The Incubus and his Ace

To Love a Demon Prince

Chapter 5: Dating a Demon

Jace was beautiful like that, tied up, arching his back, covered in sweat. He threw his head back, whining. After an hour, he always started whining. Magnus loved that little, desperate sound as it spilled from those red-kissed lips. His cock was hard, again. Fifth time. As much as Magnus loved edging Jace on, sometimes he loved to indulge in overstimulating his love. Pure gluttony, really. Four times already, Jace had come and Magnus had fed on the human's delicious energy. It was a true feast today. Licking his lips, he approached Jace, like a predator, before he kissed his little prey.

"Do you think you can come for a fifth time for me, my love?", whispered Magnus darkly.

He grasped Jace's chin, adjusting his face so the blonde was looking at him. His eyes were hazy and oh, he looked so pretty like this, all exhausted and at the edge, yet so willing and eager for more.

"Yes", gasped Jace out, voice breaking a little.

His voice was so rough from all the moaning and begging. A beautiful sound. Magnus couldn't help but lean in and kiss those soft, red lips once more. Smiling into their kiss, Magnus let his hand run down Jace's chest, tracing his six-pack down until he reached the blonde's cock. Jace hissed, sensitive to the touch after already coming four times. The only thing holding him upright were the ropes that tied his arms behind his back and that tied him to the posts of their bed.

"My pretty, pretty pretty boy", whispered Magnus pleased, biting Jace's earlobe. "Come again for me, like the good boy you are. You know you want to be good for me."

Jace whined in agreement at that, thrusting into Magnus' hand as good as he could in his tied-up state and at the coaxing words from his lover, he came hard. And then he went slack. This one, mh, it tasted even sweeter than the previous four. The more often a human came, the sweeter they tasted. Magnus gladly absorbed it all, taking a moment to take it all in. Once he came down from the high, he started untying his sub, carefully lowering him onto the bed.

"You did wonderful, my love", whispered Magnus, kissing Jace's forehead. "Do you want cake?"

"No. Just... Just you... so on edge, just... hold me? Ground me? Don't leave?"

Smiling softly, Magnus obliged and laid down behind Jace, pressing himself against the blonde with his full body and wrapping his arms around Jace. Jace started to relax in his arms, until he very quickly dozed off. How beautiful that was, the calm sound of Jace's breathing and his heartbeat.

Magnus loved this man. He was so in love with Jace. Jace made him feel warm and loved and he fed him incredibly well – their sex-life, their BDSM-life, their domestic life, all aspects were so... ideal? Just the way Magnus had dreamed of and never gotten before. Jace made him laugh and smile and even beyond Jace, Jace's family. Life at the Lighthouse. He loved living with them all.

And he knew that wasn't good. He knew how bad it was to grow attached to humans. They would die too soon and Magnus was going to be all alone and it was going to be worse than before, because he was going to lose something he hadn't before and it would break him.

Losing Jace and the others was going to break his heart, because he was immortal and they weren't.

Luke, even more so than Catarina, was pushing for Magnus to come clear, so he wouldn't be spending this life-time lying. No regrets. Yet telling them – or even just Jace – would only make him lose them earlier. How was he going to explain to this beautiful human that actually, he was dating a demon. After probably thinking he lost his mind, after realizing it was true, Jace was definitely going to break up with him and potentially actually lose his mind.

He couldn't lose Jace. He just... couldn't imagine losing Jace. The thought of speeding that up terrified him even more. He couldn't tell Jace. He couldn't bear to have Jace look at him like some vile demon creature. Closing his eyes, Magnus pressed a kiss to Jace's shoulder.

For days, Magnus had now tried to convince the humans not to summon a demon. He had tried to be subtle, he had tried to distract them, he had – he had tried everything. But the group as a whole was rather determined by now. They really wanted to summon a demon, so all Magnus could do was hope they wouldn't summon anyone Magnus knew.

/break\

They needed five people for the summoning spell, so one could stand in each corner of the pentagram. Magnus wanted to sit it out and since they only needed five, Jace guessed that was alright. Though he wondered why. His boyfriend was usually always up to whatever silly shenanigans were going on at the Lighthouse. If Magnus had serious concerns, Jace was sure he'd have brought them up with Jace. Maybe he just thought this was particularly childish...?

"I am devastatingly disappointed in your boyfriend, Jace. He really just... sits there, drinking wine, not joining in on the fun", declared Bat seriously. "This is fun and could be very fabulous if he'd actually participate. He looks like some eccentric modern warlock already."

