Aaaand... we're bacl for another chapter :) . About time, am I right? Yeah, I have been probably lazing out lately, probably not... Yeah my vacations are almost over :'( . I only have 2 days left. I would like to publish as much capters possible... but yeah, now things will be harder for me to publish my future chapters in the next days.
It will probably take 5 days to a week to publish a chapter, if my head can really think after an 8 hour daily job. Or probably not... because in day 16th May, I'll be back in a 1 week-vacations, and I want to keep improving either in my writting or my story plot. Yes, I finally ended my chapter 7, for anybody concerned; and I'm now in chapter 9 (I just want to say... chapter 8... yeah was a first time to have a mature moment between characters... but I don't want to spoil it now. I just want to explain "why" this story is for +18... I did some reasarches, ahaha...
Anyways, taking my pain and future out for a next topic: I THANK once again for the number of Follows and Favorites. Like, WOW, you guys really want to keep reading my stuff... which is actually insane for a begginer writter like me XD. I can't express how much lucky I feel by knowing you guys are making my story a "favorite". I wrote this story, because I wanted to aknowledge that even side characters have their time to shine (and I talk by my beloved favorite Gx Character: Syrus Truesdale, since I see myself in almost the same place as him... I'm a nice guy, am I, guys?). And the number of views... keeps reaching the peak. I love it that feeling!
Review time:
Guest (1): I would just take some parts of the anime to fit it normal on my story... you know, you've gotta improvise in moments like this one. And yes, my script is fulfilled to make such plot-twists of the butterfly effect! If I did so, I know already what will happen next :) . It's all about the future that holds ME and my writters/readers who want to have future ideas too. I hope you enjoyed my chapters to begin with, I do appreciate it.
Guest (2): I do what I can do best. Either I have my fresh head for writting all these stuff as fast as I can; or I just feel lazy listening to music and play online games, youtube videos or anime. By the way, 'Please Don't Bully Me, Nagatoro-San' is becoming a masterpiece of an anime, I favorited it on my anime list; what do you guys think of the anime :) ?
Guest (3): Thank you for your concern... Yes, I will take my time one day at a time, I'm actually surprised I posted this chapter today, and not yesterday... but I still feel relieved for knowing theres readers like you who are concerned about me. I do thank you very much for that.
For those past reviews who left the 'beta-readers' comments... I do respect your opinion on trying to improve my story... unfortunately I don't want to pay them to make an hobby becoming a dream story for me. I do THIS story for my own pleasure of writting, if you didn't like the fact my character acted that way, feel free to use my own story to make your own story... I can't help people like these, I'm sorry. I only help people who just could just tell me what they think of my main characters in the first place, and would I change on them. BECAUSE... I actually intended to write this story only focused on Syrus in the first place. Jaden, however, is the 'best guy' Syrus ever met in his life besides his crush. So, in conclusion to that, if you want to help me... please don't mention the beta-readers... I hate when that happens!
Anyways, new chapter, guys :) . Follow me on Twitch (tom_my_master), and leave nice reviews. Enjoy the chapter ^^. I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh Gx, neither some OC characters/cards on future chapters, since they are owned by my shishou, aka my top-writer idol, GhostKaiser23-sama.
Chapter 5 – How we met
The days were passing, and the school work has become a bother for Syrus. Luckily, he was still hanging with Jaden as his best friend, but he felt that Jaden might get tired one day of him keep following Jaden around.
Jaden couldn't blame him, Syrus was still insecure around every other colleague; including the Obelisk Blues, still mocking him from his anxiety problem. It either made Syrus hide behind Jaden's back, which made Jaden hiss in front of the Obelisks. But then the Obelisks still held a hate for Jaden, because of what he said about Dr. Crowler lose to him. It was an eternal hate they kept for the Slifer.
"I'm sorry for always have to hide behind you, Big Bro. I… simply cannot s-stand this. Everywhere I go, it seems that they want to do… bad stuff to me." Syrus was trembling next to Jaden.
"I get you and it's okay, bro. I'll be by your side whenever you need. Like I said before, I appreciate your company as well." Jaden said, his hand on top of Syrus' shoulder. However, someone appeared behind them.
"Hey, chaps. How things going?" Bastion asked.
"GAHH!" they screamed. "Where did you come from, Bastion?" Jaden asked, Syrus standing again behind him.
"Well, we're on our lunch break. So, I thought I could have some company like you guys around me…" Bastion explained.
"You… want to hang out… with us?" Syrus asked him.
"Well, yeah! That, or studying in my room are the best options to make. After all, it's all about a student life here in Duel Academy." He answered his question, Jaden agreed nodding.
"You see, Sy? There are, in some places, people you meet who want to hang out with us. We were about to go to our dorm for lunch. You wouldn't mind join us, right Bastion?" Jaden asked him with a cheeky grin. Bastion shrugged and accepted Jaden's offer.
Not so far from leaving the Duel Academy, in the hallway entry, the group found the Obelisk female that waved to them.
"Hey Jaden, Syrus and huh… new guy?" Alexis greeted them.
"Bastion Misawa, the pleasure is all mine. We were at the first class the second day…" Bastion answered.
"Sorry, I didn't pay too much attention to other people around, just… Anyways, what you guys are up to?" Alexis asked curiously.
"We were just about to get some lunch. Want to join us?" Jaden asked, Syrus looked at him dumbstruck. 'Big Bro, asking a girl… to eat with us?' he thought.
Alexis blushed a little by the idea, "I wish I could, but I already have plans with my friends in my dorm. We usually eat together during our lunch break." She admitted, Jaden shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, I guess were going different paths then. We'll meet again, probably that will… do" Jaden told her and left with the group. However, he started blushing a little, remembering that moment after their duel again; when they shook their hands, and that past memory...
The school days weren't THAT bad after all. Just waking up, two classes, next it was lunch. Then it would probably be a last class, if possible, then dinner and sleep. Of course, there would be duels here and there… for Jaden's Dueling hunger and Syrus motivation to grow even more.
And that's how the days passed so fast; it was already the day. Syrus' birthday…
*With Syrus*
It was '08:00 AM' on his alarm when he woke up from his bed bunk. Taking out his bed sleeves with a yawn, he got up to dress himself and wash his face. It was Saturday, that meant they wouldn't have school work, neither teachers scolding them everywhere: a free student day.
With all said, Syrus didn't need to worry waking up Jaden from his sleep. Despise usually waking him up during school days, Syrus wasn't one to wake up 'his' friend in day-offs. He probably had his time to wake up. Jaden was still laid down on his bunk bed, with his face pointing to the wall, so Syrus couldn't tell if was sleeping or not.
With all that thought, already dressed in Slifer uniform, Syrus left the room to get his breakfast ready. Little did he knew, when he closed the door, Jaden lift up his eye with a grin. He was actually awake thanks to Syrus' alarm, but he didn't want to reveal it.
Jaden got up from his middle bunk, stretching himself. His spirits friends were also appearing behind him, ready for the day to start. "Alright girls, we have WORK to do…" it was Jaden's last words, before he let out a little laugh.
*in Slifer's dorm*
Syrus was eating his toast and tea from any normal breakfast he had on that dorm. It wasn't too much; he could handle all that food for the coming hours before lunch. He usually used the breakfast time to think of ways to get his deck better, or think of what he could do next… but nothing came to his mind at that moment.
Today was his birthday day, he already had 16 years old. But for him, not used to have friends to celebrate his birthday party, it was just another normal day with no other plans. He could only remember of the last birthdays he had, where his mum used to buy him cake and sing him a birthday song, to at least make him happy. But his mum wasn't there in Academy, and he knew that.
