"Wait, part 1?!"

yeah, I ended up breaking it up to two chapters.

Have you been reading memes again-

"To the story!"

Chapter 5

"So Danny, since you're a fairy, does that mean that you can grant wishes? Like, for example, poof up the latest PDA-"

"No Tucker; I don't have magic."

"Aww man! What's the point of having a friend that's a fairy if they can't do magic?" Danny rolled his eyes at his friend's comment.

Pretty soon, the speeder reached Amity Park. The ship then flew towards FentonWorks: the residence of the Fenton family and, only known to those on the ship, Amity Park's own hero: Danny Phantom.

"Danny, a spaceship has crashed into your house!"

"Uh, no. That belongs there," Jazz said.

"You deliberately have a spaceship crashed into your house?"

"That's the Ops Center, Mr. Cosmo. It can turn into a dirigible or a jet-ship," Jazz explained.

"What's a 'dirigible'?" Asked Timmy.

"She means a blimp," Tucker replied to the small boy.

"Then why not say 'blimp' like everyone else? It sounds easier."

"I like it, it's much better than doing the mainstream way. It's better to be unique," came Sam's comment.

"So in order to be seen as unique, you'll do everything the hard way?" Timmy asked, genuinely baffled.

Danny pulled the younger boy away before Sam could say anything. The question looked like it had gotten to her. He took a look at the house.

"Looks like Mom and Dad aren't back yet."

Jazz had called their parents to let them know they had found Danny and were headed back home. They were driving frantically throughout the town looking for Danny, as he was not able to answer his phone and it was getting late, when they got Jazz's call. They bombarded their eldest daughter with questions. She simply answered that "It would be better to explain to you in person." During the ride to FentonWorks, they had went over what to tell the Fenton parents and what to leave out in the story.

While Jazz returned the borrowed speeder and equipment to where they belonged as Danny led the rest of the group into the house. They ended up in the living room, most of everyone claiming a seat. Danny, who still had the box with mementos, started up to his room.

"I'll be right back; I just want to put this away."

"Can I come?" Timmy asked in a pleading tone.

"Sure, why not?"

Both boys entered Danny's room, Timmy looking around as Danny went to stash the box somewhere safe (he constantly deals with the Box Ghost; he needed to ensure this box stayed safe). The room had the standard teenager look. A Bed, dressers, closet, and a desk with a computer for homework and games. Posters of various rockets and satellites used by NASA decorated the walls. Shelves held model rockets and other items of interest to Danny. 'Yep, definitely loves space'. There were pictures of his family and friends.

Timmy snapped to attention when he saw his godbrother pull out from under his bed an interesting looking silver and green case. Popping it open, he tucked the blue box into the case. Other things that were inside: a thermos like the one he used when Timmy first saw him, a first aid kit (a really big one), an extra change of clothes, a roll of cash, some photos of his family and friends, a package of batteries, a flashlight, radio (probably ghost-proof), some energy bars, what probably was some ghost weapons for defense, and various other items that looked to be important.

"What is that?" Inquired the pink capped boy.

"An emergency pack of sorts: I keep some of my important things in this case. You can never be too careful. It's ghost-proof, so none of my enemies can mess with it. I'm tucking the box in it for now," Danny explained as Timmy nodded along with interest. A thought appeared in the small boy's head.

"I've got a question: how exactly does your transformation work?" Timmy asked as headed back down the stairs.

"Hmmm, give me a moment... So I have my ghostly energy. When I go into my phantom form, my ghostly energy moves to surround my body. Think of it like armor in a sense. That form is super durable, but I can still get injured. The smaller cuts ooze out ectoplasm- what ghosts are made of and what gives them powers-, but the deeper ones that manage to reach my human side will have my blood and ectoplasm. Those kinds of injuries would still be on me when I change back. Thank goodness my powers also give me awesome healing; I heal almost instantly and it leaves no traces whatsoever."

"What about back at the fairy prison? You changed back when you were knocked out."

