Chapter 5: Costumes Maketh The Fleetwood

Lewis hummed to the music he was listening to as he walked to school. He was in a punk/new wave mood today and decided to play his late 70s playlist.

It was Lewis' mother, Lilith, who got him hooked on music. She loved 20th century music, especially from the 60s to 90s, and was a collector of LP albums from The Beatles to The Stone Roses. Lewis inherited her collection after his parents' death and he would treasure them like his father's magician hat.

Music was a way for Lewis to still feel connected to her.

Lewis was so wrapped up in his thoughts that he jumped with somebody tapped his shoulder.

Spinning around he saw it was the girl with the earphone jacks for earlobes.

She gave a lazy smile as Lewis recovered from his shock and took out his ear phones.

"Oh...Err...hello. Sorry didn't notice you," Lewis apologised.

"Sorry for making you jump," she said coolly, "I tried to call out, but..." she gestured to his ear phones.

"Oh right, sorry again," Lewis said nervously.

"You don't have to keep apologising," she told him with a raised eyebrow.

"Right sor-" Lewis managed to catch himself, "I don't believe we've introduce ourselves, I'm Lewis-"

"Fleetwood, yeah I remember from the quirk test yesterday," she cut him off as they started to walk to school together, "my name's Jiro Kyoka," she introduced herself.

Lewis smiled anxiously, "Nice to finally meet you...properly I mean."

Jiro just shrugged in reply. They both walked in an uncomfortable silence. Well, uncomfortable for Lewis, Jiro seemed to be nonplussed.

Lewis was about to ask her anything to break It silence before Jiro beat him to it.

"What were you listening to?" She asked curiously.

"Err," Lewis fumbled with his ear phones for a moment, "it's 'Road To Nowhere' by the Talking Heads," Lewis answered.

To Lewis' joy, she brightened up as if she recognised the name. He didn't want to explain why he was listening to music centuries old.

"Talking Heads," Jiro said, "as in 'Psycho Killer'. I thought they were a one hit wonder."

"They had a lot of hits," Lewis replied, happy they were talking about something he knew, "like 'Burning Down The House', 'Once In A Life Time' and 'And She Was'."

"Can I listen?" Jiro asked politely.

Lewis nodded and handed her the earphone he wasn't using. He replayed the song and judging by the small smile on her face she seemed to enjoy it.

Once the song ended, she handed the earphone back, "That was good. I need to look up one of their albums after school."

"I've got a few of their albums," Lewis blurted out suddenly, making Jiro give him an odd look, "I..l...l mean if...you like to...um...borrow them...sometime," Lewis offered shyly. He wasn't doing a good job with being social.

Jiro gave him an easy smile, "You don't have a lot of experience talking to people, don't you," Jiro deducted correctly, causing Lewis to sigh.

"Yeah, sorry," he apologised, making Jiro laugh slightly.

"What did I say about saying sorry," she teased, lightly jabbing her elbow into Lewis' arm, "what other bands do you like?"

The entire journey to school was spent talking about the music they liked. Jiro seemed to mainly love punk and rock like Lewis, but while Lewis liked 20th century music, Jiro preferred much earlier music from this century. Nevertheless, they were able to swap band recommendations.

Lewis liked Jiro. She was possibly the coolest person he has ever met and it was nice to talk to somebody so relaxed that he didn't feel conscious of what he said.

'Making friends is surprisingly easy,' Lewis thought in glee as they entered U.A.

1.A Class

"Fleetwood," a male voice called out to Lewis as soon as he entered the near full classroom with Jiro.

Lewis turned to see that Midoriya was greeting him from his seat on the far side of the room.

"Oh hi Midoriya," Lewis waved back.

"Catch you later. It was nice walking with you," Jiro said to Lewis as she made her way to her seat.

"Y-you too," he replied with a small stutter. He made his way to Midoriya who seemed to be scribbling in a notebook.

"So, how's your finger?" Lewis asked in worry as he glanced at the boy's right hand.

"It's all better, thank you," Midoriya replied, proving it by gripping his hand, "you didn't get in trouble with Aizawa did you?"

"Oh no," Lewis said with an uneasy smile as he remembered his talk with Aizawa yesterday, "he just gave me a warning."

