Hey everybody! I'm back with another chapter! Thanks for reading and enjoy the story!

The gym was huge. It floor seemed to sparkle and a big bucket of volleyballs sat in the corner while a net was set up in the middle with two guys tightening it from each side.

"Hey, Akaashi is that Bokuto with you?" one of the guys asked.

"Heyo! I'm back!" Bokuto called, "It's good to see ya, Anahori, Onaga."

"Who's the chick?" one of them asked. I wasn't sure which was Anahori and which was Onaga.

"Hi, my name is Valeria Jacobi. I'm an exchange student from America. I'll be coming on as a temp manager for the team until the term is over in March." I waved with a smile.

"Dude, she's so cute," the taller of the two guys said to Akaashi throwing his arm around his shoulders. Now that they had come closer I could see that one of them was only about a foot taller than me but the other one looked like he was a whole meter taller! Looking up at them was kind of scary.

"Are all volleyball guys this tall?" I looked at them with wide eyes.

"We're not all super tall. I mean Bokuto, Akaashi, and Onaga are only 180 centimeters or so, but there are plenty of shorties who play Libero and Karasuno's got Hinata who's only 5'3" and a middle blocker." So the shorter guy was Anahori and Onaga was the taller one.

"Hey! I'm 190, dumb ass!" Onaga said.

"180, 190, whatever, all you tall guys look the same to me." Anahori teased.

"You wanna go!" Onaga yelled.

Oh no...

"Let's go!" Anahori grabbed the nearest volleyball and served it right at Onaga with all hi might. They weren't playing a practice game over the net, just yelling and fighting as they passed the ball back and forth trying to get the other to drop it.

"Sorry about them." Akaashi said, "Did they freak you out?"

"No!" I was quick to answer, "I was just worried they were going to come to blows for a second."

"You don't have to worry about that. Our team all has cool enough heads for it not to come to that over something stupid. Bokuto made sure of that." he explained.

"So he must have been a good team captain, right?" Bokuto seemed to perk up at the compliment. He came over and leaned on my shoulder.

"I like this one, can we keep her, Akaashi? Please?" he gave his best imitation of what I can only call puppy dog eyes and somehow Akaashi was both completely immune and completely able to just ignore him.

"No, Bokuto could never keep his head in games when he got frustrated so the rest of us had to compensate and wait for him to chill."

"Exposed!" Anahori laughed pointing at Bokuto as he let the ball fall, so it seemed Onaga won their little spat.

"Damn!" Onaga said, "He totally called you out."

Bokuto went to sulk in a corner. It reminded me of an anime I watched called Ouran where someone would call out the club president for being an idiot and he would just go sulk in a corner and look dejected. Bokuto was like a real life version of Tamaki, but somehow in the very small time I had known him, I got the feeling he was even more dramatic.

"Wait, so how did you meet the Captain?" Anahori asked once he finally pulled himself together.

"My friend Kenma introduced us when he heard I would be attending Fukurodani during my exchange term."

"You know Kenma?!" Onaga seemed shocked.

"Kenma has friends other than Kuroo?!" Anahori seemed just as shocked.

"Hey! Not cool! Kenma is awesome!" I pouted, "Don't diss my bestie!"

"Wait you're coming on as temp manager right?" I nodded at Bokuto who had suddenly recovered, "This is great you'll get to-"

Akaashi cut him off with a head shake.

"What?" Bokuto and the other guys seemed very confused.

I gave Akaashi a weird look, "No wait, what were you going to say, Bokuto?"

"He was just saying that you might run into him when we go to the tournament near the end of the semester, but I don't know if you'll still be here. I just didn't want him to get your hopes up with his over enthusiastic optimism." Akaashi explained.

"But-"

"But nothing." Akaashi stared him down. Something was going on here. I'd have to ask Kenma if he knew anything later. "Do you want to stay for practice today so you can meet everyone?"

"Sure that sounds like fun! Can I Ms. Andrews?" I had almost forgotten about her.

"Of course dear, it's only 4 o'clock. Your host family isn't expecting us until at least 6." she didn't even look up from her phone, "I have a few calls to make and some work to do, so I'm going to sit in the car with my laptop, okay?"

"Practice runs until 6:30 is that alright?" Akaashi asked.

"Perfectly fine, dear," she smiled, "You kids have fun! I'm glad you seem to be fitting right in, Ria!" and then she disappeared out the door.

"We don't really need you to do anything yet as the manager," Akaashi explained, "So you can just sit and wait for everyone else to arrive."

"Well what has to get done before a practice?" I asked, "I want to make sure that when I do start for real as the manager I'm at least doing my part."

"Well, usually we run a broom over the floor to get rid of slipping hazards, tighten up the net, take out the bucket of balls, and fill the water bottles." he explained, "Both our managers graduated with Bokuto last year and we never bothered to get a new one so Onaga, Anahori, and I have been taking turns getting the gym ready."

"Cool, I can definitely do that from now on! Are you sure nothing else needs to get done today?" I asked.

"Nothing, we're just waiting another half hour for the others to show up."

"Umm.." I was nervous to ask but I stood my ground, "I know this is kind of an odd request, but do you guys think you could teach me a bit about the game? I don't really know much and I want to help as much as I can. Plus if I suddenly have a bunch of volleyball ninja know how when I finally meet Kenma in person then maybe I'll finally understand everything he's been telling me about his games and practices."

"Sure!" Onaga said with a smile.

"We'd love to!" Anahori seemed very excited.

"I guess I can help out too." Bokuto spoke like he was conceding an argument.

"Thanks everyone! This will be awesome!" I smiled.

"Welcome aboard little lady!" Bokuto let out this odd 'woohoo' type sound but it almost sounded more like a very loud owl noise.

"Just Ria is fine! I'm glad to join the club!"