"I revert back when I'm drained of energy. My most powerful attack, the Ghostly Wail, leaves me completely depleted of energy; that's why I only use that power in emergencies. I also change back when I lose consciousness; maybe it's difficult for my body to maintain my Phantom form when I'm asleep? It's kinda hard to explain."

"Either way, that's pretty cool..."

Both boys end up back in the living room. Jazz had brought refreshments for everyone; Tucker and Cosmo were helping themselves to the lemonade and cookies. Wanda had poofed up a stack of photos and was sorting through them as she talked to Jazz and Sam.

"...So you are pulling out some of the photos that you have of Danny when he was little?"

"And ones of all of us. I'm getting the most 'normal' looking pictures to show off. As an extra measure, I'm placing enchantments on them to hide anything magical to anyone that isn't us," Wanda explain as she rifled through the pictures. "To your parents, they'll see Cosmo and I in the photos as how you see us now."

"Aww! Danny, you look so cute in this one!" cooed the girls.

Ignoring Tucker's silent but visible chuckles, Danny peered over to look at the photos. The one the girls were gushing over had him on a swing at a playground, hanging upside down with a huge grin on his face. Another one showed him building a tower out of blocks. One was him drawing on a sleeping Cosmo's face with markers. A larger version of the locket's photo was found in the stack.

"There's some great ones over here," Timmy said, looking at some of the ones that were put aside. These ones had things that weren't what you would usually see; Floating cupcakes, Santa and his elves with a couple of flying reindeer, a unicorn ("HAHAHAHA!" "Shut up Tuck!"), and other oddities.

Wanda, after she had pulled out the pictures she had wanted, poofed the rest away and began to chat with Jazz. Danny pulled out some video games for the rest of the group. Not five minutes pass when the sound of tires screeching reached the ears of those inside the house. Just then the door busts open and both Fenton parents charge in.

"Danny! Where were you? We were so worried sweetie!" Cried his mother as she pulled Danny into an embrace.

"Dann-o, was it ghosts? Did those ecto-punks do anything to you?" Jack Fenton, in his usual manner, inquired his son.

"I'm okay Mom, really. Yes Dad, part of the reason I was gone for so long was 'ghosts'. I didn't get hurt, but my phone broke during the chaos in town; that's why I couldn't call you guys."

As both parents collected themselves, they finally noticed the guests in the living room.

"Danny, who's that?"

Danny took a deep breath. 'Here we go.'

"That is the other reason I was gone for most of the day. I ended up getting dragged of to the outskirts of town before I could slip away from the ghosts. I started my way back when I ran into a couple and their godson. It turns out they... Uh, were looking for- um, someone that had gone- and- erm... they had ended up here... and, hehe- well..."

"Danny, what are you trying to say?"

Danny rubbed the back of his neck. "Um... Mom, Dad... They had come looking for someone that has been missing for a long time... about ten years ago... a young boy..." Danny drew out the sentence to clue in his parents on what he was trying to tell them. "...their son..." The pieces clicked, realization dawned on his parents' faces.

"Danny... are you saying..."

Cosmo and Wanda chose this moment to walk up to the Fentons. After a long moment of silence, Cosmo was the one to speak up; a serious, focused look rarely seen adorned on the fairy's face.

"I'm Cosmo, and this is my wife Wanda with our godson Timmy. Ten years ago a rival of ours had kidnapped our son. While he was apprehended, our son had simply vanished."

"We searched all over for him, but couldn't find any trace of him," Wanda continued for Cosmo. "Ten long years and we had nearly given up. That was until some new evidence had been pulled up, directing us to here; Amity Park. We ran into your son, who was kind enough to show us around. We had introduced ourselves to him and explained that we were looking for someone dear to us. Imagine to our surprise when he introduced himself... because he has the same name as as our missing little boy; 'Danny'..."

"Insert pregnant pause here".

"So you're Danny's real parents," Maddie said softly.

...

"Hey, you can't just cut off like that!"

Actually, I can.

Meanwhile, somewhere else...

