Chapter Five

It was the day before Kara's birthday, Barry and Caitlin had packed all of their stuff to move into the new house, well Barry did most of the work.

"Ok, that's everything. Now all we need to do is, actually move in." Barry said, packing up the last box.

"So when is Joe gonna get here with the moving van?" Caitlin asked, putting on her shoes.

"Well, he said he was stuck in traffic about an hour ago, so he should be here any minute." And as if on cue there was a knock on the door.

Caitlin opened the door and hugged the older man. "Hey Joe, sorry again for having you drive my stuff over first. Did Wally help like we asked?" Caitlin asked, stepping away from the hug.

"It's no big deal, me and Wally are happy to help." Joe patted Caitlin on the shoulder.

"Pappa Joe!" Kara came out from her room and ran into Joe giving him a hug.

"Hey Kara, are you ready to move into your new house?" Joe hugged back.

"Where's uncle Wally?" Kara asked when she couldn't see him.

"I sent your uncle Wally to get us some lunch." Joe picked up Kara for a bigger hug.

Wally sped in at that moment with six boxes of pizza.

"Hey everyone, I got pizza." Wally put the boxes on the coffee table.

"Uncle Wally!" Karry got down and ran to give Wally a hug.

"How are you doing Kara?" Wally knelt down and gave Kara a big hug.

"I'm ok, did you hear? Barry is my real daddy." Wally looked surprised and looked at Joe but he was as confused as he was.

"Barr..what is she talking about?" Joe asked, wanting an answer.

"W-well." Barry started to rub the back of his neck. "We..um we found out that...in the future I go back in time and end up on her planet." Barry explained not knowing how his adopted father would react. "And I..I'm Kara's biological father." Barry backed up afraid to be shot by Joe.

Joe and Wally stood there shocked. "Called it.. Wally pay up." Wally handed Joe a twenty dollar bill.

After an hour of unpacking and moving furniture around to where Caitlin wanted everything in the new house, Barry started to help Kara decorate her new room.

Kara moved everything to where she wanted. As much as Kara loved her new family she still couldn't help feel alone. She was the only child and she wanted a brother or sister so bad.

"Dad?"

"Yeah, what's up?"

"Well I..I'm really happy that you're my dad, and I can't wait for you and mom to have kids." Barry stood leaning at the doorway. Sure Barry always wanted kids and he has one Kara, but having kids with Caitlin is another story.

'Does she want kids?' Barry thought to himself.

"I..um wow I don't know what to say."

"Don't say anything dad, I know you and mom will have kids."

Barry smiled at his daughter thinking how amazing she is. Barry felt his phone vibrate in his pocket and realized it was Cisco.

"Hey man whats up?"

"Dude you need to get to S.T.A.R Labs now." Cisco ended the call before he could say anything.

"Baby come on." Barry said, reaching out a hand for Kara.

"Cait! Cisco needs us at the lab." Barry said coming down the stairs.

"Coming." Caitlin grabbed her purse and car keys. When Caitlin and Kara were strapped in, Barry decided to speed there.

When Caitlin and Kara walked into the cortex they saw Barry and Cisco talking.

"Ok Cisco, untie her or I don't give you your paycheck." Barry had a white envelope.

"Fine, only because I need the money to pay off my tab at the comic book store." Cisco went to untie a girl around Kara's age, from a chair.

"Cisco, do you mind explaining why you had a child tied to a chair?!" Caitlins eyes turned an icy blue and some of her hair turned platinum blond.

"Oh crap." Cisco looked at her afraid to answer. "I um..I'm afraid to answer that, out of fear of being ice blasted across the room.

Frost was about to shoot ice at him but stopped when a hand grabbed hers, she looked down and saw it was Kara.

Caitlin knelt in front of the girl to see if she was ok. "What's your name?" She asked, grabbing her shoulder.

The girl had short auburn hair almost like a pixie haircut, ripped jeans, old worn out converse, and a faded black pull over. "Alex," the girl finally looked up. "Alex Danvers," Caitlin recognised her last name but she couldn't remember

"Hi Alex, I'm Caitlin, the tall man is Barry, and the one that tied you to the chair is Cisco, don't mind him."

"Where are your parents?"

"I...I don't have any."

"Is there someone we can call?" Caitlin asked, sympathizing with the girl.

"Cait, can you come here for a second."

Barry, Caitlin, and Cisco stood by the entrance. "Cait, she doesn't have anyone, Cisco looked her up and...she was abandoned when she was five days old. She's been in and out of foster homes ever since." Barry looked Caitlin deep in her eyes and they both knew that Alex Danvers would be a part of their lives for a long, long time.

"According to CCFC she's been missing for a year." Cisco showed Caitlin his tablet with the information.

"What was she doing here anyway? And more importantly why was she tied to a chair?!" Caitlin looked at Cisco, eyes glowing blue.

