It was mid morning when Rin awoke nuzzled tightly in her lords embrace. One strong arm wrapped around her shoulders, with the other Draped over her chest his hand planted firmly on her over sized belly. She could feel the pups kicking like crazy within her. She wondered if they where reacting to Sesshomaru's touch. Tryin to playfully attack their fathers hand from inside her. Guess it was time to get out of bed. She wondered if she would be able to slink out of her husband's hold with out waking him up. He looked so at ease she didn't want to pull him from his slumber.
"Rin. Where do you think you are going?"
His words catching her off guard as his eyes where still shut. She had barely moved."Tis late morning my lord. I have duties to attend to. If I don't get moving I'll fall behind schedule."
He tightened his hold on his mate holding her head firmly on his bare chest "No. There will be no work for us today. I already sent word out with Emiko. You are on bed rest for the remainder of the morning."
"My lord why didn't you discuss this with me first. There is no need for that." Her voice showing the slightest bit of agitation. He was doing it again. He was treating me like I was going to break. I thought he got over that last night. Maybe it was all he had to drink and now he's back treating me like a child.
"Because I'm not done with you yet" His deep voice showing His longing.
"Oh that's different." Rin's voice softened as she kissed her husband's chest. "will you at least let me freshen up before you take me captive?"
"I'll think about it" a joking smile twitching on his face as he used his best Stern voice.
Rin playfully slapped his arms as she pulled her self from his strong grasp but no sooner had she sat on the edge of the bed did his strong hands take her by the waist, with an evil growl in her ear.
"My lady … I don't believe I gave you permission to take your leave did I? And with assaulting your lord . Seems you left me little choice but to punish you." Sesshomaru's growls sending shivers down Rin's spine though she wanted to play as if he didn't have complete power over her.
"I think my lord wishes me not to bathe" Rin giggled resting her back on his chest. Falling deeper in his embrace.
"Mmmhm what ever would give you that idea My Mate" he let his hands run over her body. tracing up and down her sides as he nibbled at his newly reopened claim mark. However he couldn't deny he preferred her in their mixed scent.He preferred her marked in every way that would identify her as his and his alone. Her body shifted and tightened under his touch. He was going to enjoy teasing her.
"My lord…. I need.. need , kagome." Rin groaned
"Come again?" Sesshomaru's head went straight up in insulting disbelief. He must have misheard her.
"My Lord I need priestess Kagome!, I think the pups are coming!" She looked like she was in grate pain. Sesshomaru's eyes went wide when the realization of what was occurring hit him in it's entirety. With lightning speed he jumped from the bed making his way to the door.
"My lord!! Put on your clothes!!" Rin shouted after him.

You dare deny me, Sesshomaru entry in to my own bed chamber?" Sesshomaru snarled at his mother outside his chamber door. He could hear Rin inside crying out in pain. He needed to be at her side too quell her anguish.
"As long as the birth is in progress you, nor any other male shall enter. This is the way it has always been done my son"
sesshomaru had enough of this. Rin needed him and he would not allows Some barbaric custom to force her to suffer alone. "As lord of the western lands and of this palace I do not bow down to customary foolishness. Now allow me to pass"
"And as mother of The Grate Lord I can assure you , you were born with a male appendage. One that will be removed from you if you try to enter the birthing room before you are summoned. I suggest you calm yourself sesshomaru and take your seat. It shouldn't be much longer now." Inukimi turned on her heels squeezing herself in to the open crack of the door before shutting it behind her. Leaving Sesshomaru grumbling under his breath alone in the hallway with Inuyasha who was sitting crossed legged on the floor with his head pressed against the wall.
"That didn't work the last 3 times you tried it, what made you think they would let you in now?" Inuyasha watched as Sesshomaru started pacing again. Stopping and looking at the closed door every time Rin yelled out. "seriously will you calm down. She hasn't been in there that long. These things normally take all night."
A loud scream came from the birthing room.
