Chapter two
They stood outside the office. Luka studied the girl in front of him. He was surprised to see the confidence in her...it was something she had lacked in the past. He smirked as he realized that Ace had been right and her teal tips matched his perfectly. He briefly wondered if it had been done on purpose.
"You look good Marinette," he said
"Thanks and you look great as always," she said a faint blush staining her cheeks
"Are you busy after school," they both said at the same time. Marinette blushed as she started laughing.
"I guess that answers my question," Luka smirked, "want to get a coffee after school?"
"With you always," Marinette said, "however for now how about you show me around"
"Absolutely," He smiled as he led the way around the school.
Marinette smiled as Luka showed her around. She took a moment to study him as they walked. His hair was longer and the teal was a deeper color than she remembered. He was taller and definitely more muscular. He walked with the same smooth confidence. His smile was the same soothing comfort but his eyes held pain. Something that hadn't been there before. She was tempted to ask but knew she shouldn't. By the time the bell rang signaling the end of class she felt confident enough for class the next day.
"Thanks Luka," she smiled, "you still have classes today right?"
"Yeah" he smiled
"You want to meet me at the cafe after you finish with school?"
"I assume you mean our cafe" he smirked
"Yes,"
"Sure," he smiled, "around 4?"
"Sounds good Luka see you at 4," she grinned. She waved as she walked away.
He watched her walk away with a smile plastered on his face as he headed to his next class. He walked into class with a smile. Ace looked at him in surprise. Liza's eyes went wide when she saw the familiar look on Luka's face. "I take it, whatever that was, went well,"
"Yeah I missed her melody playing," Luka said, "we are meeting at our cafe after school"
"Are you sure about this Luka?" Liza asked
"Yeah man don't get me wrong Mari was cool but it has been two years" Ace said
"I am sure," Luka said, "if nothing else it will bring closure"
Meanwhile elsewhere in Paris
Juleka, Rose, Nathaniel, Ivan, and Mylène sat off to the far side of the cafeteria. They talked quietly and carefully worded everything they said.
"Mylène, is your mom still offering home schooling?" Nathaniel asked
"Yeah why?"
"Are you considering it?" Rose asked
"I don't know," he sighed, "Lila is getting worse and I don't know if I can take this anymore"
"I miss Marinette she always knew what to do" Rose sighed sadly
"Don't let Lila hear you say her name" Nathaniel said softly
"Hey guys look," Juleka smiled showing them a message on her phone
MDC: Hey Juleka, Rose and everyone! Guess who is back in town
Rose snatched the phone and quickly typed a reply
JC:I MISSED YOU COME SEE US!
MDC: Hey Rose I miss you all too! Sorry I can't come right now but you should all come over after supper tonight
JC: why not after school
MDC: I am meeting with Luka for coffee after school
Juleka squealed snatching the phone back and responding
JC: Holy shit you are not completly stupid after all
MDC: Hey Juleka I resent that lol
MDC: but you are right no more stupid for me :)
MDC: Hey if any of you have Choe, Adrien, or Sabrina's number you should invite them too
JC:Okay I'll tell the group. I will send Alix a message too. She is doing homeschool this term
MDC:Awesome! Just let me know who is all coming
MDC: I can't wait to see you all
JC: :)
Juleka smiled and put her phone away and they continued talking quietly. Lila watched from across the room.
"They are planning something," she said to Alya and Nino
"Probably just another pathetic concert," Alya said, rolling her eyes. Nino looked over at the girls and sighed silently so he would not evoke Lila's wrath.
"God could they be any more pathetic," Lila said rolling her eyes, "I mean nobody cares about their silly music"
The bell rang signaling the end of the lunch period. Lila attempted to get behind them to listen to their conversation but they remained silent. With a huff she shoved past them and went to her desk.
Across town
Adrien, Chloe, Sabrina and Kagami sat in class. Kagami was looking at her phone in annoyance. She had received another message from her mother demanding that she improve her fencing. She sighed in annoyance before showing Adrien the message. He nodded letting her know they could meet after school. She smiled. She was about to put her phone away when she got another message. She grinned as she read the message.
MDC: Hey Kagami, are you busy this evening?
K: Does this mean you made it back in one piece
MDC: Yes and I brought a new friend back with me :)
MDC: I am inviting everyone else over after supper but I would love it if you could come over for supper? If you want I can talk to your mom
K: I will be there! I have fencing after school with Adrien should I tell him? Mom will be glad to hear you are back.
MDC: Absolutely and have him tell Chloe and Sabrina too please
K: Really?
MDC: Yes
MDC: I am dying for Chloe to meet Ro!
Kagami laughed silently as she read the messages. Adrien looked at her in confusion. She smiled and showed him the messages. He grinned.
"Hey Chloe guess who is back in town" he said
"I have no idea"
"Marinette" he smiled, "she wants us to come over tonight"
"Really" Chloe smiled "I will tell daddykins. Sabrina you are coming right?"
"Of course Chloe"
K:They will be there too! Everyone says hi!
MDC: Awesome. I take it you are with them now?
K: Yes
MDC:Awesome
K:Chloe says who is Ro?
K:Don't worry I won't say anything until they meet Ro lol
MDC: I can't wait! Anyway I have to go I have a meeting before coffee with Luka so I will see you all later
K: Luka!
MDC: Yes Luka
K: Are you going to tell him?
MDC: Maybe ;) We'll see how coffee goes. I am just glad he is talking to me
K: We told you he missed you
MDC: I know I know Okay got to go I am going to be late
K:Okay see you tonight!
MDC: Can't wait
