The next morning Jazz carefully watched her parents as they sat down and had breakfast, noting Mom stopping Dad from having fudge and trying to convince him to have a couple of fruits with their pancakes and orange juice.
Ginger red hair…
Purple eyes…
"Help me…" The person pleaded.
That voice.
That face.
She couldn't stop thinking about it.
So much so that she just blurted out the question that had rose like a bubble to the top of her mind for a whole night. "Mom, Dad, do me and Danny have a brother?"
…
…
…
For once in her life Jazz got to see what her father looked like when he was completely silent, in addition to his mouth hanging open with pancakes stuff inside. Her mother on the other hand was just as still and silent but her skin was now as pale as Danny in his ghost form.
"It's true, isn't it?" Jazz pressed. "We have a brother."
"Wh-Wha-What-What-What are you talking about?" Maddie stuttered as Jack quickly swallowed his food but started to choke a bit. "Of course not. Why would you think that?"
"Because, I have these flashes where I swear I remember someone…Someone who was with us." Jazz slowly said, analyzing the expressions on her parents' faces. "You know who I am talking about, don't you?"
"Now sweetie, I am sure you are just imagining-"
"No, I'm not. I got a degree in psychology, Mom. I know when someone is lying to me and I know you trying to avoid telling me the truth." Jazz leaned forward. "Who was he? What happened to him?"
Jack turned away while Maddie was trembling now. "Jazz…"
"Please. You owe me and Danny the truth."
Maddie fell to her knees and began sobbing as Jack hugged her. "It's true…You have an older brother. Flynn, his name was Flynn."
"Was?" Jazz slowly asked.
"We lost him…" Jack said sorrowfully. "When Danny was two and you were four…"

Flynn Fenton was a curious little boy.
He got that from his mother's side of the family. He heard his parents working on stuff related to ghost. He didn't get all the science talk but thought it was really cool.
He heard them talking about a portal.
So that night he went down there, seeing the ghost portal in the Fenton Lab. He saw the On and Off buttons and pressed the green button for On. Flynn stood there, watching as a green vortex of light came to life in front of him, mesmerizing his innocent mind.
"Wow…" The boy muttered, staring into the portal.
It was shimmering and glowing as he stared at it.
A whole new world out there.
What was on the other side?
What could in there?
Flynn didn't want to know.
He knew it could be dangerous and knew he should being his parents down here with him.
But that didn't stop him from leaning forward to get a closer look as he was an adventurer like his dad.
Still he decided not to go in and turned away…
Just as a green hand came out and grabbed him, pulling him into the portal.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!"

"WHAT?!"
Danny's voice echoed through campus, waking up almost everyone in his dorm with his reaction to the phone call he was getting.
"….Are you sure?"
"It's true, Danny." Jazz said after her brother had a moment to calm down. "We had an old brother. He was born just a few months after Mom and Dad graduated colleague and got married. His name was Flynn, Flynn Fenton. You were two years old and I was four. I barely had any memories at the time and you were too young to remember."
Danny was shaking now as he fell down onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling. "What happened?"
"He disappeared one night and the next morning Mom and Dad found looked through the security cameras. Flynn had gone down into the lab and he turned on the portal, just like you did."
"Did he-"
"No. He wasn't turned into a ghost but he was taken by one. Something reached and grabbed him and he was pulled in. After that the portal overloaded and Mom and Dad spent the next following years trying to get it up and running again." Jazz explained, her voice a mix of sadness and shame. "They were trying to get it up and running again to find him. That's why they were working on all those ghost weapons like the Fenton Exo-Skeleton and the vehicles. To look for Flynn."
"But why didn't they tell us?" Danny turned over on his side. "And what have they been doing up to now?"
"They were ashamed and scared, Danny. They thought it was their fault Flynn was gone. They were sending probes into the Ghost Zone and they blamed ghosts for Flynn's disappearance." Jazz continued. "They couldn't find him, even when they got the portal up and running. Then when the portal was destroyed and the government tried to shut us down…"
The interference from the government had forced Jack and Maddie to cease their plans to make a ghost portal of their own again.
But there was a loophole they found.
Vlad's ghost portal in Wisconsin.
When Vlad had moved everything to Amity Park when he became mayor his old castle had been left abandoned, especially after it was destroyed by the Guys in White following Danny's prank call. Luckily, even though the castle was destroyed the ghost lab in the underground basement remained intact. They dismantled and smuggled it back to their lab and easily replaced their destroyed one while making sure the government never knew about it.
"That's why they worked so hard to find Vlad's portal and hide it from the government." Danny realized as he sat up. "They wanted another way into the Ghost Zone."
Suddenly a whole lot of things were making sense now.
But still…
"How could they just keep this a secret from all of us?" Danny muttered into the phone. "Even after they found out my secret they could have said 'Hey Danny, now that you're a ghost can you fly into the Ghost Zone and find the brother we lost and never told you about?'"
