Lexi led Skunk by the hand to one of the Zoomatrix Flying Bikes.
"It is very nice that you are taking me out for the shopping," said Skunk as she held Lexi's hand.
"Don't worry about it," she replied, "Since we're friends as well as comrades."
She turned to face Skunk as she added, "and I haven't forgotten. Just try not to apply the 'death grip' around my waist this time, 'kay?"
Skunk nodded.
Lexi got on the flying bike first, and then helped Skunk get behind her. They put on their helmets before Skunk pressed her visor into Lexi's back. She got a tight grip around Lexi's waist, but not as tight as the first time the two Loonatics flew together.
"All right," she said quietly, "Here we go... nice and easy."
The bike converted to flight mode and then moved out of the hangar bay ever so slowly. Lexi could feel Skunk trembling against her back.
As Lexi moved the bike out into the open skies above the city, she remembered her first time flying. She was a little freaked out herself back then, but it only took her one flight to get over it.
"I'm sure you'll enjoy a trip to the Acmetropolis Super Ultra Megamall," she said softly as she tilted her head back a bit.
She could feel Skunk's helmet move as she nodded.
"So just get as comfortable as you can," said Lexi, "This won't take very long."
Skunk nodded again.
Lexi made a slow sloping flight down towards the physical street below. Just before they touched down, she converted the bike back to street mode.
"Okay, mon cheri," said Lexi softly, "You can look now."
"Merci mon amour," she replied.
I took several miles of city driving before the Super Ultra Megamall came into view.
The amount of space available to rent in there was about 27.9 million square feet among it 7 levels (not counting 3 underground levels for parking and storage).
"You know," mused Lexi as she steered towards the underground parking entrance, "I know just the place to get something really hot to wear to bed."
"Why would you hide your beauty behind..."
"Oh, the fun isn't in wearing it," she purred, "but in the removal of said garments."
"Ah je comprends," she mused, "It is the foreplay, no?"
"Oh yes," she replied, "and maybe something a little kinky for Ace, eh?"
"AH! That would be very nice!" replied Skunk as she took off her helmet.
"Very nice indeed," said Lexi as she removed her own helmet.
Dismounting the bike, they locked their helmets to the back before they set off for the mall elevators.
"The first stop will be the Bluenose Confidential Store," she said as she took Skunk's hand in her own.
"That is so expensive," she protested.
"Don't worry," she chuckled, "It's not like Zadavia doesn't give me a line of credit for... various expenses."
She paused to look back.
"Besides, you need some street clothes to..."
"Help with the undercover missions?" offered Skunk.
"Yeah," she replied with a somewhat wicked grin, "Undercover work..."
"Your generosity knows no bounds," she said as she leaned ahead and gave Lexi a wet kiss on her cheek with an audible "Mwahhh..."
"Oh go on," said Lexi as she dragged Skunk into the first open elevator. She pushed the button for the fifth floor before the door closed. Skunk noted they were on BL1 (Basement Level 1). It only took seconds to reach the destined floor.
Skunk gawked at all the open area in the main passages of the mall. It had amusement rides, small park areas and even large fountains all along the way. There was also vending carts and small restaurants lining the pathway as well.
Some stores were small, but the end cap stores were huge and had several levels to them.
She suddenly stopped before Le Grand Magasin de Bretzels.
"Why don't we get a snack first," she mused as she looked back.
The way Skunk looked at the giant soft pretzels was all she needed to know.
Towing her to the counter, the attendant came to the front.
"What would you like?" he asked as he looked the two ladies over.
"Number 3 Combo," she replied, "Heavy salt. Diet Grapefruit Soda."
"And you, madam?" he asked as he glanced towards Skunk.
"Je voudrais un bretzel avec du sel supplémentaire et du beurre épais. (I would like a pretzel with extra salt and heavy butter)"
"Bien sûr, ma dame, (Of course, my lady)" he replied.
Skunk smiled as he started on their order.
Lexi used one of her Loonatics Debit Cards to pay for the order, and then they retreated to a nearby table to take seats and wait.
"You know," she said, "I didn't know how much I loved you until your fumes took my memories away. I think the same thing happened with Ace."
"I am sorry..."
"Don't be sorry," admonished Lexi as she placed on hand on Skunk's knee, "You panicked and made a rookie mistake. Learn and move on."
