Abandoned Warehouse, Berlin
Sam Wilson looked at the very agitated Steve Rogers, "You alright man?" Sam questioned cautiously, knowing seeing his old lover with her memories wiped was bringing back some bad memories back, for the both of them. Steve glanced at his friend before sighing and running his fingers across his face and up into his blonde hair.
"I never really found out why her dog tags were left next to my bed side table in the hospital two years ago." Steve admitted, frowning, his eyes scrunching up at the side. "Emma wasn't like this in the 40's, she was kind but stubborn had a loving heart. I can't see that girl anywhere in that woman right now." Steve continued making Sam shake his head, knowing he had to tell Steve what had happened to her two years ago and what she had done.
"That girl is still the woman you loved, she's just broken. Steve, she pulled you from the river." Steve looked over at him as Sam continued to look out of the window, "I noticed her in your hospital room, she had come to say goodbye. Left those on the bedside table, she wanted to know if you would survive." Sam looked over at him. "She's been a pawn in HYDRA's game for too long, she was only really finding out who she was when this happened." Steve frowned, looking back at the woman.
Emma was curled up underneath Sam's jacket, still knocked out cold by Sam whacking her across the head with a plank off wood. "I thought she was dead, when I saw her on that bridge that day. I thought she was still the woman I fell for." Sam cupped his shoulder as Emma groaned as she rolled onto her side, her blue eyes opening slowly before she winced and closed them again.
"It's to damn bright." She grumbled tiredly, knocking her head against the wall and yelping, a painful one. "Ow, what the fu-" Steve glared at her and Emma reeled in her language. "Who hit me?"
"That would be me," Sam sheepishly grimaced.
"Which Emma are we talking to right now?" Steve questioned cocking a brow, making Emma look over at him with her eyebrows furrowed.
She grinned lightly, "I remember when you got into your first fight, you were tiny so I stepped in. Got some very sexist remarks from your bullies but they mostly stayed away after being on the receiving end of my right hook." Steve grinned at the memory, she always had a mean right hook. Her grin dropped when she realised what had happened. "What did we do?" She questioned, she remembered the evaluator, reading from the little red book from Siberia then everything was just a blank.
Steve grimaced for a moment, not wanting to tell her what she did, but he knew she deserved to know. "Enough, you threw Natasha pretty far. I was on the receiving end of your right hook and you kicked Sam in the gut." She frowned, nipping at her bottom lip. "What did this guy want, Em?" Her heart fluttered at the old nickname but right now, she had more pressing matters such as Siberia.
She sighed, "I don't know who he was, but he was asking about where me and Bucky were made, kept, trained." Emma admitted.
"He wanted to know exactly where," Bucky called out, making Emma go to stand up but she was pulled back by ropes. Sam looked at Steve and he slowly nodded, Sam walked around her and cut the ropes off of her. Emma rushed inside the small room, gasping as she saw his metal arm squashed in a vice but she didn't care as she threw herself at him. He chuckled tiredly before wrapping his flesh arm around her waist. "It's good to see you, сестра." He whispered, pressing a kiss against the side of her temple.
Sam looked at Steve with a questioning look but Steve just shook his head, with a small grin forming on his lips as he watched the two together before asking his next question, "Why would he need to know that?" Steve questioned, tilting his head as the two siblings looked at one another before Emma unwrapped herself from Bucky and stood up.
"Because we're not the only Winter Soldiers." Emma began as she rubbed her knuckles, remembering how much pain she went through in Siberia.
"Who were they?" Steve questioned, bringing Emma out of her daydream.
"Their most elite death squad. More kills than anyone in HYDRA history." Bucky started "And that was before the serum."
"The serum only made them stronger, more vicious and better killers." Emma breathed out, as she slipped down to sit beside her brother. "I hate to admit it now, but they scared me a bit." She bit down onto her lower lip, as Bucky reached over and pressed his finger against her shoulder. The two always had a strong bond in the 40's, or as much as Bucky could remember, they had and they had some how managed to get that back, even with the two year gap.
"They all turn out like the both of you?" Sam questioned making Emma look over at her with a deadpan look.
"Worse."
A blonde woman stepped out of the car and Emma instantly recognised her from the German Forces Building, a frown formed on her lips as she picked at the skin on her thumb. Bucky was glaring at the back of Sam's seat, "Can you move your seat up?" Bucky questioned, making Sam frown before clenching his fingers together.
"No." Emma rolled her eyes at the testosterone in the car.
"Sam, please?" She pleaded, exasperatedly. At this moment, she couldn't deal with the toxic masculinity in the small car, Sam huffed before pulling his seat forward. "Thank you," She thanked him with a small grin, before seeing the blonde outside pull Steve's head down to kiss him. Her grin fell, Emma closed her eyes before taking a deep breath; reminding herself that she was a killer and that she had been away for almost 70 years.
She needed to let him move on.
Steve grinned as he talked to her before she walked away, he turned to look at the car to see Bucky and Sam nodding their heads and he gave them an exasperated look. He walked back towards the car with their equipment before slipping into the seat beside Sam, "Was that as good?" Sam teased, and Steve grumbled quietly as Emma leaned her head against the window.
"Shut up."
Steve pulled away from underneath the bridge, heading towards the airport. Emma was mostly quiet the whole way out there, which made Bucky worry for her but he knew she would be okay. She always was.
