Katherine walked slowly down one of the the hallway leading to Vera's, now Dean's, room with a flashlight. For some reason, the lights had suddenly turned off or began flickering in this particular hallway.
Katherine assumed it had to be from ghostly interference and she quickly thought back to everything she ever learned from ghost TV shows as she approached the room. Her flashlight beam was trembling all over the place as her hand shook.
"Okay... I, um... I'd like to make contact with you, um... spirit. Ghost... whatever. Is there anything you'd like to tell me? Anything you'd like to reveal about your life? Or your death? Go ahead and come out... and um... just be civil. Okay?"
She pushed the door open slowly, taking a look around the room. The closet door was wide open, but obviously Vera was no longer inside. It was a creepy image, and she hurried over to close the door.
"Okay, look, we can work things out," she said as she turned around again. She was about to say something else, but then the closet door very slowly creaked open again, and she shivered.
This time she remembered everything she ever learned from horror movies and decided to leave the room, taking steps backwards toward the door. "Okay, fair enough! I'm sorry if I made you unhappy, but I'm willing to apologize for that. That's gotta count for something, right? So, um... just... come on out when you're ready, okay? And we'll have an actual conversation. So, yeah... I think that sounds like a good idea." She turned around to walk back into the hallway.
"Do you, though?" Three voices said behind her at once, making her jump! Katherine whirled around and screamed as three demonic looking faces with red eyes roared at her. Katherine dropped the flashlight and turned to run down the hallway in fear as the girls switched back to their normal faces, laughing out loud. They grinned at each other, and split up to each have their own fun.
The sound of Katherine screaming and evil laughs filled the mansion, and Dean immediately jumped up. "Mom?!" Dean cried out, pushing against the closet door immediately and twisting the knob, but the old door had gotten stuck. "Oh, you've gotta be kidding me right now..." He started slamming his shoulder against the door until it finally swung open.
"Finally..." Dean started to walk out right as the door suddenly swung shut, whacking him and sending him back into the closet with a crash. "Oof!"
Outside, Lena chuckled and her eyes glowed a bright blue. The door shined with blue light for a second. Now her strange powers were making the door stay shut. "Whoever's in there, we'll deal with you later!" She called, tapping on the door.
Meanwhile, Katherine was running down the hallway in terror, being pursued by the a rolling lump in the carpet, caused by Bertha chasing her down the hall. Katherine ducked into a room in her right, and the lump went right past her, continuing down the hall.
"Can't believe that worked..." She said breathlessly. She paused to take a breath, leaning against a big picture, only to look up and see one of the ghosts, Lena, posing in the picture with an evil grin. She stretched out her hands from the picture towards her, making it look like the picture itself was reaching out to her.
Katherine remembered scary stories about people being trapped forever in pictures, and screamed again and ran away, making Lena laugh evilly. Katherine ran for the first door she saw to try and hide. As she pushed it open and shut the door behind her, she saw that it was a bathroom.
Before she could do anything else, Stella suddenly popped up from the floor. "Not a good idea!" She declared. "You're gonna wanna air this place out!" And she opened her mouth, unleashing a cloud of green, ghostly rot breath like some terrible burp. It smelled like rotten eggs, spinach, and cheese at the same time!
"UGH!" Katherine coughed and immediately ran out of the bathroom. Anything was better than that!
"Come back in ten minutes!" Stella yelled after her, bursting out laughing.
Katherine headed to the room she had chosen next, and Bertha was waiting for her behind the door, holding one of Katherine's cameras in her hands. "Say AAAAH!" Bertha yelled.
"AAAAH!" Katherine screamed as Bertha snapped a picture and then ran away once again, this time headed for the foyer.
"Great shot! You're a natural!" Bertha called, cackling.
Meanwhile, hearing all of his mom's screams, Dean was frantically continuing to push against the sealed closet door, slamming his fists against it. "Mom! Mom!"
At the same time, Vera popped through the ceiling. She'd finally recovered from the flight Lena had sent her on and returned to the house. She began speeding through the hallways.
She wasn't sure what she was going to do, but she knew she had to do something and soon. I don't know if I can stand up to them... but if I don't, they'll leave... and I don't want Dean to leave! Uh... I mean, I don't want them to leave! Yeah, that's it.
Vera started to think about what chance there was of them staying even if she managed to convince her sisters to stop, and she felt a deep sadness. There was no way they were gonna stay after all this. No chance at all.
As she passed the closet, she heard Dean's yelling inside and stopped dead in her tracks. The door had a strange glow on the outside, and she realized it was sealed by a ghostly force that could only be undone by a ghost. She quickly flew over and her eyes glowed blue like Lena's did, releasing the door just as Dean kicked at the door with a yell of frustration.
Vera phased through the door suddenly as Dean gasped and stumbled backwards. "Wait, wait please," Vera quickly said, raising her hands as if in surrender. "It's okay! I'm here to help you!"
Dean just stared at her, clearly unwilling to completely believe her.
"No, really!" Vera protested. "I mean, look, you can hear all the commotion out there, right? Yet here I am in front of you. I'm not part of all that!"
