Chapter Five: Novoselic's First Amusement Park!

"I'm surprised you wanted to go through with this infrastructure project…especially considering the fruity hell we endured in the Neo World Program…" Gundham commented as they looked at Novoselic's first amusement park, which had just finished construction and was going to open that very day.

Sonia smiled and replied "Well, one bad experience doesn't have to tarnish our entire view of amusement parks. Millions of children all over the world are entertained by them, and Novoselic has been missing out for too long! Now our people can at last experience the joy of roller coasters and themed rides and overpriced food carts!"

Gundham sweatdropped before he chuckled in amusement at Sonia's enthusiasm and commented "Yes, this shall provide much amusement to the children of our domain. I'm just glad you accepted my suggestion to not include a replica of that demonic funhouse."

Sonia frowned and nodded "Yes, I don't want to experience a funhouse anytime soon, so it was easy as cake to leave one off the plans for this amusement park."

…It's easy as pie… Gundham thought.

"Still, as long as none of the rides are designed to be torturous death traps, I think we'll be okay." Sonia decided, smiling at Gundham.

Gundham nodded "Indeed, and it looks like the masses have already congregated at the entrance, eagerly awaiting for you to grant them passage into this new facility. So, shall we unlock the seal for them?"

Sonia grinned and declared "Yes, to the amusement park Gundham!"

Gundham shook his head in amusement before he followed the excited princess to the opening ceremony where countless children and their parents waited for their first taste of an amusement park.

"Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to the first ever amusement park in Novoselic history, NovoLand!" The crowd burst into thunderous applause before they quieted down, allowing Sonia to continue "We hope that you all enjoy the roller coasters, tank rides, swings, bumper cars, drop towers, and numerous other rides we have built for your enjoyment. There are also numerous food carts strewn between the attractions, and a café in the center of the plaza. Though spend wisely; it's not amusement park food if it's cheap!"

The crowd smiled at Sonia's humor, though they refrained from laughing out of respect for their princess.

"Now, with these scissors…" Sonia took out a pair of oversized, jagged scissors sent as a gift by Toko Hagakure that were modeled after Genocide Jill's scissors at Sonia's request. "I declare this Novoland open! We hope to have many more of these ceremonies in every major city in Novoselic, but for now, enjoy the one and only Novoland!"

Sonia closed the scissors, causing the big red ribbon to snap and fall. The children and their parents stampeded through the entrance as Gundham barely dragged her aside in time to avoid the lethal crowd.

The two of them sweatdropped as Gundham commented "Well…they sure were excited."

Sonia grinned as she agreed "Yes, indeed! I could see the joy sparkling in their eyes. As their ruler, I'm so happy this is turning out to be such a splendid success!"

Gundham nodded and held out his hand as he suggested "Well, shall we experience this new facility for ourselves?"

Sonia gasped with glee as she eagerly took his hand and exclaimed "Oh yes of course! Come with me, Gundham! I want to experience it all!"

"S…Sonia wait!" Gundham briefly protested as she yanked his hand, dragging him beyond the park gates and into the amusement park that her government had built.

"Oh this was so much fun!" Sonia cheered, sparkles of joy shining in her eyes as they walked back into their castle, Gundham carrying various souvenirs in his arms.

"Yes, though I wish those children in line hadn't been so pushy to get on the rides first." Gundham grumbled as Sonia glanced at his slightly messed up hair.

"Yes, perhaps they could have shown better manners, but nobody in Novoselic had ever been to an amusement park before, so I don't blame them for their enthusiasm. Once Novoland has been around long enough, I'm sure the…unusual enthusiasm will level out to a more acceptable and orderly level."

"Perhaps, and…" Gundham blushed as he proposed "Once it does settle down…perhaps we could…go again together…"

Sonia glomped Gundham, who dropped the souvenirs he was carrying in surprise as Sonia exclaimed "Oh Gundham, that sounds wonderful! Perhaps after our coronation, we can take a day to go there!"

Gundham smiled as he nodded "That sounds…acceptable."

Sonia grinned before she looked down at the strewn souvenirs and exclaimed "Oh Gundham, I am sorry! Here, let me help to pick these up. We can carry them back together."

"Th…thank you." Gundham replied before he nodded and kneeled to help Sonia pick up the souvenirs he had dropped. Once they were all picked up, the engaged couple began to walk back to their rooms, looking down the souvenirs in their arms as joyful memories of going on the many rides and attractions together flooded their minds.

I think it's safe to say that Novoland was a success…and…I can't wait to go with you again!
