A/N Hey, guys. Welcome back to more of the Degrassi Welcome Back Home series. First of all, I hope you guys are staying safe out there in this crazy world that we live in. Second, I want to thank some of you guys for being patient with me since I've been busy coming up with some ideas on the characters interactions. And third, spring break's been out of the question last month and there might be no spring break for me this month. But, anyway, this is the fourth chapter and hopefully, I will have some of the submitted characters interacting with the OG characters from the series in the next few chapters. I will also do some character pairings soon, so keep any eye out for that.

So, anyway, this is the fourth chapter of the Degrassi Welcome Back Home series, sit back, and let's get to it.

Adam

Adam's been having a good first day of school so far because he already made friends with Melody and Janie and he hopes that he would get to know Melody.

After the gym class ended and changing into his normal clothes, Adam left the gym before someone tapped him on the shoulder before he turned around and Melody was walking beside him.

"Do you mind if we take a walk to class together?" she asked him.

"Nope, not at all. We are friends after all," he replied.

Melody beamed at his response and she started walking beside Adam.

"So uh, how are you liking high school so far?" he asked her.

"It's okay, I guess. Well, I mean, it's been a little better than my old school. I didn't have many friends before high school," she replied.

"Makes sense. There's been some social and interaction issues before. But let's hope that the high school can change that," he agreed.

"I sure hope so," said Melody.

"What was your life like when you were in your old school?" asked Adam.

"Well, it kind of went like this. I didn't have many friends, but just a few. Some of the girls from my old school were jealous of my wavy auburn hair, but I didn't care. I just kind of went on with my school year. But some of the girls bullied me and said no boys would ever like me," Melody replied.

"I hate those kind of drama queens. They always like to start false rumors," he muttered.

"Do you want to hang out after school today? Like maybe to get know each other better?" she asked him.

"I would love to. I've been thinking about asking you if you want to hang out," he replied.

"Mr. Hawthorne and Ms. Taylor. Get to your class," the gym teacher called.

"Cool. So I'll see you at the end of the day?" she said as she walked off to science class.

"Yep. I'll see you then," he said as he walked off to his history class.

Janie

Janie hasn't been having a good day so far. She's been having trouble making friends except that she made friends with Adam Hawthorne and Aisha Crane.

While on her way to geography class, she almost bumps into a female student with a wavy auburn hair and blue eyes.

"Whoa. Sorry," said Janie.

"Don't worry about it," the girl replied as she walked off.

After making it to her geography class, Janie finds an empty desk and sat down on the chair as she placed her backpack on the chair before taking out her pencil case and her binder.

Just then, she looked up and saw a handsome kid with gleamy eyes before she recognized him as her neighbour that lives next door.

Janie quickly adjusted her glasses as the kid gave her a small glance.

"Is this seat taken?" he asked.

"Nope. You may sit down beside me," she replied.

"Thanks," he said.

The kid sat down on the empty desk as he placed his backpack underneath the desk.

Janie then started chewing on her fingernails, trying to figure out on what to say to the kid beside her. She wasn't sure if she wants to introduce herself to him.

"You okay there?" he asked, having noticed of her chewing on her fingernails.

"I'm fine. Just a bad habit," she replied.

"I think I've seen you before. You live next door, right?" he said.

"Yeah, I live next door. I didn't know you would go to this high school," she said.

"I'm James. James McKay," he said as he offered his hand.

"I'm Janie. Janie Thompson," she said as she shook his hand.

"It's nice to meet you Janie," said James.

"It's nice to meet you too James," said Janie.

Carter

Meanwhile with Carter, he's been having a little trouble making friends with some people in school while he's trying to avoid conflicts.

While he was walking to gym class, he spots Aisha and he quickly made his way over to her.

"Hey sis," he said nervously.

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in class?" she asked.

"Well, I should be in gym class right now. But it's just that I'm having a little trouble on making friends right now," he replied.

"So you can come over and talk to me about your situation? You can't just walk up to me and tell me abour your problems everytime Carter," said Aisha.

"It's not my fault that I'm having trouble on making friends," Carter retorted.

"Don't take that tone with me, mister. I've already made some friends. Just go and make friends with some people," she said.

"Mr. and Ms. Crane. Get to your class or you'll be late," the science teacher warned.

"I should get to class. I'll see you at the end of the day Carter," said Aisha as she walked off.

'Great, my older sister just ditched me. Fantastic,' Carter thought to himelf.

Carter made his way to gym class, having brought his own gym clothes and shoes. He walks over to the boys' change room and changed from his normal clothes to his gym clothes before he left the change room and joined his classmates.

