Caden's head shot up from the desk, his cheeks flushing red. He was currently still on top of Nora, who was smiling in her sleep. "What in the what was that deram?" He asked himself, putting a paw on his forehead. "It was kinda nice."
"Cade!" Sam walked inside the dark classroom. "Class ended ten minutes ago. Hina and I have been waiting for you to go to Headmaster G's office."
"Yeah… But I'm too comfortable here." He replied, softly petting Nora's head. "And besides, she's a cute sleeper."
The Pikachu sighed while giving a nervous look at Hina outside. "Arceus, why can't you tell Nora that you like her?"
"Well I did… In a dream just now." Caden blushed softly, realizing that Nora was unconsciously holding onto his paw. "Next, I'll tell her while I'm awake."
"T-Tell…" Nora's eyes slowly opened to realize that she was drooling. She glanced down at one of her paws. "Still a Pokémon…. What happened to us?"
"We took a nap." The male Zorua answered, laughing softly at her. "You're really comfortable, you know?"
"We did?" The female Zoura asked, her voice still groggy. "I guess that explains why this room is dark. We must have finished school today.
"You two look so adorable, we couldn't wake you up!" A voice gushed, walking in. "When class ended, Sammy tried, but Cade just started to growl."
"Wow, Cade…" Nora remarked, now fully awake. "It's like you're a bodyguard or something."
"Well yeah…" The male Zorua blushed, realizing his arms were still wrapped around her. "You protect me while we're awake, it's the least I can do."
"Aww…" Nora gave a giggle towards Caden. "Thanks, buddy. What do ya say we get out of here?"
"Do we have to?" He pouted, looking down at her with a pleading expression. "You're so soft…"
The Pikachu sighed. "Yes we do. We have to get you two back to your house to do—." He quickly stopped himself to realize Hina was still here. "Pokémon things." Sam pumped a fist to himself. "Saved it."
"Fine then…" Caden sighed, quickly nuzzling Nora and getting off. "...It's so cold here alone…"
"Chin up, Buddy!" Hina gave an enthusiastic smile. "You can cuddle her later."
"Well, not as Pokémon." Nora mentioned telepathically. "But we could still cuddle as humans though." She hopped off her chair and smiled. "Alright, let's head to Headmaster G first. We should say thank you."
"Yeah. We probably should. I'm hungry for food at home. If it isn't leftovers again…" The two Zoura nodded and started walking towards the right direction.
"Ironically, I've never met the Headmaster face to face," Sam mentioned. "Even though she's sPokén to me telepathically."
"Hm… Weird." Hina remarked, putting a paw to her chin. "Well now's your chance to meet her, Sammy!" The walk didn't take too long, since it was across the school.
Nora paused herself to think. "Guys I just realized, if we bring her inside, we're gonna have to tell her about me and Cade."
"Tell her about which thing about me and you?" The male Zorua tilted his head. "Because there are a few things going on… I think." He could hear the facepalming of Sam in the background.
"Just…" The female Zoura debated in her mind to say. She eventually sighed. "Go inside Caden, so she can turn you back."
"Turn him back? From what? And what is there to tell me?" She tilted her head. "Well I mean Nora already told me something, but is there anything else?"
Sam looked away for a few seconds. "I think Headmaster G has the explanation." He simply responded while looking around.
"Yeah… I'd like to know that explanation, too." Caden agreed. "Just wait until then."
"You have gotta be kidding Cade…" Nora walked inside the office sighing. "Have you forgotten everything about today?"
The male Zorua thought, his face turning red. "Well I kinda forgot the explanation. Too much has happened!"
The Pikachu sighed as he and the female Zoura looked up at the Gardevoir. "H-Hi Headmaster G!"
"Hello, young scholars." The Gardevoir gave the four a calm smile. "I see that you two have made some friends since I saw you this morning."
"Yup!" Nora nodded in response. "Technically, you did assign Sam to us, but I guess we wanted to let Hina in on the secret." She rubbed her neck for a few seconds. "Or well, we didn't tell her accidentally."
"If you really trust her, then I'll allow it." G replied, coming closer to the group. "Would you like for me to change you back now?"
"...Change back?" The Eevee tilted her head confusedly. "What is she talking about, you guys?"
"Shh…" Sam tried to cover Hina's muzzle. "This is the best part. Just watch."
Nora glanced at Caden looking at him. She placed a paw on his paw and nodded. "Now I'm ready."
Caden blushed, but nodded in agreement. Headmaster G smiled softly before her eyes glowed purple. "As you wish."
