Deja Vu

Taylor screamed as she found herself back at the front of the school. She earned a few looks, but not caring at all, she lifted her shirt to see if there was blood on it. No blood... strange... She had on the same outfit too, a grey jacket, a purple shirt, some black jeans, and purple flats... really strange... she looked around panic fully. what was going on?

Just then, Chad came from behind her. "Hey-"

"Chad!" Taylor interrupted. She felt his neck with her index finger. "Are you ok?"

"I'm confused." Chad answered, swatting her hand away from his neck. "I know it's going to sound weird, but the exact thing that happened yesterday happened today."

"Deja vu." Taylor said calmly.

Chad tilted his head. "Deja who?"

"Deja vu." Taylor repeated. "It's when you feel like something already happened to you because you feel like you've seen it before." She fixed herself. "That's all that's happening Chad."

Chad took a breath. "Are you sure?"

"Yes." Taylor replied. "That is the only logical explanation here." She turned to the door. "It's about time we get to class, let's go." The both rushed inside and went to class.

When they walked in, Miss. Darbus was, again, balancing a broom on her hand. Chad pointed and looked at Taylor. "Hey wasn't she doing that-"

"-Yeah..." Taylor answered, starting to get a little freaked out. She took her seat behind Chad's.

"Ok class, today I want to talk to you about a surprise!" Miss. D started.

Chad groaned. "Another one?" Everyone in the room looked at him like he was an alien from a different planet.

"What Mr. Danforth?" Miss. D sighed.

"You already told us the surprise." Chad said. Taylor tugged at his hoodie trying to get him to hush, but he didn't take the hint. "Yesterday, you said that we'll be doing a musical about ourselves called 'The Status Quo', we all have to perform in it because it's for a grade."

"Miss. Darbus didn't say that shithead." Sharpay announced.

Chad glared at her. "If I'm the shithead, you're the asshole."

"Children!" Miss. Darbus interrupted. "Language! If I wasn't interested in the drama, I would give you two detention." She cleared her throat and looked at Chad. "How'd you know I was going to say that?"

Chad's eyes widened. "You... you didn't say it yesterday?" He looked at everyone in the classroom. "She didn't say it yesterday?"

Everybody shook their heads, confused at Chad's behavior. Taylor on the other hand was equally confused. How could she be having the same Deja vu as Chad? "Chad..." Martha Cox started as Chad looked freaked out. "Are you... are you high?"

Everyone raised their eyebrows at him. "No!" Chad yelled. "I don't smoke! I'm a minor!"

"Maybe you should see a nurse?" Miss. Darbus said.

"I'm fine!" Chad crossed his arms.

Taylor looked at him with worried filled eyes. What was going on? What would have happened if she said anything? Would everyone think she was high? Good thing she's good at keeping quiet.

When class was over, Taylor found Chad in the hallway. "Hey, are you ok?" She asked him.

"No!" Chad replied. "I'm losing my fucking mind!" He shook his head. "This is the worst and weirdest case of Deja vu I ever had! What's wrong with me man?"

"I don't know." Taylor patted his back. "We'll meet in third hour in Mr. Levy's class."

They said goodbye again and Taylor made her way to class. After what seemed like forever, it was over. As Taylor made her way down the hall to go find Chad in Mr. Levy's class, she saw Ryan and Zeke holding hands again. "Hey guys! How was the anniversary?"

Ryan smiled widely. "You remembered today is our three week anniversary?"

Taylor tilted her head. "Wasn't it... yesterday..."

"Yesterday was our anniversary eve." Zeke said as he smiled at Ryan. "Apparently that's a thing."

"It is!" Ryan defended with a laugh.

Taylor laughed too. "I got to get to class, sorry I forgot! I'll bring you guys something tomorrow!" She waved goodbye and ran to class. When she got in, Chad was sitting at their desk holding that basketball that he always carried around. "Hey Chad."

"Hey!" Chad said. "While I was in History, I had an idea."

Taylor sat down next to him. "Yeah?"

"What if instead of paying attention in History class, we could use Warpy to go to any time period? Wouldn't that be way easier than doing our homework and stuff?"

"Now you like Warpy." Taylor joked as she took the machine out her backpack. It looked worn out and broken. "What the he-... heck?"

Chad examined in. "What happened to the poor guy?"

"I don't know." She took out her notebook. "Maybe it got damaged in my b-"

"-We're calling it Levytation!" Daisy exclaimed.

Chad and Taylor turned and looked at her at the same time, then back at each other. "Oh my gosh Chad..." Taylor said as she started to put two and two together. "Warpy... Warpy works!"

Chad raised an eyebrow at her. "What?"

"Think about it!" Taylor showed him Warpy and her notes. "This is all making since now! The last thing I remember yesterday... or today... or... tomorrow? I don't know, but anyways, I pulled to lever on Warpy right after..."

"After what?" Chad asked.

"You don't remember?" Taylor asked him.

"I remember passing out after a harsh cut to the neck- oh." Chad whispered as he understood. "Yesterday, earlier, sooner, whatever it is... did we, are we... gosh how do I word this?" He sighed. "Do we get murdered?"

"I think so..." Taylor replied gloomily.

Just then, the intercom came on. "Attention students, please make your way down to the basement of East High in a orderly fashion." Principal Matsui said. "There is an emergency, and this is not a drill. Teachers, please gather your students and go to the basement, this is not a drill."

Chad and Taylor exchanged a glance as the walked out the classroom. "This way..." Chad told Taylor as they went to their shortcut place. "Remember, shortcut."

Taylor nodded as the grilled cheese sandwich smell filled her nose. "Yeah, I remember."

"So, Warpy works..." Chad said. "Well how bout that."

"I know, right?" Taylor smiled. "Imagine what we could accomplish now! Anything is possible!"

Chad laughed. "Slow your role Jordan. We haven't even graduated high school yet."

Taylor stood up tall and tilted her head at him. "When I finish Warpy, I might be able to graduate early."

Chad shook his head at her, still smiling. "You are so-"

Taylor remembered him saying that before... oh no. "Chad watch out!" She screamed.

Chad turned and saw the figure behind him. "Oh shit!" The figure tried to get Chad, but he grabbed Taylor by the arm and took off running. The figure chased them, and he was equally as fast. Chad tripped over something, falling over roughly. "Oof!"

"Chad hurry!" Taylor cried as she tried to help him up.

She was too late. The murderer grabbed her and stabbed Chad in the throat. Taylor screamed as the murderer stabbed her in the chest. She fell to the ground, next to Chad's body, and felt herself dying again.

She saw the murderer with blurry vision... as she died, the murderer watched. He seemed to be enjoying it. He's sick. Taylor closed her eyes, hoping all of this was a dream. A nightmare actually.

To be continued...
