Judy closed the door behind her. She was still perplexed by what she had just heard. How was such an act possible during high security? Those thieves were not just any thieves. Of that, she was sure. She shook her head and looked in front of her. The fox had not moved an inch more after they left Bogo's office. On the contrary, he looked tense. His fists were closed tightly. Judy wanted to ask why, since when after leaving the cafeteria, he was panting, and his expression was one of total shock. However, she swallowed the question dry and walked past him, indicating to walk to the car while she went to get the folders that contained the papers for them to fill out when they arrived at the crime scene.

Inside the car, Nick's foot tapped uncontrollably on the floor. One of his paws was on the steering wheel, while the other supported his drooping head. Those two mammals. He couldn't believe it. The fear he felt in his dreams. The desire that he could kill them. Those sensations he would only think to feel in the nightmares that plagued him were now present in his real life.

"Nick?"

What he was going to do. It couldn't be a coincidence. He knew that this was not a dream. The suspicion began when the third and fourth night the nightmare was the same.

"Nick?"

Yet, inside, he wanted to believe that it was nothing more than a simple coincidence. That those two mammals were different. That...

"For God's sake. NICK!"

The shout roused him from his thoughts. An angry look and crossed arms was the reception he received from his partner.

"Earth is here. The dream planet will not lead us to the scene of the crime."

"Yes, of course."

Disconcertedly, the fox started the car, and they were on their way. By the time they reached the perimeter of the crime scene, the confusion and damage caused by the explosion could be seen. Nick had to walk at 20km/h to try to reach a closer place to stop the car. At that moment, the doe's violet eyes were watching the wreckage. The scene looked worthy of a big-budget horror film. Only the lack of a film crew made it more real.

Nick stopped the car and turned off the engine. Without saying anything, he removed his seat belt and opened the car door, getting out and closing it with force. Judy came out of her trance and also removed her seat belt, grabbed her briefcases, and opened the car door, running out. However, her stride was broken just as the murmurs of crying, screaming and the sirens blended into a full-blown terror melody.

"News?" asked Nick as he caught up with a fellow police officer from another department.

"A million dollars stolen. The explosion caused great damage, as you can see. Also, those robbers killed more innocent people in the escape." he replied dejectedly.

"How did two thieves manage to get past a high-caliber security guard?"

"I don't know. Nobody knows. It's all mixed up." simple answer and a shrug. "The payoff is this you see. Innocent mammals at the wrong time. The bank employees are all saved without any injuries. But the store owners, the customers, and the mammals that were calmly passing by at that moment are not." and he pointed in front of him, making the fox look in that direction.

Many mammals, impossible to count by the toes of their paws, were injured everywhere. Sitting on the ground receiving medical treatment. The ambulances were many, but not enough for everyone. The rush was on and confusion was already set in.

Judy reached her partner. Head bowed; Nick could still notice the look of shock on her expression. He said nothing to her, turning his attention back to his colleague.

"Is someone after them already?"

"One Sahara Square patrol has already gone after them. Another will be in pursuit as well. The helicopters have been triggered, as have the special forces."

"That won't be enough!" Nick muttered between teeth.

"We need to help the paramedics and firefighters to help the injured ones."

"Go ahead. I'll see if I get more information."

Judy was still not herself. She had always dreamed of being a police officer. She had always wanted cases after criminals, but she never thought that such a thing would happen in such a short time of joining the department. And soon of such magnitude.

"Carrots, we need to go!" he spoke, getting the rabbit's attention.

"Ah, yes, gathering information!"

"No."

"Huh?"

"Let's go after them!" that said, he sidled up and headed toward the car at a quick pace.

"After them?" Judy repeated the words perplexed. Oh, no, no no-no. The doe ran after the fox and grabbed him in one arm, causing the fox to stop. "Don't even think about such a thing."

"The information won't help us at all!"

"But if we do, Bogo will punish us. We need his orders to pursue them."

"Are you worried about what that buffalo might do to us? Open your eyes, Judy. Look around you. Injured and dead mammals. In which, many are kits."

Upon hearing such words, tears filled the doe's eyes. Injured mammals were already a terrible coming, but dead kits distressed her soul.

"But..."

They would lose their jobs. Judy also wanted to bring justice before the innocent mammals who could do nothing. But if they went without permission, they would lose their job, and Judy had fought so hard to be where she is.

"Fuck information and Bogo. They are a danger and we cunning catch these kinds of criminals. But I won't force you. Go back to the department." with that, he turned his back and continued the walk to his car.

Judy bit her lower lip and looked around her. Nick was right. Only they could catch them. She took a deep breath and ran to the car.

" I'll go with you," she said as she passed him and went around the car, opening the door and getting in.

Nick couldn't let a sneaky smile escape him. They might be angry with each other, but he knew she would always be by his side.
