The sun slowly disappeared behind the horizon.
Samus sat by herself on one of the hillsides that lined the Mansion. Everyone else had retreated to the mansion. The sunset had been beautiful. She realized that during the entire excitement of Tag, she hadn't even realized that her side was aching again. It wasn't as light this time though. It was more of a throbbing.
It's probably just a stretched muscle. Samus shook it off, and decided that it wasn't exactly a smart idea to be outside the mansion at night.
She made her way up towards the large doors.
The inside of the mansion was dark. It wasn't too late, so everyone couldn't possibly be asleep already. The loud racket from inside the common room answered her question.
She leaned against the doorframe of the lounge. There were at least fifteen Smashers in it. A couple playing video games, board games, chatting about how their day full of training had gone.
She spotted Falcon seated in an arm chair on the opposite side of the room and walked over to join him.
She sat herself down, and he immediately noticed.
"Hey, did the sunset look nice?" He asked. He had his helmet back on.
"Yeah." She responded, a bit dryly too, apparently.
"Something wrong?"
"No?" I miss your deep eyes and soft complexion, but other than that yeah, I'm fine.
He continued.
"I was going to join you, but... I got caught up in a game at the Pool table.."
She smirked. "Oh really?" He smiled at her. She liked his smile, but she wanted to see his whole face when he did it.
"I uh... I wanted to talk to you.." he started.
Samus raised her head a bit, staring into his visor.
"Alone."
She felt some of her nerves tense up in her chest.
About what? Why on earth am I nervous when I've done nothing wrong? This sucked. Unclear emotions swimming around in her head and heart.
"Maybe we can wait for the others to leave." He suggested, moving his leg back and forth as if he too were nervous.
"Sure.." Samus suddenly wanted everyone to leave. To her surprise, it wasn't too long until the Smashers, especially the youngsters, started to slowly file out of the room. Fox was the last to leave, telling the two that he would 'see them tomorrow'. He turned out the lights as if he had forgot they were still in there.
It was dark now. Samus could hardly make out her companion's shape, but she could sense his warmth. She could also hear his breathing.
"Samus.." he started but got cut off by the bounty huntress.
"Before you continue, can you please take off your helmet?" She asked.
Why the hell did I say that? Now he's gonna assume I'm some clingy ass chick who wants to make out with him.
But instead of questioning her, he did as she said, unbuckling his helmet and propping it on his knee. He continued.
"I know that this is quick, and I think I know what you'll say, but I was wondering if you would.."
If I would what?
"If you would want to get some coffee sometime and get to know each other better.."
Samus knew what he was going to say, yet at the same time she was surprised by his suggestion. The man, who had all the women in the world who would gladly sacrifice their virginity for him, chose her? The dense, sarcastic huntress who didn't even know how to control her own feelings?
She saw him look down. Shit. She taken too long to respond. But how would she? She felt something for him, but she wasn't entirely sure what it was. She was confused by it, scared. How the hell was she supposed to start living if she couldn't make up her mind about one person who meant somethings to her.
Enough. She had been living in her past and in the cold darkness of loneliness for too long. Her bewildered mind had already stopped her from doing enough.
"Y-yeah, sure." She finally said, breaking the unwanted silence.
The racer raised his eyebrows in surprise.
He thought I was going to say no.
They made eye contact. It wasn't much, but it was enough for Samus to feel the light warmth of his lips against hers. She felt his hands on her neck, pulling her closer. She didn't resist. She felt as if she had longed for this. But did she?
She then pulled away, and rested her head on his shoulder.
"I don't want anyone to know.." she whispered.
"It's alright. No one will." His tone was stern but comforting.
She sniffed in his chestnut locks.
"I don't like your shampoo."
Another short chapter, I apologize ಥ_ಥ
I also apologize if the FalSam moment at this part sounded a bit rushed. I panicked, and didn't know how to handle the romance because I've never had a romantic experience in my life. But anyways, I hope you enjoyed the chapter!
Reviews, favorites and what not are greatly appreciated!