The two Zoura started glowing purple and began growing in height, making the Pikachu beside them grin brightly. "Alright!"
For once, Hina looked scared as she whimpered and hid behind Sam. "...Are they evolving or something?"
The Pikachu shook his head while turning behind his head. "Nope, they're transforming into humans!"
"And you're telling me like this?" She whimpered, closing her eyes. "Here and now?"
Sam ignored Nora and Cade almost being done, and kneeled to Hina's height. "Hey, they're not gonna hurt you. In fact, they love Pokémon as well as you and I!"
"Okay…" Hina pushed her nose against his. "...I guess I'll take your word for it." The Eevee remained in that position, giggling softly.
The Pikachu just stood there softly smiling at her. "You two almost done?" He asked Caden.
"Yeah, pretty much." Caden answered, his voice muffled by the floor. "I managed to… Somewhat stick the landing." Sam turned around to see that Caden's face was planted onto the floor.
"You do realize that we could stand up, right?" Nora's face was also on the floor, muffled. "We can stand on two feet, I think."
"Right." He took his face off of the floor, now standing on his knees. He shakily stood up on his two legs, shaking a bit. "Want some help, Nora?"
"Yeah, I do…" She responded while her chest area started growing. She took out a hand. "On one."
"Two…" Caden grabbed her hand, softly blushing at how soft it was. He let out a determined sigh.
"And three!" The two stopped glowing purple and showed their human forms to Sam and Hina. The male pulled Nora upwards. "Thanks, Cade," She said while rubbing her wrist. She looked up to notice something on Caden's eyes. "Are your eyes blue now?"
"I don't know, but are yours?" Caden looked at her eyes confusedly. "Is this some sort of side effec—Ow!" The boy covered his mouth in pain.
"What's wrong?" Nora started looking around his head. "Headmaster, what's—Ow!" She covered her mouth as well, realizing the same pain.
"Well yes, that is a side effect." G replied with a nervous smile. "Your eyes will return to normal soon, but your slightly sharper canine teeth will remain for a while."
"Oh, boy…" Nora rubbed her cheek. "We have to hide our teeth then."
"Don't worry, they aren't that noticeable." The Gardevoir fanned her hand dismissively. "It will be if you look really close, though."
"It won't be that hard to do it, Nora." Caden gave a toothy grin, his sharper teeth showing slightly. "But I am ready to go home, though."
"You bet…" The female teen turned to the other Pokémon. "Right, I forgot about Hina…" She bent down towards the two. "I understand if you're shocked, Hina."
"Nah it's all good, Nora!" The Eevee hugged her knee. "We're still friends, don't worry!"
"Phew!" Sam wiped his head. "That's a relief… Well we better be off, my mom is gonna faint me for being late."
"Same here. My Daddy'll faint me!" Hina exclaimed, beginning to run off. "Better tell him soon, Nora!"
The female smiled before looking at Caden. "I already did, Hina. Don't worry…," she mumbled. "Headmaster, do we have to come back tomorrow for you to transform us again?"
"No, you two should be able to switch between them at will now." She answered, "Now you two better get home before Nora's parents begin to worry."
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Caden sighed contently, stretching his legs. "Thanks for a good first day, Headmaster."
"It's no problem you two. Really." G replied with a brighter smile than usual.
"Bye!" Nora waved while walking outside. "Hope we see you again, Headmaster!"
"You will." She spoke, closing the door softly.
"Well then, let's finally go home." Caden blushed, looking away slightly. "Why do I keep remembering that weird dream?" He looked back to his best friend, his blush going deeper. "And why is she a bit cuter than she was this morning?"
As they were about a block away from their house, Nora's tongue was unconsciously licking her canine teeth, wondering what it was. "...Cade, that wasn't a dream."
"Huh?" He looked over to Nora confusedly. "What wasn't a dream?" His face turned red, looking away slightly.
"...I confessed to you just before we fell asleep." She simply responded, biting her lip. "I just wanted to throw that out there."
"...I really wasn't dreaming that, huh?" Caden stopped walking, looking at her. "W-We really feel the same about each other…"
"Y-Yeah," She slowly nodded. "I-I couldn't believe it either…" She sighed for a few moments. "Let's keep that a secret between you, me, and the Pokémon, okay?"
"That's fair." Caden blushed, moving a bit closer to her.
"Right," She nodded while looking at their house. "Now, how do we explain our blue eyes until at least dinner?" Nora stared at the male's face. "Not that it doesn't look great on you."
