Jean POV

Over the past week Kelli and her father have been helping me get back to my normal self. Mostly by giving me much needed food and water to get back to full health. Thankfully I was able to keep up with school thanks to COVID19 introducing us to Zoom. Mostly though I was barely conscious enough to process half of what I heard during the meeting. Kelli would take notes for me and during the brief periods I was able to process anything she'd give me a quick summary on what I'd missed.

I was still in pretty bad shape but today was a good day because I could finally walk without support. Nobody was home at the moment so I wasn't seen. But of course Kelli's parents as well as Kelli herself came into the house a moment later. "Jean! You're walking by yourself!" Kelli said in shock. "It's probably best you don't move around too much until you're fully recovered," Kelli's father said, "you're still only 70 pounds when girls your age should be around 105-115 pounds." (This is a true fact). "I know but I was getting restless just sitting there so I wanted to move around a bit." I replied. I wasn't lying either in saying that. I'd barely moved from that bed in the past week. Kelli helped move me on Wednesday when I got showered but other than that I'd remained in bed. Of course I haven't been able to even have my window open either.

My body had noticed something was wrong and activated my werewolf senses which has been causing my ears and tail to be out. "There's yey another reason why you should stay inside," Kelli's father spoke again, "because of your wolf ears and tail." "Jacob she probably wasn't planning on going outside. Either way maybe it's about time this town respects werewolves for a change. It's fucking racist to say that werewolves aren't allowed to show their ears and tail in town." Jacob looked at her and nodded. "You're right!," he exclaimed as his ears and tail appeared, "Let's go and give these bastards a piece of our mind ... after we give Jean some food."

They cook some food and we all eat and I start to feel stronger. All four of us had our wolf ears and tails shown while we awaited leaving to complain about the discrimination werewolves have been put under. As we finished dinner we walked to the town hall and it was clear that Kelli's father had made a few calls.

Upon arriving, there were hundreds of werewolves storming the town hall. The entire police force had to be there to prevent the werewolves from getting inside. As I looked around I noticed many people from my school which was a shock to me. I felt anger surging through me and I walked toward the front of the group and people gladly let me do so. As I reached the front I looked at the one officer dead in the eyes and he looked back.

"Ma'am please back away from the town hall," he said, "or we'll use force." I just started laughing and everyone went silent. "Buddy we're being nice to you guys. Werewolves are very strong, stronger than you'd think. So we're the ones asking you to move before we use force!," I exclaimed as all the werewolves shouted in agreement. All of a sudden, a machine gun was pointed directly at my face.

"I won't ask again," he said sternly. I growled at him and was about to attack. "WAIT!," I heard someone yell and I froze as I saw the mayor walk forward. He seemed like a kind person, minus his law to diminish werewolves. He had on pretty casual clothes and he had brown hair and warm green eyes that gave you a sense if trust from one glance. He seemed strong, of course we were more of a suburban town so we had more nature around us. "Allow that girl to come forward," the mayor said as the cop lowered his gun and stepped to the side.

I walked towards the mayor and looked at him. "So the day has finally come about," he starts "where every werewolf rebels. I knew the day that I wrote that bill that this day would come. However, child, you somehoe managed to controls hundreds of werewolves with one statement. That took courage and power. Those are two things that I can respect. I can tell now that not all werewolves are vicious monsters. So I'll pass a bill that will abolish the law of wereolf segregation and allow us to live as one."

Everyone started cheering and the crowd started to disperse. "So tell me Jean," the mayor continues, "what gave you the courage to speak up to the police officer like that? The power to raly all the werewolves like that?" I just smiled and answered simply, "A love for my cause." "Are you sure you don't have a hidden power? If you don't know about it now you will discover it with time," he says as he walks inside. I just shoom my head and started to walk back home.
