That next morning, Junior was quite sound asleep. He snuggled his blankets as the sun began to rise, when all of a sudden—

(*FWEEEEEEEEEE!!*)

"AAAGH!" Junior exclaimed, falling off the bed. He staggered to his feet to find Larry, then commented; "WHAT THE HECK, DAD?!"

"Thought I'd get you up bright and early for SUPERHERO TRAININ'!" Larry exclaimed, handing Junior his own suit. "There's three trials I've come up with that you've got to complete for your first day."

(Smash Mouth's "Radio Freefall" plays)

"Radio free fall

The cat walk to the show

All bets are on for those in the known

Oh no"

"Okay," Larry walked in front of Junior. "The first test includes utilizing your most important asset, your suction-cup ears! Let's test it out by seein' if you can pick up SuperLunt's coffee mug over there..." Larry turned to face that mug in particular, which sat atop a small coffee table.

It took quite a few tries, but eventually Junior was able to get it!

"Great job, son!" Larry replied. "Moving on..."

Junior hopped over to Larry, suddenly Lunt's mug dropped from his ear...and promptly broke.

"Uh, Alfred?" He asked, nervous.

"I'll get the superglue." Alfred replied, pulling out a little tube of glue with a small cape attached. "...hah! Visual puns."

"There's a caterwaul in Hollywood

Who would have ever thought

All planets in line with the disco ball

Who did you know coming up

Who will you know going down

America give it a name

Call it a miracle

All bets are on for those on a roll

Oh no"

After that, Larry took Junior over to a part of the Larry-Cave that was a boxing ring, perfect for sparring with other heroes.

"Alright, next test—try to take down Bob." Larry pushed Bob into the boxing ring.

"W-wait, Larry, isn't he a bit too small for this?" Bob asked.

"Nonsense!" Larry replied. "Don'tcha know little guys can do big things, too? Okay, and GO!"

(*bell dings*)

Bob lunged at Junior, Junior lunged at Bob. Bob attempted to kick Junior, but Junior flipped above Bob's head, then utilized his suction cup ears to take him down within a single instant.

"ONE! TWO! THREE!" Larry exclaimed, then held Junior up. "—THE WINNAH!!"

"Guess you were right..." Bob replied, then passed out.

"Sold and bought straight San Jo

Who would have ever thought

We'd spoil the sport and be on top

Who did you know coming up

Who will you know going down"

"Now comes the third superhero test..." Larry moved in closer to Junior. "Trust. You've gotta know that your team can trust you, and that you can trust them."

"And how exactly are we gonna do that?" Junior asked.

"Why, by tossin' ya off this huge apartment penthouse in the middle of the city that we're on!" Larry replied.

Junior stared down below from the building at the enormous trampoline with a target pattern that Petunia was holding, and gulped.

"It's kinda a long way down..."

"That's what trust is for!" Larry replied. "Here we go!" He shoved Junior off the building.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!" Junior shouted, falling thousands of feet towards the ground, closing his eyes due to the pressure.

"Who's getting sent back down

There's a brand spanking new kid in town

San Jo who would've ever thought

Hollywood get yourself a soda pop

Radio, radio video and don't forget the talking show

And never forget that you're good to go

Oh no

It's a cattle call

In fifteen minutes you're a Neanderthal

All planets in line with the disco ball"

After that epic training session, Junior just about collapsed on the floor...and then he did collapse on the floor.

"We'll pick this up again tomorrow." Larry replied. "By the way, this might've been your first time but you did great! Say, how's about we go get some ice cream with the other guys?"

"That sounds perfect!" Junior replied.