"What does that even mean", muttered Magnus, shaking his head. "I'm not interested in playing Harry Potter. I will leave that up to you nerds. I'm just going to... sit here and watch you talk to yourself and... I don't know what you expect from this."

"A really hot demon", declared Bat determined. "Absolutely hot, horny demon."

"Your boyfriend is literally standing right there", pointed Magnus out, waving toward Alec.

"Yes. I would share", confirmed Bat with a wave of his hand.

Magnus snorted, but before he could say anything more, they finally got started. Simon was in charge, he had gone through the old tombs from the attic and he had gone and bought all the ingredients with Bat together, so Izzy, Alec and Jace basically just followed their instructions.

"So what kind of demon are we summoning?", wanted Isabelle to know.

"I have considered a few options", drawled Simon, adjusting his glasses. "And I came to the conclusion that, for the sake of actually pulling this off, we should do a simple spell. Summoning a specific demon is far harder. This spell here summons the 'closest demon'. So let's try that."

Out of the corner of his eyes, Jace saw Magnus pause and frown. Wow, his boyfriend was really against this. Tonight, when it would only be the two of them, Jace was going to dig a little deeper as to why Magnus was so against it. So far, he hadn't pecked Magnus as the superstitious type. The other five went through the motions as instructed by Simon and repeated the words he spoke.

"Oh, you got to be kidding me", muttered Magnus beneath his breath as they nearly finished.

Jace threw a confused glance at him but he didn't let it distract him. Instead, he concentrated on the ritual, as silly as it was. He didn't even know why they were doing this. Nothing was going to come forth from it, was it? Or at least, they didn't expect it to, did they? Well, what did it matter, really? Now, they were already too deep into it so why not continue.

"-we call you here, demon", demanded Simon fiercely, followed by the others.

"...How did you manage to actually find a working spell and how did you make it work?"

Magnus sounded no less annoyed than before, but his voice wasn't coming from the couch anymore. It came from inside the pentagram, in the middle of the human circle Jace and the others were forming as they all held hands and stood there. H... How had... How did... When did Magnus get past them? He hadn't. Jace had been watching his boyfriend. He sat on the couch and then he suddenly didn't anymore. Like... magic. But that couldn't be.

"What... just happened?", asked Simon confused. "How... you just... there was purple smoke and then you... Do you have magician training, is this like a trick you've been studying?"

Magnus lifted a hand and twirled it once. The purple smoke returned, surrounding Magnus. As it slowly passed, there were horns on Magnus' head. Big, thick, curvy horns. Magnus heaved a sigh and opened his eyes and Jace wanted to believe those were contact-lenses. Golden cat-like eyes stared directly at Jace with regret and... vulnerability. Whatever was going on, it wasn't a joke.

"I... am Magnus. Son of Asmodeus. Prince of Edom. I'm... an incubus."

"I want to believe this is a prank, but I can genuinely not explain it", muttered Simon.

"Not a prank. I'm a... demon", whispered Magnus. "I didn't... expect you to find an actually working spell. And even if, I had hoped you would... summon someone I didn't know. I didn't expect you to... summon the physically closest demon, I didn't expect you to summon me."

There were many thoughts in Jace's head and he didn't know how to actually put them into words. He didn't know what to say or think, really. It were all just fragmented feelings that collided against each other with sharp edges, scratching each other up, and Jace was caught in the middle of it.

"I need... air. I need air. A lot... A lot of... I just...", was all Jace got out before he practically fled.

He knocked, rapidly, at the door and as soon as it opened, even before he was properly greeted, Jace pushed in. "Why did my mom have actual working magic books? She had those for me. For the pregnancy. The 'miracle' pregnancy, as grandma always calls it. Why? And did you-"

"Ah. So Magnus finally told you", sighed Luke, taking a deep, relieved breath as he led the way to the living room. "Come and sit down, my boy. Believe me, I... wanted to butt in a couple times in the past months. But Magnus' secret was not mine to share, just as Simon and Bat's wasn't."

"And is my mother's secret one you can share? I know you used to be friends with my biological parents, back... back when you were still with Clary's mom. You're supernatural. So... did you... know? Do you know? What... What does it mean that my mom had these books?"

