Once the flurry of activity for the casino's grand opening died down and we were able to hire more people to staff the tables our training routine was resumed, and at our 1st meditation we had both Basho and Kurapika there to lead it! I was surprised because Kurapika never came to meditation- hell we barely saw him during training! But when our mediation came to a close the mistry was solved, "Krys I promised to help you learn Nen" he began "So Basho will demonstrate his."
Basho was scribbling on his ubiquitous note pad, he held up something that looked like complete chicken scratches- lines and dashes filled the page and if they hadn't been grouped in clusters I would have thought it was a rorschach ink blot test. "In the language of my homeland this says 'Thous that I punch will
In flames burst a bunch' " and then he hit a chair and it went up like it had been doused in gasoline.
"Basho's Nen is a bit less intense that Melody's so we're going to borrow it today." Kurapika explained as he flicked something at Basho and the weird thing was Basho seemed to shrink, he didn't appear to move yet he was somehow less in your face than normal.
Then Kurapika flicked something at me and a dolphin was floating by my shoulder "ready to activate Nen", and I understood what Basho had written on his pad and how to form the words. I took the proffered pad and filled it with script then punched my own chair and it to burst into flames "Nen activated, ready for dismissal" the dolphin chirped "Dismissal?" I echoed and the dolphin faded from view. "What the hell was that?" I exclaimed.
"Nen! I used my Nen to borrow Basho's and give it to you and you used it to set a chair on fire." Kurapika coolly explained while smothering the 2 fires with the fire extinguisher. "I told you that poem was good enough."
"I don't like to repeat my self, and such a dud! It was more of an embarrassment" Basho replied sheepishly.
"Dud or not it created enough destruction without undo collateral damage, I wouldn't want her to be deaf for days like when I tried Melody's Nen!" Kurapika shuddered.
"I don't know it gave you a vacation from listening to the Nostrade's" Bash quipped back.
"Not a good enough reason to try that ever again, I don't know how she can stand the constant noise." Kurapika turned back to me "Now forcing my Nen apron you is an attack, and in your Nenless state your helpless to defend your self. So this is not the preferred way to awaken Nen but you should be able to start the water divination tomorrow, if you see anything like mist wafting from your skin imagine it's a blanket and wrap it back around yourself." And just like that he swept away.
