They wanted us to seem human give us human qualities that's why we where based of all this. We where loyal to our wielders no matter what. Even if we have to commit several atrocities for them. I would do what they wanted no matter what And I have killed many many people for my Wielders finding a compatible wielder was always easy just gotta find someone I like someone that I know wont mistreat me in anyway shape or form. They where all great to be around I always choose them well, but the real fun I had was with the other biological Teigu there most likely dead now but I loved them they where the only other things I knew that didn't die with time. But it seems they might be gone to... Each cycle you get more and more lonely losing your friends around you but they always stayed….
Tatsumi opened his eyes remembering his past memories only to see Leone with her arm extended across the table resting her hand on his head.
"Why is it you always have need to pet me?" Tatsumi asked Leone
Leone smiled playfully
"because you get all submissive and down most the time, and it seems to cheer you up." she said in a teasing tone
"yea its not like that at all" he said resting his head on the table embarrassed by her hand on his head but never quite telling her to stop.
"so you it seems Mine actually doesn't mind you anymore that's good!" she said cheerfully
Tatsumi perked up
"do you think? I'm glad to have helped her out" he said
"yea! Ever since that mission she hasn't said a word of anything bad against you" she said
Tatsumi smiled
"thank you I needed to hear that" he said smiling
"so what is it Imperial Arms think about?"
"past cycles mostly thinking of old friends.." he said
"well any past cycle in particular?"
"the last one, it was… a troublesome cycle..:" he said
"hey maybe you could tell me about it I love war stories from Bulat so maybe I will from you!" she said
"they aren't nice stories"
"well you don't expect war stories to be nice.. you don't have to if you don't want to."
"you shouldn't really concern yourself with my wants or needs they are irrelevant."
"what of course they are relevant." Leone said
"no they aren't I'm no different to your Lionel belt" he said
"I'm not gonna wear you around my waist Tatsumi.."
"what no I-i that's not what I meant!" he said blushing suddenly
Leone snickered
"relax it was a joke Tatsumi but the fact you even had a reaction like that proves you at least have human qualities." she said nice like
"did it ever occur to you that I'm just mimicking what I see around me?
She sighed it seemed he wasn't buying it.
"if you really want to be seen that way fine just tell me war stories then"
"I'll can tell you about my previous wielders as well if you would like" he said
"that sounds good!"
Najenda was walking no real destination in mind checking up on her subordinates seeing how there doing, something to increase morality.
"Hey Najenda!" Lubbock said happy to be seeing his boss
"hey Lubbock how are you today?" she said in nice voice Lubbock was one of her most loyal men under her.
"good...I'm glad to see you and make use of this off day"
"of course I actually wanted to speak with you, come on walk and talk" she said motioning him to follow to which he did.
Lubbock was exited wondering what Najenda would ask him.
"yea Najenda what did you want?"
"I wanted to ask you about Tatsumi.."
Lubbock was a little disappointed to say the least.
"ugh what about Tatsumi.."
"you've been avoiding him I've noticed"
"he just seems soooo…. Well….. I don't know how to describe it ms. Najenda…"
"well your reasons aren't of importance but as it stands you the only member left who hasn't gotten to know him any better"
"I don't have anything against him I've just been cautious is all."
"you weren't very cautious when he wasn't my Teigu. Worried about me or something?"
"well you are the boss of Night Raid…."
"well I appreciate you being cautious but not knowing who your going to battle with is dangerous"
"so you want me to know him better? Is that it?"
"yes that's right."
"oh..Alright"
"don't sound so down Lubbock, Tatsumi has been very popular with your fellow members, give him a chance the Teigu might surprise you."
"if you say so Ms Najenda."
"so then there was Tyrant-Destroyer, me and him conquered a lot of southern lands but it was short lived because he died in battle I avenged him though as I always have before deactivating for about 20 years id say."
"so you said you had about 28 wielders correct?"
"yep"
"you always give em nicknames?"
"always."
"well whose next?" she asked
Tatsumi went quiet.
"now's not the time to speak of Cassandra-The-Great"
"was that your nickname for her? the great?"
"yea just forget her name... time already has so it doesn't really matter if you do to."
"oooh so she was a lady friend of yours? I get it now… anyway Next in the line is Boss right?"
"That is correct Najenda-commander is my current wielder if she where to die I would be forced to go into a hibernation."
