains. What a stupid name. Well, they had a bunch of fodder that everybody took out. There was some freaky creature, though. All Might fought it. But everyone is alive. Some have broken bones and cuts, but nobody will be long term hurt. Midoriya didn't fuck himself over, either."
Luffy's face crumpled. He wasn't even there to help his friends. Sanji was suddenly in view. He told them to not feel guilty, nobody expected that to happen. "Still, we should have been there to help!" Hagakure exclaimed angrily. "We could have helped," she said more quietly. Sanji said that they thought the losers might come back, so they could all fight together. "Why do you sound so happy?!"
Sanji replied that they all got to fight unrestrained. Saw how strong they were. Luffy was gripping his fur in irritation. He wished he was there, too. To help but also to fight. But instead, he was stuck in a dorm, unable to do anything or go anywhere. He wanted to go home, he didn't want to stay here.
