Godspeed

Naruto smiled and looked around to see everyone happy about that. He sighed "I wish I could tell you that this all ends with that but it doesn't, we need to hide all of the Flash and Godspeed stuff so that we could have the construction people come in here and make sure that everything is up to code."

Cisco smiled "I have the perfect way to do just that so we can hide all of this so that we can have people come in and out all the time. We just need to test it and make sure that it works."

Naruto smiles and nods "Sure let's get it powered up and test it so that we can work out and kinks if we need to."

Cisco ran over to his work station so that he could get all of the Flash and Godspeed things hidden. Cisco powered it up and it worked for two minutes before short circuiting. Nate walked over and the two of them took it apart to see what the problem was. Nate saw it at once and pointed in out "Dude, you were putting too much power through this with these little wires, they'd never hold that kind of power so you either need to make more than one or we need to make a bigger one that can handle the amount of power we need to hide all of this."

Cisco smiled "Let's do this together, it'll be fun to work on a project with you again Nate."

Nate nods and walks over so they could start working on the project that would hide all of the superhero gear and allow others into here. Nate suddenly stopped and looked at Cisco. "Wait what if we make it so that you had to go through a retina scanner in order to get in here instead?"

Cisco looked at Nate with wide eyes before hugging him "Dude that's a fantastic idea!"

Nate smiled and hugged Cisco back "Let's get to work than, the sooner we get the scanner working the sooner we can put everyone in it."

Two hours later and they took a step back while wiping sweat off of their foreheads. Nate looked at Cisco and smiled "I think its done bro."

Cisco nods and smiled "Yeah now we just need to test it, so who goes first?"

Nate popped his neck "I will."

Nate waited for Cisco to tell him that it was on and when he did Nate looked at the part that would actually scan his retina. The device worked and the light that was red turned green signaling that it worked and that it had accepted Nate as the only person that could enter the room after they got in attached to the door operating system. Nate looked at everyone else "Alright you all need to have your retinas scanned so that we can get you into the system before we attach it to the door and its operating system."

Everyone nods and five minutes later Nate and Cisco were attaching the scanner to the doors operating system. Cisco was still inside the cortex incase the door didn't open the way it was suppose to while Nate was in the hallway to see if the whole thing worked the way it was meant too. The door closed and Nate tried to enter without using the scanner only to be denied access. He then used the scanner and the door opened right up. Nate walked into the cortex and smiled "Well that works. Now we just need to make some way for the others not in the cortex to know who enters from outside."

Caitlin looked at Nate with a raised eyebrow "What do you mean Nate?"

Nate chuckled "I'm talking about making an AI that is connected to our whole system so that it can be used in the whole building."

Everyone looked at with wide eyes before Cisco shook his head "Nate that's something only you can work on and you already have a lot on your plate to do are you sure that you have time for something else too?"

Nate smiled "Of course I have time and the AI isn't a main concern for me at the moment Cisco, it can come after we get this building up and running, not to mention that we need to bring Ronnie home where he belongs. I also need to know what the speed force inside Barry and I can do."

Everyone nods and smiles when they realize that Nate's not going to push himself with all of the things that he needs to work on. Nate cracked his back "Well since we don't know when Multiplex is going to attack again I need Cisco to come help me with something that involves the pipe line. We're going to be making it into a temporary prison for meta-humans until Iron Heights is capable of holding them."

Caitlin looked at Nate and he saw some fear in her eyes. He walked up to her and pulled her into a hug. "You don't have to go down there with us until you're ready and no one here will force you to so just take your time alright?"

He felt Caitlin nod into his chest and he gently gave her a comforting squeeze. "Are you going to be alright?"

Caitlin stepped back and smiled up at him "I'm going to be just fine because I have all of you Nate, thank you for always being there for me when I need someone even if I didn't realize it myself."

While those two were having a moment Iris heard Barry whisper to Cisco. "Did those two use to date or something?"

Cisco smiled "Yeah they actually meant each other in collage and he was the first person that didn't see her mother's name and wealth when he looked at her. He only saw Caitlin Snow and that made her happy because just about everyone else only wanted to get close to her because of her mom. Nate was different and that lead to the two of them dating. However they didn't last because Nate refused to come in between her and her family, so when her mom go really sick and it caused Caitlin to move back home Nate told her that they would always be friends. The next time they meant face to face was here, Nate smiled and thought that their relationship would start back up but she had already started to date Ronnie so Nate kept his feelings locked away and watched her be happy with another man. What should have Nate red with rage didn't even faze him because she was happy and that's all he wanted. That's why making that splicer is so important to him."

