(NOTE:I KNOW YOU GUYS ARE WAITING ON AN UPDATE TO BEND-FORE,DON'T WORRY IT'S COMING,I JUST FELT LIKE DOING THIS INSTEAD.
AT ANY RATE,GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,AND THIS IS THE AGENT OF LITERATURE SIGNING ON.)
And welcome back to my DCEU rewrite series,Year Three Part Two.
Last time we left off with the tv shows of year three, now it's time for the movies, and we're getting into the nitty gritty rewrites,as we start off with…
*BATMAN V SUPERMAN:DAWN OF JUSTICE(or just Batman V Superman or just Dawn of Justice, either way,it's this movie.)
I think we can pretty much all agree that DC and Warner Bros, jump the shark with this movie,it's almost the equivalent of doing Iron man first, then skipping ahead to Captain America Civil war,a few key steps have to be taken, but I think this movie could've worked had they done a stand alone Batman movie, showing the events of Man of Steel through Bruce's eyes.
Like a lot of of people,I didn't like it,it was to dark, confusing,I didn't like the fact that Batman killed, and they killed Superman WAY TO EARLY,that's like killing Tony Stark in his cameo of The incredible Hulk,we get a lot of time to Henry Cavill's Superman, and thanks to the recent announcement of JJ abrams and Coates taking over,we probably never will.
I understand that this was Zack's plan, even if it wasn't perfect,it was still a plan, but killing Superman is something you need to build up to,and this was just done for shock value.
And ok,I know that in some versions Batman does kill, but in most of those versions,he did it because he either had no choice or because it was the only way, here,he kills just because he can, there's a reason why we prefer a no killing Batman,it gives us someone to look up to,and considering the hate Batman has been getting in certain media lately(cough batwoman cough)The Dark Knight needs some love right now,so in this version,Batman won't kill, but he'll come real close.
So I'm gonna make three big changes to this rewrite…
1)Superman will not die:As said before,Superman dying in the second movie is like killing off Tony Stark in the Incredible Hulk,it just won't have the same wait,Superman will die in this series, but it will be done later on.
2)The final fight needs to be between Batman and Superman:THE MOVIE IS CALLED "BATMAN V SUPERMAN",NOT "BATMAN HAS A ONE SIDED FIGHT WITH SUPERMAN,LEARNS THEIR MOTHERS HAVE THE SAME NAME THUS BECOMING FRIENDS,AND THEN FIGHT DOOMSDAY WITH WONDER WOMAN".
The focus needs to be on Batman and Superman, their feud,so no Doomsday, and sadly no Wonder woman(more on her later),plus the titular fight was as said, one sided,so it not only is a let down(the animated Dark Knight Returns movie did their fight better)but then we shift focus on Doomsday, that's(again using the MCU as an example)like having Cap and Bucky fight Iron man,and then turning around and having the three fight Abomination,it just loses all meaning.
So the climax will be between The Caped Crusader and The Last son of Krypton.
And Finally,3)Everyone's motives need to make sense:I'm not gonna lie,I can the reason Batman and Superman wanting to fight each other,Batman wants to fight Superman, because he saw the destruction that Superman left in his wake, and knows that if the day ever comes where Superman turns on humanity, they're pretty much done,as he said "If there's even a 1% chance he is our enemy we need to take it as an absolute certainty.",but going so far as to kill him seems to be stretching a bit.
As for Superman,he sees the effects Batman's brutality is having on the people of Gotham,he's killing people, branding them, nearly beating them to death,he's more the punisher than Batman at this point,Batman has become more of a terrorist then a vigilante at this point, but here's the thing, this is the same guy who nearly leveled Metropolis off the map and has shown no remorse for his actions and he wants to stop Batman from doing the very thing he is,it's a bit hypocritical, but again I can see the reasons,it's the execution that's the problem.
And then there's Lex,who doesn't really have a motive to be honest,at this point I think he's just doing it because he thinks it be cool or something,he says he hates Superman because God didn't save him from his abusive father or something, and Lex knowing the identities of our heroes,is just weird.
So before I begin,I'm going to give you the motives of the characters real quick..
Superman:While he's still doing hero work, reaction to him is still pretty mixed, and with the people of Metropolis still recovering from the fight against Zod and 100s of people having lost their lives, people don't know if they can trust him,but the people are just as scared of Batman, who has taking things a bit to far with his war on crime, that even the GCPD refuse to work with him,so Superman will bring him into hopefully earn the people's trust.