Luke's eyes softened as he motioned at the couch. That didn't bode well. Still, Jace obliged and sat down, staring up at the Alpha wolf in antsy anticipation. This was the first thought that had crossed his mind – even before 'holy shit my boyfriend is a demon', or 'holy shit my boyfriend has hot demon eyes and horns'. The books had belonged to Céline, Jace had always dismissed them, because a desperate woman who truly wanted kids and had tried everything worldly, trying some magic nonsense? Sure, why not. Despair often made people turn to things that weren't real, because they kept the hope going. But knowing they were actually real...

"You were... conceived with demonic intervention", admitted Luke after a beat. "I'm not going to sugar-coat it for you. You deserve the truth, after all these years. Your mom – we... Your mom, your dad, me and Clary's biological parents, we summoned a demon. The Morgenstern. The morning star, is what his name translates to. And Céline made a deal. Céline and Stephen. They didn't... understand what kind of deal they were making. But the day you were born, they both... paid the price. We mourned them and vowed to never speak of this again. Especially since we thought you had died too. I... honestly hadn't thought about that night in... many years."

"So... So what? I'm a demon?", asked Jace nervously, fidgeting with his hands.

"No. You just... you were born with demonic... intervention. If that had any effect on you, I... honestly don't know. You would have to talk to an actual demon for that", offered Luke.

"Like my boyfriend?", asked Jace with a snarky voice.

"Like your boyfriend", confirmed Luke, before he paused for a moment. "...Do not hold it against him. He loves you dearly. It's... hard to know when to tell the person you love. Look at Cat and me. We took... so long... to tell each other our secrets. It's hard, Jace. You need to understand that."

"I do", muttered Jace, running his fingers through his hair. "I do. It's still... a lot."

/break\

"A demon, huh. I didn't... I mean... demons are real, huh?", asked Simon slowly.

He sank down onto the couch, eyes on Magnus. All eyes were on Magnus. Well, all aside from Jace, who had just run out of the house like the literal devil was after him. Magnus would be lying if he said it didn't hurt, but he would also be lying if he said he didn't understand. Having lied to Jace for months now, revealing a so unbelievable secret on accident like this. How could he blame Jace for needing a moment, needing some space, needing to be out of here? Magnus would be out of here if he could, but as it was he was stuck in the pentagram until he would be released.

"So, wait, you were actually genuinely joking?", asked Bat confused. "Dude. We're both werewolves, how did you not consider that demons could be real! Luke's married to a witch."

"I'm sorry, you know about Catarina and Luke? And you're, what?", asked Magnus in disbelief.

Bat looked sheepish and ducked his head. "So... you are not the only one in this house keeping a supernatural secret because you didn't know when's the right time to share it?"

Somehow, that was a relief. At least for a few moments, before his eyes found the Lightwoods.

"Human", offered Isabelle. "We've known about Bat and Simon for a while though; we've all been friends for years. We've been... thinking about how to tell you, but we didn't quite know how."

Snorting amused, Magnus turned a little. "Ah. If you could release me?"

Simon nodded sharply and went ahead to do just that. Once he was freed, Magnus walked over to get himself another drink and then sit down on the couch next to Isabelle.

"Horns, huh. Things between you and Jace must be freaky in the bedroom", noted Isabelle.

"They are, but that has nothing to do with the horns", chuckled Magnus, before he sobered up a little. "He didn't know. I didn't... know how to tell him. Even if I'd known about you guys, I don't know if I'd managed to tell him... I just... I'm a demon. There are... prejudices... against us."

"Jace loves you", argued Bat with a frown. "He wouldn't be bothered by it. And like. I think he'd be into the horns. I sure am. Those are nice horns."

"Bat", grunted Alec pointedly. "Stop it. Can we stay serious?"

"Where... Where did he run off to?", wanted Magnus to know, voice wavering a little.

"I'm sure he'll be fine. He just needs a moment", whispered Alec softly.

He reached out to pat Magnus' knee with a warm look on his face. It made Magnus smile faintly.

"I mean, you got one up from us", offered Simon. "Bat and I had to explain everything about the supernatural to our Lightwoods. Yours already knows the supernatural exists! He just needs to wrap his head around the whole... demon-thing. Which. I'd like to do too. How's that work?"

"Yeah. Let's circle back to that. What kind of demon are you, exactly?", asked Bat.

"I'm an incubus. A... sex-demon. We live off sexual energy – the energy released during sex."

"Well, I'm guessing Jace feeds you well", quipped Simon, getting nudged by Izzy. "What? You know it's true. In this house, we all know way too much about each other's sex-lives."