"That's good, hopefully today will be less anxiety inducing," Midoriya joked, making Lewis to chuckle, "by the way what are you going to do during our English lesson, today?"

"How do you mean?"

"Well, your English and I thought..." Midoriya trailed off as he tried to explain.

Lewis realised what he meant, "Oh right! I'm not quite sure. Maybe I'll help with pronunciation or something."

Before Midoriya could reply, Aizawa opened the door sharply, "Everybody in your seats," he ordered sternly.

Midoriya, who's attention had turned to Aizawa's entrance briefly, turned back to Lewis to see that he's gone. He turned to the back of the class to see Lewis sat in his seat and giving a small apologetic wave. Midoriya made a mental note to ask how Lewis' teleportation quirk worked at lunch.

Aizawa began to read the morning announcement in his usual bored tone. Lewis made sure to listen carefully to what he said. He didn't feel like angering him today.

"...and lastly, Fleetwood," Aizawa said making Lewis jump a little at being singled out (again), "you will report to Power Loader in the Support Department instead of your English lesson, understand."

Lewis was confused by that as well some of the other students. The Support Department specialised in making special gear and equipment for heroes. Students could go on and work for hero agencies or sell their inventions on to cooperation.

"Ahh man, he get's to miss English. That's so lucky," he heard somebody mumble in complaint.

"Yeah and to the Support Department as well," another voice mumbled.

"Err...sorry, Mr. Aizawa," Lewis said raising his hand, "why am I going to the Support Studio?"

"You didn't think U.A is going to waste time teaching you an language you already speak, did you," Aizawa answered gruffly.

"Well no, I-I-I just assumed I would...be helping the teacher, you see," Lewis explained.

"Present Mic may not look it, but he is more than capable of teaching a class on his own, do you understand?" Aizawa ask with heated glare, while in the staff break room Present Mic whimpered in sadness as he sensed Aizawa was insulting him again

Lewis gulped, "Yes sir," he replied meekly.

"The reason your going to the Support Department," Aizawa continued, "is because you've mentioned your interest in creating special gear. The room is down the hall from here," the teacher informed before finishing the rest of the notices.

Lewis was confused again. When did he...

He remembered his uncle had submitted his application for him.

'What didn't he tell them?" Lewis thought in annoyance, planning to give him a piece of his mind about not telling everybody about his personal life later.

Although, Lewis did have to admit that he was interested in what the Support Department looked like, especially for a school like U.A.

Outside the Support Department

Lewis eventually found the right room. Unlike his classroom, the door was smaller in height causing him to wonder why that was for a moment. He was about to knock on the metal door, when it opened suddenly to reveal a madly grinning girl. She had pink shoulder length hair in, what looked like, dreadlocks covered by an odd looking headgear. She didn't wear the typical uniform, but instead wore a jumpsuit worn up to her waist revealing a black tank.

A very revealing tank top which would of made Lewis almost pass out if he was looking down.

The most striking feature was her eyes. They were bright yellow and looked like the crosshairs of a scope you would find on a firearm. Her eyes were filled with curiosity and determination. To Lewis, she was very pretty and thought the large grease marks smeared all over her face added to her charm.

Lewis, however, was slightly put off by the fact she looked like he was going to do experiments on him.

Which is exactly what she was going to do.

"Perfect timing," the girl declared pulling him into the room.

The Support Room was large and was, as you would expect, filled with tools and half-made gadgets. The twenty or so support students looked up to see who had fallen into the pink haired girl's clutches. Most of them gave worried looks, some of them rolled their eyes and went back to what they were doing while one student thought it was best to get the teacher before she could do any damage to Lewis.

"Umm...sorry...m-m-my name is L-L-Lewis Flee-" Lewis had to cut his introduction short with a small squeak as the girl began to touch all over his body.

"Yes, Yes, Yes! Very muscular and such an amazing physique! Your perfect!" she declared as she stopped touching him and ran across the room.

Lewis tried to not look at anybody else in the room, embarrassed by what the strange girl shouted in earshot of a bunch of strangers. The pink haired girl ran back from where she came from holding a padded vest with a couple of wires sticking out of it. Before Lewis could say anything, the girl forced the vest on to him and strapped him in.

"Alright, are you ready!" she asked rhetorically with a wide crazy grin as she held up a metal box with a red button on it, poised to press it.