He finished eating his breakfast, his PDA started vibrating. He picked it up, a message received icon appeared. It was from Jaden.
"Hey Sy, good morning! Listen, I decided to skip breakfast because I was needed by Professor Banner for some last working papers, and I forgot to give them to him. The papers are inside your desk drawer, and I'm already in the School room. Could you please be a good friend, and go to our room, pick up the papers I forgot? I would appreciate it very much." The message ended.
Syrus only sighed for that message. 'Of course, Big Bro would forget about my day. I think I shouldn't have said anything about my anniversary. But still, he's my best friend, and I still owe him for let me stick around with him.' He thought before leaving the Slifer dorm, to go to his room.
Climbing up the stairs to his room, he entered the door to see nobody else in his room. Neither Chumley, that sleeps every time in his top bunk. He went to his desk, to open the drawer, he saw a card that was flipped face-down and some papers Jaden asked to bring.
'Huh? A card? Why would Big Bro have a card in my…' Syrus thought, while picking up the card and flipped it. "DESK?" the card got revealed to him. It was… DARK MAGICIAN GIRL.
"What in the…" Syrus fell from his standing position, still holding the card with his hand. 'Why would there be Dark Magician Girl card… in my desk drawer?' he thought.
From behind him, standing in the top bunk, unknown to Syrus, the spirit of Dark Magician Girl was spying on him holding her card. "Jaden, you should've told that he was cute too." She said with a blush.
*with Jaden *
Jaden, like he promised in the message, was in the hallway next to the school room door waiting for Syrus, but Banner wasn't there. He had planned this day to be a success, but he needed Syrus to stay away from the Slifer dorm. THAT was all he needed, so he needed his Duel Spirit friends to keep an eye on him. Not only on him, but to the dorm as well.
Yubel appeared behind him and asked him "Do you think he will like the surprise?"
"If not, then EVERYTHING he has been telling me was a lie… but let's face it here, it's Syrus were talking about." Jaden smirked mockingly, for Yubel's enjoyment. "If only you didn't tell me to make that call, I didn't know what to do…"
"I only did what I thought it would be the best for both of you…" Yubel said, hugging his friend/lover from behind.
It was Wednesday, two days after Syrus mentioned his birthday day. Jaden and Syrus were studying in the library, luckily with the presence of Bastion. It was a moment where they could have some peaceful time, to know more about the card theory and new combos they could do with their decks, for their next duels.
For Syrus surprise, Jaden had to excuse himself because his phone started vibrating. "Sorry guys, I'll have to pick on this call. I'll see you guys in a bit." He said, leaving his seat and left the library.
"Man, Big Bro has been acting weird lately. Don't you think, Bastion?" Syrus asked his friend. Besides Jaden, Syrus could also trust Bastion as a friend, due to his own will to hang out with them with nothing to hide.
"If I were to be concerned about Jaden, I wouldn't be. There's probably something he had to handle." Bastion answered with a smirk. He however knew what Jaden was doing, because he got a message on his PDA from Jaden, about Syrus' birthday. Jaden wanted to surprise his friend, and he needed Bastion's help to keep him an eye while he was out.
"Well, I hope he'll be okay" Syrus murmured picking his Spell Card book.
Jaden was now in the island docks, Yubel hovering next to him, where they got promised by his step-dad a card: The Dark Magician Girl card. Jaden remembered the phone call he did that night.
(Flashback)
"Hello? Is that you Jaden?" the other person called from the phone.
"Yeah, it's me. It's been a while we don't talk… I really miss you already. I actually decided to call you, because I have a favor from you." Jaden said, while looking at the moon.
"And what favor do you need from me? If it's a ride, I cannot do it there in the Academy, son" Yugi said in a mocking voice. Jaden laughed.
"You wished I asked that… But things aside. This is an important thing I ask for. I have a friend in this island, we met during the Exam Entry. He has been a great company over this last 2 days and I kind of trust him like a second brother to me. His name's Syrus and his birthday will be in four days. He, apparently, told me that he has a crush… on my Sis, Dee. Could it be possible for you to hand him a card copy of her for his birthday gift from me?" Jaden asked, a little embarrassed by mentioning his sister on the phone call. Yugi started laughing at that
"What a surprise! To think someone would actually ask me for a card for a birthday gift. I'll tell you what, Dark Magician Girl was also missing you from these last two days… where you 'promised' you would call her" Yugi said, Jaden started coughing for forgetting that part. "But I do consider giving you a copy of her to keep giving you company. In fact, she also wanted to meet the friends you've been hanging out with. Give me 2-3 days, and the card will be given by a friend of mine. And also, some cheap costumes I might buy for you to make your friend's party."
"Thanks dad, I appreciate it a lot." Jaden yawned. "It's already this late and I have school tomorrow. I'll call you sometime later." he said about to turn off the phone.
"Bye, son." Yugi turned out the phone
(End Flashback)
A boat arrived next to the docks where Jaden was waiting. From the boat stopping, a person on his late-twenties came from it; with a brown-pointy hair and brown eyes, he was wearing a beige inspector coat. He got to the docks to greet Jaden with a smile, and some bags on his hands.
"Great to see you again, kid." The man said, putting the bags down to hug Jaden.
"I tell you the same thing, uncle Tristan." Jaden greeted the man, hugging him back. "So, where's the promised card?"
Tristan Taylor laughed, taking out the card from his coat pocket and giving it to him. "Honestly, to think there's still kids around having a 'crush' on cards. In what world do we live on?" he talked to himself, Jaden was now sweat laughing. If he mentioned his spirit friends to Tristan, it would be the end of him.
"Oh! And tell your friend, that I wish him a good year and good gifts from everyone. Whoever's YOUR friend, is MY friend too, J'D." Tristan waved back to his boat, to go back to Domino City.
Jaden waved him back, giving attention now to the card. 'Oh Boy! There will be a lot to explain…'
Not for his big surprise, Dark Magician Girl appeared from the Monster Realm to hug his brother.
"JADENNN! I MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" she said with dramatic animated tears. But then she hugged him tightly, remembering something. "You promised me… You would call me back!"
"Hnngh… It hurts Dee, it hurts! I'm sorry. I was busy with my roommate and friends all time. I couldn't find a moment where I could call you. Please forgive me…" Jaden said, grimacing from Dee's hug grip almost knocking him up.
"It's good to see you too, Dee." Yubel greeted her spirit friend. "How've been your training lately with Dark Magician?" she asked her with a smirk, the sorceress stopping the grip with a sweat smile.
"Erm… it went… fine, I guess. I've been training REALLY hard to become stronger than my master… but no success, a-ahahahah!" Dee answered with a nervous tone, trying to get someone to cheer on her.
"Well… if this could help, you can stay here while doing your Spell Training, Dee. Because there's someone I know, that… apparently has a crush on you!" Jaden still didn't feel comfortable saying the 'crush' part about his Big Sister.
"Someone… has a crush on me? I want to meet him…" she said with a begging voice.
"And you will, because in 3 days will be my friend's birthday. I want you to give him some company while I'll be out from his sight. He's a little sensitive and insecure about himself. But he's also nice and kind like you. I think you would like to stay with him. I'll just ask you to wait until then, so the surprise won't be ruined. Keep training until them." Jaden asked his sis.
"Humph… You don't need to tell me the obvious part… But can't you show me at least how is the person?" Dee asked curious. Jaden just sighed and showed her a picture of Syrus' ID photo card, and Dee nodded 'At least he's… good looking too'.
"Ok, I'll see you around, Jaden." Dee waved, ready to leave; but got interrupted by Yubel.
"Wait, Dee. Take this with you!" Yubel called her, her hands leaving her chest.
