Summary: The Indominus Rex had a parent, someone who loved her and took care of her. After she was deemed too violent and dangerous for human interaction, she was torn apart from him. Years later, she sees an opportunity for freedom and takes it. Her first priority was finding her adoptive father.
Year: 2010
Hours had gone by since Reggie had seen her father being dragged out by that cold woman. Her daddy hadn't returned yet and Reggie was confused and worried. She sat down on the cold tiled floor, occasionally taking a bite from her first kill. The room felt much colder now, lacking the warm presence of her dad. It was at that moment that Reggie realized that for the first time in her entire life, she was alone. She was truly alone. Yes, there were times when her daddy and the cold eyed woman with him were both not in the room, but during those times she at least could interact with Regis.
Now, it was only Reggie in the room. Just her and a bloody, half-eaten corpse.
Reggie hated the feeling of the cold room. She hated solitude. She wanted her daddy to hug her and comfort her. She let out a series of chitter and cries in order to get his attention, but they weren't any responses. Why weren't her calls being answered!?
After what felt like an eternity, the familiar soft creak of the door being opened drew was heard. She jumped onto her feet. Her dad had finally returned! She rushed towards the door, letting out trills of joy and relief. But when she sniffed the air, she froze and skidded to a stop. She even took a couple steps back. The room, although filled with the scent of flesh and blood, still allowed her to identify the scent of the person entering. It wasn't even a single person. There were multiple unfamiliar scents and none of them belonged to her father.
Before Reggie could even let out a warning growl to scare the intruders away, a sharp sound cut through the silence and Reggie felt a sharp pain in her chest. She glanced down and saw a dart filled with a liquid that was quickly emptying into her. She didn't understand why she was beginning to lose her balance or why her vision was getting blurry. After a couple seconds, she ended up collapsing to the floor, the tranquilizer having rendered her unconscious.

When the tranquilizer wore off, Reggie found herself in a much larger room. She recalled her daddy having always talked about moving her and Regis to a larger room since they were both growing too big for their current room. This new room was very different. When she looked up, she saw a large glowing light above, partially covered by white puffs. The light's rays were warm. The rest of the area around the light and the white puffs were a light blue color.
She wasn't in a room inside the lab anymore. She was now in an outdoor paddock.
Reggie's nostrils were assaulted by dozens of new scents at once. She had never left her room before except for when she was taken to the vet for a monthly check-up or when she was sick. She smelled dirt, plants, and fresh air. She could smell multiple insects that were lurking around the area as well as some of the birds that were flying above. This new area was brimming with life.
It felt so strange and so unreal. It looked like the pictures in the books her father read to her. Upon remembering her father, she let out another series of calls. She waited for a few minutes but still received no answers. Thinking that he was too far to hear her, she started running through the grass and bushes, past the large trees that provided shadows that shielded her from the sun's rays.
She continued running but eventually reached the other end of the paddock and bumped into the wall. It was harder, colder, and stronger than the walls of her previous room. She attempted to climb up but only managed to scale a foot off the ground before gravity dragged her back down. The sky was darkening as night came, yet there was still no sign of her daddy.
Reggie was exhausted and as the sun set, the temperature began to drop. Reggie wanted to continue running, hoping that she'd eventually find her daddy, but she was tired and needed to rest. The young Indominus Rex curled up at the base of a large tree, her scales shivering in both cold and fear.
Each night, Alistair would read a book to her before tucking her into a warm nest of blankets and pillows. The ground she was currently laying on was hard and uncomfortable, getting her beautiful white scales dusted reddish brown. There were no bedtime stories. There were no lullabies. There were no hugs and kisses.
She once again tried calling for her daddy, only to hear the sounds of the night. What had happened to her daddy? Where had that cold eyed woman taken him? Had she hurt him like Regis had hurt him? Was...was her daddy dead? She immediately shook the thought of her father being dead away. No, he had to be alive. One way or another, she'd find her daddy.
So this was a Reggie-centric chapter.