The other support students took a step backwards. Now Lewis was scared.

"Err wait a minute," he sputtered out in panic.

"3..." the girl shouted.

"I think you have the wrong person."

"2..."

"Is there a teacher I can speak to?"

"1..."

"Oh no," Lewis quietly squeaked, giving into the inevitable.

"HATSUME! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" a voice shouted before the newly named Hatsume could press the button.

Everybody turned to see the Support teacher at the door. He was a short, skinny man who wore a yellow mechanical body suit which covered his head and back. Behind him was the student who ran out earlier.

"Oh hi Power Loader!" Hatsume waved happily at her teacher, "just trying out my new baby," she explained as if she didn't force a student to become a guinea pig.

"For goodness sake," Power Loader mumbled as he made his way to a thankful Lewis, "I'm sorry about her she's...excitable," Power Loader apologised, "you must be Fleetwood. Welcome to the Support Department."

"Thank you Mr. Power Loader," Lewis feeling a little less terrified.

Power Loader turned to Hatsume who look disappointed she didn't test her invention, "This is the fourth time you've attempted to test your invention on a student and it's only your second day. You can't keep doing this," he scolded his pouting student.

'Fourth?' Lewis thought.

"But how do I know if my babies work if I don't test them out?" Hatsume countered.

"SAFELY AND NOT ON STUDENTS!" Power Loader shouted.

Hatsume didn't seem to be bothered by Power Loader, however Lewis could see in her yellow eyes that she really wanted to test it. Lewis looked down at Hatsume's...baby and had to admit it did look interesting.

Power Loader was just about to scold her more when Lewis interrupted him.

"It's fine. She can test it out on me," Lewis said surprising everybody in the Support Department.

"You will!?" Hatsume asked eagerly, coming in very close to Lewis' face making him blush.

The other students looked concerned. They had all seen what happens when Hatsume tests one of her babies and they couldn't imagine what would happen on an actual living person. Some of the students started to think he had some sort of healing quirk.

Power Loader looked unsure, "That's very nice of you, Fleetwood, but I don't think that's a good idea," he said causing Hatsume to pout again.

What Lewis did next was something that he only does rarely.

He insisted.

"It's honestly fine. I trust her...baby. Besides, I don't want to be the reason to hold her back in her learning, perhaps her baby will help a hero someday. If Hatsume wants to test on me than I am up for it," he told Power Loader confidently, making Hatsume brighten up again. She was also happy that he referred to her invention as her baby. She takes pride in her inventions and considered every single one as her child.

"I don't know," Power Loader said unconvinced.

"I promise I won't sue the school if this goes wrong," Lewis added.

Power Loader relented after he said that.

A couple of minutes later and Lewis was standing in the testing area while the whole Support Department and Power Loader stood behind a protective screen. One student even had a fire extinguisher at the ready. Lewis couldn't help but sweat drop at that.

'How much of an impact has this girl made in just one day?' Lewis thought wearily.

Hatsume, confident in her baby, stood a couple of meters in front of Lewis, poised to press the button again.

"Are you ready?" she asked excitedly, her crazy grin spreading across her face.

Lewis just nodded, briefly reevaluating his decision on becoming a hero.

A thought struck Lewis.

"Err Hatsume, what does this actually d-"

Hatsume pressed the red button before he could finish.

Cafeteria

Midoriya, Ochako and Iida stared in concerned at the disheveled-looking Lewis as he chewed on the sandwich he packed for lunch. When they saw him enter the cafeteria they invited him to eat with them. That's when they noticed how pale he looked, his slouched stance and how his right eye kept twitching. He also seemed to be shaking a bit as he took a seat next Ochako which was strange as sitting next to a girl would of been something he would usually shy about, especially a girl who was so outgoing.

"So, how was the Support Department?" Ochako asked politely, worried for Lewis' health.

Lewis took a while to answer her and seemed to find it difficult to speak.

"I-I-It w-w-w-w-was v-v-very I-I-I-interesti-ng. P-P-Power L-L-Loader gave m-m-me a t-t-tour of the d-d-d-department," Lewis answered shakily.

"That's...nice," Iida commented, "Are you feeling alright? You look um..." Iida trailed off.