"What is it, Yubie?" Dee asked Yubel, a small dark orb being created from her arms. Yubel left the orb floating next to Dark Magician Girl, she was now holding it with her hands.
"What is this?" she asked. "Consider that… a welcoming to Duel Academy and 'Syrus birthday gift' from me and you." Yubel answered with a smile and waved her, Dee now leaving to the Monster Realm.
"You think that was necessary, Yubel?" Jaden asked next to her.
"I appreciate your concern for me, Jaden. But knowing Syrus, on this island, he won't survive too long if he just hangs out with you. He needs to get more attention around him. I just hope it works well." Yubel said, leaving to the Monster Realm too.
'Yeah… Hopefully." Jaden thought too, putting the card in his jacket pocket and carrying the bags to go to the Slifer dorm.
*Present day, with Syrus*
Syrus was still looking at the card he was holding, the same way he just won a trophy. He just thought he was dreaming for some reason. But it was all real, he just pinched his cheek to make sure he felt it.
But ignoring what he was doing, he put the card on his jacket pocket, picked his duel disk and picked the papers that were on his desk, so he could go to the school room Jaden was waiting for him.
He left the room with a grin; Dee was following him from behind, hovering. On the rooftop of Syrus' room, there was also Cleo, Jaden's spirit friend that got asked to keep an eye to Syrus, so he wouldn't go nearby the dorm.
She saw him go to the forests that led him to the Duel Academy, and decided to open her wings to fly above him, following him as well.
'Everything is going as planned!' Cleo thought, now seeing other two familiar students on the other side of the Slifer dorm. If something would go badly, the other spirit friends would say something inside the dorm.
What they forgot to think about, was that Syrus and Jaden weren't the only students outside the dorms, on the day-off.
Unfortunately for Syrus, he didn't get to much attention to where he was running; because first, he was looking at the papers he was holding tightly to see if they didn't fell, and second, he didn't want to take too long to get to Jaden' destiny. So, he crashed to another student that was also passing by forest; an Obelisk Blue student to make things worse.
Syrus fell from the crash, the card falling from his jacket pocket. The other student got up from the ground he fell and scolded angrily, "HEY LOSER! Watch where you're going"
"Erm… eh… I-I-I'm sorry…" Syrus gagged trembling. But then he looked to all the papers that fell from his hands, floating over him. One of them actually fell on the same place his card fell as well. Not taking too much risk, he decided to pick the card to hide it back in the jacket, avoid it to get revealed.
Unlucky to him, the Obelisk student took a glimpse of the card's image and smirked. "Hey Slifer Slacker… Nice card you have there. Hand over that Dark Magician Girl to me, your dirty hands are ruining it." He said now getting close to him. But Syrus decided to move back nervously, try to run away, but he couldn't… the papers were on the ground and he got asked by his friend to hand them to him.
Cleo was watching all that situation happening and gasped. She was gritting her teeth, disgusted by the Obelisk student action, and flied straight to where Jaden was. She had to explain what was going on, Syrus needed Jaden help.
Dee was also staring at Syrus hugging the card with nervous gulps, while the other student just kept walking closer and closer to him. "Are you going to start pissing yourself? Or will you give me that card, SLIFER!"
"I… I WON'T GIVE HER TO YOU… B… BACK OFF!" Syrus screamed with the most confidence he had. But the Obelisk just started laughing at what Syrus said.
"Her… You just treated a card for a 'Her'… isn't that pathetic, you loser?" he asked still walking closer.
"I SAID… BACK OFF!" Syrus glared, turning on his duel disk.
"Oh… you want to duel for 'Her'? Fine, let's go for the Anti-Rule: the winner gets the loser best card, Slifer Loser!" the Obelisk student showed a smile imp face, turning on his duel disk. Syrus was even more scared for the situation it was going on.
"But… that Anti Rule… isn't allowed. It's illegal…" he felt like he would start let out hiccups from how anxious he was.
"Who cares? Nobody is watching, and won't know! And this will be fast… you'll be handing the card in no time! I can't wait to show 'Her' what I'm all about!" the Obelisk started laughing.
"I have to do something…" Dee said to herself. She was feeling helpless, but remembered what Jaden mentioned before. With no more thinking, she went inside Syrus deck. 'Good luck, Syrus!' she wished in silence.
"DUEL!", "d-duel." The Obelisk and Syrus declared.
Round 1 – Obelisk Student (OS): 4000LP; Syrus (S): 4000LP
"I'll go first, Slifer! It's MY turn. I draw!" the Obelisk called, in his Draw Phase. "I'll start things by activating the spell card Graceful Charity: I'll draw 3 cards and next I send 2 to the graveyard." The Obelisk Student declared, drawing his cards and discarding other cards, "Then I'll make things 'simple', by summoning Cave Dragon in attack mode." He slapped the card on his duel disk.
To his field, it appeared a big dragon crawling the ground with spikes in its head, a spike-armor on his back sides. It growled, with his eyes staring the opponent (ATK: 2000 / DEF 100).
"Luckily for you, my Cave Dragon cannot attack if I don't control a dragon on my field. But we're still on my first turn. So, I'll just set these 2 cards face-down to end my turn." The Obelisk smirked cockily. Behind Cave Dragon, it revealed two set cards in the Spell/Trap Zone.
*with Jaden*
Jaden was still holding his back on the hallway wall, mumbling to himself "Hm… WHY is he taking so long? Did he forget his GPS, or he doesn't know where the Duel Academy school room is?"
"He's probably… no it can't be the case" Yubel thought to herself.
"WE HAVE TROUBLES! BIG ONES!" Cleo voice could be heard in screams, for the two other standing in the hallway give her attention.
"What's wrong, Cleo?" Jaden asked, seeing the spirit panting.
"Syrus… he's in a duel against an Obelisk. His opponent is using the Anti-Rule… to take out Dark Magician Girl from him!" Cleo explained, recovering herself from the tiresome.
"Syrus can't duel against that type of duelists with his state. What is he doing? Why didn't he reject the duel and ran away?" Jaden asked, shaking Cleo shoulders.
"Be… Because… the papers… fell to the… ground. If he ran away… he wouldn't do… what you asked him to do!" Cleo answered, with her head shaking front and back. Jaden's eyes widen and Yubel gritted her teeth. "Me and my predictions are just the worse possible things…"
"Sy… YOU IDIOT!" Jaden screamed and started to run away from the school hallway to look for his friend.
"Luckily, if he's holding on Dark Magician Girl, I can still track where he is." Yubel confirmed, hovering behind Jaden.
"I very much appreciate that, Yubel. LET'S GO!" Jaden started running faster and thinking 'I just hope I'll get there on time!'
*with Syrus*
He was going to start his round, paying attention to the opponent's field. A strong dragon and 2 cards face-down. 'But what could those cards possibly be? Spells? Traps? To protect the monster? Or to protect himself? I'll need to check this carefully…'
Round 2 – OS: 4000LP; S: 4000LP
"It's my turn!" Syrus declared drawing his card. "I activate my Pot of Greed: I can draw 2 cards from my deck. Next, I'll activate my Field Spell, Megaroid City!" Syrus opened the Field Spell Zone to insert the Field Spell there. The futuristic hologram roads started appearing over their field.
"Next I'll set a card; and activate the effect of my Megaroid City: I can destroy a card I control, to add from my deck a 'roid' card to my hand." Syrus explained, destroying his set card and adding a Gyroid to his hand. "My set card destroyed was Wonder Garage: it's activated when is destroyed; I can special summon a level 4 or lower 'Roid' machine from my hand. I'll summon Submarineroid in attack position."