"Time to wish the little badger a happy birthday."

~~~Line Break~~~
The party went underway. Cosmo had joined Jack in the backyard to run the grill while the two mothers and Jazz bustled in the kitchen gathering the needed tableware. Danny had offered to help, but was told "It's your special day; go enjoy yourself with your friends." With that, the trio of friends and Timmy spent their time chatting and playing video games.
"I'm glad to see that Timmy and Danny get along," Jazz said, watching the two boys bicker playfully over who gets what character.
"Timmy is an only child; he always wanted a brother to do things with," Wanda said, carrying a stack of plates to the table.
Maddie smiled at that. "So what do you and Cosmo do for a living?"
"Both Cosmo and I are social workers; we specialize with children." That is sort of the truth. "Well, I do most of the work. Cosmo on the other hand... He-"
Yelling erupts from the backyard, something about shrubs and "get the hose!" The three ladies shake their heads.
"It seems both our husbands have something in common," Maddie chuckled.
"Cosmo means well," Wanda said, shaking her head at her husbands antics. "He may be a bit of a klutz and tends to be a bit scatter-minded; but he is always by my side, and I will always love him for that."
"He sounds a bit like Dad; a regular butterfingers and can be oblivious, but is still great."
Both Jack and Cosmo enter the house, somewhat sooty, carrying the trays of grilled food.
"Good news Mads: the grub is ready!" Jack beamed wide. "The bad news: you'll be needing new rose bushes. Who knew those would make so much smoke."
"Don't worry! We'll get them replaced!" Cosmo added, beaming just as big as Jack.
Dinner is then underway: a special picnic loaf (containing grilled eggplant, bell peppers, and zucchini with pesto, garlic, basil, and fresh mozzarella), hamburger and hot dogs for the non-vegetarians, salad, chips, and sodas. Wanda had pulled out the photos and was showing the Fenton parents as they ate. As both moms swapped stories, there came a knock at the door.
"Who could that be?" Jack wondered.
"I'm certainly not expecting anyone over," Mrs. Fenton said. "Danny, did you invite anybody else that we weren't aware of?"
"No, the only people I had invited over- friend wise- were Sam and Tucker."
"Well can you see who is at the door?"
Danny walked over to the door. Pulling it open, he was surprised to see this person.
Standing at the door, with a wrapped box in her hands, was a dark-skinned girl around Danny's age. Her sea-green eyes twinkled at the halfa's surprise.
"Val?! I thought you had to work an extra shift tonight," Danny exclaimed as he looked to the young woman in front of him. The ghost hunter determined for defeat Phantom, friend to Danny Fenton, and ex-girlfriend; Valerie Gray.
"Happy birthday Danny," Valerie said handing him the present. "I'm actually on break and I wanted to drop by to surprise you."
"Well you accomplished that, thank you! Do you want to join us for dinner?"
"I don't want to intrude-"
"Why of course you can join us! The more the merrier!" Maddie called out to Valerie.
...
To say Val was shocked to hear that Danny was adopted was to say the sky was blue. The teens and ten-year old snickered at her wide eyes and gaping mouth, an awesome imitation of a blowfish. Wanda was more than happy to answer her questions and show her the photos ("Hehe-" "Tucker, you keep quiet or else...").
After the dinner and saying goodbye to Valerie ("Nice meeting you all and thanks for having me over for dinner. Happy birthday Danny!"), Mr. and Mrs. Fenton pulled out a stack of board games and a large karaoke machine.
"Karaoke!? I LOVE KARAOKE!"
"What should we do first?"
...
"Jazz, that block is stuck tight. There is no way you can pull it out without knocking the whole tower over."
"Shush Sam, don't distract me... HA! I did it! Still doubt me little miss doubt-y pants?"
"Jazz, you still need to work on your witty banter."
"Shush Danny."
...
"Person, place, or thing?"
"Person."
"Male or female."
"Male."
"Alive or dead?"
"Alive"
"Famous-real, fictional, or someone we know personally."
"Eh, Famous in a sense. Not as famous as his partner; quite a shame."