"Y-y-yeah I'm fine. I-I-I got back m-m-m-my ability t-t-to see colour a-a-a couple of m-m-minutes ago s-s-so I m-m-must be getting b-b-better," Lewis reassured, causing the others to sweat drop.

'What happened to him?' they collective thought.

"Um Fleetwood," Midoriya said shyly, "could I ask you about your teleportation quirk. I don't think I've seen one as unique as yours."

Lewis smiled shakily, "N-not many people n-n-n-notice it's a t-t-teleport-ation quirk. They d-d-don't even n-notice me d-do it," Lewis said.

Lewis preceded to tell Midoriya and the others all about his quirk like the fact that he can only disappear when nobody looking at him. He also explained how he can make things disappear as longs as, again, no living creature was looking at it at a time. Midoriya noted it all down in his notebook, mumbling so fast that Lewis couldn't keep up with it.

However, Ochako raised a question this time which stopped Midoriya's mumblings.

"Wait, so does that mean you can teleport anywhere?" she asked curiously.

"Well, no. I w-w-would have to be a p-p-place I have already b-been to and I n-n-n-need to know where I-I-I am disappearing from," Lewis responded starting to recover from Hatsume's experiment.

"Why is that?" Ochako inquired further.

"Well, I-I-It's like going anywhere normally," Lewis explained to the brown haired girl, "in order to travel, y-y-you need to know where you are, where you a-a-are going to and h-h-how to get there. My quirk just allows me skip the 'how t-t-to get there' part."

"So if you don't know where you are currently or the location you want to travel to, you can't use your quirk," Iida clarified.

Lewis nodded in agreement, happy that he could explain his quirk easily.

"I get why you need to know where you're currently are," Ochako said, "but why can you only go to places you've already been physically? Can't you look at photo or a drawing of a place you want to travel to?"

Ochako makes a good point. Lewis has tried this before, because of how useful it would be as he would only have to look up an image on the internet and travel there. However, it's more complicated in practice.

"Theoretically, yes, I suppose. H-however, photos and drawings can b-be inaccurate meaning there's a r-r-risk of appearing in a wall or furniture or..." Lewis gulped, "a person," Lewis explained making the others shiver in horror slightly. "Another reason I-is that a it's a risky thing to do. It's like j-jumping from somewhere stationary onto a moving train. I'm so focused on trying to g-g-get to the place that I could forget to disappear completely. I c-c-could possibly lose a piece of my body in the p-process."

Lewis recalled the last time he tried to experiment with this. It was only a short distance, just the other side of a neighbour's fence. His neighbour, a lovely elderly woman, took a photo of the other side of the fence for Lewis to use. Lewis ended up losing three fingernails in the experiment. He learned his lesson after that.

The others cringed at Lewis explanation, "Yeah, I understand now," Ochako said with an uneasy smile.

Lewis apologised for being so graphic, especially as they were eating. Ochako and Iida waved it off saying it was their fault for asking in the first place. Lewis looked over at Midoriya who was mumbling again and seemed to be making a sketch of Lewis in his notebook and adding small labels to it.

Lewis raised an eyebrow at the sight, but didn't say anything as he looked like he was in the zone. Instead he began to discuss what to expect from their next lesson with Ochako and Iida.

1.A Class

After lunch, Class 1.A we're waiting for the teacher to arrive so they can begin their hero lesson. Some of the students were having conversations with each other, while others just sat in silence waiting for the teacher.

Lewis was part of the second group. He glanced at Todoroki to his left, seeing her looking ahead with little emotion on her face. Lewis thought about talking to her again. Sure, the first time he talked to her was a disaster and she looks like she REALLY didn't want to talk to anybody. However, despite her plain expression, Lewis could see that looked sad about something.

After psyching himself up (and making sure his tie was on straight this time), Lewis turned to the stoic girl.

"So, Todoroki," Lewis started, making the girl turn his head towards him plainly, "are you excited about our first hero lesson? Because...I...am," he finished lamely.

Todoroki started at him with the same empty look she gave him yesterday.

"Why are you talking to me?" she asked after half a minute of staring.

Lewis was taken back by her sudden question, "Err...because...I want...to," he answered hesitantly.

Todoroki gave him a blanked stare again.

"I would prefer it if you didn't talk to me," she stated plainly before turning back to the front.

