Chapter 4:

Sally kept on driving but constantly kept looking behind to make sure that Mephiles was not following them. Blaze soon came through the broken window and carefully laid Rouge on the seat. "He's a hybrid, isn't he," Blaze said breaking the silence. "Yes," Silver replied.

"How was that possible," Blaze asked. Silver starts to remember his fight with Maria and realized that Mephiles must have been hidden somewhere in the room where his blood was spilled and that it was his blood that transformed Mephiles into a hybrid. "It must have been my spilled blood," Silver answered.

"Hey, I don't mean to interrupt but we have a problem," Sally suddenly said. Silver looked up only to see that the sun had rose. Sally hisses in pain as the sun rays hit her hands and lower face while smoke starts to raise from them. Silver quickly takes off his jacket and covers Sally while taking over the steering wheel. Then, he started to worry about suffering the same fate but then realizes that he is not burning like Sally. Suddenly realizing that he has become immune to sunlight.

"Sally put your head down and keep your foot on the petal," Silver commanded as Sally did what he said.

Meanwhile, in the Jeep the other vampires were also facing the same problem. Knuckles threw his jacket to Manic who like Sonic and Tails was lowering himself in seat in order to avoid the sunlight. "Everyone stay down," Knuckles ordered as he tried to look for shelter. Then, Cosmo remembered that there was an abandoned warehouse that was nearby. "Knuckles quickly turn right there is an abandoned warehouse that we could stay in," Cosmo shouted as she points to the right turn that was coming up quickly. Knuckles nods and quickly turns right and crashes through the locked gates and into the warehouse door with Silver following. "Wait here," Knuckles said as he, Cosmo, and Honeydew got out of the Jeep.

Then, they, along with Silver and Blaze, start to look for shelter for the vampires. Blaze finds cans of black paint and quickly tears it open and throws it on to the windows in order to make it dark and block out the sunlight. Cosmo and Honeydew help her throw the paint on to the windows. "Silver, we can hide the vampires in there," Knuckles said as he pointed a metal storage unit. Silver nods his head and rips off the chain and opens the storage.

Then, he helps Sally get into the storage unit, while Knuckles and Cosmo do the same for Manic, Sonic, and Tails.

Once inside the vampires threw off what they used to cover themselves. "You guys should stay her until the sun sets," Silver requested. The vampires nod their heads and watch as Silver slightly closes the door. Silver turned to see Blaze walking up to him. "What should we do about her," Blaze asked as she pointed where Rouge was still unconscious. "Just leave in the Jeep and let her rest," Silver said. Cosmo and Honeydew saw Rouge and quickly went to tend to her and check her for any injuries. "I didn't realize that she survived," Knuckles said as he saw Cosmo tending to Rouge.

"It will take more than some beating to bring Rouge down. She has always been tough and will never back down in order to protect her pack. By the way can you find me a first aid kit? Honeydew go help him find," Cosmo said as she smiled. Knuckles nods his head and walks away with Honeydew to find a first aid kit. Then, they return with a first aid kit and give it to Cosmo. Honeydew yawns and Knuckles sees her and asked, "Are you tired?"

"Yes," Honeydew replied as she rubbed her eyes. Knuckles quickly takes her the back of the Jeep and opens the trunk. "You can sleep in here," Knuckles said as he smiled at her. Honeydew smiles back and jumps into the trunk and lay down and said, "Thank you Mr. Knuckles."

"Your welcome, kid," Knuckles said as he left her alone. Silver walked up to Cosmo and asked, "How is she?"

"She will fine, all she needs is some rest," Cosmo replied as she cleaned Rouge's wounds which began to heal. "Alright then, I think we should all take this time to rest," Silver said as everyone nodded.

Meanwhile, Mephiles flew into a nearby cave out of fear of the sunlight. Even though he was a hybrid now he still thinks like a vampire. Wrapping himself with his wings, he falls asleep and waits for the sun to set. Back at the hideout where Silver and the others had left behind Espio and his team quickly clear it out of everything that was left. After they were done Espio pulls out a small disc and throws which starts to release gas. Then, he walks out the hideout and climbs into the helicopter with his team and watch the hideout explode as they fly away. Also, with the team were the police officers who had discovered the hideout and were knocked out. Espio and his team planned to leave them somewhere far away from the now destroyed hideout. Espio's communication device started to ring, which Espio answered with "Yes sir." "Did you find them," Trent replied. "No sir, but there were signs showing that they left a while and they could be nearby." "Stay airborne for the time being," Trent ordered. "Yes sir," Espio replied as he turned off his communication device.

Night had finally fallen as Silver and his allies began to prepare to move on. Silver was sitting by himself while looking at the pendent that used to belong to his mother when he pressed down on the ruby which produced some blades come out. Silver then suddenly has a memory of himself as a young boy looking at papers showing a drawing of the same pendent he is holding. The younger version of Silver began to look at the other papers to see a map the lead to a castle before he put them down and walked away. Silver shook his head as the memory faded away. "Hey Silver, are you ok?" Blaze asked.

"Yes, I just had a memory of seeing a drawing of this pendent and a map of a castle. I don't know what it means," Silver replied. Blaze was about to say something when Cosmo walk up to them. "Silver, Rouge is awake now and the others are wondering if you are ready to move on to the hideout?" Cosmo said.

"Tell them yes," Silver replied. Cosmo nodded her head and left to tell the others. Silver pressed the ruby again and the blades retracted back into the pendent, and then he and Blaze went to where the others were at. As they walked into the room where the others were at, they noticed that Rouge was indeed healed and was walking around packing up supplies. They also noticed that she was dressed in a black tube topped jumpsuit with a diamond opening on her bellybutton and wearing fingerless gloves that went up to her elbows, and lastly, she was wearing black wedge heeled boots.

Silver walked up to Rouge and asked, "Rouge do you know anything about this pendent?" Rouge shook her head and replied, "No, all I know is that it was special to your mother." Silver nod his head and then walked up to Manic and asked him the same question. Manic replied "I don't know much, but I know that Mephiles will stop at nothing to get it. I do know someone who knows more about the history of the pendent." "You are talking about Sonia, right Manic," Sonic said as he stood next to his brother.

"Who is Sonia," Blaze asked. "Sonia was the coven's historian. She was banished over 300 years when she tried to record a few things that Maria claimed were lies, even though they were true," Sally answered as she joined the conversion. "How are we going find her," Blaze asked. "It's alright, we all know where she was banished to," Sally replied.

Hi everyone, yes, I'm still alive. I'm sorry for the long hiatus of this story, but the truth is that I was starting to lose interest in writing this story since everything that I wrote wasn't great, so I had walk away from it for a while. Also, I was starting to lose my passion for creative writing since I was going through a rough time in my life. I'm all better now and my passion for creative writing came back, so now I will be able to continue this writing this story. I will try to update as much as I can since I have a busy schedule due to school. Once again, I'm sorry for the long hiatus.