"I know, Danny. Believe me, I know." Jazz sighed. "So what do we do?"
"What we should have done years ago." Danny said as he stood up from his bed. "After classes end today, I'm coming back home and we are finding our brother."
And they wouldn't stop for anything.
Not for the government.
Not for all the evil ghosts in the Ghost Zone.
Not for Damon Gray.
Nobody.

His quarry was near.
Though the human world was different from the Ghost Zone he knew how to move without being seen. The hook on the end of his staff was glowing, showing his target was indeed close by.
He would find the ghost boy.
This Danny Phantom.
And he would carry out his mission to eliminate him.
This was his lady's command.
Xxx
"You have an older brother?"
Sam couldn't believe it.
Not that Danny could blame her.
He almost didn't believe it himself.
"And he's been lost in the Ghost Zone all this time?" Sam continued asking.
Danny could only nod as he stared at his reflection in the pond in the courtyard of the campus. His mind was racing with a million questions and scenarios.
Was his brother, Flynn Fenton still alive?
Was he turned into a hybrid like he and Vlad were?
If he was still alive where was he?
Would he recognize him and Jazz?
Would he want to come home?
Did he hate his family for never finding him?
How could Mom and Dad keep this a secret for so long?
All this time they had been working in the Fenton Lab, developing anti-ghost weapons and the Ghost Portal and had never told him and Jazz about their missing brother, even after the Disasteroid when Danny had revealed his secret identity to the entire world. Danny couldn't help but feel a little betrayed that his parents had never told him, especially since he gained the courage to tell them to truth after all the times they hunted him with threatened to dissect and tear him apart 'molecule by molecule'. He was their son, the hero who saved not one but two worlds and when he came out he told them everything.
Even about his secret clone, Danielle who was still missing along with Valerie.
"Danny?"
Danny glanced up at Sam who was staring at him in concern. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah I…I am just trying to process it all." Danny said, looking back at the pond. "All this time, they kept this a secret and I only find out from Jazz over the phone."
They didn't even have the courage to tell it to him face to face.
Maddie and Jack Fenton who cruised around Amity Park without a care of what the people thought of them and bravely challenge any ghost in their sight, even the non-evil ones.
How could they keep this a secret from him?
"Danny?" Sam asked, shaking him from his thoughts.
Danny just shook his head. "I got to go."
He shifted into his ghost form and took off into the air, leaving Sam to just watch him leave in worry. "…Danny."
Xxx
Danny flew away from the college, opting for a more private setting, away from it all. He just couldn't be around anyone like this.
He needed to be alone.
No people.
No ghosts.
Or that had been what he had hoped for.
Just as Danny landed on the ground and green glowing sickle like hook shot out of the bushes and slammed into his head, knocking him off his feet. "GAH!"
The hook was attached to a chain that was pulled right back into the bushes as a figure in a dark cloak leapt out, swinging his weapon down on Danny's head. Danny quickly rolled out of the way, jumped to his feet and fired an ecto-blast. The attacker raised its staff and swung the hook end at the ecto-beam, splitting in two. The now two ecto-beams flew past him and blasted the ground behind him.
"Who are you?" Danny asked, clenching his fists. "No ghost sense. So you must be just another wannabee hunter."
This wasn't anything new.
Even after the Disasteriod ghost hunters from all over the world had come to fight Danny, for one reason or another.
"Look pal, I'm not in the mood for this. So turn around and leave and this doesn't have to get messy." Danny said, doing his best to look threatening even though he would never actually harm a human.
The cloaked man held out his free arm and a long chain fell out, hitting the ground. The man started twirling this chain as he got ready to attack.
"Messy way it is then." Danny sighed, preparing to freeze this hunter with his ice powers.
The person whipped his chain at him and Danny went intangible, planning to freeze this guy as soon as he was solid again.
Only when the chain collided with his intangible form, instead of passing through him it wacked him on the head, causing him to stagger as he let out a cry of pain. The attack charged forward, bashing Danny on the head with the blunt end of his staff and kicked the ghost boy down. Opening his eyes, Danny gasped as the attacker prepared to impale him and quickly phased into the ground. Narrowing his eyes the attack spun his staff and plunged the blunt end into the ground.
The ground suddenly started to turn red and there was a scream as Danny shot up, floating up in the air and shaking badly.
"What was that?! Felt like…Blood Blossom!" Danny realized why this pain felt so familiar.
Blood Blossoms were a flower capable of harming ghosts in the form of a red vapor which he found out the hard way during his trip through time thanks to the Infi-Map.
Only this time it felt worse.
He looked at the staff and realized it must be carrying a liquid form of the Blood Blossoms, made into some kind of poison for ghosts.
"Okay, so you've obviously come prepared." Danny said, deciding it best to keep his distance and attack from where the attack couldn't reach. "But you can't catch me up here."
The attack slashed the ground with the , creating a ghost portal and jumped into it.
