Takuya looked around rather...surprised.

The dining room for lunch was full.

Very full!

Three years ago that place was totally a horror, since, everyone hated the food the old cook prepared. Well, Koichi said that the cook prepared better food, so, I guess this was the proof.

-Wow, this place is really crowded," the dark-haired man commented.

-Well, since Principal Fujieda and the cook were expelled that year, a lot of things have improved," Ryo said.

Principal Fujieda.

Takuya grimaced when he heard that name.

And the cook.

The fact that Akiyama named both of them brought back memories and he could assure that the twins thought the same thing as they grimaced and looked away.

Both the headmistress and the cook were gone and that was a product of...

The dark night.

Of course! It had been easy to blame innocent people, when they had been guilty!

All of them!

But, they had paid innocent...

-I'm hungry," exclaimed Taichi as they walked down the stairs with Yamato.

-You are always hungry," muttered the blond, no doubt years would pass and everything would remain the same. Even when Taichi drank at parties he stopped being hungry, on the contrary, with alcohol he seemed to be hungrier.

They both stepped on the last step of the stairs and advanced a few meters towards the dining room, it was lunch time and if he was sincere he was still hungry. When they arrived they found a crowd of boys and girls in that place, something quite common since the new cook had arrived at the boarding school.

But!

Something caught their attention.

Or rather someone.

The Minamoto-Kimura twins were standing next to Ryo and a dark-haired, brown-haired, chocolate-eyed boy who looked quite familiar.

-Wait a minute," exclaimed Taichi, "Isn't that...?

-Takuya Tachikawa, Mimi's brother," Yamato finished, since he would recognize the boy anywhere.

They both exchanged glances and didn't hesitate for two seconds to approach the boys.

-Well, well, look who's back," exclaimed Taichi, drawing the attention of the boys who instantly turned to them.

-Taichi, Yamato..." Takuya pronounced their names quite surprised to see them both.

-So the rumors that the Tachikawa's were back weren't a lie," Yamato greeted the boy with a high-five.

-Ha! Are we as famous as you that people are rumoring things about us," Takuya asked jokingly.

-You wish..." exclaimed the blond.

Taichi this time approached the brown boy, "It's been a long time," he greeted his friend with a clap of his hands.

-I heard that you replaced me," commented the Tachikawa's brother.

-He! Sorry, but I needed a co-captain," apologized the Yagami.

Takuya shook his head, "Don't worry, no hard feelings," he replied with a smile, "That's right! I want my job back.

-Well, you'll have to face Daisuke for that," commented Taichi, "This time in your absence that boy became a star, practically, of soccer here.

-Interesting," Takuya commented, "We'll see then...

-It's surprising to see that you're back," commented Ishida, "Izumi was already celebrating that she wouldn't see your face again.

Izumi

Takuya grimaced at that name upon hearing the green-eyed blonde's name.

He sighed.

-Well, I hope she doesn't hate me anymore," Takuya commented trying to joke, though in truth he simply wanted to hide what he truly felt or thought.

-Let's hope not," replied the blond Ishida.

-You and your family left the city overnight, but, several things are still the same," commented Taichi.

Takuya made a grimace when he heard that expression "They left the city overnight" and unconsciously could not avoid turning to Ishida, without him noticing it, but, the truth is that the brother of the honey-eyed girl felt some remorse knowing that he had finally been one of the reasons why they had left the boarding school, in fact what Mimi and he had had caused that.

-You know, we've always wondered what was the reason for your unexpected departure," Akiyama spoke this time.

Takuya made another one of his grimaces- Well, my father had to settle some issues in his company in New York and simply decided that we should leave- He answered- You know how he is, when he proposes something he does it without further ado and we didn't have time to give explanations.

-Well, the important thing is that you came back," replied Taichi, "So things are back to the way they used to be.

Like before?

Everyone grimaced at the Yagamia's comment, since, honestly, there were things they wanted to be like before, but others they simply wanted to forget.

