MIDORIYA

CHRISTMAS DAY

"How is the turkey looking?" I ask mom. She looks in the oven.

"It's coming along well," she says peeking into the oven. "Your stuffing appears to be cooking well too."

"Awesome," I reply with a smile. I walk back into the living room area where Enji and Todoroki are. Todoroki is all into his phone while his dad is watching TV. The fireplace is going and I must admit the Christmas tree we put up looks good. It certainly feels more like the Christmas I am use to. In the mountains, snow outside on the ground, holidays movies playing on the TV, and a fire going. Enji glances at me.

"Are you all ready to open presents?" he asks.

"Once the food is done!" exclaims mom walking into the living room sitting beside him. "Todoroki are you having a good time so far? I know this isn't what you are use to."

"It's good," says Todoroki. I seem him shift a tiny bit with his eyes. He is actually nervous. I didn't know he could be nervous. I make sure to look away from him, so he doesn't know that I saw this. I go back to watching the Christmas movie that is currently on. The food is ready in another hour. Mom and I set up the table because we are use to doing this. Enji wanted to help but we told him to relax. I'm excited as we get to actually open gifts now that the food is ready is ready. I haven't gotten a gift in a while and I'm rather looking forward to it.

"We should let the kids go first," says mom. Enji nods in agreement. I decide to open his gift first. I see Todoroki with his dad gift as well. We both have the same wrapping paper. I open the gift seeing inside the box is a certificate to a dojo.

"Wow um thanks," I reply holding it up so my mom can see it. Enji is grinning.

"Glad you like it!" he exclaims. "What you think son?" I look and see Todoroki got the same thing. Does he even need any additional training?

"Thank you, father," he replies with a stone face. He doesn't sound or look happy.

"Open mine!" mom exclaims. I chuckle because she usually isn't so excited about these things. Todoroki opens the box. He pulls it out and I see mom got him an iPod. God! She got him that. What is he going to even think about what I got him?

"Thank you," replies Todoroki. "I have always wanted one."

"Really?" asked Enji. Todoroki nods as I go to opening my mom gift. I pull it out seeing mom got me a LeMillon hoodie.

"Mom!" I exclaim. "I love it!" I stand up putting the hoodie on right away. It fits perfectly. Mom chuckles.

"You are always saying how he reminds you of All Might so I thought you would like that," she explains. I nod smiling.

"No Endeavor?" says Enji. Mom playful hits his arm causing him to chuckle.

"I can't believe LeMillion was a student at U.A. when I was a first year," I reply. "I wish I could have met him. You know like ask him questions, maybe be friends!" I can't help it as I giggle like a damn schoolgirl.

"Well someone is a big fan," notes Enji.

"I am," I reply. I glance at Todoroki. I can't read his face but I suddenly feel really stupid. I grab his gift opening it quickly. I'm surprised by what is inside. I pull out a red pair of chucks. Red is my all time favorite color, dark teal coming in second. I have red chucks but they are so dirty now. I refused to get rid of them until I had some new ones.

"You like it?" asked Todoroki. I nod my head yes. Todoroki opens my gift. He holds up the turtleneck sweater. He looks surprised. I got him a white one, he seems to look good in white. Todoroki looks into the box realizing there was something more. He pulls out the jeans I brought him. They go really well with the white turtleneck. I couldn't pass them up. "This is really nice." He actually smiles. I begin to grin happy that he likes what I got him.

"Inko, did you want to open your gift?" asks Enji.

"Yes!" mom exclaims. She reaches for the box. It is the size of a laptop. The way she is handling it I know it isn't heavy. Mom rips the paper making me curious as to what he got her. She pulls out a little box. Oh my god, is he going to propose. My mom glances at Enji and he just smiles. I want to see how Todoroki is reacting, but I can't turn away. Mom open the little box to reveal a pair of diamond earrings.

"Enji!" she exclaims. He leans in kissing my mom's cheek.

"Do you like it?" he asks. I can see the happy tears in my moms eyes.

"I love it," she replies. Todoroki stands up and begins to walk away.

"Shouto," calls his father. "Where are you going?"

"To the restroom," he replies. He walks away. I know it is because he needs some space. Mom shows me the earrings up close and holy cow they had to cost him no less than a grand. Such a crazy amount to spend on such a little thing but who am I to judge. After a few minutes I notice that Todoroki is still gone. However, I'm not the only one.

"What is that boy doing?" says Enji standing up. "It's time to eat. I need to check on him."

"I'll do it," I replied. "I don't mind." I walk out the room not giving him the chance to respond. Something tells me that Todoroki would not want to see his father. I get to the hall bathroom knocking on the door. I don't hear anything at all. I wait a few minutes before knocking again. "Todoroki?"

"Yeah," he says from behind me. I turn around grabbing my chest. He is was in his room. He is standing in the doorway glaring at me. I notice his eyes are red. I slowly walk over to him.

"Are you okay?" I ask carefully.

"I'm fine," he says softly. He is not fine, something is wrong. I want to make him feel better if I can.

"Did you think he was going to propose too?" I ask. Todoroki looks annoyed.

"God, I hope not," he replies. "Nothing against your mom of course."

"Oh okay," I replied. I'm trying to understand him, but it seems like every time I do I get more confused. "Dinner is ready. You ready to eat?"

"Actually yes," he replies. I smile as he walks off down the hall.