"Wha-" Danny was barely able to process what he had seen just as a shadow fell over him.
He had time to look up as the blunt end of the green glowing hook slammed into his head, knocking him down. Danny cried out as he crashed into the ground, hard. He was left in a daze as he struggled to get up and his image was blurry as he lifted his head. The cloaked man stood above him, raising his hook to finish him off…
Eyes widening Danny quickly shouted. "GET AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY FRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOM MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
His voice had a Ghostly Wail added which blasted the attacker away, knocking down a dozen trees in the process. The attacker spun his staff, creating a ghost portal that he fell into just before he crashed into the ground and likely would have every bone in his body broken. As for Danny he collapsed to the ground, changing back into his human form as he blacked out.
"Danny!"
He could have sworn he heard voices just as he slipped away into the land of dreams.

In the Ghost Zone, Exodus landed on a floating asteroid that had been waiting on the other side of the portal he had made.
He had failed…
No, not yet.
First encounter with the enemy rarely goes according to plan.
He had tested the ghost boy's power and almost had him. Only an act of pure desperation and instinct had saved him in the end.
This was good.
He had seen the ghost boy's strengths and weaknesses.
He now knew what to expect.
He would wait and recover for the time being.
And this time he would wait for the ghost boy to come to him.
"For Lady Misery." He vowed silently to himself before jumping off the asteroid and into the deep vortex like void of the Ghost Zone.
Xxx
He was trapped in the Ghost Zone.
He remembered this from the day when the Disasteroid nearly destroyed the Earth.
He came here to recruit all these ghosts that had surrounded him.
Skulker
Technus
Fright Knight
Desiree
Ember
Kitty
Johnny 13
Lunch Lady
Captain Youngblood
Spectra
Bertram
Walker
Box Ghost
Poindexter
Clockwork
And so many more.
He watched as one ghost appeared in front of him, staring at him with sad and pleading eyes. "Dani?"
"Why didn't you save me?" She asked, tears dripping from her eyes. "You promised no one would hurt me anymore! You liar!"
"Is it a surprise?"
He turned around, seeing a young woman wearing a black and red metallic suit behind him. "Valerie?"
"You ruin my life, you lie to me and trick me into thinking I was protecting you. Only for me to find out I was protecting the enemy all along!" Valerie growled.
"I didn't mean to hurt you. I was trying to stop that dog." Danny protested. "It was Vlad's fault. He set us both up."
"And you think a simple apology would help?" Valerie retorted. "Admit it, you were happy one of the popular teens was taken down a peg so I'd know what it'd feel like to be you."
"And what about me? I was left all alone." Dani spoke next.
"You left!" Danny argued.
"Because I didn't think you'd want me to stay!" Dani shouted. "I thought you wouldn't want a clone of you hanging out with you under the same roof. How could I stay and not think I was anything but a mirror reflection of you?"
Did Dani really think like that?
"Is it any surprise?" Ember's voice cut in.
Danny watched as Ember appeared, her teenage form becoming bloated. "Ember? What's happening-"
She was turning into her future self where her vocal cords had been destroyed by him!
"Everyone you touch suffers!" Ember shouted. "Your family, you friends, but most importantly us!"
"And especially him!" Everyone pointed behind Danny.
He turned around to see…
Ginger red hair…
Purple eyes…
"Help me…" The person pleaded.
Xxx
Danny screamed as he sat up on a bed and found himself in his room back at Fenton Works. He looked out the window, seeing it was dark out.
He had been brought back here.
And this is exactly where he wanted to be.
Throwing the covers off, he changed into his ghost form and phased down into the basement.
He had a brother to save.
Xxx
"CLOCKWORK!"
The ghost of time didn't move as Danny Phantom flew into his lair. "Yes, Daniel?"
"You knew I had a brother lost in the Ghost Zone the whole time, didn't you?" Danny accused as he stopped a few feet from the time ghost, hands on his hips as he landed on the ground. "All this time you claimed to be helping me and you couldn't give me a heads up about a brother I never knew was missing."
"I am not responsible for the mistakes and misfortunes of your family aside only from those caused by my own actions." Clockwork turned to face Danny.
"Don't play word games with me, Clockwork." Danny snapped, pointing at the ghost who changed into a child. "You've been invested in me since you helped change my future so you had to know about Flynn. I want to know what happened to him and where he is if he's still alive. You owe me the truth at the very least."
Clockwork shifted into his elderly form. "Just as you owe me for choosing to help you change your future rather than destroying you like the Observants originally tasked me to do?"
Danny scowled but said nothing.
"I am not blind to your feelings, Daniel but I am not here to help you at every turn. This situation surrounding your brother was a result of human folly and error on your parents' side while on the ghost side…" Clockwork sighed as he returned to his adult form. "I'm afraid it goes back to when the Ghost King was first sealed away with a ghost named Misery Vex."