"But yet Mine was your wielder for a little bit how does that work?" Akame asked scaring Tatsumi she really was a stealthy as a shadow
"w-while Wielder-Mine was a wielder for some time it was only temporary she couldn't fully replace Najenda-commander"
"you know I feel like half the time I see you your just answering questions."
Tatusmi smiled
"maybe that's just what I'm good at Leone"
"yea that and taking bites out of people ey?" she asked
Tatsumi gave a surprised look
"w-what.."
"Mine told me.. you sunk your teeth into that guys shoulder if that's so wouldn't that make you gluttony?" she asked curiously
"no… the Gluttony I know is a what looks like to appear as a dog its name is Hekatonkheires"
"That name is pretty long."
"Yea believe me I just like to say the word gluttony instead, its much easier."
"it doesn't answer her question still."
Tatsumi looked down at his hands flexing his fingers realizing his weapon would always be by him at all times.
"i-Its not by choice its just how I was made... I get it I wondered for many years and I think I've gotten a pretty good idea as to why... tell me what you think of when you hear something is Wrathful?"
"something unstoppable." Akame answered immediately
"yes that would be my trump card not the other matter at hand."
"something that spreads fear and chaos at every turn." Leone said giving her answer
"Yes! That's it...And whats more terrifying then having big teeth to show off….The difference between me and that dam dog Teigu is that I bite into flesh as a way to kill quickly and to spread fear no hunger would ever be involved but Koro has a hunger… it can only be possibly sated by a wielder with a huge blood lust Making him very deadly."
"Tatsumi is a useful source of information.." Akame said facing Leone
"you just now realized that?" Leone said back to her "he's basically a walking history book normally I would say something like that is boring but for Tatsumi its actually pretty cool! That's not the only thing either if I ask boss nicely he'll even do some mimicry for us which is real fun."
Tatsumi smiled, he loved praise it was what he lived for…. Literally
"ey you guys!"
Tatsumi heard a voice call out.
He looked over to see a kid with green hair. Lubbock was his name. Tatsumi got a little worried Lubbock didn't seem to like him very much.
"Ms. Najenda wanted to see us its of importance"
Tatsumi, Leone, and Akame where immediately up.. It was rare they got called in on an off day.
"Im glad your all here" Boss said
"do you have any idea why I called you all here?" Boss asked
"I'm guessing it has something to do with the murders around the capital?" Mine asked
"yes that's exactly right"
"whoever doing it is killing guards as well so he must be a tough opponent" Akame said
"yea sliced off all there heads I heard" Lubb said
"I think this is the work of Headhunter Zanku" Leone said
"Headhunter Zanku? Excuse me but who?" Tatsumi asked
"I was about to ask if you where living under a rock but then I realize you just got into this century" Mine said
"excuse me I don't know who he is either." Sheele said
"seriously shel? You probably heard about him then forgot."
"so who the hell is he?" Tatsumi asked
Mine was a little surprised with the way Tatsumi had said that perhaps he was more human then he cared to admit.
"Headhunter Zanku was a man who worked as an executioner in the biggest prison in the capital… The prime minister orders a lot of executions so he had to cut of a lot off heads eventually it became an addiction to the point where executing wasn't enough for him anymore he took to the streets and is now an infamous killer" Mine explained
"so he's a psychopath well that was a good explanation Mine." he said
Mine looked away trying her hardest not to give him a smile but she did miss having him as an Imperial Arms but hey it always could happen again.
"he most likely has an Imperial Arms so be cautious I want you guys to take teams of two and search for him at night"
"understood"
City streets
Lubbock and Tatsumi where walking through the streets they didn't talk much until Lubb asked the one question that was bugging him the entire time.
"alright… I want to know what are your intentions with Miss. Najenda" he said
"Najenda-commander? What about her?"
"are you trying to get with her?"
"wha- She's just my wielder" Tatsumi said while hiding a blush
"no don't play dumb your blushing!"
Tatsumi turned away trying not to look at him
"ok I can get why you picked her for a wielder with her charm...her charisma.." Lubbock started saying
"her hair.."Tatsumi said in a dreamy sort of manner
Lubb's eyes shot open
"I FUCKING KNEW IT!" He said pushing Tatsumi against a wall
"hey calm down there Wielder-Lu-"
"No I don't think I will you dam Teigu!" he yelled at him punching him in the face
"Hey you cant strike me that's Teigu Abuse!"