"That one, sadly, is true", sighed Alec. "But... you're... in love with him? I mean, it's not just... feeding for you? I've seen the way you look at him, the way you are with him, but right now, I think I need to hear you actually say it with words. Just to be sure."

"Always the protective big brother", teased Magnus fondly. "Yes. I... love him. Deeply. That's why I couldn't tell him. I... I was so afraid he would be... disgusted by the idea of being with a demon, that he would never want to see me again."

Alec sighed again and gave his thigh another squeeze. "Give him time. He loves you just as much; this isn't going to change that. He just needs... time."

At that, Magnus forced a smile. For now, at least, he still had his family. And he couldn't explain just how relieved he felt at that. He just needed to wait and hear from his beloved.

"Okay. That seems like we all need drinks to bridge the wait until Jace gets back", declared Izzy.

/break\

It was late, very late, by the time Jace returned. The blonde looked disheveled and a little frantic. Magnus' instincts told him to go and scoop his lover up in his arms and hold him close, but he also knew he needed to give Jace the time and space he may need. Not corner him, regardless of how much all of his instincts told him to be close to his love.

"You were gone a while", commented Alec sleepily.

Mh, here Magnus thought he was the only one awake. Alec sat with his arms crossed over his chest and Bat snuggled against his side. Though Bat, Isabelle and Simon all looked actually asleep. Jace turned to look at Alec, a frown deeply etched into his features like a tragic statue.

"I was... talking to Luke. There was... There was even more to digest there", sighed Jace.

"What... What is it, love?", asked Magnus gently, nervously.

His horns were gone, his eyes normal again. He looked proper human once more. Jace turned again and faced him now, looking so desperate and confused – and vulnerable.

"I needed to... to talk to someone who knows more about the supernatural. More than me. Or our two wolves – since they had only been turned late in life. I just. Demons. That's a lot. And... knowing the spells in the books are real. Are actually real. The books in my grandmother's attic, the ones my parents had owned. I... I had questions. I needed answers."

"And did... Luke have any answers?", asked Alec, watching Jace pace in front of them.

"I don't know. I feel more like... I am more lost than ever", sighed Jace and sat down slowly.

"What... What did he say?", asked Magnus, still unsure if he should speak up at all.

"I was made with a demon's help", blurted Jace out, running his fingers through his hair and resting his head in his hands. "Turns out my parents used those books. And summoned a real, actual demon. A morning star, says Luke. They made a deal with a demon so mom could get pregnant. And... I... was the result of that. And that's... why they... died. That was the price to pay."

"Wait. The... morning star... Y... You...", whispered Magnus wide-eyed.

"W... What does that mean? Why do you say it like that?", asked Jace tensely.

"The morning star is Lucifer. The king of kings", replied Magnus, voice low. "To make a deal with him is... that... That explains quite a lot."

"W... Why... What does it explain?", wanted Jace to know, tensing up even more.

"Relax, my love. It's nothing bad", assured Magnus gently, reaching out for his lover. "Your... energy. You taste... very... very special. I've never tasted anything like you. But if you have demonic magic running through your body, that explains why you taste so special."

"Great. I'm a special sna-", started Jace, just to pause.

He turned toward Magnus and suddenly burst into laughter, loud enough to wake Simon, Bat and Isabelle. Everyone turned toward Jace, though Magnus was simply enthralled by the laughter.

"You cheeky bastard", managed Jace out between laughter. "You kept calling me a snack. You were being literal, you... you... I am your snack. Literally."

"I... yes, you are", confirmed Magnus, tentatively smiling himself. "Are you... not mad?"

"Honestly, I don't know what I feel about all of that yet", admitted Jace as he slowly stopped laughing. "I just... know that I love you. Everything else, we can figure out later. Okay?"

Magnus felt so relieved, he sagged back in his seat. "Okay. That's... perfectly fine, my love."

Smiling at him, Jace went to sit down right next to Magnus and snuggling up to him. He rested his head on Magnus' chest and he could hear the way Magnus' heartbeat evened out. Like he calmed down. Tilting his head up, Jace placed a gentle kiss on Magnus' cheek. A press of lips, a reassurance that Jace was here, for him, that Jace still loved him.

"I'm dating a demon", hummed Jace. "That's... Demon prince trumps werewolf, you know."

"Does not!", chorused Simon and Bat offended, while Magnus laughed softly and relieved.