Batman:Bat's will claim that he wishes to eliminate Superman because he sees him as a threat to humanity, but instead it will be because he blames him for the death of Jason Todd,as he was unable to get of Metropolis to get to Robing before the Joker killed him,in reality,it's actually because Bruce blames himself for failing Jason's but he puts all his guilt on Superman to hide this.
Lex:Lex will claim that he hates Superman because of the death of his father, but in reality,Lex wants Superman out of the way,so that he can begin his secret criminal life without interference from the man of steel, but he knows he can't kill him,but if he can get the Bat to do so,that's two birds and one stone he won't have to worry about.
And that's it,Superman wants to earn the trust of the people,Batman wants to hide his guilt over the lost of Jason, and Lex just wants the heroes out of the way, simple and easy to follow,I also want to say that some of this rewrite will take some inspiration from "Fix the flicks rewrite and a little of Phoenix studios rewrite(even though he just started),but I'm gonna try to make this my own as much as I can,so without further ado,I give my rewrite of Batman v Superman.
ACT ONE
We open the movie with the funeral of Jason todd,as Bruce,Alfred,Dick Grayson,Commissioner Gordon,Barbara Gordon, and even some small cameos, like Luke Fox(who also just buried his Father)and Selina Kyle might there as the rain pours down.
We hear news reports about the "Superman"as Bruce watches his son get buried,we then audio and archive footage of Jason's death,as we hear Jason tell Bruce to not let him live,to kill him,but while in that scene he was talking about Joker,in Bruce''s mind,he means Superman.
We then cut to One year later(because 18 months is weird number to have a timeskip),as we see a few astronauts boarding an experimental rocket, they prepare for lift off when suddenly something goes wrong,as it explodes and sends the top flying and it nearly hits the ground, when it is suddenly caught,we then have that scene of Superman holding the rocket in the montage of him doing heroic actions,he sets the rocket down,as he checks on the people inside, after doing so,he flies off.
We'll cut to the human trafficking scene where the cops find the branded criminal, however,we'll first see Batman questioning the criminal about the "White portuguese",we then have his encounter with the cops and he leaves, they briefly try to give chase, but Batman gets away.
(It's revealed that due to Batman's growing brutality on criminals, even branding him,has caused Gordon to cut ties with him and issues a warrant for his arrest, making Batman a wanted criminal in the eyes of the Police yet again.)
Bruce returns to the batcave and tells Alfread that he believes the White portuguese has a weapon that can kill Superman, and he intends to steal it.
We'll then combine the "Turns good men" and the "1% chance" conversation between Bruce and Alfred,it goes something like this…
Alfred:You're going to go to war?
Bruce:That man brought the war to us one year ago,I mean count the dead Alfred, thousands,I mean what's next, millions?
He has the power to wipe out the entire human race and if there is even a 1% chance he is our enemy we have to take as an absolute certainty, and we have to destroy him.
Alfred:But that's how it starts, the fever, the rage, the feeling of powerlessness, that turns good men, cruel, and you are starting to walk that thin line Mister Wayne,Master Todd's death was not your fault.
Bruce:You're right,it was his.
We then cut to the daily planet, where Clark is writing about the space shuttle crash, when Jimmy Olson comes in talking about Batman and how he took down another criminal,Clark takes the paper Jimmy is holding and sees the picture of the criminal that Batman branded.
When Jimmy says that he's heard that criminals that are branded are pretty much sentenced to death,Clark immediately takes this to Perry and requests to cover the Bat story.
However,Perry says no,stating that Batman is taking down dangerous criminals, and if they get killed in the process who's gonna care.
But Clark wants to do the story, stating that Batman is abusing people's constitutional rights and that he's trampling on people's civil liberties, but Perry points out that some of those people are criminals who committed horrific crimes, and deserve what they get,he then tells Clark to drop the story, and asks him to cover Lex Luthor's birthday party.
Later,Clark is talking to Lois,he tells her that he believes batman to be dangerous, and that it's only a matter of time before he takes a life himself,Lois asks Clark what he intends to do,Clarks says nothing, because Clark kent can't do anything, but maybe Superman can.
We then cut to Lex's party, like in the original movie, where Clark and Jimmy are covering it,Clark then sees Bruce in attendance, and of course we get that scene from the original movie.
