CHAPTER 5
She did suddenly remember one thing the man said.
"she says she wants to be a changed person now "he said during their conversation
That hit Sheena, did she give up on the relation, when she exactly shouldn't have?she wanted to bring the good side of pelina. She was into this, knowing all the rumours. Then why back now? Why leave a woman, who wants to get out if this shit?
Can she play a hero? Is she upto face a man, who might even knock on the hostel door if she finds back pelina into her life.
She decided to wait and watch.
She has been observant of Pelina. Pelina still comes to college, but she appreared to be sad, just like Sheena felt. Pelina couldn't look into Sheenas eyes even if they met by chance at the college.
Pelinas routine was simpler than before. She came straight to hostel and entered staff quarters every day. This pretty much made sheena believe that, she didn't go back to the man. She was not sure but it pretty much assured her, and looking back at herself, she was dying inside too. She liked this woman for some reason. They had an age gap of nearly 8 years .
Was it the attraction to an older woman? this was the first time , she has been attracted to someone so different from her age.
It was always her classmates or seniors when she was at school. Then she sometimes felt weird of her female choices and thought she need a boy friend. While she was in her +2, she did make some attempts and there were one or two boys in her life, with whom she was interacting, but it didn't ring a bell or pull a string for her. She thought, she was putting up a show to feel like normal and this was not her normal at all.
She then got into her bachelors and did pretty much well with some of her juniors, classmates, seniors and Alisha offcourse, while entering into the final year, Pelina came into her life and made it look different.
She looked at Sheena as if, Sheena was Pelinas teacher. She enjoyed all the bumpy crumpy stories Sheena used to tell her. They started speaking for hours over the phone and exchanged touches, which made shivers run down each others spines. Sheena had this experience, once or twice with her other relations. But for Pelina, it was the first time. And above all, both of them were Christians, and Sheena talked so much about spirituality which made Pelina feel guilty about her prostitution with the man. But she didn't have courage to loose Sheena at this point and hence, wanted to hide about her recent relationship.
Sheena decided to give it a go after their brekup for about one week.
She met Pelina, and asked how she was holding up. Both of them wanted to get together, with what they are hearing from each other, but pelina spoke clearly.
"I love you. I want us to be back with each other. But I know you are scared. I know, you are troubled thinking the man from my life would ruin you. But it won't happen like that. I can protect you. It wont even come to that. He cant drag me into his bed. He knows it. He tried to break us, thinking I would return to him. But now he knows I made up my mind.I told him, its over between him and me. It was a mistake . I got separated from my alcoholic husband and I instantly got into this attraction and wanted a good life with a stable man in my life. Right at that time, this was the only thing I could give him to stay , and it was my body. So, he behaved like a husband, taking care and I behaved like a prostitute with a stable man. But, now, I feel I have left that dirty skin and entered a new skin.
She added - Whether you come back into my life or not is your choice, but even if it is "no", from you. My relationship with him ended. Iam not going back to him and rather live a lone life.
iam doing this for you. So, that you never regret on me and all the preaching you gave me. They did affect me so much.i was born into a Christian family and inspite of knowing all this, I choose this past life. But being with you, your love changed me for good. Iam content and want more of you".
Sheena – sighed!
Sheena – iam glad you decided not to go back. Lets continue a see what life holds for us. I missed you.
She feel right into Pelinas arms. The age gap between them was always relevant and Sheena didn't know what relation she wanted from this. They have never been physical . not when the rumors are around wide in the hostel and college. she wants to see, how this goes. But the man was still far in her haunting dreams sometimes. But now, she is happy , she has her love back.