Syrus slapped his card, the yellow and blue submarine coming from the Field Spell's ocean, holding a torpedo under it (ATK: 800ATK / DEF: 1800). "And next I summon Mixeroid in attack position too". Next to Submarineroid, it showed up another vehicle, but this time it was a green mixer with the symbol of 'Polymerization' on the concrete roller. Its tires lift it up, like they were legs, ready to attack. (ATK: 0 / DEF: 2200)
"Pff… I try to show how nice I can be… and this is how far you can go? Two weak monsters against mine? Whatever I'll do…" the Obelisk Student asked ironically.
"As for you… I don't know… But me, I'll just battle. Starting with my Submarineroid." Syrus pointed his submarine. "My Submarineroid might look weak, but its effect is a nice one: it can attack your Life Points directly. And it's what I'm going to do! Submarineroid, Launch your Torpedoes! 'Deep Depth Impact'!" Submarine let out the torpedo float straight to the Obelisk. It passed by the Cave Dragon, and Syrus continued his move.
"But wait now for the FUN part… Cause my Megaroid City has another effect: by sending a roid monster from my deck to the graveyard, I can switch the stats of a 'roid' monster its battling; by sending my Decoiroid, my Submarineroid gets even stronger during the Damage applied." Syrus explained placing the Roid from his deck to the graveyard, the torpedo growing up in size. (ATK: 800 - 1800 / DEF: 1800 - 800).
"Grr… You Slifer punk…" the Obelisk student gritted his teeth, holding himself from the torpedo impact. (OS: 4000 - 2200)
"Unfortunately, Megaroid City effect can only be used once per turn… but since my Submarineroid successfully attacked, its changed to Defense Position. I'll place 2 cards face-down to end my turn." Syrus finished, with Submarineroid protecting itself with the torpedo holders, behind the monsters it showed 2 cards being placed face-down.
*with Dark Magician Girl*
She was in another place. It was the actual Megaroid City… But the futuristic roads were empty and the entries were closed. The sky was also grey, covered in clouds. Dee expected the Roid monster to cross the roads to meet their end route, but there was nothing like that. What she saw instead was some vehicles on a tour walk, far from the roads.
They were probably hiding there, so she decided to come closer. It was Cycroid, a one-eye-bike with arms instead of handlebars, Gyroid, a blue helicopter with silver helices, and Jetroid, a red fighter aircraft, that had its tires looking like arms and legs. From the top of the tour walk, there was another vehicle, a white and cyan fire engine. It was Rescueroid, it looked like it was the alpha from all the Roid monsters.
"What's going on? Where's everyone else?" Dee asked, now closer to the other vehicles. Even thou the vehicles didn't have a mouth to speak, luckily for her, they could let out sounds that she could be understand.
"The other vehicles decided to hide themselves from this… catastrophe!" Cycroid explained from the bell ringing.
"Our summoner is trying to 'protect' us from… being destroyed by THIS monster." Gyroid continued with the sound of its helices.
"We were the only… ones that decided to protect him by all costs." Jetroid finished, with the stream leaving from it.
"Oh no! This is not good…" Dee tried to tell that to herself, but Rescueroid interrupted her from the top.
"This is NOT GOOD! This is TERRIBLE! We were used to be cards treated to be used on respected duels. We're no match against monsters who want to watch us suffer and get burnt into ashes. In the end, we'll just end up being 'toy-junk' to be sent to the scrapyard."
"I… isn't there anything I can do to help? I can offer myself to fight by your side!" Dee offered herself to save them at least. The vehicles looked at each other, then to her.
"In our City…" Cycroid started
"… there's a skyscraper in the middle of it…" Gyroid continued. Dee looked at the mentioned skyscraper.
"… our summoner's bond with us… is inside the top step of it." Jetroid ended. Dee understood that and nodded, hovering directly to the skyscraper.
'I'm coming to rescue you, Syrus' Dark Magician Girl thought with a serious look.
'Good luck, our saviour!' Rescueroid thought to itself, hoping they could be saved too.
*with Syrus*
It was now the Obelisk turn.
Round 3 – OS: 2200; S: 4000
"Hmph… It's my turn then. I draw!" the Obelisk Student smirked at the card he drew. "I activate Dragon's Shrine: I'll send a Dragon from my deck to the graveyard. But here's the best part, if the Dragon monster I sent is a Normal Monster in my graveyard, I can send one more Dragon with it; I'm sending Armored Dragon, a Normal Monster, so I'll send Samsara Dragon with it." He sent the 2 monsters from his deck to the graveyard.
"Now, the effect of my Samsara Dragon activates: I'll banish it in my graveyard, to Special Summon a Dragon monster from my Graveyard too; I summon a dragon I sent before with Graceful Charity, thee Lancer Windwurm in the offense!" next to Cave Dragon, a legionnaire dragon showed itself, holding a spear (ATK: 1800 / DEF: 1200)
"And why having only 2 dragons, when you can have more? I activate my face-down, my Continuous Trap, Birthright: I can special summon a Normal Monster from my graveyard. Guess who, it's my Armored Dragon I sent to the grave just now." On the other side, in front of the trap, it showed up a wicked dragon, with steel wings and spiky amor around him, dark scales around it. (ATK: 1900 / DEF: 1400)
"To finish this up, I'll normal summon for turn… Fly! Alexandrite Dragon. In attack position." A big dragon with golden scales behind him started growling together with the other monsters, opening their wings. (ATK: 2000 / DEF: 100)
*with Dark Magician Girl*
She finished reaching to the top of the skyscraper, passing through the window.
What she saw there wasn't Syrus in his normal size. He was smaller, and it wasn't even a human; it was a light-aura humanoid-kid ghost. And what was odder, it's that he wasn't so nervous, like the original form; he was relaxed, playing with his vehicle toys, on the playground on the floor.
He noticed Dark Magician Girl coming closer to him, and he turn his head up; even thou his face couldn't be revealed, from the light aura covering it.
"Hey… do you want… to play with me?" the ghost asked her.
"Huh? What? Who are you?" Dee asked worried/scared.
"Me? I… I am the bond formed by my friends. I can play here in this playground floor, with all my friends. They like when I make them move around the roads. They feel… 'alive'. However, all my other friends… are inside that box. I can't play with them all… without my friends by my side." The ghost explained looking at the chained box. It looked like it was nice locked.
'The bond formed by his friends. Could he be the summoner's bond the Jet monster mentioned just a while ago? If that's the case… then THIS is Syrus' comfort zone' Dee thought to herself with a smile. It looked, cute none of less.
"I'll open you the locked box, so we can play together." She said to the Syrus' ghost, he was now paying attention to her…
*with Syrus*
Syrus was there… expressionless. Four dragons on the opponent's side of the field. It was just his second turn, and he already had a set of monsters to counter attack him. But luckily for him…
'I just hope he doesn't know about my Megaroid City's effect. If they attack my Mixeroid… I might have a chance to protect him.' Syrus thought to himself, trembling a little. However, he heard the Obelisk Student laugh to himself.
"Ehehe… You think I would be a loser like you, IDIOT! You think I would fall from attacking your mixed toy, so you could activate the Field spell to protect yourself… Unlucky for you, I have my set card. It's my Spell Card, Stamping Destruction: since I control a dragon, I'll destroy your Field Spell, and deal you 500 damage. It's Payback Time!" The spell card revealed itself, a dragon flame being thrown from it to destroy the Megaroid City. Syrus felt uneasy to do this, but he didn't have other choice…
"I'll activate my set card… my quick-play spell, Emergency Provisions: as many Spell/Trap cards I control are sent to the graveyard, I'll gain 1000LP for each one; I'll send my Megaroid City." Syrus declared, taking out his Field Spell from his Field Spell Zone, worried now about his monsters (S: 4000 - 5000), 'I'm sorry, Mixeroid… I failed you…'
"Lucky move… But not SO lucky about this! Let's battle!" The Obelisk guy said with a cocky smile, thinking he decided the game. "My Cave Dragon will attack your Mixeroid! Use your 'GAIA BLAST ATTACK'!" the mentioned dragon opened his jaw, and let out a yellow aura stream, that went straight to the Mixeroid.