As he stretched his arms, Carter glanced at a blonde hair girl with blue eyes and he quickly turned away to avoid eye contact.

"Nice of you to join us, Ms. Reid. You're lucky you came in at the last second before the bell rang," the gym teacher informed.

The blonde girl doesn't say much before she made her way to the girls' change room. Carter hoped that he would avoid getting into a conflict with the blonde girl because he was very observant.

Melody

After the bell rang, signalling at the end of the first day, Melody walked over to her locker and grabbed her backpack before she stashed her first homework assignment and closed her locker as she made her way to meet up with Adam.

While she was walking, Melody avoided bumping into a handsome kid with gleamy eyes as she slung her backpack over her shoulder. She then spotted Adam at his locker, as he was putting his homework and pencil case in his backpack.

"Hey," she said as she leaned against the lockers.

"Hey," he said as he looked up at her.

"You ready to go?" she asked.

"Yep. Let's get going," he replied as he closed his locker and picked up his backpack and slung it over his shoulders.

Adam and Melody walked to the school's front entrance and left the school building as the other students followed.

"How did your first day go?" he asked her.

"It was okay. Except that I got homework to do," she replied.

"Me too. I would always get homework at the end of the first day of school," he said.

"So where do you want to go?" asked Melody.

"You want to hang out at my place? We can do homework together," Adam suggested.

"Sounds perfect. We can take a walk together and have a conversation," she agreed.

Adam and Melody walked beside each other as they smiled at each other.

"Do you have a family?" he asked.

"I have an older brother and two parents. What about you?" she replied.

"A little sister and two parents," he said.

"So you're the oldest in your family," she clarified.

"Yeah, basically. My sister is still in public school right now," he confirmed.

"That's cool. My older brother is in university right now," she said.

After half an hour of walking and having a conversation, the two friends arrived outside of the Hawthorne residence.

"This is my home," Adam said to Melody.

The two friends walked to the front door as Adam unlocked it with his house keys before he and Melody entered. As they walked into the house and took off their shoes, the cat walks up to Adam.

"Hey Chewie," said Adam as he bent down and pet the cat.

Chewie the cat trotted over to Melody before she bent down and petted the cat.

"Chewie likes you. He doesn't take it to anyone else," said Adam.

"He's so cute. I always wanted to adopt a pet," said Melody.

"Come on. My bedroom is upstairs," he said.

Melody walked upstairs with Adam as Chewie the cat followed them. The two friends walked to Adam's bedroom as they set down their backpacks and got their homework out.

"What homework do you have today?" he asked her.

"Science and history. But I'm not a fan of science class," she replied.

"I can help you with your science homework," he offered.

"Really?" asked Melody.

"Yeah. I am good with classes like science," Adam replied.

Ethan

After the first day as a sophomore ended, having made some new friends like James McKay and Carter Crane, Ethan walked back home all by himself.

While he was walking, he asked himself why he had lost his chance to talk to a girl with a wavy auburn hair and blue eyes.

Getting lost in his own thoughts, someone bumps into his shoulder, nearly making him drop his school's backpack and homework on the sidewalk.

"Sorry!" the blonde haired female called.

"What is with people rushing to get home? Can't they just take their time?" he asked himself.

Just then, the blonde haired female turned around and helped Ethan organize his homework neatly. As Ethan studied her appearance, she dressed like a rebellious teenager and he hoped that he would not get on her bad side.

"Sorry about that. I'm just rushing to get home from school," she said.

"You gotta pay attention next time. Otherwise they will lecture you," he said.

After a few minutes of cleaning up and putting away his homework in his backpack, the blonde haired girl decided to leave.

"Hey! You want to take a walk together?" he called.

"Really? You want to take a walk together with me?" she asked.

"Unless if you want to get jumped by some guys you don't know," Ethan replied.

"Fine. But don't try to get on my bad side," she said.

And that will be the end the fourth chapter there for now. So what do you guys think? It took me a while to figure out how the characters would get to know each other. I'm also gonna be adding the character pairings later. If you guys have any character pairings in mind, let me know in the reviews or PM. If anyone is wondering how I'm describing Melody's physical appearance, I thought of her being portrayed by Danielle Rose Russell. But, anyway, the fifth chapter is coming soon and there will be more character interactions. I would like to thank user Phrankster for the reviews so far. The character pairing I currently have in mind right now is Adam and Melody. So yeah, that's pretty much it. Let me know what you guys thought of the fourth chapter in the reviews. Remember, continue to stay safe out there, keep checking in with your friends and loved ones, and drink lots of water. So, have an amazing day, evening, or night at wherever you guys are in the world.