The boy's face went bright red. "Y-You too." He looked away in embarrassment. "I mean, we could stay in our room until the blue eyes fade."
"I know…" She thought out loud. "I'm just laying out the possibility of one of us getting caught with the blue eyes, though."
"Let's just say our friends gave us contacts." He suggested. "It's not like they can say they're not contacts, right?"
"Yeah, I guess…" Nora shrugged. "Best case scenario is that this is done before Nate gets home." She looked up in the sky before sighing. "He's gonna be a pain to deal with."
"Well it's an hour until then." Caden replied. "Let's just deal with that problem when it comes. For now, I'm just glad…"
"You're with me…" Nora smiled at the male human. A red hue came upon her. "And we're in this together."
"I always will be." He gave a smile. "I won't let anything change that." Caden softly grabbed her hand, holding it loosely in a bit of fear.
The two finally arrived at the wooden house, and knocked on the door. "Mom! Dad!" Nora shouted at the door. "We're home!"
"The door's unlocked, you can come in!" Her mother replied in the distance.
"Finally home…" Caden sighed as he turned the doorknob and smiled. "Imma go flop into my bed."
"Okay," Nora shrugged. "I just wanna get Emboar's homework over with…" She looked down to realize she wasn't holding the paper Mr. Emboar gave everyone. "Oh, tartar sauce. I forgot to get his paper!"
"I knew you would forget." Caden remarked, pulling out a paper from his bag. "Here, and I'm gonna be in bed."
"Thanks!" She grabbed the paper as the male flopped in his bed. "...I'll be as quiet as possible—ow." Nora's teeth bit into her tongue again. "Okay?"
"...Fine." He pouted, lowering his eyebrows. "I guess I'll just use my pillow, then." He tucked under his blankets and hugged his pillow.
She only gave a thumbs up in response and proceeded to go to work. "Alright, categorizing Pokémon."
"Dad! I'm home!" A familiar voice echoed throughout the house, startling Nora upstairs. "Are Nora and Caden back?"
"Welcome home, Nate." Akio greeted, briefly looking away from his phone. "They're home. They've been in their room since they got home, but I'm not complaining."
The nine-year-old looked at the stairs before stepping on the squeaky bottom step. "I might as well say hi to them, then."
"Shoot!" The female teen hopped from the chair towards Caden's bed, who was still sleeping. "Cade, Nate just arrived. Do we still have blue eyes?"
"Hm?" He opened his eyes groggily before looking at her eyes. "...They're fading, but still a little noticeable. Just turn off the lights, and turn on a lamp. The shade will make it less noticeable." Caden yawned before turning over and closing his eyes. "...Night."
His counterpart looked at a random wall. "I know you're not gonna like it," she responded while a knock came on their door. "But it's for your own good!" Nora used her hands to push the male teen out of the bed. "Wake up!"
"What? Why would you do that?" Caden asked, his face on the floor. "That was completely uncalled for!"
"Um…" Nora's brother rudely peeked inside the two of them. "Am I interrupting something?"
"Unfortunately not." Caden answered with a deadpan expression. "So what'd you need, Nate?"
The young boy started putting his fingers together. "I was wondering how was your day? 'Cause there were many people speaking Japanese in my school…"
"...Cade, let me just help you up, and you explain." The only female decided to take out a hand for Caden to lift himself up with.
"I'm fine without the help." He stood up, cracking his back and facing Nate. "Anyway, all we did today was normal school stuff. Made friends, had a small breakdown, met teachers… There was a surprising amount of students who sPoké English…"
"Really?" Nate quickly moved a bit closer before noticing Nora's eyes. "...Did your 'friends' give both of you those contact thingies?"
The female teen nodded. "Yup! They did." She quickly sat down at the bed. "If you would have met them, they'll probably change your life in a second."
"Yeah. Really." Caden remarked, sitting next to Nora. "But aside from what I already mentioned, and the contacts, it was a normal day at school. It's school."
"Alright, fine." Nate started walking away. "I'll see you for dinner!" Nora immediately closed the door shut.
"Phew... That was a close one."
"Still don't understand why you had to push me out of bed." He let out a small growl. "You could've talked to Nate on your own."
Nora moved right next to him. "I know," she responded while grinning, "but I wanted to give us a little insurance in case these things don't go by dinner."
"Fair enough, well then I guess my job is done." Caden yawned tiredly, putting a hand over his mouth. "...I'll just go back to sleep."