"Gahhhh! My monster… got destroyed…" Syrus got scared, losing his Life Points and Mixeroid exploding from the attack. (S: 5000 - 3000).
*With Dee*
She and the ghost fell to the ground from some impact, they heard an explosion outside. Dee looked outside and saw the sky turning red with the clouds, and some giant dragon coming close to the City. They were sending blasts from their jaws, destroying the futuristic roads from the blast impacts.
'So that's why the entries were closed, without other vehicles passing the roads… and that locked box. Did he plan this all along?' Dee gave now attention to the ghost and got her eyes wide open, when she saw what was happening. The ghost was now trembling, the playground floor being burnt into ashes.
"When Megaroid City is sent to the graveyard… my floor is destroyed as well. I needed to do this… to save myself, and my friends…" the ghost said, losing himself from anxiety. Dee looked at him and thought to herself.
'What can I possibly do in moments like this? I'm not a strong sorceress like my master… But I can't let down people in need. I might still need some more spell casting training; but I will rescue Syrus. For his gentle and kind heart he has for his friends, I'll do it, if it's not the LAST thing I'll do before I go!' she said seriously, now holding her wand, that appeared from her calling.
"What… are you going… to do?" the ghost asked, his head turning to her.
"The obvious! I'm going to protect your City from those dragons!" Dee said with a confident tone.
A magic ball got created from her wand, while she started to murmur/chant some words.
*With Syrus*
"AHAHAHAHA! This was so easy. You'll be handing over the DMG to me, you Slifer Scum. Trying to act cool and all, you just embarrassed yourself! I can't wait to see the look on your face; once I order 'Her' to serve me in my room to spite you, LOSER!" The Obelisk Student laughed.
However, Syrus was having enough of that trash-talk… Dark Magician Girl this… Dark Magician Girl that…
"For the last time… I WON'T… HAND HER OVER … TO YOU! YOU HEARD ME, YOU SCUMBAG?!" Syrus screamed with all his lungs, still trembling with how much strength he had.
"Big words, coming from a cry baby like you! Did you forget? It's still my battle phase… and my monsters are so vicious to crash your other Toy and your Life Points. Armored Dragon, show that little submarine who's BOSS! 'Dragon Roar'!" the mentioned dragon let out a roar from it, the roaring vibration went straight to Submarineroid, that was trembling. Syrus had to do it… for his friend.
"I flip over my Trap Card, Cyber Repairer: this turn, all my Machine monsters are immune to battle destruction; However, you get to draw a card." The attack went through the Submarine, and the Obelisk drew his card. The opponent smirked at it.
"Fine! You escaped my monster's attacks this turn… But your monster won't escape from this card. My Spell Card, Raigeki: it destroys all monsters you control! Say goodbye to your submarine one last time, you cry baby!" A thunder storm went straight to the machine, destroying into pixels.
Syrus looked at that with tears falling his eyes. He was weak, he couldn't handle all that anymore. Not alone. He started murmuring to himself "I… Can't win this. I'm sorry mum… Jaden, I let you down… and… Dark… Magician Girl… I… can't protect you!" Syrus tried to hide his face with the hair bangs, hiding his ashamed look.
*with Dark Magician Girl*
The ghost next to her was grasping his chest. Tears were falling from him from the stress his original form was having right now. Dee was almost finishing her chant to create her attack to try destroying the dragons that were in the City roads.
However, a dark orb appeared from her gem necklace; darkness from the dark orb expanded over Dee, for her own surprise. A vertical draconic eye got open to look at Dee, behind her. Dee knew to who it belonged.
"Yubel? Is that you?" Dee asked.
"It appears you're using your powers… that means you are currently in danger. I expected one day that would happen, when I gave you that orb…" Yubel's eye murmured.
"I… I don't know what I can do… I'm just a sorceress in training to become stronger, but I feel worthless right now! What can I possibly do in moments like this?" Dee asked her, trying not to sob.
"Isn't that obvious? You ask to create a bond with the ones in need!"
"Create a bond… but with all these machines… I…" Dee thought to herself, when Yubel interrupted her.
"Dee… Syrus is willing to protect you with all his heart, his friends are protecting you too. I think it's time for you to return the favor. He holds a deep bond right now with you, because he thinks of you as one of his precious friends.
"Syrus is… my friend?" Dee said those last words to herself, then closed her eyes to think. "A bond… with the ones in need." but then she remembered what the ghost said 'They like when I make them move around the roads. They feel… 'alive'."
"THAT'S IT! I know what to do!" Dee brightened, now looking at Yubel's eye.
"Yubel… I'll request your aid for this one" Dee said smirking, with an idea in her mind. The eye started laughing at her.
"I like that look on you, Dee! FINE… let's end this TRAUMA once and for all." The eye finished talking and sent purple wave-vibes to Dark Magician Girl. Dee was starting to feel stronger than before, the darkness now leaving. It was now her and the ghost again inside the room.
Dee looked at the ghost and smiled cheerfully at him. She felt like she could now surpass her master, but that feeling flew away. A new motivation appeared in front of her, Dee was now pointing the wand to the destroyed playground floor.
"W… What are you going to do?" the ghost asked, still in tears.
"Do you need to ask? Of course… I'm going to save you, Syrus!" she answered, smiling.
"Save… me? But why? I'm too weak and lonely, without my friends. Why would someone be interested in saving a lost cause like me? Who needs me?" Syrus asked anxious, behind his light aura.
"Me! I need you, Syrus! I'll save you from the deepest problems you'll ever face. Because you're not weak, neither lonely. You're a strong, sweet and love-caring duelist. You're the first person I met that treat your vehicles like they were lively creatures… Like they are your real friends." Dee explained, the wand now shinning deep into the playground floor. The floor became a white-space area around them. Behind Dee, the locked box started to unlock itself from her powers.
"Just… who are you?" it was the ghost last words, before Dee closed his lips with her finger.
"I… am your friend, Syrus!" Dee answered, cheerfully.
Syrus face got revealed from his ghost form, with real tears on his eyes. 'Dark Magician Girl… It really is YOU!' Syrus thought.
Dee then held up her wand, chanting: "By the Summoner' Might, the Magic' Cicle, the Roid's Strength. I'll use the powers of the unknown evolution to connect us all in one bond! MAGICIAN'S CIRCLE, Activate!".
Inside the room, a white pentagram got formed, filling the floor' room. Some magic words were crossed over the pentagram' circumference, and a pole was in one side bursting a blue flame.
From outside the skyscraper, a light-pink light blowout over the city, like a magic explosion. Gyroid, Jetroid, Cycroid and Rescueroid looked at the sight with an awe for a last time, the last one then closed his eyes.
"Our saviour… Succeeded on saving us!" those were his words before getting in contact with the light.
The dragons looked at the light too, but instead of get 'saved' by the light, they vanished from it. Dee held her breath, ready for her last words from the chant: "NEURO LINK, Open!"
*with Jaden and Yubel*
They were now running to the forest, where Yubel could still track Dee, from the orb she gave her on her arrival to the island. But then Yubel stopped, closing her eyes and hiding her middle vertical eye, with a strange feeling.
"Yubel, are you okay?" Jaden asked to his spirit friend, concerned.
"I… How… Dee… succeeded on creating a neuro link… with Syrus. She's… able to communicate with him!" Yubel said with a smile. Everything has worked like planned.
