"Wait, that's your car?" Miles asked.
"Yes," Alaska confirmed.
"That's not a car," he argued. "That's a skateboard with ambition."
They all chuckled, apart from Alaska who gave him a Look of Doom that would have put the Eagle to shame.
"Well in that case," she said. "I suppose you want to go on foot?"
"No," Miles said. "I was just wondering if you did a little head count."
There were six of them: Alaska, Takumi, the Colonel, Miles himself, Gus and one more girl he hadn't seen before. This girl had long brown hair in a neat ponytail. She was even tinier than Alaska, but her breasts were reasonably big for her height. All in all, she looked pretty cute. The permanent blush on her cheeks probably had a lot to do with that.
She wore a pair of tight jeans that hugged her butt nicely and a pink tank-top. Her bra straps were light pink too, so they matched pretty well.
"I uhm… I can stay here," the shy girl said. She spoke with an odd accent Miles couldn't place.
"It's fine," Alaska said. "Just sit on someone's lap."
"Well who's it gonna be?" Gus asked.
"Not you," Alaska said. "That's for sure."
The Colonel opened his mouth. "I wouldn't mind if-"
"You have a girlfriend," Alaska reminded him.
"Oh, right."
"Well then it's gotta be you," Alaska said with a smile.
Miles didn't point out Takumi was single as well. He sensed what Alaska was planning.
"Okay."
They all got into the tiny baby-blue car that was nicknamed Blue Citrus.
The hot girl ended up on his lap on the backseat. It was extremely cramped.
Miles took a deep breath. Don't get a boner, don't get a boner, don't get a boner…
Luckily, Lara tried to sit as far away as the tiny car allowed. Most of her weight was on his knees and thighs. Even if he did get a hard-om, she probably wouldn't notice. Although the Colonel sat next to him and he would definitely see if he looked down.
"Fasten your seatbelts," Alaska said. She revved the engine.
Miles searched around for a seatbelt that wasn't there.
"Oh right," she added. "Yours is missing."
"Wait, what?"
"Tough luck."
She pressed the accelerator. The car surged forward.
Miles instinctively wrapped his arms around the girl. Which was a good thing, because she would have fallen over otherwise.
The girl looked at him shyly. "Thanks," she mumbled.
"No prob. I'm Miles by the way."
She frowned. "But they all call you Pudge?"
"Call me Miles," he insisted.
"Okay… Miles."
He liked the way she said it. Her voice made it sound cute. But not in a mocking way. Just fun-cute.
A short silence fell.
"This is the part where you tell me your name," Miles said.
"Oh, sorry." She blushed. "I'm Lara. Lara Buterskaya."
It took him a second to realise she wasn't messing with him. 'Buterskaya' was a real name.
"As in Lara Croft?" he asked.
Now that he thought of it, she did look like Lara Croft. Complete with ponytail, brown hair, brown eyes, petite figure and large chest.
Lara Not-Croft frowned. "Lara who?"
"You don't know her? Oh you've got to play it."
"Shadow sucked balls," the Colonel interjected.
"The first two I meant."
"I think it's sexist," Alaska said.
"What?" Miles said. "Come on, it's a strong female character. What more do you want?"
"A character who doesn't have boobs bigger than her head."
"Actually they substantially reduced her size," Miles said. "Now she looks more like… well Lara over here."
Lara Buter-Whatever blushed heavily at that.
"Don't objectify the female body," Alaska said.
"It's red," Gus pointed out.
"Huh?"
"Stop the car!"
Alaska slammed the breaks. They were all thrown forward. In the process, Miles shifted forward. Lara's butt was now touching his…
Damn.
Not just that, but because they were both bent forward, his hands had shifted upwards. They were right on her breasts now. Her amazingly soft breasts.
Wait, he should remove his hands. He couldn't do this.
And yet, he didn't move.
Lara seemed to be frozen in fear too. She made no move to remove his hands from her chest.
"Christ," the Colonel said. "That was crazy."
He turned to Miles. "You oka- what are you doing?"
"Nothing."
Miles quickly pulled away his hands.
Luckily, Gus distracted everyone by asking whether Alaska had lost her mind.
"Hey, it's not my fault someone put a red light here," Alaska argued.
"Y-You okay, Lara?" Miles asked.
She nodded weakly. "Thanks."
She wasn't angry?
"I-"
"Can you hold me again?" she asked. She blushed even harder.
"Oh. Sure."
Miles wrapped his arms around her belly.
"Let's go," Alaska said. She put the car back in first and drove off.
Despite almost missing a red light, Alaska kept driving wildly. She only hit the breaks when she absolutely had to. Or when Gus insisted on it.
A couple wild minutes later, they arrived at McDo.
"Next time I'm driving," Gus said.
She chuckled. "You're even worse than me."
"I doubt that," Miles chimed in.
"I'm afraid she's right," Gus said. "I can't feel anything in old prosty."
Old pr… oh of course. That explained the slight limb. Gus had a prosthetic leg.
"Wait, how did you get your license?" Miles asked.
"Cancer perks."
"Your driving is unpleasant, but it isn't technically unsafe," Alaska quoted.
"Anyway, let's go," Gus said.
Now, they had to get out of this thing.
Gus and Alaska got out first and tilted their seats forward so the others could climb out of the two-door car. Gus gave them a hand. In the process, Lara hit her head on the roof.