"You expect me to endure Rin in agony all night with out intervening" Sesshomaru snipped at Inuyasha. Growing ever more frustrated at the feeling of being powerless to comfort his mate.
"Look Kagome knows what she is doing. There is not a damn thing you can do to 'intervene' that would be helpful right now. So Just sit down already. All your stumping back and forth is killing my ears." Inuyasha huffed
Letting out a aggravated breath Sesshomaru took his seat by his half brother pushing down his emotions and finding his center.
"Hey look at the bright side. At least we didn't have to clean up that room." Inuyasha tried to lighten the mood but to no avail. Sesshomaru didn't even react like he herd him. They sat with out a word for a long time waiting for any sound indicating the pups had arrived.
The sound of Rin's scream came once more. The words she yelled made Sesshomaru's eyes snap to the door. "What did she just say? She's not going to let me touch her again?"
"Seems it's your wife that's going to cut you off" Inuyasha gave his own joke a smile but it seemed his brother didn't see it as a joke. "look Nothing a woman says during birthing means anything. The women in the village yell the same thing. Then the next thing you know there pregnant again."
There was to much movement in the room next to them that is was hard to pick up on anything other then Rin yells of distress. He could hear kagome instructing Rin. Could barely make out his mother trying to sooth her. He worried if her body was able to deliver the twins. It was hard enough on most humans to carry a half demon. But to have his human wife carrying two full Daiyokai pups. He worried that his mother's word of Rin's extended life may not hold true to the task before her. If anything happened to his pups during birth Tenseiga was within a moments reach. But Rin. His sweet Rin she would be out of Tenseiga's power to save. Sesshomaru made up his mind. If anything happened to Rin he would kill them all. His mother included for keeping them apart. Rin's screams are silent. Why is she silent?
The door opened to a servant walking to face them stone faced. Both brothers jumped to their feet out of fear of what was going to come from the servants lips. She walked so slow keeping her eyes to the floor as she bowed her head deep at them both. "Lord Sesshomaru, Master Inuyasha. . The Fair lady has completed the birth. You both may enter now."
Sesshomaru couldn't read his servants face which lead him to be very unsettled. "My pups?,My wife? They fair fine?"
Before the servant could respond to her lord, Inuyasha gave his older brother a shove on the back " geez Sesshomaru you've been scratching to get in the door all night. Now the door is finally open for you, you stop to interrogate the handmade.? Move your ass and go see for yourself"
In any other instance he would have pelted his younger brother for the blatant disrespect but he was right. Rin awaited him. there was no time for such foolishness. Pushing past his brother Sesshomaru entered his bed chamber uncertain of what would befall his eyes. He feared for the worst.
Taking in the room around him Rin lay on the floor on the birthing mat. Kagome who was kneeling beside her stood when he entered and walked to the back of the room. But there where no pups in sight. Just as his mind started to fear for the worst, a small yip caught his ears. he turned suddenly to see Inukimi entering the room from the bath house. Two very small puppies in her arms. Inukimi's overwhelmingly Joyous smile gleamed at her son. She spoke softly to her grandpups "Now, now that wasn't so bad. Now that your all clean you can meet your father. He's been waiting along time to meet you. . Yes I know puppies I know.. don't worry grandma-Kimi isn't going far." She cooed as she placed the pups every so softly in to her sons arms." congratulations my son seems you finally did something worth doing..You have a healthy son and daughter"
Sesshomaru's face was baffled as he looked down at the tiny little fur balls in his arms. One as white as snow, The other silver as the moon. Both with a violet crescent moon in the center of their foreheads and the slightest sliver of a double lined violet face markings on each cheek. The pups pawed at him blindly yipping away and Sesshomaru couldn't take his eyes off of them. He found his way to his mates side falling to his knees beside her reaching down to take her face in his hand. Rubbing his thumb on her cheek.
Rin smiled in to her mates loving touch, meeting his eyes showing all her love for him as she raised her hand to cup his. "My lord."