"Does he live in the states, or in a different country?"
"Different country; think Europe."
"Hmmmm, it could be anyone..."
"I didn't think you would know about anyone famous outside the states, Dann-o."
"What do you mean? Of course I would know of people and events outside of the US. Especially this guy! He's sort of a role model of mine."
"Hmm, then this person must work on astrology or something."
"Hey, not everything I like is exclusively related to space."
"Come on everyone, think! Who could Danny be thinking of..."
"Has this person been to space?"
"Yes, once. Though it probably wasn't part of the job description. Can you imagine: 'Superhero(es) wanted: needs to lift over 500 lbs, fight bad guys, and occasionally go into space. Knowledge of engineering, fluency in multiple languages, and witty banter a bonus."
"So this guy's a super. Quick: what hero could he be thinking of?"
"It can't be Batman or Iron-Man: even though they're his favorite heroes, both live here in the US."
"They're your favorites Tuck. Mine are more of Superman, Frozone, the Flash... and the one guy you can't seem to guess."
"Does he have flight?"
"Nope."
"Does he have laser vision?"
"No, but his powers can be destructive. Imagine if a villain had that kind of power, it would be a catastrophe..."
"No..." whispered Jazz as it started to dawn on her who it might be.
"Does he live in England?"
"Nope."
"Does he wear bright colors?"
"No, he wears all black. Purrfect for stealthy missions."
"..."
"..."
"...Are there butterflies involved?"
"It's a pawsibility..."
"*groans* Of course it's that guy!"
"What? I think his puns are the cat's meow!"
*more groans from the room*
...
"Wow Cosmo, Wanda; you were awesome during that song!"
"Thank you Jazz, we've had practice."
"Looks like great singing voices run in the family."
"Be quiet Jazz..."
"Okay; the songs we've done were Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin, (I Wanna Be) Like Other Girls by Atomic Kitten, Quit Playing Games With My Head by The Oh Boyz ("Seriously Tucker?"), Another One Bites The Dust and We Are The Champions by Queen, How the Feuding Hurts by Jonah Wizard ("I still can't believe you listen to that trash Sis"), No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem by Kenny Chesney, and If I Never Knew You from the movie 'Pocahontas'... What song is next?"
"How about we get Danny to sing some mushy song?"
"Timmy, HOW COULD YOU SUGGEST SUCH A THING?!"
*giggles*
"You guys have better not be corrupting my new brother..."
"Relax D, it won't be too bad... Ooh! Maybe you can sing Let Me Be Your Wings by Barry Manilow!"
"Tuck is right. You'll do amazing at that song!"
"I hate you guys..."
"Kids, that is enough. How about we do one together?"
"Good idea, which one though?"
"How about Everything Is AWESOME from 'The Lego Movie'?"
"Perfect!"
"Yeah! But Danny has to do a solo afterwards."
"Really Jazz? You too?!"
"Don't be bashful, you are so talented Sweetie. I'm surprised the girls at your school haven't swarmed you yet."
"Mom..."
"I'm surprised to hear that too. He's such a good looking-"
"MOM! erm- Both moms, please stop."
Snickers arise from the other youth as a blushing Danny glares daggers at them.
"Sorry Danny, but it's the truth-"
"The youth of today are distracted by the notions of popularity and what the world today deems as 'attractive' or 'worth the time'. All those young ladies are very likely so caught up with trying to date the tall, muscular, popular boys that they miss the ones that would treat them with love, concern, and respect. By the time they realize who is actually worth getting to know and have a relationship with, those people will already be married happily while the teens that had ignored the 'nice guys' are dealing with heart break and losing relationships. Their loss; that's self-inflicted".
Everyone stared in shock at Cosmo, who was once again his obvious self, munching on chips.
...
"Almost got it..."
*CRASH*
"No! Why did you do that Timmy?!"
"Hehehehe! Sorry, but not sorry!"
"Getting your butt handed to you by a ten-year old, so sad Tucker..."
"Whatever, I'll get him back in the next round!"
...
"Several rounds later, and you still lose to a ten-year old..."
Tucker grumbles unintelligently.