Todoroki - 2 Lewis - 0

Lewis turned away with a defeated look again. He turned his head to the desk to the right where Ochako was seated. Ochako gave him a sympathetic smile and a thumbs up as if to say 'good for you for trying'. Lewis appreciated it, but it did nothing to lighten his mood.

"I AM..." a voice boldly declared outside catching the student's attention and making Midoriya gasp in joy. The door slammed open to reveal Japan's number one hero, All Might, "HERE LIKE A HERO!"

Excitement filled the room as the students looked on in awe as All Might strode into the room confidently in his Silver Age hero suit.

"WELCOME TO THE MOST IMPORTANT CLASS IN U.A HIGH," All Might declared, "THINK OF THIS AS HEROING 101!HERE YOU WILL LEARN THE BASICS OF BEING A PRO AND WHAT IT MEANS TO FIGHT IN THE NAME OF GOOD! LET'S GET INTO IT!" All Might shouted as he flexed his large muscles.

"TODAY'S LESSON WILL PULL NO PUNCHES!" All Might announced as he pulled out a card that read 'combat'.

Lewis, who was originally excited, felt uneasy about today's subject. Just because he knows how to fight and defend himself, doesn't mean he likes doing it. Fighting should be only for the defence of those who can't help themselves. However, since this is a hero course and his grade depended on it, he might have to suck it up.

"BUT ONE OF THE KEYS OF BEING A HERO," All Might continued, "IS...LOOKING GOOD!"

As he pointed to the far wall, sections containing numbered boxes slid out of it.

"THESE WERE DESIGNED FOR YOU BASED ON YOUR QUIRK REGISTRATION FORMS AND THE REQUESTS YOU SENT IN BEFORE SCHOOL STARTED!" All Might explained causing nearly everybody to shout in excitement.

Lewis perked up at the mention of costumes. He has been looking forward to this for a while and wondered how his had turned out.

"GET YOURSELVES SUITED UPAND THEN MEET ME AT GROUND BETA," All Might ordered.

"Yes sir!" the student shouted back.

Lewis waited for his turn to grab his numbered box and headed to the male changing room. Lewis couldn't help but smile at the thought of wearing hero costume for the first time. Another step towards his dream.

Ground Beta

Lewis slowly made his way out of the changing rooms. He made sure he stayed behind as long as possible as the other occupants headed to the ground. He didn't want the other students seeing his costume.

Lewis was very embarrassed by his costume. It wasn't that it wasn't what he asked for. In fact, it was exactly what he asked for. Lewis' lack of taste in fashion and the fact he designed it late at night had made his costume look like it was designed by a child. Since Lewis already had a coat and the hat, it only consisted of the black and gold striped body suit with boots and gloves attached, his golden protective vest and his black mask and goggles. However, that was it. The most interesting thing is probably his striped body suit. He probably shouldn't of rushed designing it.

Lewis sighed in sadness as he made his way to the grounds.

'I can always change my costume later,' he thought, 'besides it's not like the other students would have professional looking costumes on the first-' Lewis stopped his train of thought as he saw his classmates costumes.

Some students already looked like pro heroes like Iida, who wore a metallic suit which made him look like a robot, or Ochako, who wore a pink and black spaced-themed costume complete with helmet.

Others had him beat in the eye-catching category like Ashido, who wore a pink and blue camouflage body suit and a white eye mask, or Aoyama, who wore a dazzling knight's costume, a purple sparking cape and a large red visor.

Even Todoroki had a better costume than his and her costume consisted of a blue jump suit and ice covering the left side of her body.

'I don't think they have noticed me yet. Maybe...I can sneak back to the changing room," Lewis thought as took a couple of step backwards, "I'll just say my costume isn't right or-' his train of thought was interrupted again as something crashed into his back. Lewis fell on his face as the thing fell on top of him, drawing everybody's attention.

"Never mind,' Lewis sighed internally.

"Ah Fleetwood, I'm so sorry," Midoriya apologised as he got off Lewis' back and started to bow rapidly, "I was so lost in my thoughts that I ran into you," he explained in panic as Lewis got up and dusted himself.

"It's fine, honestly," he forgave the green haired boy casually. He saw that Midoriya was wearing a green body suit with white lines on the sides. On his head were large ear-like prongs sticking up and his plastic helmet had a large smile on it.