We then meet Lex,who instead of giving a wacky speech,he instead keeps a calm demitor and thanks everyone for coming to his party,he then says how he wishes his father could be here, but that he will continue to uphold his family's legacy.
Meanwhile,Brue sneaks away and begins to download Lex files on the hard drive,he then notices a woman watching him(Diana),but before he can say anything to her,she vanishes,Bruce then retrieves his hard drive then leaves the party.
He returns home and begins decrypting the files,he then has a dream, however, instead of it being the Knightmare dream,we see Bruce as a child, with his parents(yes we're putting that in,but something akin to the scene from Batman(89),as Bruce and his parents are walking down an alleyway,Superman then appears before them and uses his heat vision to kill Thomas and Martha,he then looks at Bruce(who is now a grown adult)and uses his heat vision on him,Bruce then wakes up,with the file now decrypted,he discovers that the White Portuguese will port in Gotham tonight.
We then have the Batmobile chase(minus all the killing of course)and then Batman and Superman have their first official encounter.
Phoenix studios actually had a pretty good encounter between that I would like to use here…
So after Superman stops the batmobile and tears off the hood,he uses his X-ray vision and sees Bruce wayne.
Superman:Bruce Wayne?
Batman:You peeked.
Superman:Bit of advice, next time they shine your light in the sky, don't go to it,the Bat is dead, bury it,consider this mercy.
Batman:Tell me,do you bleed?
Superman flies off.
Batman:You will.
Batman then returns to the batcave and sees that the tracker he placed on the truck is still intact.
(something I think would be a cool thing to explore would be Bruce's Psyche,as we see them tempt the line between taking a life or not,and I think we can do that by having personifications of both his moral code, which is represented by Bruce's father Thomas and the temptation of killing represented by Jason.)
We see that the cargo that was loaded at the docks,is at one of Lex Luthor's storage facilities,as Thomas tries to tell Bruce to let this go,that Superman is not a menace or threat, but Jason informs Bruce that it's only a matter of time before Superman decides to turn on humanity, and that they need to eliminate him now.
Thomas tries to tell Bruce that Superman has shown nothing but remorse for the lives that were lost during the battle of Metropolis, and that Bruce is the one who's about to cross the line.
Jason then reminds Bruce of the last time he didn't take action.
Bruce then plays a recording of Jason telling him to kill him,but even though Jason was talking about the Joker,in Bruce's mind,he's talking about Superman.
We later see Batman invade the facility and retrieve the weapon, which he is surprised to discover is green rock.
We then cut to Clark returning home, only to find a newspaper article that says,"Who is Superman?",with a batarang embedded in it,Clarks cellphone then rings and he sees it's an unknown number.
He answers it and Batman's voice is heard on the other side..
Batman:Now I know your secret.
He hangs up.
Clark:Touche.
Clark then squeezes his cellphone, breaking it.
ACT TWO
We later cut back to the Lex facility,as Lex overlooks the damage done by Batman in procuring the kryptonite,he berates his security guards for losing the artifact and tells them to leave.
He then tells his assistant Mercy Graves to compensate the guards for a job well done.
This confuses Mercy at first, which Lex notices,he goes on to explain that during the battle of Metropolis,Batman was reported being stuck in the middle of Superman and Zods fight, and at the same time,Batman's sidekick Robin was killed by the Joker.
Then Lex mentions how he's discovered Batman's little secret(hinting that he knows Bruce is Batman)and knows for sure that he wants Superman dead,so he allowed Batman to steal the artifact, knowing full well that he intends to use it on the man of steel.
He reveals that he doesn't hate Superman for the death of his father,he let his father fall to his death during the battle of Metropolis,so he is more thankful for Superman then hateful.
But he sees Superman as an obstacle in his way that must be removed, and he knows that he can't do anything about it,but maybe Batman can.
We later see Clark and Jimmy Olson in Gotham,as they try interviewing people who've had run-ins with the Batman.
Clark tries to talk to the Gordons, but neither one wishes to talk to him.
He then talks to the wife of the criminal Batman took down at the beginning of the movie, and she claims that someone paid her husband to be at that house and tell Batman what he wanted to know about the White Portuguese, the wife then receives a call from the prison that her husband has been killed, due to the bat brand on him.