Now that she pointed that out, Dean realized it did make some sense, though that didn't mean she was telling the whole truth. Still, her voice clearly wasn't the same as the one he'd heard before. "O-okay... who's out there? Who's messing with my mom?"
"Your mom is being chased by my sisters! My, uh... ghost sisters. Um... trust me, I know how it sounds. But I'm not like them, I promise! I want to help!"
Dean studied her for a while. He didn't know why, but there was just something about her that made him think he could trust her. "Okay... okay. I'm not 100% on all this, but... I'll trust you." He gave her a small smile.
Vera felt a burst of warmth and an excitement within her. "Great! Okay, come on! No time to waste!" She took his hand, making him look at it in surprise, and she quickly flew out the door of the closet.
...Or rather, she flew through the closed door. "Umf!" Vera winced at the sound as Dean smacked right into the door and fell backwards to the floor, dazed.
"Whoops..."
Meanwhile, Katherine entered the grand hall of the house the ghosts hot on her trail. "My hips don't lie!" Bertha jeered as she flew over to Katherine and hip-checked her, her large hips sending Katherine tumbling towards the staircase.
Katherine desperately grabbed a corner of the rug as she began to roll down the steps, causing it to come down with her and wrap her up like a human taco while the ghosts laughed out loud. Eventually, reaching the bottom, the large carpet unrolled itself along the floor, sending her spinning several times before it was fully open. Katherine stood up shakily on her feet, dizzy.
Hearing the sisters laugh made her fear turn to anger. Okay, that's it... I've had enough!
She then remembered most of her bags and boxes of equipment were still on the floor in the grand hall, and she stumbled over to them, looking for the box that said "Emergencies Only". It was her special box of anti-ghost supplies that she never thought she would need, but now was finally a good time to use them!
"Okay... You push, I'll pull!" Vera called through the door as Dean nodded on the other side, forgetting to voice his agreement. Together, the two worked on the still stuck closet door until it finally and very suddenly came loose and opened.
Dean stumbled through the door with a cry right into her as it swung open and Vera caught him, wrapping her arms around him, the force making her solid form fall backwards, thankfully cushioning his fall. As they landed in a crash, blue and green eyes opened and stared at each other for a few seconds. They seemed awfully close... and then they both realized their lips had met and were pressed together in an accidental kiss!
The boy pulled back in shock with a smack of the lips, and jumped up and ran from her to the main hall where he heard some commotion going on. Meanwhile, Vera stayed on the floor with a shocked look on her face as she touched her lips, now in la la land over her very first kiss.
Dean ran without stopping into the main hall where he heard his mom yelling. Terrified of what he was gonna find, he prepared for the worst... only to see the weird sight of his mother fighting off three other ghost girls on the other side of the hall with a Bible and a container of salt, screaming, "Back! Back spirits! My power repels you!" while tossing salt at them and slowly moving backwards up the right staircase. The ghosts were just laughing at her attempts to ward them off.
Dean raised an eyebrow, very confused. Oooookay, then... good job, mom... I guess? He quietly snuck his way into the left side of the hall, keeping pressed against the wall as he looked around, trying to make a plan to get a quick way out for his mom to get to safety. That was all that mattered to him. Just as he started down the left staircase, he brushed against an old broom laying against the wall that Katherine had left, and it fell with a loud clack!
He jumped and winced, and all eyes in the hall turned to him. "Dean!" Katherine gasped.
"Uh, hi mom..."
"Mom?" Lena asked mischievously. "Ah, we got a family team. What gives, lady? You never told us you had a babeilicious son!"
"Dean, I told you to stay in that closet!"
"I know, but-aah!" The sisters instantly flew right at Dean and flew around him for a few seconds cackling. Dean looked around himself wildly as they stopped, looking down at him evilly.
"Leave him alone!" Katherine yelled.
Dean looked at the sisters worriedly, and Lena suddenly leaned in and pecked him on the lips! "Mwah!" Dean gasped and stumbled back, rubbing his lips.
The sisters burst out laughing and began to fawn over him. He was too shocked to stop Lena from smooshing his cheeks. "Wow, been a long time since such a cutie moved here!" She declared, ruffling his hair next.
"So handsome!" Stella said, grabbing him and giving him a smooch next. Dean gagged and pushed her away.
"I know, right?!" Bertha said, snuggling up next to him and kissing him on the cheek while raising Katherine's camera to snap a picture. "Selfie!"
"Ah!" Dean gasped, and the sisters all giggled as he was blinded by the camera flash.
While rubbing his eyes, Dean jumped as he felt a slap on his butt. He turned around to see the sisters whistling innocently before they all pointed at each other. "She did it!" They said together, all laughing hysterically before floating up and fawning over him again while Katherine started hurrying over to the other side of the hall.
"Get away from me!" Dean waved his arms around and shoved the ghosts away, annoyed. He'd had enough fawning over him from Miss Kress today.
"Aw, don't be like that," Lena said with a chuckle, pinching one of his cheeks. Dean slapped her hand away, making her glare.