"Hey Deku, Fleetwood! Love your costumes," Ochako called out as she approached the two boys.

When both boys saw how skintight Ochako's costume was Midoriya entered a state of panic while Lewis covered his eyes with the brim of his hat, his face turning red.

"I should of been more specific about what I wanted," she said slightly embarrassed as she rubbed the back of her head, "the bodysuit is tight. Not really my style."

"I know what you mean," Ashido added, pulling her a costume a little as she approached the group, "the designers must be perverts of something. What do you think, Fleetwood is it too tight?" she asked Lewis with a teasing grin whilst posing a little. Lewis just placed his hat further over his eyes, feeling like he was going to pass out at any moment while the Ashido giggled at his reaction.

"NOW THAT YOU'RE READY. IT'S TIME FOR COMBAT TRAINING!" All Might declared catching the students attention.

"Sir," Iida called out, "this is the same city from our entrance exam does that mean that we'll be urban battles again?"

"NOT QUITE! I'M GOING TO BE MOVE YOU TWO STEPS AHEAD," All Might answered, "MOST OF THE VILLAIN FIGHTS YOU SEE ON THE NEWS TAKE PLACE OUTSIDE! HOWEVER STATISTICALLY SPEAKING RUN-INS WITH THE MOST DASTARDLY EVILDOERS TAKE PLACE INDOORS! THINK ABOUT IT! BACKROOM DEALS, HOME INVASIONS, SECRET UNDERGROUND LAIRS! TRULY INTELLIGENT CRIMINALS STAY HIDDEN IN THE SHADOWS!" All Might explained.

"FOR THIS TRAINING EXERCISE SHALL BE SPLIT INTO TEAMS OF GOOD GUYS AND BAD GUYS AND FIGHT TWO ON TWO INDOOR BATTLES!" All Might continued.

"Isn't this a little advanced?" Asui asked. Her costume consisting of a green and black body suit and head gear that looked like a frog's head.

"THE BEST TRAINING IS WHAT YOU GET ON THE BATTLE FIELD," All Might replied, "BUT REMEMBER YOU CAN'T JUST PUNCH A ROBOT THIS TIME! YOU'RE DEALING WITH ACTUAL PEOPLE NOW!"

"Sir, would you be the one deciding who wins?" Momo asked seriously. Her costume (if you can actually call that) consisted of a revealing red leotard and a belt which held a book.

'WHY ARE ALL THE GIRLS' COSTUMES SO REVEALING?!' Lewis screamed in his head as he turned his head away from the girl with another massive blush.

"How much can we hurt the other team?" Bakugo asked darkly as he glared Midoriya and then at Lewis.

"Do we have to worry about the losers getting expelled like yesterday?" Ochako asked worriedly.

"Will you be spitting us up based on chance or comparative skill?" Iida questioned confidently.

"Isn't this cape trés chic?" Aoyama asked swishing his purple sparkly cape.

"I WASN'T FINISHED!" All Might sputtered out, overwhelmed by the amount of question.

From his pocket, All Might took out a booklet and started to read from it.

'Is that a script?' Lewis asked looking at the booklet in confusion.

The scenario was pretty simple. Two students, posing as the villains, hide and defend a fake bomb anywhere in the building to All Might's left. Two other students, as the heroes, need to either touch the bomb or capture both villains to win. However, if the heroes run out of time or the villains capture the heroes than the villain team wins. To decide teams, All Might said that they would be drawing lots.

Lewis lot told him he was in group E now he just had to find who his-

"Fleetwood we're a team!" Ashido shouted excitedly as she got in Lewis face.

Lewis jumped back in surprise of the girl's sudden appearance. It was also the first time, Lewis had taken a good look at Ashido Mina. She was an athletic girl just shorter than him with bright pink skin and messy short hair that was also bright pink. Her eyes were black with golden irises and she had two small yellow horns growing out of her head.

"Ahh no need to be nervous of me, I won't bite," she teased with a wide grin.

"S-s-sorry you j-j-just m-made me j-jump," Lewis stuttered an apology, looking embarrassed.

"Aww you're so adorable," Ashido cooed as Lewis tried hid underneath his hat again.