"And to think he is at least acting more mature than you."
"It's not fair! He has Danny coaching him!"
"You have learned well pupil..." Danny pats Timmy on the head.
...
*In a pirate accent* "Arrgh, the card says 'to examine everyone's earlobes and declare who has the nicest-looking ones'," Danny read out loud. He currently has his arms stuck to his sides.
"I pity da fool who has to get the next curse card," Jack said, while flailing his arms around his face, "this is getting confusing."
"*chsh* I'm an expert at confusing situations, over *chsh*" chirped Cosmo in a high-pitched voice. He currently has his hands stuck to his head.
"Hmmm... yes, It be Sam who be having the nicest ears on the seven seas."
"I hope zat you are not zaying that because you have a crush on her, bleh, bleh, bleh," Timmy, in his best vampire voice, cheekily said. This causes Danny's eyes to widen in shock.
"What, NO! I don't have a crush on her, I just picked someone at random!-"
*DING, DING, DING* "CURSEBREAKER!"
Everyone tries to hold in their laughter as an annoyed Danny glares at the group around the table.
"You guys are corrupting him..." Danny muttered and pointing at his friends, hands still at his sides.
"Call it payback for all the cat puns," Sam said with a smirk.
"I'm going to mop the floor with you all; you're toast!"
"Mmmm, that sounds delicious!" Jazz exclaimed.
Everyone bursts out laughing.
Against all odds, Danny did win the game.
...
There came a knock at the door as they were cleaning up a game called "Mille Bornes"; a French card game where you are trying to travel the farthest distance while overcoming road obstacles and sabotaging the other players ("Why did you give me and Sam all the obstacles?!"). Everyone shot each other questioning looks; they weren't expecting anybody.
Danny once again answered the door. He let out a small gasp in shock as he recognized who it was.
"There's my GRANDBABY!" Came a call of joy as a short, stout lady pulled Danny into a bone-jarring hug.
"Grandbaby?" Questioned the Fentons, Tucker, and Sam.
"Mama Cosma?!" Timmy and Wanda exclaimed.
"MOTHER!?" Cosmo yelped.
"Wha-" Poor Danny was too startled by the appearance of the overbearing fairy, who had given herself a human guise as well. While she was human sized, she was still short; shorted than most of the occupants in the room. Her hair, however, nearly doubled her height.
"Dang, I honestly did not see that coming!"
"You would be silly to thing that I would miss my grandson's birthday!" Cooed Mama Cosma as she relinquished Danny from the hug, much to his relief. "Here you go, I've brought present!"
Suddenly, several large wrapped boxes found their way into Danny's arms, balancing precariously.
"Uh, thanks... I'll open them later."
Mama Cosma briskly strode inside, and addressed others in the room as Danny went to place the presents out of the way. Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda share looks of concern at the arrival of the matriarch of the Cosma family.
"You must be the family that took him in. I'm so glad to finally meet you-"
"Mama Cosma, what are you doing here? And how did you find this place?" Asked Wanda, trying to find a way to salvage the situation.
"Well, I happened to had heard you say it was Daniel's birthday today and that you were coming here to talk with his 'adopted' family," Mama Cosma said, putting emphasis on adopted. "As for finding the home... That sign up front isn't very subtle."
"So your Cosmo's mother? I'm Jazz, nice to meet you." Jazz had noticed how tense it was between the two female fairies, and how both Cosmo and Timmy were watching the two anxiously.
Mama Cosma smiled at the redhead. "Why thank you dearie! It's so nice to see a young lady with impeccable manners."
Jazz led Mama Cosma to the kitchen to get some refreshments. The others turned to the Fairy parents, Timmy, and Danny, who had just joined the group.
"So that's your grandma." Tucker said to Danny, more of a statement than a question.
"Yes..." Danny drew out the answer.
"She doesn't like me," Wanda said with a sigh, "and I don't know why. I've tried to be friendly with her. She is so stubborn!"
