Chapter 5 - Fly To South Town
Kula and her family had arrived at the airport with the hopes of escaping out of Kansas
"We finally arrived?" - Said the Sleepy Foxy to Whip
"Yes, and it seens today the wheater isn't as bad as some days ago." - Said Whip as she parked the car.
"Seirah, are you sure about this?" - Asked K' unsure about Seirah's plan
"Unless you know a better place to go? Then I'm all ears." - Said Whip
"I can think of lots of better places were we could go instead of a cesspool like South Town." - K'
"K', really? All the places we have visited have been a cesspool for you." - Maxima
"Seirah always pick the worst places to go." - Said K' making his sister angry
"Oh shut up, K'! I'm the one who is paying for the trip so I have decided we will go to South Town." - Whip
"Oh great, let's revive the memories of 2000. Just what we needed." - Said K' remembering the tournament of the year 2000
"You really enjoy being a pain in the ass, isn't it?" - Whip
"I don't tend to agree with K' but are you sure South Town is the best place for us?" - Said Foxy
"Trust me, Foxy. We will be safe in South Town, we just need to arrive, find a good place to lay low and we can start all over again." - Said Whip
"I hope you're right." - Diana
Whip and her family had entered the airport
"Ok, I'll go to buy our passports for the fly. Wait here some moments." - Said Whip as she left her family waiting in the couches of the airport
"(I'm really worried about Kula, she hasn't said a thing after she said goodbye to Amelia. All of this must have hit her harder than us... Kula. I can't blame her, even I'm kinda afraid of going to South Town. Maybe we will be able to escape them but I doubt we can escape whatever that thing that destroyed our house was.)" - Thought Whip seeing how silent Kula had been
"(Who the hell was that? I never saw something like her during the time I worked for NESTS but what if they sended her after us?)" - Whip started to think about a possible connection between Matriarch and the strange men that were stalking them
In that moment two men and one woman were watching Whip and the rest in the distance.
"Yes, as I said we have visial contact with the targets. We manage to spy on their conversation, it seens they are planning to go to South Town." - Said one of the men to the control tower
"Good! I guess it was a good idea to send you three to that airport." - Said the man in the control tower
"Any sights of our stranger that killed two of our agents?" - Asked control tower.
"None at the moment. Everything seens calm." - Said The Agent
"Good. Good. Proceed with the plan then." - Said Control Tower
"Alright! Ending call." - Said The Agent
"He sounded nervous when he mentioned that thing." - Said The Female Agent
"He has a good reason, that thing seens to know much." - Agent
"I wonder, do we have some kind of plan if we run with that creature?" - Said The Female Agent
"That's the problem, we don't have any." - Said The Agent as they entered to follow Whip
Meanwhile in another place
A shadow walked towards the tomb of Amelia, it was not other than Matriarch
"(They stayed here for three hours.)" - Thought Matriarch analizing the footprints that Kula and her family left close to the tomb of Amelia
"(They are hundreds of meters away now... The closest airport. Hmph! They plan to escape in a plane.)" - Thought Matriarch seeing the route of the tracker she had put on K'
"(As long as they still have the tracker I'll be able to find them. I'll leave them thinking they are safe for now, I'll have to repair the teleport device and upgrade the armor, it seens those stupid flames damaged some of my equipment.)" - Matriarch
"(30% of battery, it seens I have enough left to return back at HQ.)" - Matriarch pulls out a strange hexagonal device
In that moment Matriarch disappears in thin air
Somewhere in Alaska
A strange figure appears out of thin air...
"(I'm back!)" - Thought Matriarch appearing in Alaska
Matriarch starts walking in the snow. She cames around a strange giant capsule in middle of nowhere
Matriarch enters the strange place, she walks through what looks like a forgotten laboratory, then she takes a elevator to a section more hidden underground. Arriving to a place full of capsules where probably experiments were put to rest.
Matriarch comes to a dark room with a chair that is connected to alot of tubes and machines.