"I DECLARE THAT THE FIRST TEAMS TO FIGHT WILL BE..." All Might announced taking out a lot from two boxes labelled hero and villain, "THESE GUYS!"

Lewis couldn't help but gulp as he saw who was fighting who. Midoriya and Ochako as the heroes vs Bakugo and Iida as the villain.

From what he could tell, Lewis had a feeling that Midoriya and Bakugo have known each other for a long time. He has no idea what happened between the two of them, but he could see that Bakugo, if given the chance, would pulverise Midoriya.

"EVERYONE CAN HEAD TO THE MONITORING ROOM TO WATCH!" All Might told the other students as the teams got ready.

As everybody headed to the monitor room, Lewis looked back to see Bakugo and Midoriya staring at each other. He couldn't help but feel worried for his friend, but he knew it was none of his business.

Lewis followed the others, leaving the two boys behind.

The battle between Midoriya and Ochako against Bakugo and Iida had been worse than Lewis was expecting. Despite the hero team winning, Bakugo managed to demolish half the building with his quirk.

Explosion: Able to produce explosions from his hands from his nitroglycerin like sweat.

As well as Midoriya ending up in Recovery Girl's office again with another injury caused by his quirk. Lewis had to ask what his quirk is later.

It was Lewis and Ashido's turn and they were playing the role of villains which is why they were hiding the fake bomb on one of the middle floors of the building. They were fighting against the hero team of Aoyama and Sato Rikido a muscular teen about an inch taller than Lewis with large lips and spiky brown hair. His costume was a yellow full body suit with a white belt around his waist.

They were one of the last teams to fight today and Lewis got witnessed first hand how powerful his fellow students were. However, despite how powerful they were, he still felt weary about fighting even after what All Might said to him.

- Flashback half an hour ago -

Monitor Room

"YOUNG FLEETWOOD ARE YOU OKAY!?" All Might asked Lewis in English.

Lewis, who was lost in his thoughts as he stared at the monitors, jumped in surprise before answering the hero.

"Oh yes, sorry. I'm fine really. It's just that..." Lewis began before All Might cut him off.

"YOU DON'T WANT TO FIGHT YOUR FELLOW CLASSMATES EVEN IF IT JUST A TEST!"

Lewis nodded. He really hit the nail on the head. All Might placed his large hand on Lewis' shoulder comfortingly and led him away from the rest of class.

"I UNDERSTAND, YOUNG FLEETWOOD! SOMETIMES I WOULD PREFER TO NOT RESULT TO VIOLENCE WHEN I ENCOUNTER VILLAINS AND IT IS VERY NOBLE OF YOU TO LOOK OUT FOR YOUR FELLOW CLASSMATES! HOWEVER, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO DO THINGS IN LIFE THAT YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH FOR THE GREATER GOOD! THIS INCLUDES SPARRING WITH YOUR CLASSMATES AND HELPING THEM GAIN COMBAT EXPERIENCE!" All Might explained.

The hero noticed how Lewis still looked unsure.

"YOU KNOW, YOUNG FLEETWOOD!" All Might added making Lewis look up at him, "THERE IS MORE TO COMBAT THAN PUNCHING YOUR ENEMIES!" he said cryptically.

"What do you mean?" Lewis asked in confusion.

"YOU'LL WORK IT OUT, YOUNG FLEETWOOD," All Might replied, patting his shoulder.

Lewis looked at him with a raise eyebrow before he smiled, feeling a bit more confident. However, as he was looking at All Might he couldn't help, but feel like he's seen him before. He kind of reminded him of the man on the Segway he almost ran into at the park.

"Err... Mr. All Might," Lewis said, "do you have a relative that looks like you or something, because I once bumped into somebody who looked like you at the park?" Lewis asked in curiosity.

Lewis was shocked to see All Might starting to look panicked and began to sweat a little.

"ERR...NO...WE HAVE NEVER -I MEAN- I DON'T HAVE ANY RELATIVES THAT LOOK LIKE ME...EXCUSE ME, YOUNG FLEETWOOD!" All Might excused himself as he made his way back to rest of the class stiffly.

Lewis looked on in confusion as All Might started to chat with some of the other students.

- Flashback End -

'There is more to combat than punching your enemies,' Lewis mused to himself.