"Thank you," she replied as she placed a hand behind Lexi's head and leaned in as she pulled her into a kiss on the lips.
Lexi suddenly jerked her head back.
"Is something wrong?" asked Skunk as she pouted.
"Something's going on down at the Ultra-Expensive Jewelry Boutique! I think it's getting robbed!"
"We should handle this," mused Skunk.
"Yeah, let's show the boys some GIRL POWER!" said Lexi as she thrust her clenched fist in the air, "Let's jet!"
The two of them jumped to their feet as they took off in the direction Lexi heard the noise.

Meanwhile...
...
"Oh no," said the informed bystander, "Stoney and Mugsy are robbing the Ultra-Expensive Jewelry Boutique!"
"Thanks for dah exposition, informed bystander," muttered Stoney, "Now shut up!"
Yes, two men were robbing the Ultra-Expensive Jewelry Boutique. One looked like a stupid mountain of muscle, and the other looked like a small hill of mean with a side of handgun.
"Now Stoney, be a good stooge and collect up all da jewelries."
"But what about the glass cases, Boss?"
"Smash it, of course," he grumbled, "Use you head!"
So of course Mugsy used his head to smash the jewelry cases and start collecting the valuables.
"That's not what..." muttered Mugsy, "Ah, the heck with it. Whatever woiks."
He waited patiently as the bag was filled.
"Now who is gonna clean up this mess?"
Bugsy turned to see two costumed females in the doorway to the jewelry store.
"So it's the Loonatics, eh?" he asked, "You two dames is gonna stop me?!"
"Two dames... ladies are all we need!" she replied. "Skunk," she said as she turned her head, "Take care of tall, strong and gruesome over there!" Glancing back at Mugsy, she said, "I'll take care of short, mean and armed!"
"Consider it done!" she purred as she stepped towards Mugsy.
Mugsy dropped the bag of stolen loot as he shouted, "Bunny wabbit!"
Skunk paused as her mind boggled.
By then, Mugsy had grabbed her and applied a bear hug. "I'm gonna love her and pet her and squeeze her and call her George."
Lexi tried to Brain Blast Stoney, but only managed to knock him back when she blasted the ground at his feet instead.
"Excusez-moi, gentil monsieur, mais je suis une moufette puante, (Excuse me, kind sir, but I am a smelly Skunk)" said Skunk.
"What'd the bunny say there, Boss?" asked Mugsy eagerly.
"Shaddup!" replied the Boss as he pried himself from the cheap plasterboard wall, "Does I like look I speaks Yiddish to youse?!"
Lexi facepalmed herself loudly. "Aren't those ears kinda short for a rabbit?" she asked.
"It's a Jersey Wooly Rabbit!" he said as he roughly rubbed Skunk's head.
Lexi facepalmed herself louder.
"You there!" said Stoney as he pointed the gun at Lexi's head, "Gets on the floor with yur hands behind yur head afore I ventilates it!"
"Ne me mets pas en colère! (Do not make me angry!)" swore Skunk.
Lexi got down on the floor as she put her hands behind her head. "Just promise me you won't hurt Skunk," she said as she looked down.
"Okays rabbit," he said as he moved closer, "But it curtains for you, see?"
"NO!" screamed Skunk as she released tens of thousands of volts into Mugsy, the current arcing its way down into the floor after going through his body.
"I can'ts let you get away wid dat!" he said as the gun spun towards Skunk's head.
Skunk headbutt Mugsy before she unleashed both knees into his crotch. Once he was stunned, she broke loose and jumped for Stoney.
He fired his gun several times into her as she landed on top of him.
"NO! SKUNK!" yelled Lexi.
"I... can't... let... you... hurt... mon amour... de lapin..." she said as she repeatedly punched Mugsy in the jaw with both hands. It was enough to knock him well into tomorrow.
Lexi rushed to Skunk's side. She was bleeding from the multiple hits she took.
"I can't loose you again!" she cried as she hugged Skunk tightly.
"Do not worry, mon amour," replied Skunk softly, "I think none of the bullets... pierced my ballistic sub-dermal armor... My skin is mainly for show, and giving me a sense of touch."
"I promise you'll be fixed as good as new."
"Still, it does hurt..." she replied.
Lexi didn't care that Skunk's blood was getting on her.
"The Mall Police and the Mall Paramedics will be here soon!" called a woman from the back.