"You okay?" Miles asked.
"Yeah, it's okay. Sorry, I'm a little clumsy"
She climbed out of the car. Miles got out too with some help from Alaska.
He wanted to thank her, but then she did something weird. She suddenly swooped down and pulled his shorts down.
"Those are the baggiest shorts in the whole state of Alabama."
Miles pulled them back up. "I like them baggy."
Did she really have to embarrass him like that in front of Lara?
Said Lara had turned to the McDo and was studying the building intensely. As if she hadn't noticed what just happened.
Miles silently thanked her for her tact.
"Don't be so hard on him," Gus said.
Alaska shrugged and walked inside.
"It's okay," Gus whispered. "Be confident."
"I'm not confident."
"Then fake it until you start to believe your own lies."
"What?"
"Look, Lara is obviously a very timid girl. If you don't take the initiative, nothing will happen."
"I've known her for one wild car ride."
"I noticed," Gus smiled. "Do you want to get to know her better or not?"
Miles stared at her ass. Of course he did. Fuck she was hot. Sure, not as hot as Alaska but… no wait, Alaska was a fucking cold state. Maybe that did match Alaska's personality somewhat? Cold, distant, but fun once you get to know her.
Alaska turned to them. "Guys? You coming?"
"Coming."
They entered McDo. Unfortunately, lots of other people were determined to eat here today. When they all had their order, they could only find a table with five chairs. Originally there were six, but someone had taken a chair to add to a different group.
"Damn," the Colonel said.
"I can sit on Miles' lap again," Lara offered.
"Perfect."
Alaska quickly claimed the table.
They all sat down. Once again, Lara sat on his lap, but this time, they had a lot more room.
"But how are you gonna reach your plate now?" Takumi asked.
"Hold on. Lara, can you shift around?"
"Shift how?"
"Sideways."
She still didn't understand. Miles hesitated, but then he remembered Gus' advice.
He put his hands on her waist and helped her turn so she sat with both legs on one side. He kept one hand on her lower back to make sure she didn't fall. She blushed a little, but made no move to stop him.
"Now put our stuff on one tray and put it on your lap so we can both reach it."
"Oh," she said. "That's smart."
She did as he asked.
Miles noticed the others were smiling at him.
It was weird. He wasn't usually this confident.
Maybe it was just the influence of her? Lara was so shy it was kinda difficult not to take charge. And he did like her a lot. While he initially liked Alaska, it was difficult to develop a crush on her when her boyfriend was sitting right next to her. A boyfriend with cancer who had become a good friend of Miles. The resistance of liking Gus' girlfriend was just too much.
Besides, Alaska looked to be quite a handful to deal with. Lara was more of a fun handful.
Wait, don't think about that now.
They started eating. Lara smiled at him shyly while he ate.
When they were done eating, Alaska reminded everyone they had come here to study. They had their first big math test coming up. Since Alaska was good at math, she had offered to teach them.
Everyone took out their notebooks, apart from Miles, who was stuck with a hot girl on his lap.
"Uh," she blushed. "Should I move?"
While they were eating, it had calmed down, so there were some empty tables around them.
"Uh…" he didn't really want her to leave. She wasn't particularly heavy, so he could sit like this for hours. But… "I do need notes."
"You can copy mine afterwards," she suggested.
"Alright then."
"Good," Alaska said. "Let's begin."
Alaska lit a cigarette and started teaching.
She was good. Really good.
Over the next hour, Alaska explained math to them and slowly, the muddy waters started to clear. Miles realised he wasn't really bad at math. He just needed someone to explain it to him properly.
When they were done, they drove back to school. Once again, Lara sat on his lap. She seemed to be getting a little more comfortable there.
After a second wild ride, they reached the school. There were no accidental boob-touchings this time.
Then, something strange happened.
Alaska got out first and tilted her seat so Takumi and the Colonel could get out. Then, she walked around and helped Gus out.
Then, she tilted the seat so Lara and Miles could climb out.
"I need to go, I have stuff to do," Alaska said.
"Me too," Takumi said.
"We do?" the Colonel asked.
"Yes, we do, come on."
Alaska grabbed his arms and dragged him away. Gus and Takumi followed.
Then, Alaska looked back at him and winked.
Miles frowned. Where were they suddenly going? And why couldn't he join them? And why was she…
"So uh…"
Oh.
Now it dawned on him. They had left him all alone with Lara.
She made no move to leave the car.
"Well that was fun," Miles said, trying to make conversation.
"Yeah. Alaska is a good teacher."
"Yeah."
Now would be a great time to ask her out, if he had the courage to.
"Uh…" Miles hesitated. "I got a class in ten minutes."
"Me too." She still didn't get out.
"Do you want to meet after classes?" he asked. "So I can copy your math notes?"
"Sure," she said.
"Great."
A silence fell.
"We should get out," Lara finally said.
She climbed out of the car. Miles once again took the opportunity to check out her ass.
Then, he got out too.
"So uhm, I'm in room 43."
"Okay. I'll meet you after class then."
They both hesitated.
"I had a lot of fun today," Miles said.
"Me too."
"I'll see you tonight."
He placed an awkward kiss on her cheek, which caused her to blush deep red.
Miles walked away. When he looked over his shoulder, he saw her waving at him.
With a smirk, he walked to his next class.