"So what's the plan?" Ashido asked coming up to Lewis. They already explained their quirks to each other as they were walking to the building. Ashido's quirk was:

Acid: She is able to secrete a corrosive substance from her hands and the soles of her feet. She can control the viscosity and corrosiveness of her acid at will.

Ashido took the opportunity to tease the nervous boy by saying she can do something with her horns, makingLewis take a closer look at them. When he least suspected it, Ashido shouted loudly in his face causing Lewis to fall over in fright. She was still giggling about he is too easy too tease, much to Lewis' embarrassment.

"Plan," Lewis repeated in deep thought, "how much do you know about the hero team?" he asked.

Ashido rubbed her chin in thought, "I don't know much about Sato, but Aoyama can shoot a laser out of his stomach."

Navel Laser: He is able to shoot a power laser beam out of his stomach with the help of his custom made belt.

"Hmm, that would mean he would struggle in tight spaces," Lewis hummed.

Ashido snapped her fingers, "Oh, and he mentioned yesterday that he could only maintain the laser for one second before he would get a tummy ache," she added.

"Excellent, we can use that," Lewis said, "however Sato will still be a problem. Maybe we can split them up," Lewis suggested.

Ashido looked unsure at the idea, "How would we do that, though? I'm sure they would want to stick together, especially after what happened with Bakugo."

Lewis smiled broadly and took off his hat, "Leave that to me," Lewis declared proudly as he reached into his hat.

However, he stopped as he noticed Ashido had gone quiet. He looked up, expecting to see her looking confused as to how he has reached so far into his hat, but instead she was looking at the top of head with a bemused expression.

"Fleetwood," Ashido asked as a grin spread across her face, "are you wearing...cat ears?"

It was Lewis time to look confused before he realised what she meant. Lewis didn't want to lose his hat when he was doing something since it was so important to him. So before he submitted his design, he added a sort of holder which he wore on his head. It consisted of two plastic grips which pressed on the inside part of the hat and kept the hat on his head. He only just realised how much these grips resemble the ears of a feline.

Lewis turned red immediately, "Oh no, t-t-these are holders s-s-s-so my hat c-can stay on," Lewis explained hurriedly, but it was too late Ashido was laughing her head off.

"Aww there're so cute. They totally suit you, Neko-chan," she teased through giggles.

Lewis turned even redder at the nickname.

'Did she have to add -chan,' he thought in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Ashido apologised starting to calm down, "what were you saying."

Lewis sighed before reaching into his again and pulling out a plastic hoop.

"This is the plan," Lewis said as he started to explain to his partner.

Meanwhile

Outside the building is the hero team waiting for the signal to enter.

"So, what do we think we should do?" Sato asked a posing Aoyama.

The blond boy just smiled, "We will blow them away with my dazzle," he stated unhelpfully.

Sato looked at him in confusion, "...what does that mean?"

Monitor Room

Meanwhile, All Might was about to declare the battle to commence. He saw that Fleetwood and Ashido were making plans on one of the middle floors of the building.

He hasn't known Lewis for long, but he could tell he wasn't very confident talking to people, especially people as enthusiastic as Ashido. So, it was nice to see that Lewis was discussing animatedly and coming out of his shell.

Todoroki was staring at the boy who on two occasions tried to talk to her. She didn't know what to make of him. Sometimes he was confident and willing to defend somebody, other times he was nervous and shy.

'What's his angle?' Todoroki asked herself, 'Why does he want to talk to me?'

All Might saw that the preparation time was almost up and turned on the speaker.

"LET'S BEGIN THE NEXT INDOOR BATTLE!" All Might announced through the speaker.

"YOUR TIME STARTS NOW!"

I honestly was going to write the actual battle in this chapter. However, it got too long and so I decided to save it for next time. Sorry for those who were expecting one.

Anyway, new developments in this chapter. Lewis is starting to meet members of his class and he even met everybody's favourite mad inventor Mei Hatsume. Not only that, but Lewis and Jiro started to bond over their love of music. The reason why I chose Talking Head is because I though Jiro would like to know about another female bassist. Tina Weymouth is so cool, rather like Jiro.

Thanks again for all the support and I'll see you next time.

Thanks :)

Next time: Lewis and Ashido vs Sato and Aoyama. Also the class representative elections.