"Ow what the hell are you made of steel?" Lubbock asked holding his hand in pain
"I-I mean I can turn my hand bones to metal if you want."
"what no but just Listen man I called her first alright?"
"But when I choose her she accepted me…" He said
"What the… WAIT NO!…..Look man I get it...I really really really really get it! But you cant, not with her understood?"
"but she's my wiel-"
"I don't care you can't"
They both fell silent something that was stupidly terrifying for both of them each one was waiting to say something but couldn't.
"so do you love her?"Lubb asked after the silence became unbearable
"why do you ask such questions lubb?"
"just give me the truth…"
Tatsumi just looked into Lubb's eyes not knowing what to say.
"I-I don't even understand the concept of love…." Tatsumi said
That surprised Lubbock
"oh….just...forget about it for right now ok?"
"um ok if you say so"
A few painful hours of searching later
"well he ain't showing his face that's for dam sure."
"yes It would appear that way"
"all right don't go anywhere Tatsumi I'll be right back I gotta use the bathroom"
"you got it Lubbock-Wielder"
"stupid Teigu not even understanding love" Lubbock said
"trying to hide how you feel for Miss. Najenda I saw right through that one."
It was then he looked over and saw her... it was boss his boss as in his current employer as in the leader of Night Raid.
"Miss. Najenda! what are you doing here! Its not safe your wanted! Dead or alive!" she then gave a coy smile before running away
"wai-hold on!" Lubb said chasing after her
"uh wielder-Lubbock your taking a long time wha-" Tatsumi paused noticing no one was there in the alley way
He paused looking straight ahead
for a good 10 seconds he looked into nothingness with a stupid defeated look on his face.
"WHERE THE HELL DID HE GO?!"
The Teigu became panicked not knowing what to do
"I cant lose another wielder! Even if he is just a temporary wielder I'm still lost with out him! He's supposed to lead me! Did he ditch me? Does he just hate me? No… I will find you...you green haired bastard I will come for you."
Najenda led Lubbock into a nice open area perfect for a fight terrible for Lubb's dragon wire.
"alright stop going so fast holy shit im actually outta breath here"
"hmm so who you love most is the Leader of Night Raid? Well that is very interesting indeed"
"wha...Wait a minute your not Najenda!" he said pointing at the big blonde man
"yes I'm not you where very easy to fool"
"you Big tall bastard! I trusted you!"
"instead of big tall bastard I would prefer it if you called it by my real name.. Head Hunter Zanku!"
"oh so your Zank ey? Well that's just perfect I've been looking for you"
"oh shit he's caught me out in the open Im going to have to stall for time so that dam Teigu can get here is that what your thinking?"
Lubbock made a surprised sound
did he just read...my mind?
"yup that's my Teigu..Spectator vision I can read your mind like an open book."
"well shit...so uh what number am I thinking of?"
"ha your trying to stall for time just like I said you would"
"it was 12 by the way god you must really want me to stall don't you?"
"well I love a good fight but a good chat before dismembering my victims is a euphoric feeling I can't even hope to describe."
"god what the hell is wrong with you."
Zank laughed
"even if it ends up working against me Im still gonna talk but now… Now its time to die!"
Zank charged Lubbock only to be surprised when his face got a large gash across his face.
"ARGH what the hell!" Zank yelled out
Suddenly wires where revealed all around Zank
Lubbock smirked before tugging on all his wires causing them to come together entrapping Zank.
"you know having a good chat can be nice I get that I like chats to."
"how the hell?..."
"simple I set up my wires without you even noticing"
"What! That's impossible I was watching you the whole time!"
"yeaaa but when I was chasing that illusion of Najenda I knew something was up so I played a slight of hand which brings me to my next thing I've noticed you cant use two powers at once and after I figured that out you and that could read minds it was as simple as not thinking about the trap I placed for you."
"argh! Dam you!"
"I think its time I end the tale of Zank The Be header right here and now" Lubb said making a spear out of wire
"I don't think so!" Zank said breaking free
Lubb made a sound of surprise before throwing the spear at Zank he deflected it with ease
"you've played your trick boy but now that I can see where you placed your wires you have nothing"
he slashed Lubbock's stomach throwing the kid down he was able to dodge the short blades but he took a hit there.