Suddenly,Clark hears guns cocking outside and he forces the wife and Jimmy to the floor as shots start ringing out,a couple shots bounce off Clarks back, which Jimmy notices.
Clark tells Jimmy to call 911,as he tries sneaking out the back.
He makes quick work of each of the criminals and subdues them all,he tries talking to the only one that is still alive, but the criminal just bites down on a tablet and dies.
After the police arrest the other criminals, who each have a missing tooth,as Clark removed the tablets inside while they were unconscious,Clark tries talking to the wife,to see if she knows who's behind this, but she does not commit and simply leaves with the police,Jimmy then talks to Clark about the bullets bouncing off him,but Clark tries to play it off, saying he was just wearing a bulletproof vest, but Jimmy does not fall for it and asked Clark to see it.
Clark at first tries again to play coy,but when he sees that Jimmy isn't budging,he relents and briefly shows Jimmy the 'S' shield, revealing himself as Superman.
Jimmy states how he pretty much knew it,with how much Clark is always absent from work,he then promises that he'll keep Clark's secret and asks if anyone else knows,Clark states that only his Mother and Lois know,oh and Bruce wayne,Clark then hears people in danger and sets off to help them.
We then have that montage from the movie of Superman helping people(such as the fire in Mexico, dragging the ship across the ice,but minus the space shuttle as that was at the beginning of the film)with people talking about whether they can trust Superman.
Some people have shown their support, such as people he's saved, maybe show a cameo from Barry Allen, possibly appearance from Superman:TAS like Maggie sawyer or Dan Turpin, even Swanwick puts his two cents in.
However, other people are not as open about, some bring up points about the battle of Metropolis and the damage that came with it,one person even brings up the incident in Smallville, people like Oliver queen can show their concern about him, people who lost loved ones due to Superman's actions, and of course Lex chimes in with his mistrust of Superman, once again bringing up his father's death.
We then show Clark watching some of these interviews, and he actually wonders if he's doing more harm then good,he later goes to visit his father at the fortress,to see if he should step away from the limelight, but Jor-el reminds Clark that he will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards, and to not give up on his destiny.
However, when Clark visits his mother,he tells her he doesn't know if he can live up to Jor-el's expectations and fulfill his so called destiny,Martha tells Clark that he should not live to any expectation, that he should do what he feels is right and comes natural, that he doesn't own this world a thing, and he never did(there's no "People hate what they don't understand",or giving Clark mixed signals about what he should do,instead, she says what mothers usually say and tells him to do what he feels is right, that the choice is his).
Later,Lex is meeting with some of his agents, who inform him that the wife still lives, this is a problem,as he knows that with her still alive, she could reveal everything,he then decides to tackle two birds with one stone and give Superman some incentive.
He then meets with a man named Thomas Blake, and shows him something hidden under a sheet.
Later we see the woman and her children at a safe house, where the cops protecting her are suddenly killed, she hides her children and tries to lead the killer away, only to be met by "Batman".
The next day, news reports talk about how "Batman" killed four police officers as well as the woman and her family,Clark sees this and decides enough is enough and sets off for the capitol.
He appears before congress and explains that he has lived on their world for a long time, and while he knows that people don't trust him,he at least wants to put the people's minds at ease and declares his intention to bring in...The Batman.
Bruce sees this on TV,and goes into prep mode,as he trains his body, builds the bat armor suit, and creates weapons from the Kryptonite.
He tells Alfred that he needs to finish this once and for all, that he's saving humanity from Superman, and that he'll avenge Jason.
Alfred tries to talk him out of it,but Bruce will not budge, leading Alfred to say the line.."So falls, the house of Wayne."
Clark meets with Lois and Jimmy, and explains that he doesn't believe that Batman is responsible,he thinks Lex is,but he needs proof, but he has to keep his word and go after Batman.
Lois says that she and Jimmy will get the proof Clark needs,Clark then goes to face Batman.
ACT THREE
We then cut to crime alley,as Batman (who is wearing his bat armor)activates the bat signal to lure Superman there,Superman soon arrives.
Batman:Well,here I am.
Superman:Bruce,we don't have to do this.
Batman:Sure we do.
Batman then activates two sonic cannons that begin to distort Superman's hearing,Batman then runs in and begins beating Superman,Superman manages to block on one Batman's punches and then pushes his back,he then uses his heat vision to destroy the sonic cannons.