He faced Lena, Stella, and Bertha defiantly. "Just leave me and my mom alone!"
"Ever heard of please, handsome?" Bertha asked with an evil grin. "We're pretty reasonable, you know!" The sisters chuckled.
"Okay, then. Please piss off and leave us alone!" Dean shot back, completely forgetting his earlier fear in his outrage. All he had on his mind now was protecting his mom.
"Oh, sweetie..." Katherine said softly, touched at his loyalty.
Lena gasped dramatically. "Well! How rude!"
"And after we were so nice, too!" Stella said, laughing.
Lena smirked. "Girls, I think somebody needs to learn some manners!"
"You don't scare me!" Dean shot back.
"Oh, don't we?" The other two sisters grinned and they all suddenly faced each other. "Rock, Paper, Scissors, shoot!" Lena yelled as they all began playing the game together, much to Dean's confusion.
"Draw! Shoot! Draw! Shoot! Stop picking rock, damn it! Shoot!"
"Dean, run!" Katherine called, already hurrying over.
"I'm good, mom," Dean called, standing his ground. "I'm not afraid of them!"
"Yes!" Stella cheered at her victory. "I'm up first!" She gave Dean an evil wink and a grin.
Dean rolled his eyes, giving her a challenging look. "Oh, please... oh no, please don't haunt me..."
"SURPRISE!" Stella yelled, making him jump before blasting Dean in the face with a green cloud of her horrible breath!
"Ack! Augh!" Dean coughed and spluttered, caught completely off guard by the stinky attack and stumbling away as the sisters burst out laughing.
"Time to teach you a little respect," Lena said with a wicked grin.
"Dean!" Katherine cried out, still running and hurrying up the stairs.
While Dean was disoriented, Bertha then inhaled and seemed to grow even larger like a balloon as she took in endless amounts of air into her ghostly body. Dean shook his head dizzily as he looked up at the large Bertha with wide eyes.
"Weather forecast calls for heavy winds!" Lena announced.
WHOOSH! Bertha blew all the stored up air at the poor boy.
"Whaa!" Dean cried out as he was gusted by a strong wind, stumbling into the railing and shutting his eyes tightly against the wind pinning him in place. The wind slowed to a stop as Dean leaned against the railing in a daze, wincing and groaning, his messy hair in his face.
Lena laughed at the disheveled teen. "Didn't have to be like this, handsome!" She winked and nodded at Bertha.
Dean tried to straighten up, but another blast of wind from Bertha knocked him off balance again. "Uff!" He leaned against the railing again, clutching it tightly and shaking his hair from his face.
"You brought this on yourself!" Lena taunted, nodding at Bertha again. Whoosh!
"Ugh!" Dean yelped as he was knocked back again, holding onto the railing with one hand as he flailed around in the wind as the sisters laughed, and then whistled and cheered as his shirt blew up from the wind, showing off his abs to them.
As the wind finally stopped, Dean stumbled away from the railing at last as Bertha raised Katherine's camera to Dean's face again, blinding the unsuspecting teen with another flash. "Ahh!" Dean yelled, clumsily stumbling back.
"Get away from my son!" Katherine yelled as she got close enough. She hurried to Dean, but the sisters grabbed Dean's arms and pulled him up into the air, carrying him over to the other side of the hall. "Hey!"
"Sorry, family discussion!" Bertha called over to a frustrated Katherine as they set Dean down. She hip-checked him as he stumbled and fell to the floor, his eyes shut as he landed. Lena grinned and flew into him as his eyes were closed.
Dean picked himself up shakily, unaware of what happened... until his feet started to move by themselves. "Whoa!" Dean cried out, lurching back and forth as his legs moved without his command.
"May I have this dance?" Lena asked evilly through his own mouth.
Dean's eyes widened, realizing he'd been possessed! His arms went up seemingly on their own and his feet performed complex dance steps. He twirled around, spinning his arms in the air as he started shaking his hips in a sexy dance fashion!
Stella wolf-whistled. "Nice butt!" She cat-called, flying by and slapping him on the butt, making him jump. Bertha bumped him again as Lena flew out of his body. She pulled him close by one hand and then began twirling him around.
"Let him go right now!" Katherine yelled.
"As you wish!" Lena said, letting him go, laughing as he stumbled around dizzily. "So, have you learned your lesson?" She asked.
"Ugh... where am I...?" Dean mumbled in confusion at the tilting room.
"Guess not!" She declared, grabbing him by the back of his shirt collar, lifting him into the air and looking over at the railing. "What do ya think? Let you go over the edge?" She asked with a grin as Dean's eyes widened.
"ENOUGH!" Dean's torment finally stopped, and they looked up to see Vera floating in the hall at last, glaring furiously at her sisters.
"Oh, come on, I wasn't actually gonna drop him-"
"Shut up!" Vera yelled at her, startling everyone.
Lena glared. "What did you-?"
"I said shut up!" The sisters all stared at her in shock.
"Put him down and get away from him... NOW." Lena quickly did.
Katherine rushed over to her son and the two looked up at the young ghost girl as well.