Iris looked at Cisco "Did he say anything else about other girls?"

Cisco shakes his head "Not my place to say anything else. I'm only allowed to talk about the attraction between those two because Nate doesn't care who knows as long as Caitlin doesn't know that Nate is still in love with her. Nate knows that she'd feel horrible if she knew that he was holding himself back with her because of Ronnie, so neither of you can say anything to her about this."

Iris nods and Barry looked confused "Why can't we tell her? I mean it's not like anything will change between them if she knew."

Cisco sighed and Iris smacked Barry on the back of his head "Don't be stupid Barry, if she knew than she'd know that Nate was still in love with her and that would cause her to have to decide between Nate and Ronnie while risking losing one of them forever, this way she gets to be happy and she gets to have both of them in her life. Nate knows this and that's why he keeps his feelings lock away."

Barry looked at Iris with wide eyes "I don't understand why he would do that."

Cisco sighed "Nate lives his life rather simply Barry, he cares about people and as long as those people are happy Nate is able to put himself through hell to keep them happy."

Nate walked up to them "Barry you need to understand that when you put people before yourself that there will be things that you'll have to do in order to yourself so that they get to be happy, even if that means that you can't have them in your life the way you want. Now if you excuse me I-"

Nate was cut off but Joe's cell ringing. They all looked at him and he looked at them after he hung up "I have to go because Singh wants me and Eddie to go talk to Simon Stagg."

They nod and Barry grabs his jacket "I'll go with you."

Joe shook his head "No, you either need to stay here or get back to you lab because you need to get so more of those backed up cases finished."

Barry opened his mouth to protest when Nate stopped him "Joe is right Barr, you need to get those backed up cases back at the CCPD finished so that you have that off your back, now go deal with those cases, we have everything handled here and Joe can call either of us if something goes wrong, plus you're going to be at the CCPD so that if something does go wrong you're going to be the first one to know and that means that you can get there faster since you'll know before I do."

Barry nods and grabs one of those energy bars before speeding off to his lab. Nate looked at Joe "Don't stand there looking at me like that, I've known Barry his whole life so I knew what he was going to say now you have a job to do so get going."

Joe smiled and left. Nate looked at Cisco "Come on we need to get the pipe line ready to hold metas so that we have somewhere to keep them until we can either figure out how to take away their powers or until Iron Heights can hold them."

Cisco nods and they walk down to the pipe line so that they could get it ready for what it needed to do. An hour later they walked into the cortex only to see Barry lying in the infirmary. Nate looked at Caitlin with a raised eyebrow. "What happened to him?"

She sighed and shook her head. "He went to deal with Multiplex without any back-up. He's really banged up so take it easy on him if you decide to smack him."

Nate nods and walks into the infirmary. "What the hell were you thinking going to deal with Multiplex without back-up Barry? You could have gotten yourself killed!"

Barry rolled his eyes "I'm fine Nate, besides I won't be going back out there again so you don't have to worry about anything. I'm done being the Flash."

Nate sighed "Maybe that's for the best then."

Iris looked at Nate with wide eyes "What do you mean that it's for the best? I thought that you cared about Barry!"

Nate looked at her "I do care about him more than you know Iris but if he's going to give up this easily then its better that he gets out of this life now because if he keeps this idea then he'll just get himself or someone else killed. That's the thing about being a hero that he needs to get into his head, we can't afford to have self doubt while we're doing our job so if he can't handle the pressure than he needs to put up his suit now before something that he can't fix happens."

Barry glared at Nate "You're supposed to be making me feel better not making me want to stop using my speed, some brother you are."

Caitlin glared at Barry "You don't know what he does for you so why don't you just shut up Barry, besides Nate is right if you give up this easily than you don't need to be the Flash anymore."

Cisco nods "I agree with Caitlin dude, if you do this wrong than people die and you can't fix that so it's best for you to stop now."

Iris glared at Nate "I think he should get back up and be the Flash again."

Nate sighed "Yeah and what is he going to do when the person that dies is someone he cares about?"

Iris gasps and Barry looked at Nate with wide eyes "What do you mean Nate?"

Nate looked at Barry "This life isn't just dangerous for us little brother but it's also dangerous for those around us, if you don't learn and keep learning while training to keep getting better than you need to stop now because if you don't than everyone you care about will die because you failed when you should've been able to save them, now what are you going to do?"