Superman:Bruce,listen to me,I know you're innocent,it's Luthor who's behind this.
Jason(ghost):He's lying,he's trying to make you drop your guard.
Batman:I know.
Batman then throws a grenade towards Superman, that begins to release green gas,but Superman moves out of the way before he can breath any of it in.
He then flies forward and smashes Batman into a building,as they land into a bathroom.
Superman:Fine,if you won't listen to me,I'll have to knock some sense into you.
Superman then picks Batman up and throws him through some stalls,as he makes his way over to him,Batman crushes some small green pellets in his hand,he then turns around and throws the powder in Supermans face, making Superman inhale the kryptonite, while he is slightly weakened,Superman stills manages to catch a kick from Batman and throws him through a wall.
Batman quickly gets up and grabs a sink and then smashes it on Superman's head while he's distracted,he then kicks him in the face and begins to repeatedly punch Superman in the face,Superman grabs Batman's mask and using both feet, pushes Batman off of him, pulling the helmet off in the process.
As Superman stands up he prepares to charge towards Batman, who grabs a grenade launcher and fires a smoke bomb at Superman, making it erupt in green smoke,Superman inhales more of it and becomes weaken all the more,Batman then drags Superman to a ledge and throws him over to the ground below,he then drags him towards a kryptonite spear and he prepares to kill Superman.
Batman:Your gonna pay for all the lives you took, you deserve to die.
Jason(ghost):Yes,do it,avenge me Bruce,avenge me.
Batman:There's no other way,I have to do this, for them, for him.
Batman deals with his turmoil,he's never taken a life before, and he truly thinks this will make things right,as Jason's ghost eggs him on,Thomas Wayne stands in silence in disappointment in his son, suddenly,Batman hears this…
Superman:Your right.
Batman looks down in shock,he sees Superman crying.
Superman:The world fears me,I'm supposed to be a beacon of hope, but instead I've caused people to be afraid,I brought death and destruction to this world,I deserve to die,so do it,kill me.
But do me one favor.
Batman stares at Superman in bewilderment,as Jason continues to him to just end it.
Superman:After you kill me,promise you'll never kill again, promise you'll never let this consume you,you used to be a symbol of hope for Gotham once, you can be again Bruce, you can still come back, take care of humanity, they need a hero they can trust.
Superman then bows his head waiting for the final blow, but Batman just stares at him, completely thrown off by this use of words,he doesn't know how to respond,Jason begins egging him on again.
Jason(ghost):Well, what are you waiting for, kill him, kill him now before it's too late.
Thomas(ghost):Bruce.
Bruce looks at his father.
Thomas(ghost):What happened to Jason wasn't his fault,and it wasn't yours either,it was Joker's,don't do this,let it go.
Jason(ghost):Don't listen to him,he's a monster,he killed thousands of people,we can't let him live.
Batman just looks at Superman,he then looks at a reflection of himself and sees what he's become, the very thing he swore to destroy.
Jason(ghost):Kill him.
Bruce shakes his head.
Jason(ghost):Kill Him.
Bruce:No.
Jason(ghost):KILL HIM!
Bruce:NOO!
Bruce then swings the spear making the ghost of Jason Todd vanish and throws the spear away,as Bruce begins to breath slowly,he looks at the ghost of his father and then sees his mother, bother smile and nod their heads in approval, they vanish as well.
Batman then walks up to Superman and stretches out his hand,Superman grabs it and pulls himself up.
Superman:What made you change your mind?
Batman:I saw what I'd become,I'm sorry.
Superman:Don't be,I kind of felt the same way about you that you did me.
Batman:Guess that makes us have more in common than we thought.
Superman:Guess it does.
Suddenly,Batman gets a call from Alfred.
Alfred:Master Wayne.
Batman:Alfred?
Alfred:Sorry to interrupt sir,but it appears Miss Lane and Mister Olson are in trouble sir.
Batman:Where are they?
Alfred:One of Luthor's warehouses down at the docks, appears the "other"Batman and some bad men have them captive sir.
Batman:I'll take care of it,prep the batwing.
Alfred:Sir.
Superman tries to get Batman to let him deal with it,but Batman points out that Superman still has some kryptonite in his system and to let him do this,he needs to pay a visit to Luthor.
After we get our warehouse fight scene(which was one of the only cool fight scenes in the movie),Superman goes to visit Luthor, who is currently in his office,Lex notices him pretty quickly,he tells Mercy, who's with him,to leave.