"And overbearing! We had to keep our marriage a secret from her," Cosmo added, glancing towards the kitchen. "We were going to introduce Danny to her after his fifth birthday, but..."
"Danny was taken."
Both parents nodded sheepishly. Maddie shot them an understanding smile.
"We understand: not everyone in my family approved of Jack when we got married. If you need anything, you can come to us for help".
"That's right! We Fentons stick together; and since you are practically a part of this family now, it extends to you as well. I guarantee it, 'cause I'm JACK FENTON!" Danny's 'human' dad exclaimed proudly.
Both fairies smile at that. "The same to you as well. If you need any help, we'll be more than happy to help," said Wanda.
"And I'm Cosmo Cosma!" Cosmo huffed up in a similar manner as Jack, causing the two couples to laugh.
Danny smiled, glad that the two couples were getting along. Jazz came back from the kitchen, carrying the cake. "I think it time to break out the desserts."
"I'll grab the ice cream and fudge!" Cheered Mr. Fenton as he barreled his was into the kitchen. Mama Cosma, dodging the pudgy man with a look of disapproval, placed down her glass on the table.
"Can someone please direct me to the washroom. I want to freshen up before we start singing."
Maddie pointed to where the bathroom was, the Cosma family excusing herself out of the room. Maddie then turns to the other guests.
"Yes, it's time to sing to the birthday boy and- Huh, is today actually Danny's birthday?" Mrs. Fenton asked suddenly.
Everyone turned to Cosmo and Wanda, wondering the same thing.
"Coincidentally, it is. We were decorating for the party in the local park," Cosmo began.
"Danny was on the swings as we were decorating the gazebo. We only turned away for one moment..." Wanda was now getting teary eyed. "When we turned back... He..."
At this point, Wanda burst out crying while Cosmo pulled her into a comforting hug. Everyone looked at the fairies in sympathy. After a moment, Wanda started to calm down. That's when a pair of arms wrapped themselves around the fairy couple. They looked to find it was Danny, who had a sheepish smile. Timmy bounded up and wrapped his little arms around the three figures, causing them to all smile. Sam, Tucker and Jazz join in the group hug. Now add in Maddie and Jack Fenton with his trademarked hug. A few groans and one "I think I lost a lung" later, everyone pulls away with big smiles. Mama Cosma then enters the room.
"Let's have some cake."
...
"...Happy birthday to you!" Sang the group to the halfa, who looked pretty content.
"-and many more!" Sang an off-key Tucker, much to everyone's amusement and dismay.
Just before Danny could blow out the candles, a knock came at the door.
"Dang, third time tonight! Expecting anyone else to drop by Danny?" Sam asked her friend. Danny shook his head.
"I'll get it!" Thundered Jack as he raced to the door.
The party-goers sat in silence, waiting for Jack come back.
"Hey Danny, guess who dropped by to wish you a happy birthday!"
The room turns to see their new "guest".
"Vlad..." Danny growled softly.
Vlad Masters, a.k.a Vlad Plasmius; Danny's archenemy.
"Why hello Daniel," sneered the middle-aged man, "Having a good day so far?"
...~~~oOo~~~...
"Wait, just like THAT?!"
Yep.
Some notes: The picnic loaf is a recipe that I got from "Paul Hollywood's Bread: How to Make Great Breads into Greater Meals", written by Paul Hollywood (Great British Bake Off). The recipes are amazing!
"Oh, I love that show!"
I gave Cosmo something smart to say. Yes he can be an idiot, but he does have his moments in the show if I remember correctly.
Now for the references, in order: The Justice League, some Marvel, The Incredibles, Cat Noir from Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, The Oh Boyz from Kim Possible, Jonah Wizard from The 39 Clues, The Lego Movie, Pocahontas, and a bunch of real life singers.
"Cat Noir, really?"
That is a common ground between them; they both love puns. Danny would probably appreciate a fellow teenage superhero who likes to make puns.
As for the games they were playing: Jenga, 20 questions, Karaoke, I think Super smash bros. (You can decide what game it was), Curses, and Mille Bornes.
"Whew! That's a list..."
Well that is all for now.
"Enjoy your weekend everybody!"