-By the way! When I arrived I saw your sister Mimi," said Ryo, and she looks beautiful. She's even more beautiful than before.

This comment caused both Takuya and Ishida to grimace, honestly the Akiyama had earned the reputation of womanizer and Takuya didn't want his sister to get involved with someone like that, the same thing happened with the blond didn't want the chestnut to get involved with someone like him, he still remembered her as that shy girl he had been interested in years ago and even if she had left without explanation she would always be that girl he had known.

-Is it true what you told me about the Tachikawa," Hikari asked her friend.

Rika nodded.

-I don't want to be nosy, but, you told me that only Takuya and Mimi were going to come back," said the brown, "Do you know why only two out of three came back?

Rika made a grimace, since, she knew perfectly well the reasons, Takuya's sister and Mimi was her best friend, so she told her everything- Well, well...- She stopped for a moment, not because she distrusted Hikari, but because a rather complicated topic that the Yagami already knew slightly because the youngest of the Tachikawa was also her friend- She is finishing her rehabilitation.

Hikari grimaced at Nonaka's answer. She was also friends with Takuya's younger sister and knew perfectly well what problems she had been left with after...the dark night.

-Sadly we were all left with after-effects," the Yagami thought aloud without realizing it.

Rika simply nodded her head-All from the night.-Nonaka pronounced those words in a rather cold and serious manner, causing the Yagami girl to feel a little shiver.

Dark night.

That was the name given to the night of April 3rd three years ago. Although it was actually the dark night for some, since, some had not had a bad time. But

A fact!

It had ruined the "good" of that night.

-You know, sometimes I wonder if it's worth blaming a person for what happened on that night?" asked Hikari.

Rika sighed, she had long wanted to blame Akiyama. But, time later she had realized that in reality it had been everyone's fault, since, not everything had been...spices. But also alcohol and other things.

-I'm glad it's time for lunch," exclaimed Zoe as she walked along with her two friends. U

-Same here... -Sora replied- Mimi, you must try the new cook's food, it's excellent!

Mimi smiled- You know, as hungry as I am, it doesn't matter if it tastes good or bad- she mused- I just want to eat.

They both reached the foot of the stairs and walked towards the dining room.

It was full!

Mimi swore she didn't see people, but a big black spot in that place, since she couldn't make out a single person.

-¡U! There's no room for any more people in this place," Tachikawa commented.

-As Sora said, the new cook cooks excellent food.

The girls took a few steps to blend into the crowd, but, as soon as they did that they could feel thousands and thousands of eyes on them, which made Mimi feel nervous ignoring the fact that the gaze of a certain blond next to the Yagami was also staring at her.

Yamato's eyes widened like saucers.

She couldn't believe it!

She was...

No doubt about it...

She was very changed, but, he would never forget her.

Pale-skinned brunette with honey eyes.

The girl walked through the place together with the red-haired Takenouchi and her blonde sister, the three of them being watched by the local boys which in a way annoyed the blonde, the Yagami and in a way Mimi's brother.

~Three years ago

-Come on Matt! The Yagami boy insisted for the thousandth time to his blond friend who was sitting on a couch quite annoyed by the annoyance his best friend was giving him.

The blond rolled his eyes.

-Come on! Surely you have more than one invitation..." Takuya spoke this time.

Yamato just sighed rather angrily.

Kouji crossed his arms- Leave him alone, he doesn't want to talk. And he's right, we shouldn't meddle in his life.

At last someone with judgment!

thought the blond, since he honestly didn't feel like talking to them about the dance. He had received more than 10 invitations for the "love party" but, honestly, he wasn't interested in any of them, since he knew that the girls did it because of his "popularity" as the singer of the band that had recently been created. Maybe some wanted something formal with him while others just wanted a moment, but he sincerely doubted he would feel anything for one of his fans, since they were practically strangers.