Barry sighed and closed his eyes while lying his head back onto the pillow "I need time to think."

Nate nods "Take all the time you need but if you decide to be the Flash than you better be ready to train my way because I can't be watching you while we're out in the field helping people Barr."

With that Nate walked off so that he could go train before he started working on the Quantum Splicer again. Nate was working out by bench pressing about four hundred pounds shirtless. Caitlin walked in and froze when she saw what he was doing. She watched him for ten minutes with a blush because of how his muscles flexed and the way the sweat made his skin glow from the lights. Nate put the bar up and sat up before grabbing his towel and wiping the sweat off of himself. He looked over and saw Caitlin was standing there. Nate walked up to her as he was putting his shirt back on. "What's up Cait?"

She smiled at him. "I was just worried that you needed someone to talk to because I know that you don't like talking like that to you family."

Nate smiled at her "I know what you mean and thank you for coming to check on me but I'm fine, Barry just needed some tough love."

Caitlin nods "I know but I have to ask what are you hoping his choice will be?"

He sighed and closed his eyes. "I hope that he decides to stay as the Flash."

Caitlin smiled "I'm glad that you feel that way. I also hope that he continues to be the Flash because you are going to need help out there until the two of you are ready to be heroes with the speed you now have access too."

Nate nodded "I know but I don't want him out there because he's going to get himself killed or worse he's going to get some innocent people killed."

Caitlin motioned for Nate to follow her "Come on we need to get to the cortex so that we could find out if where Multiplex is going to attack next."

Nate nods and they walk to the cortex before Caitlin uses the retina scanner. She walks over to her work station that has some of Multiplex's blood on a slide. Nate walked over to his work station and got onto his computer before looking at everything he could find about Danton Black before he became Multiplex. Nate found something that might explain why he was going after Stagg when he heard his phone ring. He picked it up and saw that it was Barry that called "Hey, what's wrong?"

Barry sighed in relief "Nate, Multiplex is going to kill Simon Stagg right now, I need your help now! This is all going down at Stagg Industries."

Nate stood up "I'll meet you there."

He hung up, grabbed his suit and took off. He got to Stagg Industries only to find that Barry wasn't there before he heard gun shots before running inside. He saw the bullets flying towards Stagg and grabbed him before putting him in a room. "Stay here."

Nate ran back out only to see Barry getting his ass kicked. He ran down and gave a spinning round-house kick to the Multiplex that was about to shoot Barry. Nate looked at Barry and started to vibrate his vocal cords "Flash, we need to find the prime and take him down so that we can stop him before someone else dies."

Barry nods and does the same to his vocal cords "Let's do this Godspeed."

With that the both of them started running around fighting the clones until Nate saw one that was sweating and breathing heavier than the rest. Nate dropped him is a right hook that caused him to do a 180 spin before falling to the ground unconscious. Nate looked around and saw that all of the clones where on the ground unmoving. He looked at Barry and nodded "We need to get him to a safe location before we lock him up so that he can't hurt anyone anymore."

Neither of them noticed Multiplex getting up. He looked at the two of them before pulling out a gun and shooting at them. Nate pushed Barry out of the way and dodged the bullets without getting him. Nate looked at Black "You don't have to do this, I know what happened to your wife but she wouldn't want you to kill in her name so just lower the gun and we can talk about this."

Multiplex growled "I'm going to kill Simon Stagg because he killed my wife. The two of you can either stand down or you can die with him!"

Nate sighed and ran right at him before taking the gun and knocking him out again. Nate sighed and made sure that the gun was unloaded before he dropped it on the ground. He looked over and Barry and gave him a thumbs up. Multiplex got back up and ran out a window. Nate caught him before he fell too far. "I got you just hold on."

Multiplex had another arm out of the one Nate grabbed and had it try to stab Nate. This forced Nate to let him go and Multiplex fell to his death. Nate sighed and rolled onto his back before sitting up. He looked at Barry and shook his head, which caused Barry to look down. Nate stood up and walked over to Barry before putting a hand on his shoulder "Let's get back to our base Flash."

Barry nods and the both took off. Three minutes later they inside the cortex with Barry looking at his suit with sadness in his eyes and sighed. "Nate I have my answer, I'm going to be the Flash until the both of us can handle doing this without the other, at the point I'll decide if I want to keep doing this."

Nate nods "Sure but I will always be here if you need me for anything."
