Gaining Domains and A Floating Island

The group including all the Olympian gods and their allied Titans stood at the peak of the mountain Olympus located to the southwest of an up-and-coming city called Atera. The Mountain was also hundreds of miles north of Mount Othrys where the Titans operated from.

Perseus turned to his companions and deciding that some introductions were in order started gaining the attention of the rest of the deities "Hello dear siblings, let's get some introductions before anything else" He said with a charismatic smile on his face. He continued "My name is Perseus elder twin of Zeus and a son of Kronos" One of the women gasped slightly at the revelation, but Perseus couldn't figure out who it was so he ignored it. Perseus had found out that if a deity was either paying attention or really close, that they could upon the use of their names, but he decided that concerning his father's latest status, he could afford to use for now.

Hades started which was a little redundant considering that everyone had already heard about his name. "Well I am Hades" he looked at me and Zeus before gesturing to his brother standing at his side. "I am Poseidon," The sea green-eyed man said after receiving a kick to the shin from his sister standing at his side. The light brown-haired sister continued "Hera, a pleasure" she said with a coy. That Perseus was slightly unnerved by the intensity in her eyes and quickly shifted his attention to the blonde-haired beauty. "Demeter," She replied in a delicate voice. Perseus managed to break eye contact whit her quite quickly and looked at the last woman who finished "Hestia" she said warmly.

The Titans were next and Rhea began in a pained voice because this wasn't what a mother should have to do with her own children but she started nonetheless showing her strong character. "My name is Rhea, and I am your mother," She said to her now escaped children. At that, her children broke their cold facade and rushed up to her in a hug. Even Hera showed a hidden soft spot with being the second to embrace her mother. Of course, the one in the lead was an openly crying Hestia who was quick to burrow herself into Rhea's arms.

The rest of the siblings except Zeus and Perseus followed and they eventually broke it up. Hestia though was still in the arms of their mother but had shifted her attention to the rest of the allied Titans.

Métis standing alongside Zeus was next "I am Métis" she said with a meaningful look at everyone present before returning to her previous position. Finally, they came to Hecate and she jolted from her thoughts when she abruptly had everyone's attention she squeaked a little bit in embarrassment before Perseus emitted a mental message to her. She sent a quick appreciative smile to him before finishing the introductions "Call me Hecate" Before she was lost to her thoughts again.

'Damn she's been silent, I had totally forgotten about her...' Perseus thought a little guiltily. "Well, now we have had our introductions. I assume that you have been informed about our little... project?" He saw a string of nods from the gathered deities.

"Then without further ado, let's establish a floating island home!"

The deities all assumed their true forms letting their power ripple through the air before flying up in the air with all kinds of' building materials' floating behind them. Zeus and Perseus jointly conjured quite a big island which they held in place six hundred meters over the peak. Rhea, Métis, and Hecate quickly began to chant in a haunting pitch very quickly using their superior Titan power to make the island levitate and stay in place unless they or Zeus and Perseus allowed it to move. They finished chanting and Perseus and Zeus cautiously let their power recede into their bodies.

The island was maybe 5 by 5 miles on its surface with its highest point being a flat plateau at the edge of one of the sides. Everything else was lined up in rows up to the plateau. Hecate let her mist cover the bottom of the island and its shadow that had previously darkened the whole mountain under it suddenly disappeared.

If any mortal within twenty miles in any direction had watched the site they had either incinerated by the sight or gotten their retinas half-burned if they stood at even fifteen miles distance and if they had stood at twenty they would have seen the light show of their lives.

The other children of Kronos flew in with walls, floors, and a brick-tiled roof quickly assembled into a big rectangular building at the top plateau. With a big doorway were Perseus and Zeus put two big bronze doors.

The builders landed and receded into their mortal forms again. They looked with varying degrees of satisfaction but they were all quite proud of their work well not Hestia because she had no pride in herself which was a little problem but she was proud of her siblings' achievement.

Perseus and Zeus led the rest of the deities through the twenty feet high bronze doors and into the giant empty hall. "I have discovered that if one would place one's essence in a non-movable object like a throne or something like that, you will massively increase your power and it would be a sign of loyalty to us because they can't be moved after being imbued without being either rejected by the council I and Zeus have come up with or it if it is destroyed. And that's where the risk lays because you imbue about half of your essence and if you rely too much upon it you could... fade or at least have to reform for millennia at least. So let this be a warning" Perseus said seriously.

"But the benefits are acceptable for the risks because you have a massive power boost, you cannot fade while it stands, it would be an oath of loyalty to us and it would gain you a council position" The Titans already knew that this offer wasn't for them but they felt a pang of regret that they all swore not to include themselves in this so they separated from the rest of the godlings and waited on the sidelines.

