Chapter 5 - "Fairy Sport"
One and half hours later, Laxus and Makarov waited for Lucy to come, yet she was hiding under the desk.
"I guess I better go. Do your work, my son. Please let me know when she gets here," Makarov got up from sitting so long and left this room. Laxus waved and glanced over at the desk, "Blondie, come over here." A few minutes of silence, Laxus glanced again and stood up. He walked around the desk to check on her. She was sleeping there. He crouched.
'She looks pretty. How can she sleep like this?' he gazed at her and stroked her bangs. She slowly woke up and looked up at him. Laxus smiled warmly, "Gramps is gone now. You can come out, Blondie." He stood up and reached his hand towards her. Lucy crawled and grabbed his hand, "Thanks."
"Now we have still left to talk about," Laxus pulled her closer, "Please don't force me to be with Mirajane, alright?" Lucy was silent and nodded. Makarov opened the door, "Oh right, Mira-" he paused when he saw these two stood together. "Oh my, what a nice view. I guess I will leave you two here," he grinned and closed the door. Laxus sighed deeply, "Damn gramps." He glanced at Lucy. She looked still sleepy, 'She sure looks tired. I guess she stayed there for so long. Her legs must be tired.' He looked at her full of worry, "Lucy . . . I think you should go home and sleep."
"I am fine. I can continue-" she insisted.
"No. You should go home for now."
"But-"
"I am your boss here. I order you to go home and sleep," he said. Lucy nodded slowly and turned around to go. "Lucy, I am sorry," her voice tone was soft. She still walked away and didn't hear him. 'She must be upset. I guess I will be careful from now on.' he worried.

At Lucy's home, Lucy arrived and her mother wasn't at home. She got a text from Makarov Dreyar, 'I heard from Laxus, you can rest until Monday. There will be a fun event, Fairy Sport. See you there.' Lucy sighed and went up to her bedroom to sleep.

*Skips to Monday*
On Monday early morning, Lucy was on the way to the Fairy Group building. Many workers including Natsu, Gray, Erza, Levy, Gajeel, Mirajane, Jellal, etc. were waiting in front of the entrance.
"Good morning, you guys. How are you?" Lucy greeted.
"Hello, I am excited to play with you all," Erza smiled.
"Hey, I want to sit with my Laxus. You would go sit with another person, would you?" Mirajane's arm wrapped around Lucy's shoulder and whispered.
"S-sure . . . " Lucy said.
Now, people went into the bus to sit. Lucy sat on the seat in the middle, she saw Laxus walking and approaching her. She put her backpack on next to her, "Sorry, I want to be with Levy." Laxus frowned, "That's fine. I will sit over there last row." Then Mirajane pushed his back to the last row, "Laxus, I want to sit with you together."
"What the hell? I want to be alone!" he was annoyed by her.
Lucy sighed heavily, 'Why do my heart feel hurt? I know Mirajane wants to be with him. ' Levy patted her shoulder, "Can I sit with you?"
"Sure," Lucy smiled, and then they chatted until the bus arrived at the field.
They changed their clothes, a white shirt and black sweater pants, but with women shirts with red collar and men shirts with blue collar. Makarov stood on the stage to make an announcement, "Welcome to the Fairy Sport. I will explain the rules; no cheating, no flirting, no slacking off, no fighting, and no sleeping. Each team will have a boss with a secretary. The prizes will have three places. First place prize will be Smart TV, second place prize will be SPA tickets, and third place prize will be 10 bags of rice per 20kg."
"I really want to get a Smart TV," Lucy was fired up. Laxus glanced at her and smiled.
"There will be 8 games; Dodgeball, Hide & Seek, Musical Chair, Freeze Dance, The Egg Toss, Tug of War, Scavenger Hunt, and Two Legged Race for daytime. The nighttime 2 games are Capture the Flag and Two Truths and a Lie. Some games that do not require earn scores; Truth or Dare, Have You Ever? or get an idea of games on your own. Also you all will have to watch the fireworks tonight." Makarov gave all information papers to Erza to hand out to all people to know their schedule and games.
"Few games require two teams, you all can check paper to know which team you are on. First game will have Hide & Seek. Team A will be seeker and team B will hide. This game will have a timer, 20 minutes. Then switch seekers to hide. You can hide anywhere in this field and inside of this building. This game will start in 5 minutes. Have fun!" Makarov announced and got off the stage.