Lex:I take it Batman is still around?
Superman:I'll take you in quietly, which is more than you deserve.
Lex:For what?
Superman:For framing Batman for the murder of that family and those cops, for nearly having Lois Lane and Jimmy Olson killed.
Lex:I had nothing to do with those things, they must be the actions of a madman,it was Batman who broke into my facility and stole my property,it was some mad man who killed those people and cops, and it was a prison inmate who killed that man in prison, not to mention that Miss Lane and Mister Olson broke into my facility to begin with,so you see Superman,I am innocent in all of this.
Superman remains quiet,Lex is right, even if he did commit those crimes, there's no way to prove he did it.
Lex:You see Superman,I own Metropolis,my technology built it,my will keeps it going, and nearly two thirds of its people work for me whether they know it or not,so you could come after me,but with no reason to,people will just think that your harassing someone who doesn't like you,and your image is bad enough as it is right?
Because we know better now don't we,devils don't come hell beneath us,no they..they come from the sky.
Superman:I'll be watching you Luthor.
Lex:And I will be watching you.
Superman leaves,as Lex watches on with a smile that soon turns into a scowl.
Later,we see Batman cleared of all charges,as Blake is taken into custody.
Lois also decides to try and expose Lex as the criminal he is,we then cut to the Batcave,as see Bruce doing away with his bat brand and even starts shutting down the cave,as Clark suddenly appears behind him, making a joke saying how easy it was to find this place.
Bruce tells Clark that he nearly became something he's not and that he needs to step away from Batman for a while,he also needs to make amends with his family and friends.
He apologizes to Clark for nearly killing him,but Clark states that if he'd been in Bruce's shoes he'd probably do the same thing, which is why they need each other,to keep each other grounded, but that he should probably keep the spear handy just in case.
Bruce says he's got a better idea,as he brings up several images on his monitor of several different people(these could include Aquaman,Flash,Cyborg, possibly Hawkgirl, even Swanwick is there, but they're just photos of them as civilians, even Cyborg is a normal human being)
Clark:What is this?
Bruce:I think Alexander was looking into the Metahumans theory before he died.
Clark:Not so much a theory anymore if me or the Flash are anything to go by.
Why was he looking into this?
Bruce:Maybe he saw them as a threat, maybe it was his bigotry, who knows, but this is what caught my eye.
Bruce then pulls up the photo of Wonder Woman from the original film.
Clark:Pretty lady, but what does Xena warrior princess have to do with anything?
Bruce:Because…
Bruce then pulls up security footage of Lex's party, where the same woman appears.
Bruce:I saw that same woman at Lex's party last week.
Clark stares at the two photos in shock.
Clark:What was Luthor working on?
Bruce:No clue.
Mid-credit scene
We then cut to Lex as he enters his father's library,he walks over to the painting from the original film,he looks at it for a few seconds and has a brief flashback to when he was a kid, seeing his father go into a secret vault that he had behind it.
He remembers seeing a secret compartment where a number tap is located.
He opens the secret compartment and taps a few numbers in and the painting comes loose from the wall revealing the vault.
Lex then opens the vault and brings a latter over and climbs up as there is a secret shelf of books(that look ancient) with titles that different languages on them, such as greek, spanish, jewish, and even celtic,he pulls one book that has some unknown language on it and opens it up to reveal a mysterious drawing inside, that shows two armies on it,on one side we amazons, atlanteans, man, and the gods,as well a green lantern.
On the other,we see several monstrous figures,bug-like demons, and a rock-like giant standing in the background.
Lex:What the hell were you working on Dad?
Lex then sees a small box on one of the shelves and picks it up,he begins fiddling with the buttons when a portal suddenly opens,he looks at the portal, and briefly sees another world that is on fire,a strange creature then flies close to the portal, causing Lex to shut it off.
He drops the box on the floor and his face is white as snow,he looks at the drawing again, then smiles.
Lex:Well I'll be damned.
Post-credit scene..
We see a large ship pull behind the Earth's moon,as we see the robotic figure from "Man of steel" looking out from his cock-pit,he turns to a blonde woman.
Brainiac:Find him.
The blonde woman then flies out of the ship and down to the Earth below.
