Chapter 5: First Missions

Ame woke up the next morning feeling warm and safe. She didn't really and to get out of bed but something was tickling her neck. Giggling she sits up. Gently she picks up the bug off her neck. She smiles at the caterpillar.

"Good morning to you too."

She gets out of bed and sets the caterpillar onto one of the big boutiques of flowers she recieved. Smiling she goes over to her dresser and grabs some clothes. She changes into the grey sundress adding a pair of dark blue shorts underneath. She slides on her sandles and pulls on Shino's jacket. Ame brushes her hair then pulls it back into a pony tail. She should go see about getting it cut. Ame heads down the hall to the staircase that leads down to the inclosed garden. Smiling at the memory of the party the night before as she makes her way into the ramen shop.

Ayame and Teuchi were working to get the shop open on time. They both look up and smile at her.

"Morning Ame. care for some breakfast?"

Ayame places a bowl with rice, sasuage, scrambled eggs and a couple slices of ham on the counter in front of a seat. Ame smiles and sits down.

"Thank you Auntie Mae."

"Auntie Mae? Is that a nickname? Aww I feel special."

Teuchi smiles and sets a glass of milk in front of the young girl.

"I hope it's ok. Thank you grandpa."

The clean shavened man smiles and looks proudly at his only granddaughter as she starts to eat her food.

"Ame, some young folk will be coming here to show you around the village and help you get your barrings. Your cousin will be one of them. They have some missions to do around town. I thought you would like to join them and make some friends. Plus the Hokage has agreed to pay you for helping out the squad."

Ame looks up at him and smiles. She sallows the food in her mouth. She takes a quick drink.

"Is it really ok grandpa? I don't want to get in their way. I thought I could help out around here today?"

"Ame, go spend time with Naruto. He is really excited to spend time with you and show you what a ninja does. Plus he wants you to meet his team. Plus sweetheart all we do is work all day. Go have fun and learn more about the leaf."

Ame goes around the counter and hugs him. Teuchi is taken by the sudden contact but smiles. He pats her back gently. Ayame smiles at them. Ame pulls back when she hears Naruto. Her blonde haired cousin comes in smiling like a goof ball.

"Hey Ame are you ready to go? We've been waiting on you. Let's get going."

"Naruto, take care of Ame for us. bring her back safely and I'll give you a nice big bowl of ramen on the house."

Naruto perks up at the sound of free ramen. Ame giggles and smiles as she goes to join her cousin. She waves bye to her aunt and grandfather before following her blonde haired cousin. He talksk to her and points out the different shops along the main street. Ame follows and waves at the people who looks at her curiously. Naruto leads her to a bridge where a boy with raven black hair, a girl with pink hair, and the silver haired man from the day before.

"Naruto! you're late! Who is this?"

The pink haired girl yells at him irrated. Ame steps protectively in front of Naruto.

"My name is Ame Uzumaki. I'm Naruto's cousin. I'm also the reason he is late. I don't appreciate you yelling at my cousin."

The raven black haired boy smirks and steps forward. He puts his hands in his pockets.

"I'm Uchia Sasuke. That is Sakura. That's our sense, Hatake Kakashi. You don't seem like a loser like your cousin."

Sakura's eyes grow big like saucers. As soon as he had finished his sentance Ame had slapped him across the face. She stands glaring at him while Naruto and Sakura look on in disbelief.

"Don't call him a loser. When I'm not here feel free too. But refrain from disrespecting him in my presence. Thank you very much."

The man steps forard and moves between the four of them.

"Alright. Let's settle down. Since introductions have been completed that saves some time. Today we have two D rank Missions. One of which is to show Ame around while completing the others. She has also gracefully volunteered to help out with our missions. Now then, the first one is Madam Shijimi has lost her cat Tora. Our objective is to locate and catch Tora. It's a retreaval mission. Everyone take a radio. Naruto help Ame with hers."

They all grab a radio and Naruto helps her to put it on and teachs her how they work. The five of them head off and start getting details about Tora. After hours of talking to random people and looking for clues they discover that she is in the woods. They find a main base or somewhere to meet back up. Ame is tired from all the walking and sits down on a root of a tree.

"Ame are you alright?"

"Hmn? Yeah I'm ok. I'm just a little tired."

"Ame you stay right there and rest. You're still recovering so don't push yourself. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura let's go. Our target is this way. Ame radio us if you need help. If in danger say-"

"Ramen."

"Ok. Say ramen three times and we'll come right back."

Ame smiles and nods. She waves them off and leans back. She closes her eyes and thinks what she has learned today.

Let's see. The sense, Kakashi, is laid back and calm. He is ever vigilant though. He is wise and seems to know what he is doing. Sasuke is arrogant. He has a darkness in his eyes that he tries to hide it. Sakura is clearly obsessed with Sasuke. I've noticed a lot of girls staring ata him like that. The poor guy he isn't a piece of meat. Finally, my cousin, He is hyperactive and spazy. He seems like he has a goal that he has to accomplish. Some of the villagers look at him in a mean way. I don't like it. He seems lonely. I noticed he hid it every time he saw me looking.

I wonder if grandpa and Aunty would let me live with him so he isn't alone. I'll ask them when we get back. I don't want to upset them but I don't want him to be alone. I'm alone right now.

"Ame?"

She looks towards the group and smiles as Naruto fights with an orange cat with a red ribbon on it's ear. Ame goes over and gently takes the cat from him. Ame pets the cat and shushes it soothingly and the cat calms down in her arms. The cat starts purring and closes her eyes.

"How didk you do that?"

"I don't know. Anyone I try to calm does so at my touch."

Ame smiles gently at the cat. Kakashi makes a mental note to report that. He directs the team to the Hokage building. Upon seeing the Madam, Tora jumped out of Ame's arms. Naruto caught the cat and quickly handed her over to her owner. Madam proceeded to hug and squeeze on the cat. Ame felt sorry for the poor kitty but knew better than to say something.

"Job well done. Ame, I hope you have a small grasp of the layout of the village."

Ame bows her head in respect.

"I think I do Lord Hokage. Um Lord Hokage? If I may? I, Um, would like to make a request with you and Hatake-Sense. If that is alright?"

Lord Hokage smiles and nods at the young girl. The other three children step outside. Once the door is shut, they turn their attention to the silver haired girl playing with her fingers nervously. Both men note that she is shaking lightly.

"F-first, I wanted to make sure it was okay with you both if I move in with my cousin? I plan to ask my aunt, and grandfather. Naruto too of course. But I wanted to make sure it wouldn't get in the way of his training."

The Hokage smiles at the young girl.

"Of course that is fine. As long as you get permission I don't see kwhy that wouldn't be possible."

Ame shaking stops and she smiles.

"Thank you. Um if possible, I would like to help and learn to heal at the hoispital if thats alright? And if it's okay with yoiu Hatake-sense? I would like to help your team with the missions around the village. If I could I would also like to join you guys in training as well. I don't want to be a burden but an asset to my family and the village."

Ame blushes darkly. Kakashi smiles at the young girl and smiles.

"Of course. Consider yourself an honorary member of squad 7. If the Hokage doesn't have any objestions to it."

He smiles and shakes his head no.

"Congradulations on completing your first mission Ame Uzumaki."

Ame smiles and is practically bouncing in place. She bows then rushes to the door and oipens it. She goes out and grabs Naruto's hand.

"Naruto! Let's go talk to my grandpa and get some ramen. I just completed my first mission."

Smiling they take off excited to the ramen shop to tell the news to the waiting grownups.
