Hours Later
In the morning
Brooke walked inside the home feeling as if she just floating on clouds and pure adrenaline. She hadn't done that in far too long. Spent hours with a man on a date who's company she enjoyed.
"Brooke Penelope Davis! Where have you been.? I call. I text. I almost reached out to Ted and Victoria." Peyton exclaimed. Staring hard at her best friend.
Brooke shut the door behind herself and kicked off her heels in the entryway.
"I told you i went on the date Lucas had brought up when he invited me to lunch. That's where i've been since last night. We had dinner on this rooftop. The view was looked so handsome. We talked for hours. And kissed for awhile. I like him Peyton. Alot." Brooke gushed.
The expression on the blond's face softened. Peyton could tell just by the tone and expression on Brooke's face that something was different with this guy.
"Let's have breakfast and talk about it. Give me all the dirty details." Peyton replied.
"I need to shower and change my clothes. Then i'll come down and we can talk." Brooke announced.
"You take you're time. I actually have my own news to share with you so i'll be here. The studio can wait." Peyton replied.
Brooke nodded her head in agreement. Turned and went up the stairs.
...
Brooke took off her . Panties. Wrapped herself in a towel.
She took out the clip from her hair. And went into the bathroom. She turned on the water and got inside the shower. Lathering herself up with soap and getting consumed in the heat and the memories that were flooding her mind.
Brooke touched her lips. Still recalling the feeling of his lips pressed against hers. The way there was no battle for dominance. It was more like a dance. That she fully allowed herself to get swept up in.
By the time she left the shower. The water was cold. But her thoughts were laser focused on Lucas and when she would see him again. Their next date was up to her to plan and reach out to him about.
Brooke put on a simple black tee shirt with the Clothes over bros logo spelled out on the front in jewels and purple leggings.
Her face was freshly washed. She would reopen the store tommorow she needed a break today to recharge.
Walking back downstairs. She was surprised to see Jake awaiting her in the entryway.
"Where's Peyton.?" Brooke asked. Unsure why he was here.
"She's in the kitchen. I took a chance just coming over here. But i had to show you and i wanted you to be the first person to know that. I'm going to promise to Peyton. We've been doing this long distance relationship thing since high school."
"Now that i'm back in town and not going anywhere. I'm ready to make things official. For her and I to build a life together. I spoke with Larry. He's on his boat trips for business for months on end. So i want to know what you think. You're the most important person in Peyton's life."
"I need to know if you support this happening or not.?" Jake asked.
"Of course! I love you and i love the couple you and Peyton are together. She will say yes. If it was up to her. The two of you would of been married in high school. I couldn't be happier for the two of you." Brooke replied.
"What are the two of you whispering about.?" Peyton asked. Smiling as she joined hrer best friend and boyfriend.
"Fashion. I'm thinking about starting a Mens line and was just asking Jake if he thought men would actually buy it." Brooke replied.
"I won't get in the way of girl talk between the two of you. See you later. Thanks for letting me stop by Brooke." Jake announced.
"Anytime Jake." Brooke replied.
Peyton kissed him goodbye then locked arms with Brooke.
Leading the way towards the kitchen.
"I got cinnamon buns and coffee. So spill girl. How was the date.?" Peyton asked.
Brooke took a large bite of her cinnamon bun. Then took a long sip of coffee.
"The date was one of the greatest first dates i've ever had. The food was amazing. The conversation was ongoing. The only reason we stopped talking is because he had to go home to his kids." Brooke revealed.
Peyton's eyes went wide. "He's a father! That didn't show up when i googled him." She replied.
"I told you not to do that. And yes he is. He keeps that information very private. He has twin boys. Larry and Leo. He's a single parent." Brooke stated.
"That's alot of baggage. Where's the mother.?" Peyton asked.
"I have my own baggage that he knows all about. There is no judgement on either side. Their mother died when they were too young to even remember her. She had addiction issues and was unable to dig herself out. It's been him raising them on his own ever since." Brooke replied.
"And there are no dirty details. We only ever kissed. Which blew my mind. I'm looking forward to seeing him again. It's on me to plan our next date."
"Now what do you have to tell me.?" Brooke asked.
"I think Jake is cheating on me or wants to break up. He's been acting weird. All last night. I'm freaking out." Peyton confessed.
"Let me reassure you. Jake has never been more in love with you. Trust and believe in that. I have to head over to the store. That studio of yours needs you. Call me tommorow." Brooke announced. Hugging Peyton tightly before she left.
...
Days Later
Lucas looked out at the riving water in front of him. Then gazed over at Brooke.
"You're text about wearing less is more makes alot more sense now" Lucas said.
"The beach is my escape. The sand, sun, water. I figured i would share some of my world since during our last date. You shared some of yours. I made a picnic for us to eat. Which will be safely tucked away on this table."
"Want to jump right into the water or take a walk around the beach.?" Brooke asked.
Lucas smiled happily grabbing ahold of her hand in his. As the pair ran straight into the waves.
Cool water surrounding them.
When she kissed him. She realized now what was beginning to brew inside of herself whenever he was near. This wasn't two attractive people. Who were into each other.