Perseus could see that he had gained the attention of his siblings even the humble Hestia was hooked on at his declarations. "I and Zeus have concluded that we will be the orators of this hypothetical assembly and given the title of the Kings of our council, all in favor?" Poseidon looked a little rebellious at that but held his tongue.

"So what do you say to overthrowing the tyrannical Titans and ushering in a new Golden Age of prosperity for our beloved homeland," He said with religious fervor and a purely excited voice. He sent an apologetic look at the present Titans when he said 'the tyrannical Titans' but they looked unaffected.

Perseus's siblings eventually agreed to the proposal one by one and Zeus took over "We shall defeat these because we are the..." He paused when he heard Perseus mentally relaying his proposition for their titles. "The Gods of Olympus, the seven Olympian gods who will be remembered for all of eternity, who overthrew the monstrous Titans and were the greatest rulers Gaia had since The Creator". Zeus said with satisfaction unmistakably coloring his voice and the reaction was positive with the rest of the Olympian Gods agreeing full-heartedly.

Four hours later

The imbuing of their essence took a while with each one having to take turns to not mix their thrones together which was what everyone decided to imbue their essence into except Hestia who for some reason made a hearth and used that as a power anchor.

So now six thrones surrounded the hearth in the middle of its Ω-shape. The gods sat in their respective thrones with Hestia sitting in the middle of the hearth just listening to her family. Zeus and Perseus were side by side on the left and right respectively. Poseidon sitting next to Zeus on his right and Hera sitting on Perseus's left with Demeter following her on the left flank while Hades concluded the male side. They had to be in their godly height of fifteen feet to actually sit upon their thrones which of course was another stunt of Zeus to further alienate the council from anyone else meeting them.

Their allied Titans were fixed in some guest thrones on the end of the female side. The thrones were currently undecorated except for some hues in their marble thrones for example Zeus had an electric blue hue of his throne, Poseidon had a more sea-blue color, Hades had a matching throne to his onyx colored eyes, Demeter had an earthly tone of brown, Hera had a golden hue with green spots, and Perseus had a black marble throne with golden hues.

Zeus snapped his finger making a booming sound even if he already had the attention of the rest of the council. 'Show off' Perseus thought to himself while mentally shaking his head in exasperation at his brother's antics. "The first council meeting of the Olympian council is in session," Zeus said dramatically while banging his hand on his armrest making an impossible sound sounding like a banging gavel. Perseus rolled his eyes and Demeter giggled silently at her brothers' antics.

Perseus proceeded"This meeting's issues for today is, How will we press our advantage against the Titans and should we even do it already? We have some Titans who probably be neutral in this coming conflict, What will be our general stance against neutral Titans? What will be our standard scheduling for the council meetings? And finally, we will discuss how we will eventually react to applications and nominations for new councilors?" The gods nodded with Poseidon lighting up at the first point of the day.

Before the Gods of Olympus could even discuss their first point they were rudely interrupted by a... trio of grandmas? Rhea's eyes widened when she saw them and went to kneel with the rest of the Titans quickly following though Métis kneeled in a very awkward manner with her slightly bulging stomach twisted to the to not let hit anything 'curious' Perseus thought to himself before quickly following them with Demeter and Hestia following him a moment later.

But that was it, the rest of the council continued to sit on their thrones with befuddled expressions before Hades's eyes widened in recognition and he also followed onto his knees.

Rhea started in a respectful voice "Lady F..." she was rudely interrupted by her youngest son and her eyes widened in fear at his disrespectful voice. "And who are you to interrupt this council meeting!" He said in an affronted voice not noticing the kneeling deities wincing and that he would have found that out if he had let his mother finish.

The three old women had expressionless faces but their eyes hardened a fraction and one of the women took a scissor and an electric blue thread into her hands not doing anything but it was a clear threat to any who knew who they were. "We are the fates, godling!" They said at the same time in an uncanny display of divine showboating.

If Rhea had learned one thing in her life then it was that fucking with the fates was a bad idea and it was very effective to cut a deity's life expectancy in two. That's the reason why Kronos got his prophecy about his sons that would overthrow him after he disrespected the Fates. But she held her tongue because while the fates were harsh, they did have a small sense of justification for their punishments so Rhea hoped that they would forgive her son's disrespectful comments.

Zeus still had an arrogant expression on his face, not the fastest bolt of lightning in the sky(pun intended... I will see myself out). Understanding eventually dawned on his features, by then the rest of the council had already figured it out so they were already on their knees although some did it with obvious reluctance.

Even knowing who he was dealing with, he continued with his arrogant attitude and looked down his nose at the small beings. "But, how can You be the mighty fates? You don't look too mighty to me" He finished distastefully. He was unknowingly digging a deeper grave for himself and he didn't see it.

