Finding Our Future ch5
Well this place hasn't changed any in the last 7years," Haley spoke looking around the empty gym.
"I know! It still feels like home to me," he replied sitting down beside her on the bench.
"So how come you brought me here instead of Karen's?" She questioned while trying a sip of her coffee, looking around the gym waiting for him to answer.
"Well like I said it's a wee trip down memory lane for the both of us. It's somewhere that we can talk in private," he commented to with a small smile, watching her turn her head to give him a gentle smile.
"Nathan what exactly do you want from me?" she asked getting straight to the point cutting out all the pointless small talk between them.
"Well I would like to spend more time with you and get to know you better again," he explained being totally honest with her.
"As friends or more than friends?" She asked afraid of what his answer would be, while nervously taking a big sip of her coffee.
"Well that's up to you. At this point I will take whatever I can get," he smirked getting up and heading over to get a basketball. Leaving her a little shocked by his boldness.
"Nathan we may have a history of friendship, but we can't just rush into a relationship. I'm definitely not ready for that," she spoke watching him move around the court, trying to realistic about the current topic of conversation.
"I know that. It doesn't mean we can't work our way up to it," he spoke making his first shot, looking over at her with his all too cocky Nathan Scott smirk.
"I don't want to hurt your feelings or stop us from reconnecting. I just think for right now we just need to be friends," she spoke taking another sip of her coffee.
"I respect your decision. Now come have a go," he smiled at her softly trying to hide his disappointment.
"Nate you know I'm awful at sports," she protested to him.
Walking over he took the coffee out of her hand, setting it on the bench "Come on Hales, it's just us," he spoke leading her into the middle of Court.
"Fine," she groaned taking the ball from him and throwing it up in the air. Not getting it anywhere near the hoop.
Nathan retrieved the ball and handed it back to her again. "Focus this time. Square your feet to the basket, bend your knees and just shoot."
Haley did as she was so told. This time throwing the ball and hitting the net. "God, this is so embarrassing,"
"Don't be embarrassed Hales, that was actually a lot better. You just need some help with your technique," he spoke walking over to her.
This time Haley decided to take off her jacket before having her next go. She saw Nathan checking her out and roaming his eyes over her whole body. Her mind was racing as he looked at her.
"Right superstar, Show me how it's done," she flirted taking the ball from him.
"Fuck she is even sexier in this outfit than she was in the pjs the morning." He thought as he spent a good amount of time checking her out.
"Sorry! Yeah so hold the ball like this," he spoke standing behind her placing his hands over her.
"Okay! Now what?" She asked looking over her shoulder at him.
"Just shoot," he spoke softly in her ear.
Haley threw the ball with a little direction from Nathan, Sinking it perfectly.
"Did you see that? It went in," she shouted excitedly and spun round to face him.
"Yes! You did great Hales," he spoke leaning down to embrace her in a hug during all the excitement between them.
"Thanks," she spoke pulling away after a few minutes and making eye contact with him.
"You're welcome," he spoke moving a small piece of hair out of her face. Watching her eyes he took a chance leaning closer to her and dropping his lips softly over hers.
"What is happening should I step back or let it happen?" Haley though as she watched Nathan lean down closer to her. In that moment both her head and heart were battling it out with each other.
"Mmm," she moaned as a spark of emotions hit her. His lips connected instantly with her softer lips.
Taking his chance after a second he sucked on her bottom lip, before softly moving to her top lip repeating the same actions. Their lips danced softly together in a chase kiss.
"I need a breather," she whispered softly after their moment together.
In a panic she ran out of the gym and into the hallway. Nathan was left standing in the gym second guessing his actions.
"Haley wait!" he shouted grabbing her jacket and going after her.
"Nathan, I said I need a breather," she snapped at him.
"I was just bringing you your jacket," he explained handing it to her.
"Thanks, I better get going. I'll see you at the party later," spoke walking passed him back into the gym and out to her car without another word.
Hope you all enjoyed and please review.
