Chapter 4:

Back at the Slytherin table, the Slytherin Prefect says for the first year Slytherins to follow them. Lily follows Pansy, Daphne, Theodore, Blasie, and Draco to the Slytherin common room. Pansy says, "Welcome to the Slytherin common room!" The common room is a dungeon-like room with greenish lamps and chairs. This dungeon extends partway under the lake, giving the light in the room a green tinge. The common room has lots of low-backed black and dark green button-tufted, leather sofas; skulls; and dark wood cupboards. Lily was led to the Girl's dorm with Daphne and Pansy. Her trunk was sitting on her new four-poster bed with a Slytherin tie, scarf, and her robes magically turned into Slytherin ones. Pansy started the conversation, "So Lily, what is your full name?" Lily says, "Well my full name is Lily Athena Riddle or Ravenclaw." Daphne smiled, "So your middle name is the Greek goddess Athena." Lily nodded, "Yup, my mom wanted that to be my name." Daphne and Pansy nodded. "Well, It is almost curfew we should get to bed," said Daphne. Pansy laughed, "When have you cared, Greengrass? I thought you were an evil scheming Slytherin." Daphne smiled, "I just want Slytherin to win the House Cup this year and not let those Gryffindorks beat us again." Lily looked at Daphne and Pansy, "If Slytherin did not win the House Cup last year, who did?" Pansy sighed, "The stupid Gryffindorks won for bravery, beating a giant game of chess, good use of logic, and standing up to friends." Daphne continued the conversation "Potter won sixty points for bravery, Weasley won sixty points for beating a giant game of chess, Granger won sixty points for good use of logic, and Longbottom won ten points for standing up to friends. Dumbledore just gave them points last minute so that they could win the House Cup." Lily gasped, "WHAT! Dumbledore did What!?" Pansy nodded, "He gave the Gryffindor's just enough points to beat us in the House Cup." Lily sighed, "That is so stupid. I know what we should do to win the House Cup." "What are you thinking Lily?" said Daphne. "Well," Lily said, "If we do well in Potions class with Professor Snape we will get points, also if we win more quidditch matches, answer more questions in our classes, and do the extra credit, we could this year take the House Cup!" Pansy asked, "But how are we going to tell the entire house to help win?" "Ok," Lily said, "Who are the Slytherin prefects?" "Let me see," said Daphne, "Astoria Greengrass, my sister, is Slytherin's female prefect, and Marcus Flint is Slytherin's male prefect. I could send my sister a letter asking her to enforce participation in classes and extra credit. Also, she could tell Marcus Flint to work the Slytherin quidditch team to work harder to win more quidditch matches." Both Lily and Pansy said at the same time, "That sounds like an excellent idea!" Then Lily said, "Can you write to her now?" Daphne scratched her head, "I can try. But I don't know if she is asleep yet." Lily nodded, "Go ahead." Daphne writes

Dearest Astoria,

I hope you're well! My new roommate is Lily Ravenclaw (Riddle) and she came up with a good way to beat Gryffindor's for the House Cup! She says that the Slytherin prefects can encourage the Slytherin students to participate in class and earn extra credit. Also, could you could tell Marcus Flint to work the Slytherin quidditch team harder to win more quidditch matches.

Thanks, Daphne.

Daphne then folded the letter and sent it with Pluto her owl. Pansy and Lily had finally drifted off to sleep and unpacked their trunks. So she climbed into her bed and fell fast asleep till morning.