"I will admit I may have overreacted to catching her eating my red vines. In my defense they were the pack that Kamilla got me for my birthday."

"Ok three things, one you've had those since April? Second, is she starving? And third I need to call Cecile." Barry asked concerned for the girl. Caitlin sat in a chair next to alex.

"Alex, are you hungry? I can send Barry to get something to eat for you, anything you want."

Barry walked to the hallway and called Cecile. "Hey Barry what's up?"

"Hey sorry to bother again, but can you pull the name Alex Danvers?"

" Alex Danvers abandoned at five days old snd in and out of homes ever since. Oh say's shes been missing for over a year."

"Not any more. She broke into S.T.A.R Labs."

"Oh um do you want me to go and pick her up?"

"Um..not exactly. We want to adopt her."

"Oh umm alright i'll get the paperwork together then."

Barry Hung up then sped out to get Big Belly burger for everyone and extra fries and ice cream for Kara and Alex.

When everyone was finished eating Cisco had disappeared into his workshop, and Barry and Kara had cleared up the trash. Caitlin looked at Alex thinking how hard it must have been to be out on the streets for a little over a year, and at her age as well.

"Alex? How would you like it if you stayed with us?" Alex was a bit taken back and kind of skeptical of this nice family wanting her to stay with them.

"Why are you guys being so nice to me?" Alex asked, remembering all of the times when she was overlooked or treated badly.

"Well, for starters you're homeless, not to mention a child who's starving, and obviously needs a shower." Caitlin reached out her hand for Alex, which she took after a second of hesitation. Caitlin led her to her car where Kara, and Barry were waiting for them both.

"Where are we going?" Alex asked, with some concern.

"Shopping!" Kara jumped excited.

Barry pulled up the mall and Kara started getting excited again.

"Dad, can we get pot stickers again?" 'How in the hell is this girl still hungry she just ate not that long ago?' Alex wonders.

Soon after they parked, and got Kara her pot stickers they had a lot of stuff for Alex. Alex was a bit curious on how they were able to afford all of this stuff. "Caitlin? How are you able to afford all of this?"

Barry hearing Alex's question stopped and looked at her "Alex? The only thing you need to worry about is what color you want to paint your room."

The Flash family spent some more time in the mall before going home. After the not so long car ride home Barry Takes Alex to her new bedroom.

"So Alex, this is your new bedroom." Alex looks around and everything looks really expensive.

"Barry can I ask why you guys are helping me?" Barry smiles and thinks about it.

"Well Alex, it's really simple actually. Everyone needs a little help every once in a while, even superheroes." "I don't get it, why is he still helping me? I'm a nobody, 'Trash' as most people have put it.'

"But why me?" Barry thinks some more.

"I like to believe that we don't meet people by accident, the people we meet are supposed to cross our path. You were meant to meet us today for a reason. We just don't know what." Barry pated Alex on the shoulder and went to get dinner for the night.

"You know you really hit the jackpot with this family kid."

Alex looked at the doorway to see Caitlin but with platinum blond hair, blue lips and pale skin. "Caitlin? Why do you look...different?"

"Oh...crap! I was supposed to wait till they told you." Kara walking by saw Frost, Kara's eyes went wide.

"Aunt Frost! Mom said to wait till her and dad told her. Dad!"Barry coming down the hallway sees Frost.

"Frost?" Alex was now really confused and wanting to know what the hell was going on. "Kara, can you check on the spaghetti for me?" Kara went to go do what she was asked and Barry pulled Frost into the room and closed the door. Frost retreated back into Caitlins mind and her hair turned back to auburn and some color came back to her skin.

"What the Fuck!" Alex Screamed and moved back onto the bed more, freaked out by what she just saw.

"Language young lady." Barry scolded, Caitlin came to and was kind of confused why frost pulled her out.

"She did what I told her not to do. Great, now we need to explain."

"What the…" Barry looked at Alex and raised an eyebrow. "...heck was that?"

"Alex, we were going to wait to tell you after we adopted you. But I guess now is good." Barry and Caitlin sat on the bed with Alex.

Barry, wanting to explain, opened his mouth but didnt know where to start. " What Barry is trying to say, is that we are metta humans. I have another personality that can use ice powers and Barry…"

"Well I'm pretty sure you've heard of me." Barry pulled out his Flash Ring and showed it to her.

"You're adopting me?" Alex spoke after some time.

"So that's your take away from that...ok." Barry said kind of upset.

"No I heard what you said, it's just...you're adopting me?" Alex started to cry.

Caitlin held Alex while she cried a bit. "Yes we're adopting you, we have someone who is getting the paperwork together, and soon you are going to be a part of our family."

Alex Cried a little while longer, then they headed down to eat dinner then get ready for bed. Alex fell asleep in an actual bed and in a room that was hers and only hers.