The truth of the matter was that his eyes were actually fixed on a certain girl since he was a little boy. But, that girl had been living off of him, so, he supposed that maybe he didn't stand a chance.

He grimaced as he watched the brunette walk down the stairs with her blonde sister, Zoe, and the red-haired Takenouchi.

Had he summoned her in thought?

-Good morning everyone," Sora greeted with his usual smile.

-Hello Sora," greeted the boys, Taichi, Yamato, Takuya, Kouji and Koichi in chorus.

-Good morning brother," Zoe came up to kiss his cheek.

-Hi Zoe," Ishida greeted his sister.

-Good morning sis," Takuya, like every morning, messed up his sister's hair.

-Takuya!" claimed the honey-eyed brunette, provoking a certain tenderness in the blond.

He smiled sideways. Sometimes she could be capricious or she could get annoyed this caused her cheeks to blush and that made her look more tender, as, she remembered the time Izumi had introduced her to her when they had entered first grade.

-Why are they here," asked Sora, a bit surprised to see them on the sofas in the main hall of the building, "It's already late," she looked at her watch, "I mean! It's normal for Taichi or Takuya to be late for class, but, you guys...-She pointed at the twins and Yamato- No!

-Ouch! That hurt, Sora," exclaimed Taichi pretending to be offended.

-We're never late," Takuya spoke in a sarcastic way, trying to imitate being offended.

-How could we not? Zoe rolled her eyes.

Yamato grimaced and looked at the clock on the wall, her friend, Sora, was right, classes would start in less than ten minutes and they were still there.

-We're waiting for Ryo," Koichi replied, "We were about to leave and he said he forgot something "important" so he went back to look for him.

-According to him it wouldn't take more than two minutes," commented Kouji, "But, we've been waiting for an eternity.

-An eternity well spent," commented Taichi this time.

The redhead raised an eyebrow in surprise, "An eternity well spent?

The Yagami boy nodded and hugged the blond's neck with his right arm- Since we took advantage of that moment to know which of his girls Yamato will go to the party with.

Yamato grimaced when he heard this.

-You know the great Yamato Ishida has more than ten invitations," Takuya commented causing the honey-eyed Tachikawa to make a slight grimace.

Of course!

She had to assume that Ishida would get a lot of invitations because of how popular, talented and handsome he was. To think that she was the only one who wanted to go with him was illogical.

-Or was it eleven? -Takuya asked.

Yamato pulled his friend's arm away, "You don't care about that.

-Of course we care," Zoe commented this time and approached him, "You can't just go with anyone to the party," she touched his tie.

Yamato rolled his eyes, "Are you going to join this game too, sister?

-If it's my brother, obviously yes," answered the green-eyed girl, "You can't go with just anyone, you must go with someone I approve of.

Yamato laughed to himself and couldn't help rolling his eyes at his sister's comment. If only he knew that for some strange reason with the girl he was interested in years ago, Zoe adored as a sister.

-Speaking of the party, do you girls have a date yet," Taichi asked the girls.

-Not yet..." The green-eyed girl answered.

-I don't know why you ask if you already know I'm going with you," replied the redhead.

-And you, Mimi?" Koichi asked the Tachikawa.

The honey-eyed girl grimaced and lowered her head, "I don't have a date yet," she smiled, "But, I'm sure I'm going with Izzy.

Yamato grimaced at this, sometimes he really envied the red-haired Koushiro Izumi, the Tachikawa's best friend, since, somehow and despite being so different, he could spend thousands and thousands of hours with the honey-eyed girl. He sighed...

How was it possible that to him she would say more than five words and not to him?

He grimaced.

Did she really not like him?

Or had he simply not done enough to talk to her?

When they had met the girl talked to him, as with everyone, always like a power bomb, maybe a bit shouty and capricious, but, he at that time was very serious, due to the problems that his parents' marriage was going through at that time, some time later these problems had been solved and he had started to be more sociable, but, there was already that barrier between them.