"I'm sorry you had to suffer my Rin. Forgive me." Sesshomaru could feel the pups little teeth nipping at his hair. He looked down upon them and got lost again. "They are beautiful. Just like you." He spoke so softly.
"It wasn't as bad as it sounded My lord. I'm sorry if I worried you" Rin reached up running a finger behind the ear of one of the pups. "What shall we name them my lord?"
Placing the White furred female pup in to Rin's arms "she will be known as Misaki, after her mother's deep love of flowers"
"Beautiful Bloom" Rin whispered as she smiled down at her pup who was nuzzled down at her side between her arm and torso, already on the path to slumber. She glanced at her silver furred pup in her husbands arms "I would like to name our son IchiroSachi if my lord will allow."
"First son, descendent of the sun god." Sesshomaru nodded his head in approval taking Rin's hand in his and bringing it to his lips. Softly kissing the back.
He had forgotten there was anyone else in the room all he could focus on was his family. He's beautiful wife and their pups that she had brought in to this world. Never did he ever think this is where his path would lead him. At this point Inukimi had silently taken her leave pushing all the servants out with her. Leaving Inuyasha and kagome to remain.
"Sesshomaru you will find mixed herbs by your bed side. Rin must drink them upon waking and sleep for the next 3 days to prevent infection. It's best she stays off her feet in that time.do you need help moving her to the bed?" Kagome spoke softly to her brother inlaw. His eyes fallowing where she spoke to take a mental note.
"No I can manage just fine. What is that Large basket pressed against the bed?" Sesshomaru pointed with a movement of his nose to the gold plated woven bamboo, bed height basket lined with silk silver padding.
"Oh in my time we call it a bassinet. It's a baby bed for the pups for when they are still very small. I hope you don't mind but your mother said I could employ the palace craftsmen to build it when we where here for the wedding. I wanted to get you both something for the pups. And it seemed you had everything else you could possibly need." Kagome spoke sheepishly.
Sesshomaru retrieved Misaki in to his arms. Rising to his feet so softly as not to awaken the sleeping pups he held.he walked over to the basket examining it for a moment before placing the pups on the soft padding with ease trying not to wake them. They shifted in there sleep to nuzzle in to each other forming one big fur ball in the center of the bassinet. Sesshomaru couldn't help studying these small little things. How perfect they were. So small. He couldn't believe they where made from him and his mate.
Kagome came to stand by Sesshomaru's side Wrapping her arms around him in a tight hold, that first made Sesshomaru stiff being caught of Guard "congratulations Big brother"
From across the room Inuyasha's mouth fell open and eyes almost popped out of his head not only was his wife hugging Sesshomaru but he was letting her and it seemed he was hugging her back "kagome what the hell do you think you are doing. That's just really wrong."
With one arm returning her embrace. Sesshomaru smiled down at her. She was probably the only human other then his wife he was fond of. More then not it was because she reminded him so much of Rin. She was the only other person that never had fear of him. Showing repeatedly in the constant liberties she took that no other would have dared. He owed this woman so much. For looking after Rin all those years in the village. And now in bringing his pups in to this world healthy and strong. He knew that's Rin's safe birth was in large part thanks to the priestess before him. "Thank you sister."
"I'll come check on Rin in the morning. But if you need anything I'm just a call away." Kagome gave one last heart filled smile to her brother inlaw and Rin before walking out the bedroom door Inuyasha at her heels closing the door behind him.
Sesshomaru returned to his wife's side, Scooping her in his arms before bringing her to the bed. She looked so small in his arms compared to her size just this morning.
Her eyes though so tired shined up at him with the light of the brightest star. Showing her deep devotion to him in her gaze as he tucked her in nearest the pups before bringing himself to lay on her opposite side. Sesshomaru pulled Rin's back tightly in to his chest placing a soft kiss on the top of her head as they both dreamily fell to their own slumber watching the pups sleep in the basket beside them.