"You mean… Syrus can…" Jaden wanted to continue, but he saw a light coming from a direction on the forest. He stopped his talking and decided to run for it. 'I'm so close!'
*with Syrus*
Syrus deck started to glow. His monsters that were in his hand were changing in the art and the card's effect. He was looking at how the cards were looking like they were new. And surprisingly, he felt Dark Magician Girl whispering behind him.
"Let's do this, my friend Syrus!"
His field was empty, no monsters, neither Spell/Trap cards to protect him. His Field Spell wasn't also there. He only had two new monster cards in his hand. It was now his turn to draw, but he decided to look at his opponent.
"Are you done… with your turn?" Syrus asked with a new confidence.
"Huh? Oh yeah, I was just enjoying stomping on your 'feeling for her', waiting for my time to get serviced. I'll end my turn!" The Obelisk student said with a cocky smirk, the four dragons still roaring at Syrus.
Round 4 – OS: 2200LP; S: 3000LP
"Okay! It's MY TURN!" Syrus drew his new card and looked at it, a plan coming to his mind. "Alright, get yourself ready for this! I'll show you what happens when you face a duelist with a taste of Magic and Machinery! It's my new Field Spell, Mystical Machine – Hyper Library, activate."
Syrus inserted the new Field Spell on his Field Spell Zone, new holograms covering over the field. A giant futuristic two-step library got revealed, filled with bookshelves everywhere. There were sorcerers with different rob colors everywhere, picking books and trying new magic sorcery with them.
On the end of the library, there was a gold globe and under it, there was a scepter, that was bursting mana from its orb, crossing with a silver iron tube that was letting out smoke from it.
"What… what is this field?" the Obelisk student asked.
"A new library, where a new bond got formed. By uniting powers from Magic and Science, it was created a new one. We call it 'Mystic Gears that controls the Enchanted Technology'! In another words… the Mystical Machines of Technomancy." Dark Magician Girl spirit explained, only Syrus could hear her by some reason.
"Powers of Magic and Science… combined in a bond!" Syrus said to himself. 'THAT'S SO AWESOOOME!' he thought with a hiding grin.
"So what? Is just a library for fitting nerds like you, Loser! I'll let you know your place in no time, just you wait." The Obelisk Student said with an annoyed look on his face, his four dragons growling inside it. For their surprise, all the sorcerers stopped what they were doing to look serious and unamused at the opponent.
"Hyper Library isn't a place to joke around. And I'll prove it to you with its effect: When I successfully activate it, I can add a level 6 or lower "Magician" friend from my deck to my hand." Syrus explained, adding a card to his hand. "And I summon this one to my field. Rise Heli Magician!" Syrus inserted the monster on his duel disk.
Appearing on the field was a silver-haired magician, with a large bang covering her left eye. She was wearing a blue hat covering her hair, a blue cloak with a grey robe underneath, and rust-colored boots. On her back, there was a pair of helicopter blades. On her waist, there was a gem on her cloak with an 'hexagram' symbol; and she was also wearing a belt, on her torso, with a 'gear' symbol.
She held her wand with a serious look on her face (ATK: 1000 / DEF: 1000). 'Is she supposed to be Gyroid?' Syrus thought to himself, before talking.
"My Heli Magician has a special ability: I can special summon a Level 4 or lower "Magician" from my hand; I'll special summon my Level 4, Jet Magician in defense mode. If I apply this effect, Heli Magician is changed to defense position." Syrus inserted a new card to the duel disk. Heli Magician held her wand to her left side to create a portal.
Appearing on the field was a red cloaked and trouser magician, his red hat was up covering his blonde hair. In its hands were two jet turbine teeth and on its back were two red wings, part of a jet aero plane costume. Just like Heli Magician, he had a gem stuck in his cloak, with the 'hexagram' symbol; a 'gear' symbol on the belt on his torso. (ATK: 1200 / DEF: 1800). 'This one looks like Jetroid, now I understand what's going on!' Syrus thought, seeing his Jet Magician holding on his wand just like Heli.
The two Magicians took a knee and crossed their arms to protect themselves. And the Obelisk Student was confused.
"Wait a damn minute… 'Magicians'? In a Roid deck? You're cheating, I know you did…" he scolded.
"Big words… Coming to someone who wanted to apply the Anti-Rule of taking the loser's best card! And I'm not finished yet with my turn, because my Jet Magician has an ability too: When he's special summoned, I can add a 'Mystical Machine' or 'Technomancy' Spell or Trap from my deck to my hand." Jet Magician's gem started to shine and Syrus added a card to his hand.
"I'll set a card face-down before ending my turn." He set his card with a huge sigh. He looked to his right, where Dark Magician was next to him. She gave him an ok-sign, smiling.
Jaden reached the place where the light led him and saw Syrus facing the mentioned opponent. He made a surprised look when he looked at the monsters Syrus had on the field. They just looked like the monster cards he saw 5 days ago. Dark Magician Girl turned her attention to Jaden and gave him a piece sign, meaning that everything was going well.
Round 5 – OS: 2200LP; S: 3000LP
"Grr! It doesn't matter how much better you've become; it won't change the outcome of the duel! It's MY TURN!" the Obelisk drew his card and smirked. "I'll activate MY Spell Card, Pot of Greed: I'll draw 2 cards from my deck." He drew his cards and laughed. "I'll give you credit to at least try to defend yourself this much, but this is when I'll call your worse enemies! I summon Dragonic Warrior. Let them feel your blade!" he slapped the card on his duel disk.
From the four dragons, it appeared a wicked warrior, grabbing a giant sword. The warrior was wearing a gold Roman suit, with a dragon skull in each of his elbows. (ATK: 1500 / DEF: 1000)
"And let me tell you what happens when a Knight and a Dragon combine their powers. I activate my Spell Card, Dragon Unit Ritual: by sending one card from my hand to the graveyard, I'll send Armored Dragon with Dragonic Warrior; to Special Summon from my deck, my Level 7, Dragonic Knight in attack position!".
The spell card activated, swallowing the two monsters in a storm. From it, it flied an armored dragon, with silver shields covering the dragon like a knight. It held its shield and sword, while letting out a growl. (ATK: 2800 / DEF: 2300)
"Next, I'll activate the Spell Card, Card Advance: I can check the top 5 cards of my deck, and place them in an order I want. But I can also perform an additional Tribute Summon this turn. Which is good, when I can tribute my Lancer Lindwurm, to Tribute Summon my Level 6, White-Horned Dragon, in attack position too!"
A giant red dragon appeared growling violently, with a giant white horn on the top of its head. Its body was covered in red scales. (ATK: 2200 / DEF: 1400) "And its ability activates: I can banish Spell Cards from YOUR graveyard, and my Dragon gets stronger by 300 ATK for each card banished. I see you have 3 spell cards in your graveyard. Which means my dragon gains 900 ATK!" The dragon's horn started to shine, while Syrus spells were getting banished; but he didn't show any concern (ATK: 2200 - 3100 / DEF: 1400).
"Hmph, I see nothing I do now can scare you. But let's see if these attacks might scare you. Battle! Cave Dragon, attack the Jet kid!" Cave Dragon opened his jaw to let out the yellow aura stream to reach the red kneeling monster. However, Syrus was waiting for that…
"Oh no, you don't! I flip over my face-down card, my Trap Card, Mystical Machine – Invisible Cloak: it becomes an equip card to a "Magician" monster I control; it gains 300 DEF, also it can't be destroyed by battle. I'll equip it on my Jet Magician." Syrus declared, a new cloak appeared next to Jet Magician, where he wore it. (ATK: 1200 / DEF: 1800 - 2100).
