"Kaneki...Kaneki, wake up!" Kaneki could hear from a distance and was struggling to open his eyes. "Hide?" he asked and opened his eyes, seeing Hide, Yomo, Ayato and Tsukiyama looking down at him. Behind them, he got to see very high mountains and the gray sky. 'Mountains?' he thought. He sat up and looked around. There were rocks everywhere. They weren't in Tokyo anymore. "Where...where are we? What happened?"
"We were fallowing the Snake when you suddenly fainted," Ayato answered.
"You fell like a big bag of potatoes," Hide grinned, "we had to carry you."
"Where are we?"
"We don't know, Kaneki, we just fallowed that Snake out of the city and he brought us here to the mountains. Tokyo is not far though."
"How could I have fainted?" Kaneki touched his head, "where is the Snake?"
The four guys looked at a mountain. "He told us to wait here," Tsukiyama sighed.
Kaneki stood up and suddenly, five men began to walk out of the mountain and stared back at them. The guy that took them there was there. Kaneki's friends gathered around him and Yomo stood next to Kaneki. "Tsukiyama, the king," Yomo said.
"Is okay, Yomo," Kaneki replied, not taking his eyes off of the men.
"Um...will they try to kill us?" Hide asked softly.
The five men got out of the way, making space for another man to walk out. He was tall, with long black hair in a low ponytail. He had broad shoulders and the top buttons of his shirt were unbotton and showed his chest. He had a serious face and a small frown.
Kaneki and him exchanged eye sights like if they were old enemies. "I can finally see you in person," the man said. His voice was deep.
"What do you have against me?" Kaneki asked, glaring back, "why were my friends and wife attacked? I know it was planned."
The man smiled a bit. "We need to eat just like you."
"Ghouls?!" Ayato snapped.
"Humans or Ghouls, is the same for us, you know why? Because both spicies are weak."
Kaneki clenched his teeth.
"Don't take it personal, One Eyed King."
"Why did you go then to the cafe and attack my wife?!" Kaneki shouted.
"Ken," Yomo said softly.
The man stoped smiling and glared again. "Listen, I have nothing else to tell you. If you care about your nation or youself, get out of my sight!" he said.
"I'm not going anywhere until you answer!" Tsukiyama and Ayato hold Kaneki back.
The man turned around and began to walk towards the entrance again.
"If my wife dies, I will kill you! You and all of the Snakes! You don't know me! I can easily finish you!" Kaneki was out of control and Hide had to hold him back as well.
The man stoped walking and turned to look at him again. "You bastard, take back what you said!" he groweled.
His eyes turned black and his fangs grew. Kaneki's red eye appeared and was ready to get his kagune out. "Stay behind," Kaneki told his friends.
"But Kaneki,"
"Do what I say!"
"You are not going back to Tokyo alive!"
The men around him also grew their fangs and their eyes turned into different Snake eyes. Suddenly, the cold breeze was felt again. Kaneki noticed that the Snakes looked aside. Him and the guys also did it, to see what were they looking at.
A woman was walking towards them with a few men and women next to her. She wore a skirt and a short sleeve shirt. Her hair was light brown, let go and with a shiny bobby pin holding part of her bang. Blue eyes, pink cheeks and lips. She was calm and stood a few inches away from them. She looked at Kaneki and his friends. "Kiyomi," the man said.
"What's going on, Kaito?" she asked and looked down.
"Is the One Eyed King."
The woman looked at Kaito and back at Kaneki.
"And who are you?" Ayato asked, frowning.
"Who are you to ask her that?!" Kaito snaped.
"Enough!" Kiyomi said.
Kaneki thought for a moment that he was going to have to fight them both now. But for some reason he could feel that the woman was much stronger than Kaito.
"Why did you come?" Kiyomi asked him.
"I need to know why you attacked my wife. I know that is something against me. Also... who are all of you? Where do you all come from?"
Hide stared at Kiyomi. That face, he had seen it before. "Kaneki," he whispered, "I have seen her before but don't remember where."
Kaneki looked at him from the corner of his eye and back at her and Kaito.
"You are wasting your time coming here," she replied, "there is nothing to talk about. Leave."
"Listen, I'm not going anywhere until you answer all my damn questions!" Kaneki snaped, "that guy and that girl brough us here so you could answer them!"
Kiyomi, faster than a ray of lightning, threw them some type of dust from her hand. In less than three seconds, Kaneki and his friends were unconcious.
The guys woke up in the same place where they met that guy and girl. "What the hell happened?" Ayato asked, getting up.
"Damn, I got a terrible headache," Tsukiyama muttered.
Kaneki looked around. The place seemed to be normal. Some people still passing by doing workouts and looking at them weirdly wondering what were they doing laying down in the middle of their way.
"Now what do we do?" Yomo asked.
Hide grabbed his head. "Come on! Ah! I know that girl from somewhere! Where? Where?"
"Don't force yourself too much. Your head will explode," Ayato told him.
Kaneki sighed and covered his face with his hands. "Now what?"
"There is nothing else you can do, Ken," Yomo said, "all we need to do now is hope that Touka recovers soon and to keep everyone safe. Then, you can keep invastigating."
"How could I have fallen for that?" Kaneki asked, "I...she...I didn't see her coming that fast and when I least expected it, I was so sleepy and couldn't control it."
Tsukiyama crossed his arms in front of his chest. "These creatures are strong. That girl, to me, is their Queen or leader."
"Kaneki, we need to talk to her without that Kaito guy knowing," Hide said, "it seemed that she didn't want to talk in front of everyone. Maybe she will if it's only us."
Kaneki sighed and nodded. "I will see what I can do."