Barrier that he hated, since, he had begun to appreciate the girl's good humor, her humorous anecdotes of the day to day and her expressions of love too late.

He sighed.

Rika Nonaka!" A scream from a fourteen-year-old girl with pale skin, blonde-brown hair and amber eyes was heard in the room.

Wake up!" shouted a thirteen-year-old Hikari Yagami.

And without waiting any longer the two girls jumped on the fourteen year old Rika who was sleeping peacefully.

-Oh," exclaimed Rika, opening her eyes quite sleepy and angry at the same time, "Hikari, Damar, don't you know how to wake people up in a more...-she looked for the word- normal way?

The amber-eyed girl grimaced- We would wake you up in a normal way if only you had woken up on time- With a pillow she started to hit the Nonaka.

Rika grimaced.

-Your alarm clock went off more than an hour ago and you're still sleeping," Damar, the amber-eyed girl, continued speaking.

-You're going..." Hikari paused, "Correction! What did you eat or drink so you wouldn't hear your alarm clock or wake up to our screams?

Rika sighed, she hadn't really eaten or drank anything to sleep, she had simply been having insomnia until six in the morning, the alarm went off at seven, so, she was just in her second sleep when it went off and she simply hadn't heard it.

The Nonaka girl stretched her arms and gave a slight yawn- I'm exhausted! I don't want to attend.

-If you miss one more class you will fail the semester," Damar insisted.

Rika sighed, that was true. And if she was sincere she didn't care about failing, the main subject was...

Her mother.

Her demanding and nagging mother.

She sighed.

This being an only child was no fun, much less being the daughter of a woman as wealthy as Rumiko Nonaka.

Again she sighed.

Sometimes she wondered what had become of her father.

Why didn't she know him?

Why didn't she know who he was?

Or why hadn't they had more children with his mother?

Perhaps, if she had known who her father was or if she had had siblings she wouldn't feel so pressured to do everything right so that her family would have a good reputation in front of society and she wouldn't have to resort to certain "soothing spices" to forget her problems.

Rika sighed and got up from her bed, but, she couldn't help but look at her two friends- I don't know what I would do without you, Hikari Yagami and Damar Tachikawa.

The girls smiled.

-Don't thank us," said the girl with amber eyes, "And you better hurry up, remember we have classes with teacher Yamamoto.

-Oh no," exclaimed Nonaka, "Why do we have to put up with that witch?

-To you, all teachers are witches," Hikari burst out laughing.

-Heh! You're right," replied Rika before entering the bathroom with her clothes in hand.

~Hours later~

-That class was stressful," said Yamato's blonde sister as she leaned her back against her locker, "I don't like Professor Amano.

-That makes two of us," muttered Mimi as she closed her locker.

-Lucky Sora isn't in this class," exclaimed the blonde, "She doesn't have to put up with Professor Amano.

-What luck?" asked Mimi, "You mean lucky! She's blessed to be in the same class as your brother. Do you know what I would give to be in the same class with Yamato?

Zoe smiled sideways, "Tell you what," she asked, "Just as you talk about him in his absence, you should get up the courage to ask him to the dance.

Mimi sighed.

If only it were that easy.

The truth is that at the beginning, when they had just met, it was easy to talk to him, even if it was serious, she always found a way to talk to him, but now it was all different.

Yamato had thousands of admirers and she was not sure if he had feelings for her...

She often wished that her experience was similar to that of her friends and sister.

Evidently Taichi reciprocated Sora's feelings.

You didn't have to be a fortune teller to notice the great chemistry between Takuya and Zoe.

Her younger sister was happily coupled up, Koichi seemed to love her in such a sincere way.

Even her sister's friend, Hikari Yagami, along with Zoe's brother showed signs that they might be more than friends!

Instead she...she could never be sure that Yamato had feelings for her.

Or did he?

Attention on Rika, her problems from three years ago could mean something interesting...