"Activate lights!" - After saying that the room where Matriarch was becomes full of light, she then sits
In that moment a strange armored woman with wings enters to the room
"Mother! You returned. Was the mission successful?" - Said The Strange Harpy
"No, Tessa. My encounter with our pals from NESTS didn't ended as I thought... " - Said Matriarch vey tired
"Mother! I've never seen you like that, what happened?" - The Strange Harpy lady was worried
"The armor recieved severe damage, I need to upgrade it before I visit them again and repair the teleport device too." - Said Matriarch connecting a big cord on her helmet
"Do not worry, Mother. Me and Athur will repair the teleport device." - Said Tessa the Harpy
"Go ahead but first, I need to talk with the rest of your brothers, call them." - Matriarch
"Let me wake them up." - Tessa
In that moment Tessa pulls out a small bell and starts touching it, the sound it generates creates a giant echo that is heared in the entired place
"Mother. What happened? Did everything went alright." - Said another armored woman with horns coming out the sides of her head entering the room alongside two men, one with gray hair and reptilian eyes and another with sharp teeth and goat feet
"Annette. Remy. Arthur. Unfortunately the plan didn't go as I planned but not everything was a failure." - Said Matriarch showing in the wall the current ubication of Kula and her family
"It seens the trackers worked!" - Said Arthur
"Yes, I manage to put one in the leg of one of them. As long as they don't remove it, I should be able to find them easily." - Said Matriarch
"I'm glad all the time that went on creating them wasn't a waste." - Arthur
"Mother, it seens the armor recieved very servere damage. Some of the weapons are almost fried, did you enter in a volcano?" - Said Tessa looking at the status of Matriarch's armor
"Almost. But no, it seens the armor is a little bit sensitive to fire..." - Said Matriarch remembering being hit by the flames of K', a burning piece of wood by Kula in the head and a big chunk of wood in flames that fell on top of her.
"Interesting. I know we needed to test the armor more." - Said Arthur
"I'm not plan of letting that happen again, can you upgrade the armor so it can resist all types of burns?" - Said Matriarch
"I can but It will take some days." - Arthur
"Go ahead." - Said Matriarch
"Alright in the meantime me and Remy will work on repair the teleport device." - Said Tessa and Remy as they took the device to the other lab, leaving Matriarch, Arthur and Annette
"Mother." - Annette came closer to Matriarch
"Yes?" - Said Matriarch as she was being healed up
"Do you really want to continue with this mission?" - Asked Annette
"Of course, we haven't come this far to leave now! I'm not planning to stop until I have destroyed them...(Cough.)" - Said Matriarch
"Are you sure that this are the right people?" - Annette
"YES! Of that there's not doubt." - Matriarch
"I see." - Said Annette
"(But what if there's consequences?)" - Thought Annette leaving the room
Meanwhile inside the plane.
Two hours had passed since the plane had started flying, Diana and Whip were sitting together. While Maxima and Foxy were in the seats behind them and for the annoyance of K' he was forced to sit alongside Kula
"(Can't believe Seirah convinced me to sit with Kula, in moments like this I doubt I can be of any help for her. She probably is still angry about the sweater knowing her.)" - Thought K' looking at the depressed Kula
"(Do you really think in moments like this she wants to talk with me?)" - K' Remembered his conversation with Seirah before entering the plane
"(This is the moment when she really needs you the most, K'. You're the only one that can make her happy again and help her to surpass this loss, she deserves a compensation after how bad have you treated her.)" - Said Seirah
After remembering that, K' looked back at Kula
"Kula." - Said K'
"What?" - Said Kula in a depressed tone
"... I'm sorry." - Said K'
"..." - Kula didn't answer at first, she was kinda surprised to hear those words from him
"I'm sorry - about everything, the sweater, not buying you a gift and what happened to Amelia." - K' proceeded to take his sunglasses off looking at Kula in the eyes a little bit sad
Kula looked surprised at the eyes of K', she know he was being sincere with his words and in a weird way hearing that coming from him made her feel a little bit better
"I know how much Amelia mean to you. She was a good girl and - I'm going to miss her too." - K'
"She was the my biggest friend. I feel so alone now." - Said Kula cleaning the few tears that were on her eyes
K' then put his hand in her shoulder
"You're not alone, after all you have me. We are friends." - Said K' with a little smile on his face surprising Kula, for her seeing him smiling was something rare
Kula then looked back at K', they both looked to the eyes and in that moment Kula asked.
"... Only friends?" - Asked Kula grabing his face in a cute way
K' know what she was trying to say, he know that Kula wanted more than just his friendship but in that moment he just didn't know what to answer to that question
"... Is ok! I'm sorry if that freaked you out." - Kula removed her hand of his face a bit ashamed, then looked down she know maybe asking that was not a good idea at the moment and felt sorry
"Anyway. Thanks K'! I really needed hearing that from you." - Kula rested her head on K' shoulders
"Wake me up when we arrive, ok?" - Kula
In that moment Kula started falling asleep, K' let her rest on his shoulder as he know she had been unable to do it for the past days.
"Sweet dreams, Kula." - K'
"(Trust me, Kula. If that thing appears ever again. I won't let her lay a finger on you.)" - Thought K' referring to Matriarch
At three seats away from them, the three agents that were following had been hearing the conversation
"Hmph! How cute." - Said The Female Agent to her partners