And there you go,the rewrite to Batman V Superman,we took a lot of the unnecessary filler out,we kept the focus on our Heroes, everyone's motives are a little more clear(especially Lex's)and we saved all the groundwork for future movies till the end.
Does this fix all the problems with BvS..No,but it's a start, plus we had a few nods to the animated series in there as well.
So with that out of the way, let's turn our focus to…
*WONDER WOMAN
Wonder woman will basically be the same,as everyone agrees it's one of the best films of the DCEU,I mean it's practically the movie that saved the DCEU when it was facing decimation, but it's not perfect, there is one thing that everyone agrees on,the third act climax.
What could have been a perfect message about men being responsible for their own wars and actions, and that they are not being made to do anything,is quickly taken away by a fight scene with the god of war,and as soon as she defeats him,the war is over.
That be like at the end of The Dark Knight,Batman defeated Joker, but then someone on the civilian ship walked up to the guard holding the bomb and decided to blow up the prison ship anyway,it takes away the message that anyone is capable of doing good,no matter what their background.
We all have free will, and we are all guilty of sin,we are all capable of doing things that is ungodly, its not exclusive to any one race, gender, sexual preference, religious background, sin is human nature, and unfortunately with the way the world(and country for that matter)is today,we are constantly being reminded of that, but we are also being reminded that man is capable of good and love, and that message is in Wonder Woman too, they could have coincided with one another,Ares could have told Diana that that is naturally hateful power hungry, but then she turns around and proves him wrong, and we don't have to have a big CG battle to show it.
Nando V Movies actually did a two part rewrite of this scene and that will be the basis of the rewrite today.
Part One:Diana V Ares
So let's set the scene,Diana has just killed Ludendorff, she believes the war is now over, but sees that it is still commencing, she is confused as Steve Trevor runs up to her,she explains how she doesn't understand why the war is still going.
Steve explains that men sometimes do evil things just because they can and that there isn't always a Ares behind the scenes,he then sets off to bring down Doctor Poison's plane full of deadly gas,as Diana just stands and watches.
But suddenly,Diana feels someone behind her and sees a man in armor standing over the watchtower, she then jumps up on it and is greeted by Ares himself(In the original he's played by David Thewlis, but Nando decided to recast him with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau,honestly you could replace him with anyone or just keep Thewlis,so you could possibly hint at Ares taking possession of people's bodies or something like that, anyway)She then walks up to him, sword drawn.
Diana:I'm going to stop you Ares, and end this war once and for all.
Ares:My dear child, this war was here long before I was,and it will continue long after I'm gone.
Diana:No,You corrupted the humans, you're the cause of all this.
Ares:You think I was the cause of their suffering, their hatred, their jealousy?
I guess that is what they would tell you.
Diana:Who?
Ares:The Amazons Diana,I did not corrupt man,Zeus did.
Diana:No,Zeus created man in his image.
Ares:What did they tell you about the gods, that they were bashions of truth and justice, fair and merciful?
All lies.
The gods were vain and petty,Zeus did create man in his image, look around,this..is..his image.
Violence,pain,suffering.
Diana:Lies.
Ares:Give me that lasso you carry, and I'll tell you a new story, one I doubt you'll hear from anyone but me.
Ares(cont.):Zeus created man, you're right about that, but not because of some grand benevolence,he was bored, and he wanted praise.
So Zeus created a species to worship him, statues, paintings, all that.
And for a while it worked, man was obedient, they did what Zeus said, and Zeus was happy, for a while, but just as he grew bored without them,he grew bored with them.
So Zeus and the rest of the gods started toying with the humans, playing tricks on them, for their own entertainment,I think Zeus even fathered a few human children.
And then,they forgot about them.
And that was when I noticed, when all the other gods lost interest, the humans had a proclivity towards war,it was beautiful, they fought with each other over land and treasure and women, they even invented reasons for that weren't even there.
And as mens wars became more powerful,so did I.
I was able to feed off it,their wars gave me strength, and for a moment,I was more powerful than Zeus,he wouldn't have it,so Zeus tried to kill me.
And when that failed,he did the only other thing he could,he started killing them.
Plagues, famine,Zeus knew that if he ended their fighting,I would lose my power and he could destroy me.
But you'll never guess what happened next,as their crops fail and their children died, the humans only fought more, more deaths, more destruction, more suffering, and I became the most powerful god of all,Zeus rallied the rest of the gods to destroy me.