"you didn't have enough wire to wrap around your body for protection? Is that right? That's what your mind tells me."
Lubbock got a footing but not before he coughed blood up
"dam..it"
"ooh look at this your still alive that's a surprise well I can rectify that right here you little shit" Zank was a bloody mess he had cuts all over him and he was pissed.
"no you wont.." Zank looked over to the right to see a figure in the dark he could only make out green eyes before the figure walked out of the shadows revealing Tatsumi.
"you aren't laying another finger on wielder-Lubbock"
"so your the dam Teigu I've been hearing so much about..Perfect I could cut your head off as many times as I want."
"well with a warm welcome like that who wouldn't want to fight you"
Zank has cuts all over his body from Lubbock's trick... he's injured so this should be easy.
"you did a good job Wielder-Lubbock but your injured so just let your temporary Teigu take care of it for you."
Lubbock spat out an alarming amount of blood.
"y-yea you go get em Tatsumi…"
He said before falling to his knee's
"wait whats this? I can't read your mind.."
Tatsumi kept a straight face looking at him he had his claws out ready to kill but his teeth weren't changing.
"so what is it? You do have conscious thought do you not?"
"tell me if this thing we call consciousness comes from the brain where do you think mine would come from?" Tatsumi said in a methodical sort of way
"your center of your being...your core."
"correct, I still can send messages to my body from my brain but everything only exists and acts because of my core. I'll spare you the details of what happens when it gets to damaged."
"oh I wouldn't worry about that I'll find that out soon enough when I carve it out of you"
"I wouldn't be to sure about that, A quick scan of this area shows who has favor in this battle... your hurting and have cuts all over your body from Lubbock's Trap your standing awfully sluggishly so I can just imagine how disgraceful you'll look whilst fighting and to make matters even worse your main way of reading my movements is completely lost when fighting me. So in total you won't even be able to find my core before I end your life"
"huh...so tell me you seen lots of destruction in your day what do you do about these voices?"
Tatsumi noticed how quick Zank was to change the subject from what he had just said taking his combat scan and completely dismissing it.
"voices?"
"yes the voices cant you hear them? I started hearing them ever since I started work as an executioner I can hear them begging me to join them in hell you must hear them a lot more since you've existed for so long.. tell me how do you deal with them?"
Tatsumi stared at him for awhile
"so you where always just crazy… I don't hear them at all its just you...Zanku"
"I...see that's disappointing well...Looks like its the end of the road for me...But dam if I'm not dying without a fight."
Tatsumi charged the The be header going for the head only for it to be blocked.
"thing is about your body it's still has muscle mass something I can read very well with spectator" he said launching The Imperial Arms across the court yard
Tatsumi landed gracefully on his feet before immediately launching himself back at Zank going for a hit on his claws.
"oh again with the same move? I'm just going to block it again you kno-Argh" Zank said suddenly coughing up a shit ton of blood.
Tatsumi immediately took advantage of this by slashing his face with his claws. He went for the throat only to be thrown again from Zank this time much weaker he fell to one knee.
"yea but blocking these attacks Is having a huge strain on your body"
"Arg Dam it!"Zank said gripping half his face
"where done here Zank." Tatsumi said approaching him
"not so fast I have on more ace up my sleeve" Zank said
"I have one more sight I can show you who love most its called Foresight."
"prepare to die!" Zank said as his third eye activated
He pointed at Tatsumi before charging him.
He was getting closer and closer to the Green eyed boy.
"Wait watch out Tatsumi!"
Lubbock yelled Before The Teigu Charged back
Zank felt Claws rip straight through his body completely spearing Zank through the heart.
"I told you….It dosint work Headhunter and even if it did You wouldn't have killed me in time before I broke free"
Zank gave a grim smile
"perhaps I was foolish to think a weapon could love anything in this world..."
"perhaps...but nonetheless this fight….IS OVER!" He said taking out his claw and slashing Zank across the throat
He fell to the ground choking on his own blood.
"look at this way...those voices will never bother you again."
The blonde man died right there after only about half a minute of gurgling on his own blood
"Tatsumi…"
Lubbock almost collapsed on the ground but was caught by Tatsumi.
"Don't worry Lubbock-Friend I'm going to help you..your going home"
Lubbock made a faint smile before closing his eyes passing out.