The dragon attack reached Jet Magician, but the Invisible Cloak he was wearing absorbed the yellow stream from one side, and threw it back from the other side right to the dragon. Cave Dragon felt his own attack head-on, and his summoner gritted his teeth; he lost some points (OS: 2200 - 2100).
"Fine! But the same thing won't happen to the other 'friend' of yours. Alexandrite Dragon, attack the Heli Cutie. 'Golden Dust Storm'!" Alexandrite Dragon opened his wings, the gold particles leaving him and creating a storm that went straight to the Magician. She screamed, getting destroyed by the storm; 'Forgive me, Heli' Syrus said. The Hyper Library started to glow from Heli Magician destruction.
"Now the fun part begins, punk. Since you destroyed my 'Magician', my Mystical Machine - Hyper Library another effect activates: I get to draw a card from my deck; if the card is a 'Magician' monster with the same or lower level than my destroyed monster, I can special summon it." Syrus said looking at his deck, and picking the top card of it. "C'mon my friends. Help me win this game…"
"I DRAW!" Syrus drew his card and revealed it, with a smile. "Just the card I needed, I play my Level 3, Pair Magician in defense mode." Syrus inserted the card next to the Jet Magician one.
On Syrus side, appeared a brown-haired Magician, wearing light-orange cloak and trousers and grey-rusted shoes. He had brown gloves, holding a bell on his left side arm and the wand on the other arm; he had one training wheel on each side of the foot. Like the other Magicians, he had the same 'hexagram' and 'gear' symbols on the respective places. He took a knee when he got summoned (ATK: 800 / DEF: 1000). 'This Magician… is Cycroid!' Syrus said with a smile.
"HA! More Magicians my Dragons can kill! Dragonic Knight, crush that loser holding the bell! Go, 'Enraged Dragonic Slash'!" Dragonic Knight held his sword up and slashed it down to the Pair Magician's body. The Magician screamed; his bell started letting out a calling ring before he was gone; he was calling for reinforcements.
"It looks like I know why my friend is so called 'Pair' Magician… Cause when you destroyed him, his effect activated: I can special summon up to 2 'Pair Magicians' from my deck in defense mode." Syrus explained, taking out 2 cards from his deck and placing them. Two Pair Magician appeared on his side, kneeling. (2 x (ATK: 800 / DEF: 1000))
"You and your mockery… White-Horned Dragon, attack one of the Magicians, with 'Darkness Pulse'!" the Obelisk declared, getting tired already from the duel. The dragon let out a dark ray from his jaw to one of Pair Magicians on the field, destroying it.
Syrus looked at his other Pair Magician with a gentle smile 'Thank you for protecting me.' The mentioned Magician looked back with a smirk and nodded at him.
"Grr! Fine, I'll end my turn! You're just delaying the expected! You're going to lose this, and you know it!" the Obelisk student said, not understanding why Syrus wasn't scared anymore.
"You know nothing!" Syrus said with his head down.
"What was that, Slifer Slacker?"
"I SAID… You know NOTHING! You treat your cards like tools… shameful and disrespectful way to call yourself a duelist! You only wanted to show how much scary you could be; looking down on someone like me, just because I am insecure…" Syrus said with an angry tone.
"Me and my deck share friendship bonds you will never understand! You only care for what're the strongest cards, and throw the rest to the trash. You should be ashamed of yourself." Syrus concluded, crossing his arms. Jaden listened to what Syrus just said, and smiled at what he accomplished. It was all because Dark Magician Girl was there to help him.
"SHUP THE FUCK UP AND MAKE YOUR TURN! YOU WILL LOSE, AND THAT'S THAT!" the Obelisk screamed, just so he got called by Jaden with an angry/death glare at him.
"HEY! WHATCH YOUR TONGUE! Unless you want me to come over there to cut it for you!" Syrus gave attention now to Jaden and got a big smile on his face. His Big Bro was now supporting him on his duel.
Round 6 – OS: 2200LP; S: 3000LP
Syrus only had one card in his hand. He looked at his deck, with his fingers touching the top card. But at the same time, he felt other fingers on top of his. It was from Dee next to him, with a gentle nod; he nodded back at her too.
"IT'S… MY… TUUUUURN!" he drew his card and declared. "I activate my Spell Card, Graceful Charity: I draw 3 cards from my deck, and discard 2." Syrus said, drawing his cards and discarding two cards. One of the cards was what he wanted.
"I tribute my Pair Magician… to tribute summon the one and ONLY, Level 6, my Dark Magician Girl!" Syrus inserted his 'idol' on the duel disk. The spirit of Dark Magician Girl that was next to Syrus presented herself to the field. She was holding her staff, ready for action. (ATK: 2000 / DEF: 1700)
"EH! There 'it' is! The card that will belong to me in no time!" the Obelisk mocked, looking at the sorceress with perverted eyes.
"She won't belong to you… and I'll tell you why! Because I'm going to send my Dark Magician Girl and my Jet Magician to the graveyard." Syrus declared picking his monsters. Dee and Jet nodded to each other, understanding what his summoner was about to do, and they clashed their wands together, a 'BAM' sound forming from the collision.
"And why would you send your monsters to the grave? To throw in the towel?" the opponent asked. Syrus only answered, picking a card from his extra deck.
"For this… I can Fusion Summon this Fusion Monster by sending the monsters I control to the graveyard as Fusion Materials!" Syrus sent Dark Magician Girl and Jet Magician Girl to the graveyard and started the chant. "'Disciple of Dark Magic, break the basic knowledges of Science… and fuse yourself into a smoke cloud that will guide to a new discovery!'. I FUSION SUMMON! The level 8, Jetstream Magician Girl!"
Syrus inserted the card he took from the extra deck, Jet Magician transformed into a vortex, rolling over Dark Magician Girl; her clothes started changing. She was now wearing a purple jumpsuit, still with the pink lines over her dress. Her hat was now pointing up, like her master, but was light-purple, with the pink rings crossing it. Her wand was now a bigger iron scepter. On its back was showing an iron tube with hot smoke leaving from it, spreading over Jetstream. On the gem in her waist, showed the 'gear' symbol between the 'hexagram' symbol. (ATK: 2800 / DEF: 2100)
"A Fusion Monster… summoned without Polymerization… That's impossible!" the student looked at it. Jaden was also expressionless together with Yubel. They never saw Dee get to evolve… like THAT! Only her in a knight armor mounting a dragon… but that was that.
"Say whatever you want… You should've never messed up with me! Jetstream Magician Girl, attack his Cave Dragon! Unleash your 'SORCERESS CYCLONE'!" Syrus declared, Jetstream grabbing her scepter with her full-hands; then pointed to the Cave Dragon and threw a dark-wind cyclone with the scepter gem. The Dragon screamed, getting destroyed by the storm, and the Obelisk was gasping, losing his Life Points and stayed on his knees. (OS: 2100 - 1300).
"I'll finish my turn by setting a card face-down and end my turn!" Syrus finished his turn, with a huge sigh leaving him. He felt like cringing, by making a play like this one; he then turned to see Jaden that was still watching him with… a 'friend' next to him.
He looked back at Jetstream Magician Girl in front of him, with his full confidence. He felt like it was his victory.
Round 7 – OS: 1300LP; S: 3000LP
The Obelisk started laughing in front of Syrus, with a plan on his mind. "Hey, Loser! You might have forgotten something… Last turn I activated my Card Advance… which means I know the card I'm going to draw. And that's bad news for you! Because I draw for MY TURN!" he drew his card and activated immediately "It's my Spell Card, Fissure, activate: I'll destroy your monster, since is the only monster with lower attack on your field. You're a goner!"
