Kobayashi, Elma, and Tohru were walking home together. Well, technically, Tohru was the one doing the walking for Elma. They had reached the door of Kobayashi's apartment. Lucoa was there waiting for them.
"Hey, you guys! Finally back from work, I see. How was your first day together?"
"It was alright."
"It was awful!"
"Lucoa, how long have you been standing here?"
"I was waiting here for you guys to get back. I wanted to check up on you, see how it was working out between you two."
"That doesn't answer my question, but ok."
They entered Kobayashi's apartment. Kobayashi closed the door behind them. Kanna wasn't home yet. Elma put down her bags, took off her long skirt, and sighed.
"Ugh, finally home."
"Yeah, means I can finally do this!"
Tohru pushed hard on the ground, causing the two to fly up in the air and spin. When they landed, Tohru was on the top, and Elma was on the bottom. Tohru took off her shoes and socks.
"Huh? But- but I-"
"You remember our arrangement. I'm on top at home. Now move it! I have to make dinner."
About half an hour later…
Dinner was ready. Tohru was washing up. Kanna still wasn't home yet. Kobayashi was sitting at the table looking at her phone, and Lucoa was on the couch watching some cheesy game show.
"Alright, finally done."
"So, can we sit down now or something? I'm getting tired, I wanna relax!"
"Elma, you've been sitting down all day. Suck it up."
"Can we at least lay down on the couch or something? My arms are killing me."
"You're pretty weak, you know that? Ugh, fine. Get over there."
"Telma, be nice to each other. Just lay down already."
The two made their way to the couch and flopped on top of it. Lucoa turned the TV off and patted her thighs, signaling that she wanted them to sit there. Uh, ok. They crawled over to her and lay down on their backs, on top of her thighs. Lucoa put her arms under them and held them up like a large hot dog. She looked at Tohru, and then Elma.
"You two look adorable together, you know that?"
"HUH?"
"I mean it. Look at you two, working together, sleeping together, bathing together, basically doing everything together. It's so cool to watch!"
"What do you mean? We're not some crazy freak show circus act. We're trying to survive. Besides, aren't you supposed to be helping or something?"
"Yeah, Shota's got that covered. The book won't be available for a few days, so we might as well enjoy this while it lasts."
"Enjoy it? How? This is terrible! We have to hide everything, our arms are sore, and on top of all that, we completely hate each other!"
"I just find it funny that the Daughter of Cataclysm and her mortal enemy are being forced to work together. Bit ironic, isn't it? Good and evil, being forced to cooperate, spending their lives stuck as one…"
Lucoa's eyes opened, revealing her heterochromatic irises. Her tone of voice grew more tense. She started rambling on like she was crazy.
"Heaven and Hell, burning side by side! Eating each other alive! Ripping each other to shreds in such horrifying ways! An eternity of endless death and destruction! Both sides fighting a pointless, neverending battle whilst falling endlessly through the void, with no hope in sight! HAHAHAHAHA! *sigh* Really makes you feel good to be unaligned, am I right?"
Everyone stared at Lucoa nervously. They had never seen this side of her before. This woman is part of the Spectator faction? Sounds more like a Chaos dragon to me! What happened to her? Suddenly, the front door swung open.
"Do you really have two maids, now!?"
Oh god, it was Saikawa. Kanna had told her everything. Saikawa rushed over to the couch and nearly fell over from what she saw.
"Wh- wh- WHAT IS THAT THING!?"
"Saikawa, listen. I can explain."
"I-I-I gotta take a picture of this! I have to tell someone about-"
Lucoa tapped Saikawa's forehead. Immediately she fell to the floor, asleep.
"Kanna, where have you been? And why did you bring Saikawa here?"
"I-I-I'm sorry. I told her about what had happened, and she wanted to see for herself. I'm sorry."
"Kanna, you can't tell anyone about this, okay? Why did you decide to tell her anyway?"
"B-because I think it's really cool. Now I have two big sisters to teach me about the human world and be my friends. Lady Tohru, Elma, you're both really cool together. I'm sorry for telling Saikawa about you two. I'll bring her back home, now."
"No, Lucoa can take her home. Come on, put your stuff down. You guys hungry yet?"
Later…
They had finished dinner. It was ok, but at least it wasn't cold like last time. All the dishes were washed, and Tohru and Elma were taking their second bath together.
"Ugh, I can't wait for this to be over already!"
"Me neither. This is so tiring."
"So, that stuff that Lucoa said. what was that all about?"
"I dunno, but at least she seems to enjoy this somehow."
"I don't know how she could. In what way is this entertaining?"
"Well, you gotta admit, we do look a little funny."
"Hmph!"
"Oh, and Kanna really seems to like this, too. What was that she said? Something about enjoying having two big sisters, now?"
"Oh, that's your little dynamic, huh? You're her big sister?"
"Well, not biologically, no. But she does seem to really look up to me."
"Guess she'll be looking up to both of us, now. For better or for worse."
"Yeah, and I guess Lucoa really enjoys the idea of Harmony and Chaos working together for once. Maybe she thinks we make a good team?"
"That's impossible. Harmony and Chaos are complete opposites! There's absolutely no connection between us."
"Uh… you wanna check again?"
"I mean like, no friendly connection between us. We've been fighting for centuries, now. That doesn't just go away overnight!"
"Well, I wanna keep servicing Kobayashi. And I assume you wanna keep working. So I hate to say it, but we need to cooperate to accomplish our goals."
"W-well, yeah, I guess so. And look. We've already done so much together already. *sigh* look, we can't make the hatred between us go away like that. It's in our blood. So let's just agree to put it aside until this gets fixed, okay?"
"Spoken like a true Harmony dragon. Ok, sure."
The two shook hands.
"..."
"..."
"And no calling me fishface anymore, ok?"
"What? Why not? It's funny!"
"You heard me!"
There was a knocking on the bathroom door. It was Kobayashi.
"Yo, Telma! Hurry it up in there, I wanna go next."
They got out of the tub and dried themselves off. They left the bathroom. Tohru had her towel tied around her chest. Elma was wearing slippers, and had her towel tied around their waist so it hung down and covered her up properly.
"You two seem to be getting along better."
"I guess so."
"Glad to hear it. Now move, I gotta get in."
The two dragons went over to their room. They were just gonna have to suck it up together. After they get separated, they could bicker all they wanted.
Shota was still skimming through his books. He had already told his dad what had happened. His dad wasn't that mad. He was impressed that a lower level mage was able to pull off this type of spell, but he didn't have the reversal spell available. Shota would just have to wait for the book at the library.
"I'm back, Shota-baby!"
"Hey. So, how are they doing?"
"Oh, you know. Some bickering and all that, but they seem to be doing well. Classic Telma. Also, Saikawa came along and saw them, so I had to erase some of her memory."
"Oh, alright. Wait, Telma? Is that what you're calling them now?"
"Oh yeah. I heard Koby call them that name. I think it makes for a pretty good ship name."
"Ship name? You mean you ship them together?"
"Yeah. Have been for a while now."
"...You're pretty weird, Lucoa. You know that?"
"Oh, I know, Shota-baby. I know."
