"Hey, Oscar, I want to ask you something really quick!" Ruby called out to the former harmhand as she tried to catch up to him.

Oscar turned around and stopped, allowing Ruby to finally catch up with him. He had been headed back to his dorm after another round of training with Ironwood, this time with Qrow added into the mix. Yes, he was exhausted and a little bruised, but Oscar always found the time for Ruby whenever she needed him.

"What's up?" he asked, a small smile forming on his face.

"I just wanted to ask you if you wanted a kiss," Ruby answered, "Everyone else got one and you were training with Ironwood, so I thought it'd be fair to ask you too."

Oscar's face went red in less than two seconds flat. He was not expecting that to come out of Ruby's mouth. And what brought this on, anyway?! Hang on,...what did she mean the others had gotten theirs?! Ruby meant platonic kisses, right?!

Ruby's face scrunched up in confusion, "Um, Oscar, are you okay?"

"Yeah," he squeaked back, earning a small giggle from Ruby, "That question just kinda...caught me off guard."

That's when the light bulb went off in Ruby's head, "Hang on. Did you think I meant an actual kiss? Like, on the lips or something."

"What else would you mean?!"

Shaking her head in hopelessness, Ruby pulled out a small bag of familiar chocolate teardrops and said, "I meant one of these, silly. And, for the record, I don't go around kissing everybody. Thought you knew that about me by now."

"R-Right. Sorry," Oscar apologized, extending his hand, "I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions."

A smile returning to her face, Ruby poured a couple of candies into Oscar's awaiting hand, which he thanked her for awkwardly. She grabbed one of her own and began to unwrap it, but an idea popped into her head.

"Hey, Oscar?" she said, earning his attention.

"Yeah?" he asked.

Oscar then felt Ruby's lips press onto his, his eyes widening in shock while Ruby's hand rested on his cheek. But he also felt one of the chocolates pressing against his mouth too, meaning Ruby was attempting to give him one via an actual kiss. He didn't really have time to think as Ruby pulled away moments later, leaving him to hold the chocolate kiss in between his teeth. She waved goodbye and walked past him, Oscar now chewing on the chocolate and wondering one thing.

"What just happened right now?"

As he headed back to his dorm, for some strange reason, Oscar could have sworn he could hear Qrow singing "That's Amore!" in the distance. Great. Hanging his head, Oscar knew that Qrow wouldn't let him forget this any time soon. So much for trying to live it down.