The Spell Card activated; a claw appeared from it to destroy Syrus' monster. A smoke cloud was made from it on Syrus' field, the Obelisk Student started laughing maniacally. Jaden and Yubel however felt like they saw a hat still pointing from the smoke, now leaving the field. They sighed from the situation, because Jetstream Magician Girl was still in the field, intact.
"What the FUCK? The monster was supposed to be destroyed by my Spell… What's going on?"
"It's her ability, you idiot! If you knew sooner… you would've known my Jetstream Magician Girl can't be destroyed by card effects. You wasted your Spell Card for nothing!" Syrus explained crossing his arms.
"Calling me 'idiot'… you're forgetting she's weaker than my dragon! It's over already, you Loser! White-Horned Dragon, finish that blondie with your attack, 'Darkness Pulse'!" The dragon let out his dark ray from his jaw and went right to Jetstream.
"You're right… it's OVER already… FOR YOU! I flip over my TRAP, Unite Spell: I can banish a 'Magician' from my graveyard; my 'Magician' friend gains ATK equal to the banished card. I'll banish my Dark Magician Girl… to raise my Jetstream Magician Girl attack!". Syrus activated his trap, Dee appeared next to the Jetstream nodding and gave her mana from the wand; Jetstream started feeling more powerful. (ATK: 2800 - 4800 / DEF: 2100)
"4-4… FOURTY EIGHT HUNDRED ATTACK? NO! Stop my Attack, you stupid dragon!" The Obelisk Student ordered his dragon, scared.
"It's TOO late! You can't stop this attack, whatever you say! You LOST! Jetstream Magician Girl, my friend, PUNISH HIM!" Syrus declared, Jetstream nodding and her scepter absorbing the Dragon's attack. The scepter' back started release more smoke and Jetstream sent the dragon's attack right back to the dragons and the opponent.
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!" He just screamed in despair, his Life Points falling down. (OS: 1400 - 0)
SYRUS WON THE DUEL!
He was panting, noticing how he successfully beaten his opponent with his new cards. He felt like his new confidence didn't come from him, but from his deck. His friends got his back on tight moments like this, and Syrus felt like thanking them for everything.
On the hyper library, all the magicians were stomping their wands to the floor, showing his new summoner a new emotion: Satisfaction…
The Obelisk student got up from the floor, scared of Syrus' new personality, and ran away. He still couldn't believe he lost to a Slifer like him. As for Syrus, he still was looking at all magicians supporting them; the only action he did was just bowing his head down to all them, showing them his gratitude.
*with Dark Magician Girl*
She was now inside the Hyper Lybrary, the new field spell was giving life to the new sorcerers, that were now celebrating their victory against their enemy. Some magicians hugged each other, other were throwing magic spells on their spot (safe ones…); in the end, they were just happy they received a miracle from their savior. All that Dee could do was just smile, glad that she could save his new summoner's friends.
"And now… a large welcome to our savior, our Mistress, Dark Magician Girl!", a red-haired sorcerer declared. He had the appearances to be the oldest sorcerer of all magicians there in the library; he had a cyan cloak, white robes and was wearing cyan boots to match his cloak. Just like the other magicians, he also had the 'hexagram' on the gem stuck on his cloak, the 'gear' symbol on his belt.
'Could he… that fire engine I met before saving Syrus?' she asked, looking at the mentioned sorcerer walking close to her. "Uhm… hi.", Dee waved at the sorcerer now looking at her.
"It's an honor to finally meet you in this place. My name is Rescue Magician, you probably noticed me back in the Megaroid City tour. I was the fire engine, Rescueroid. Thanks to you and your incredible magic, we could finally surpass our fears. We are in dept for you, oh our great Mistress.", Rescue Magician and the other magicians were now kneeling and bowing their head to Dark Magician Girl.
"Eh… Me? A Mistress? But I did what I thought it would be the best to save a friend in need. I have no reasons to be a Mistress…"
"That's not true!", a kid's voice appeared, that made Dee remember from who it belonged.
"Is it you, Syrus?" she thought, now looking at the direction where the voice came. She saw the same light-aura ghost she met on the City' skyscraper, but now he was floating everywhere inside the library, happily.
"You're right, and wrong… I am the embodiment of the bound I have with my friends. Ever since I saw you join my deck... I knew you would try to save us. But I was afraid too! Afraid that you would wouldn't like to stay here. Because, I don't duel for competition... I always used to play around and help my friends, because I CARE about them. Even if it costs me to lose a piece of my body, I would do anything to protect my friends.", the ghost said with all honesty.
"But… I am just a sorceress; I have no qualities compared to my Master. He is the one that has those needs to be a Magician to earn that title." Dee tried to not patronize herself.
"But it wasn't your Master who saved me from my weaknesses, you did … no, you saved US! If you would become our Mistress, we promise that we'll make you the strongest sorcerer we'll ever know! You will be the first Sorceress that will master the bonds of your Magic with our Wisdom for Technology. It's just like you said… 'WE are the Mystical Machines of Technomancy'!"
Dee felt too flattered about what she heard from Syrus bound. She couldn't even believe she would be so useful of a card to help him. She reached to his agreement.
"Fine! Let's us all get along… Everyone, and mostly you, Syrus!" Dee cheered, the light-aura ghost and all Magicians screamed and threw their hats to the air. A new Sorceress joined their crew.
*with Syrus*
He turned off his duel disk, the Hyper Library and all Magician holograms that were waving at him were now leaving from his sight. All Magicians except one… Dark Magician Girl, in her original outfit. Dee' spirit was now looking at him cheerfully, over the shining sun that illuminated them. Syrus couldn't stop looking at her blonde hair, how it was illuminating through the sun rays.
'This… is how 'we' met.' Syrus thought with a blush.
- END OF CHAPTER 5 -
Syrus was laying on the ground of his bedroom, with colored pencils and a piece of paper. With a smiled look on him, he got up from the floor; he had finished doing his drawing and went downstairs, where he could see a grown-up woman sitting on the sofa in the living room.
"Mama! Look, look! Do you like my picture?" Syrus showed his paper to his mum, showing a lot of color scribbles, mainly blue, yellow and pink.
"Oh, son… it looks beautiful. Who were you trying to draw?" his mum asked curiously.
"You see, you see… I saw from my television this magician, she smiled at me… and I wanted to draw it. Dark Magician Girl is the best magician ever!" Syrus said jumping, shaking his paper around.
"You sure like to be this active. I'll tell you this, son. If you grow up with a kind heart like yours, maybe one day you will meet her…" his mum told him with a cherished look.
"Really? You mean it? I love you mum!" Syrus said, hugging his mum
"I love you too, my precious Syrus…" Emma grabbed Syrus and hugged him, not letting him go.
And we're back, and GOD did I enjoy to write this chapter? My heart is now doki-doki for these two. I either consider JadenxYubel, JadenxAlexis or SyrusxDMG as my favorite Yu-Gi-Oh Gx best pairings. You still probably wondering why I only wrote this chapter... during Syrus birthday. Don't worry, I got your back on this one, folks ;) . I just felt it was necessary to end it like this... the real reason at how they met each other... was it by FAIT? LOVE BOND? Nobody will never know xd. All I know is that I saw the Jaden vs Blair duel, where Zane said that in the past Syrus was in a steady relationship with Dark Magician Girl... and I took that personally XD.
I just hope I can leave one last chapter before I start my full-time job (winning money is hard, you know... answering clients as a store employee isn't an easy issue. But I'm not mad for the job. My colleagues are an awesome team 3 .
I'll see YOU guys in the next chapter; leave rates & reviews, follow me on Twitch. I once again... thank you lads and gents for still reading my story :) . See ya, later! Salut!