Funny thing is,I wasn't even trying to fight Zeus,I liked things the way they were, but like I said,Zeus was jealous and fearful and obsessed with controlling the throne,so he couldn't help himself.
He lead all of the rest of the gods to destroy me,my own brothers and sisters,I did not want to fight them, but what choice did I have?
And even our own fighting gave me more strength, they didn't stand a chance.
And as he died,Zeus summoned every bit of strength he had left, and cast me down to Earth.
Here, where I've been for the past few millennia, lost all my power,a shadow of my former self.
But this war,the great war,may finally give me my power back,if this war continues, and I think it will,I'll be strong enough to re-enter Mount Olympus and be the god I once was...the Only god.
Diana:I'll never let you,I'll stop you.
Ares:How,you can't stop this, those gods whose weapons you carry, they made this.
I don't cause their wars,I can't,I've no power to influence the humans, the only reason you see me is because you're a part of our world,an Amazon.
But to them,I might as well not exist,I'm merely a spectator in their theater of war.
Diana:But I'll fight.
Ares:And what will you be fighting for?
The honor of the gods, they don't have any, they never did.
The men you're trying to protect, are not worth your protection, they're violent, cruel, you can't fix them because they were never good, and you can't kill me to end this war, because I have no part in it.
This war will go on,and if it does end, another will just rise to take its place, like it always has.
I've always liked the Amazons, you're fierce, strong, and independent, and I swear on my honor, when I come into power,I will leave Themyscira untouched, you'll be free to live a long life.
Go home Diana, you're too good for them.
And that's it,that's all the interaction Diana and Ares have.
Ares leaves, never to be seen again, possibly till either the next movie or the third.
But that leaves the question, what about the climax, well Nando had a part two video to this rewrite,I suggest going to watch it for more context(Nando V Movies:Paging Doctor poison)
But here's the gist.
Part Two:Saving the day
After Ares leaves,Diana notices Steve boarding the bomber,so she runs over to his team(Chief,Charlie, and Sameer)and asks them what's going on.
They explain that Steve is going to try and bring the bomber down, but it will most likely kill him in the process,Diana says they need to save him and the four go to work on thinking up a plan.
Sameer says that he can fly one of the planes to get close to the bomber, due to some flying lessons he's taken,Charlie says that he can use the machine guns to keep enemy pilots off their backs, redeeming himself in the process.
Diana latches herself to one of the wings with her lasso and the three head off for the bomber,Charlie manages to destroy a majority of the planes,as Sameer gets closer to the bomber,Diana bids farewell to the others and jumps for the bomber.
As she boards, she sees that all the guards have been incapacitated or killed, she makes her way to the back of the plane and sees Doctor Maru holding Steve at gunpoint, she prepares to attack but stops when she remembers what Steve said about people not always being controlled and stands down.
She talks Maru into helping them take down the bomber, seeing that she didn't originally want to be part of the war(check out original video for more context)and Maru agrees to help, but she says that the bomber can't simply be landed,as someone would just steal it,and it can't be blown up as it would spread over the earth through the wind.
She does say that it can be brought down into the ocean and sunk to the bottom, but she needs to disarm the bombs and someone needs to fly the plane, which means two people will have to die,she being one of them.
Steve says that he'll fly the plane to ocean and bring it down,Diana tries to talk him out of it,but Steve gives her the "I can save tomorrow, you can save the world" speech and the two share a kiss,as Diana grabs a parachute and jumps out of the plane,as she is forced to watch it crash into the ocean.
Now in terms of mid and/or post credit scenes,I think for the mid-credit scene,I'll use the deleted scene in which Etta candy and Steve's team research the mother boxes.
And for the post credit scene,We see monitors of several different events(such as the attack from the Mirakuru soldiers, the league of assassins
attack, and the fight between Superman and Zod,as Ares watches on,as we see his armor glow hinting his power slowly returning.
And that's it,again watch Nando's video for more context, but that's pretty much it.
It's not perfect,I know that, but it's better then what we actually got.
And with that, year three is officially done, the next few rewrites will be slightly different from previous ones, but hopefully it will get better over time, especially since a lot of the next couple rewrites will be original ideas instead of copies of other peoples rewrites.
(UNTIL THEN,THIS IS THE AGENT OF LITERATURE SIGNING OFF,GOD BLESS AND JESUS LOVES YOU.)