(Team A: Lucy, Laxus, Natsu, Levy, Gajeel, Lisanna, Freed, Evergreen)
(Team B: Gray, Elfman, Mirajane, Erza, Jellal, Cana, Juvia, Bixlow)

The game starts as Team B went into hiding.
"I think I know some people go to the building. Gajeel, Lisanna, Levy, and I will go there. You guys can look for this field," Natsu said. They agreed and went to the building.
"Freed and I will check trees, and you girls can check around this building," Laxus said, wrapping Freed's shoulder. Evergreen nodded.
After a few minutes, they found 6 and 2 more left to look for. Lucy ran to Laxus, "Mr. Dreyar, I think Mirajane is hiding anywhere in the bushes."
"Good thinking. I didn't think of it. Let's go check there together," Laxus ruffled her hair. They went to check the bushes, and then Mirajane jumped to hug Laxus, "I am here!"
"Get off! Damn you!" Laxus tried to break off, but she hugged him tightly. Lucy saw them and felt her heart suddenly hurt, 'These two look lovey-dovey. Why do I always feel this kind of pain when I see them together?' Laxus glimpsed at Lucy's face. Her face looked ashamed. 'What's up with Lucy's strange behavior? Is she sick or what?' he wondered and pushed Mirajane slightly to get off. He walked to her and his hand on her forehead, "Are you sick? Your face looks pale." She thrusted his hand, "I-I am fine. We found Mirajane, so the last person must be Jellal. Let's go find him." She turned around and walked fast to avoid him.
"Hey, be careful or you will fall," Laxus shouted, but she didn't hear. After this game ended, Team B earned some scores as Jellal won.

Now the teams switch the role of seeker and hide, team A went to the hiding spot. Laxus pulled Lucy to come with him, "Follow me." Lucy stopped him, "I don't want to hide with you together. I want to hide alone." He rolled his eyes and picked her up as a bridal style.
"Eh? L-let me dow-" Lucy blushed so red like tomato. He covered her mouth with as he put her down behind the fence in front of the entrance so anyone couldn't find them.
"Be quiet," his one finger moved from Lucy's mouth to on his lip, "Let's hide here until the time's up. I will ask you one question."
"What is it?"
"Do you feel uncomfortable by Mirajane? Tell me, so I can take care of her," he asked. Lucy was surprised by his question, "H-how did you know that I am not comfortable with her?"
"I knew it. The way you look, it's because of her," Laxus closed his eyes while his head went down. Lucy had a hard time to read his lips as his head was down. 'He cares about me? How adorable he is,' she giggled. He looked at her quickly with his flustering look, "W-what's wrong? You okay, Blondie?"
"No, it's nothing. Thanks to you, I feel better now," she smiled. He looked away while scratching his back head.

Finally when the time's up, only Lucy, Laxus, and Natsu survive. So team A earned more scores than Team B. Makarov went to stand on the stage again for the next game.
"Okay, two more games, then all girls will cook lunch while men play the Tug of War game. Next game will be a two-legged race," Makarov cleared his throat, "Let me explain the rule. The rule; no cheating, boss will be a partner with the secretary. Run together to the finish line to earn some scores. Let's have fun!" He got off the stage.
Four teams will have a race including Erza&Jellal, Mirajane&Elfman, Gray&Juvia, and Freed&Evergreen. Other four teams will have a race after that. The race started now. While other teams were waiting, Laxus kneeled to tie the rope on his and Lucy's ankles together. He got up and wrapped her shoulder with his right arm. His hand grabbed her left hand and pulled to his waist, "This is how we will win the race. You want first place?" Lucy's face turned a rosy tint, "Uh . . . yeah, we must get first place."
As the race was over, Erza and Jellal won the race. Next four teams including Lucy&Laxus, Natsu&Lisanna, Bixlow&Cana, and Levy&Gajeel were ready to run. The race started as the gun banged, they ran together. Natsu was fired up and shoved Lucy. He ran with Lisanna so smoothly. Lucy bumped Laxus as they fell down together. Makarov blew the whistle as the race ended. He was surprised to see . . .
Laxus and Lucy kissed on the grass ground.