There was something more here. Pulling them together. Like magnets unable to be seperated.
Lucas kissed her back. Pulling her closer to him.
It was him who pulled away first. Caressing her face with his hand.
"I like you and i want to know everything about you." Lucas confessed.
"Me too. I like you so much. And that's new for me. It's terrifying." Brooke replied.
Taking a breath as she lead the way over to the seating area where their lunch was waiting.
They sat across from each other. Brooke opened the basket and started to explain what she had packed.
"Sandwiches, sides, drinks, dessert."
"Why did you become a writer.? Brooke asked.
"I would of followed my dreams of doing basketball. But me being diagnosed with HCM changed everything. Too much risk. So i ended up turning my hobby of writing into a about you.? The fashion industry." Lucas replied.
"I love clothes i have since i was a kid. But truthfully it was the only way my mom and I spent any time together. I stuck with it all these years out of my passion for it. And it being the strongest tie i have to having a real relationship with my parents. Saying that out loud sounds really pathetic." Brooke admitted.
Lucas took ahold of her hand in his.
"It was the truth and i appreciate you being so open with me. I did my fair share of things to try and gain my biological father's love and approval eventually it got to a point where i had to let him go. His rejection was turning me into a stranger. Causing me to hate myself and retreat into a darkness i found comfort in.I get it trust me." Lucas replied.
Brooke leaned over kissing him softly.
As the two ate and gazed out at the beach in front of them.
"We might as well get the ex conversation out of the way." Brooke announced.
While Lucas was unwrapping his dessert.
"I married Felix after high school. I met him when my parents lost all their money. He sweeped me off my feet. It was lust more then anything else. Then at 21 there was Julian. I thought that would stick. But it didn't he's re married now living in LA with a singer named Alex Dupree. They had triplets 6 months ago." Brooke said. Looking away swallowing hard.
"Hey where did you go.?" Lucas asked. His voice soft and full of concern.
"Our marriage ended because he revealed to her. That i was infertile. When i found out i was shocked. I just figured i would be able to have a family like most women. When i told Victoria. My mom. She looked at me and said."
"Brooke this a blessing. You won't have to sacrifice you're career or you're personal life. With the world at you're feet why tie yourself done with children who will only drain you and leave you full of regret. Consider yourself lucky." Brooke said. The emotion in her voice thick.
"I'm sorry." Lucas said. Finding himself at a loss for words.
Brooke stared back at him. "She's probably right. Cold and disconnected is the Davis way afterall."
"You're turn. Exes." Brooke insisted.
"There was Lindsey. Anna. After those ended i just involve myself casually. I have a rule about no woman i date meeting my sons until we've been together at least 6 months. No woman has met my boys yet." Lucas replied.
"Maybe we were destined to meet and for me to bypass those 6 months. Time for our walk on the beach." Brooke announced.
The two walked around taking in the large landscape once Brooke entered the cave. Lucas followed her.
"My favorite place. So private. No one around for miles." Brooke proclaimed.
It was then that Lucas wrapped his arms arounds her.
Brooke clung to him. Savoring the warm embrace.
He kissed her softly. Then kissed her harder. As she pulled him closer to her.
The two falling down onto the large blanket. Brooke already had placed there.
Lucas found himself unable to fight the urge to explore her. He wanted to know her from the outside in.
He placed kisses on her lips then her neck.
He ran his fingers through her hair. The aroma of strawberry shampoo filling his nose.
Lucas gently pulled down one bathing suit strap then the other kissing both bare shoulder blades.
Brooke gasped. Biting her lip. Feeling her eyes shut closed.
"Lucas! Yes! Touch me!" She moaned. Staring back at him.
He leaned down kissing her lips softly.
As he reached behind her. Undoing then pulling off her bathing suit top.
His eyes focused on her chest. He leaned down. Kissing the space between them.
Which caused Brooke to shutter.
Feeling her heart race. And the ache between her legs grow.
"I want to make you feel loved. Wanted. Safe. To not only bring pleasure to you're body. But to cherish it. Every part of you. I want you're heart Brooke." Lucas whispered in her ear.
Brooke could only cup his face in her hands and kiss him hard. To keep herself from breaking down in tears.
She laid him on him back and straddled his waist.
Lifting his hands above his head. As she kissed his bare chest furiously.
"I want you so bad. To feel you're body on mine."
"You're hot breath on my neck. You're caressing my body."
"To make me yours in every way." Brooke admitted. Between kisses.
But she knew from his whispered words. Sex for him mattered it was an expression of true feelings. Not something to do to pass the time.
"I want that too. But before that can happen we have to let each other in.I'm already letting you in. Yet i can feel you holding back from me. When you're ready to completely expose yourself yourself to me emotionally. Give me you're heart like i'm giving you mine. Then we'll make love. Until then i want to enjoy learning about you." Lucas stated.
Brooke nodded her head in agreement.
Letting him wrap his arms around her once she put on back her top. He just held her close.
Brooke laid her head on his chest and cried silent tears.
He was seeing right through her. She was holding back from him.