The Fates actually looked shocked at his stupidity before their facial features hardened, the godling had obliviously crossed a line. The one with the scissors brought them to the electric blue thread in her hands and seemingly at random made a little cut, it didn't cut through only being a little cut dangerously close to snapping but somehow managing to hold itself together.

It became totally silent in the hall and everyone looked at Zeus with bated breath while he looked confused at what they thought would happen. Suddenly his muscles flexed and he looked like he had a heart attack. The spectators of this show looked at him with grim curiosity unable to look away from the horrible show.

Zeus fell from his throne face planting onto the hard marble floor of the hall. Perseus mentally winced when he heard the crack sounding when Zeus landed. Zeus breathlessly heaved on the ground. "Mercy! Mercy, Lady Fates please have mercy for my son" Rhea said when she saw her son's current status. Perseus went up to his mother and held him in his arms whispering into her ear eventually reducing her to only sob into his shoulder.

"Please, Lady Fates for my mother's health, please have mercy upon my idiotic brother," Perseus says respectfully with his mother shaking in his arms. The Fates look down on him with interest in his familial loyalty and concern while managing to be a self-righteous prick all the same. They of course knew his... fate. But it was fluid and they didn't want to know everything either so they also could be surprised, even if these were events that they had thought up millennia ago.

"We cannot do anything for him now. You cannot change fate after it has happened, but he will, unfortunately, survive" The closest woman said to him finishing in a disappointed voice.

Zeus turned onto his back with shut eyes breathing laboriously, before rising to his knees in subservient fashion still a show-off at heart before beginning dramatically "I admit defeat Lady Fates" he bowed his head and waited for a reply.

The Fates looked faintly amused by the display, but that didn't show in their voice when they once again talked jointly "This better not happen for a second time" They said imperiously and Zeus nodded his head. The 'or else' wasn't lost on the spectators but their thoughts were interrupted by The Fates once again talking "You can take your seats again, we actually had something to do before you rudely interrupted us" The last part was directed at a certain godling, who winced looking like a kicked puppy(though not as cute).

They began again once every councilor and their allies had sat their bottoms onto their respective seats. "The Olympian Gods as you are known as now, are to gain their domains and other assorted titles" They looked at Zeus "Zeus son of Kronos King of the Gods step forward" Zeus sighed nearly unnoticed by anyone other than Perseus who tittered quietly before sealing his mouth at the responding gaze from The Fates.

Zeus stooped in front of them and they commenced. "Zeus Son of Kronos King of the Gods is to be the God of Thunder, The Sky, The Weather, The Winds, The Air, Justice, and Theatre. You shall also be known as the enforcer of the fates, to always uphold fate through your jurisdiction of Justice" He glowed an electric blue color, and went back to his throne. The fate followed with the other Olympian Gods. Hera got the domains of Family, Women, Marriage, and Childhood. Demeter gained the domains of The Harvest, Agriculture, and the Fertility of the Earth. Poseidon got the domains of The Sea, Earthquakes, and the title of the Father of Horses. Hades gained the domains of Riches underground, the Dead, and given the title 'The Judgement for the Wicked'.

And ultimately, there were only two left, Perseus and Hestia. Hestia was called up first and was given the domains of The Home, The Hearth, Architecture, Domesticity, Family, The State, and she gained the title of Protector of The Hearth.

Perseus was finally called to stand in front of The Fates and he kneeled unto the hard marble floor under the gaze of everyone present. The Fates started "Perseus son of Kronos and King of the Gods, You shall have the domains of Heroes, Ravens, Sacrifice, Dawn and Dusk, Swordsmanship, Nature and you are given the title of Patron of Mortals" Perseus glowed a strong forest green color with golden hues mixed in. He went back to his seat and The Fates finally finished with the domain ceremony had one more thing they had to do.

"As the Gods of Olympus you shall all connect your life force to the hearth which you surround what is now The Heart o Western Civilization and as long as it stands, Olympus stands" The fates waited for every Olympian to do it and then without further notice, they flashed out.

The Olympian Gods and their allies were breathless at the revelations that were thrown at them.

Perseus gained the attention of everyone before beginning. "I would think to divide up Gaia and assorted realms/domains between us would be wise, so I would gain the ground because of my domain, Zeus the sky, Hades the realm of the dead, and Poseidon the seas. That's fair right?" He looked meaningfully at his brothers. Zeus's and Poseidon's eyes lit up at the idea while Hades looked inquisitively at Perseus with narrowed eyes before his eyes showed a little amusement at his brother's power-grab while his other brothers remained oblivious. Hades approved of his second youngest brother, and he wouldn't have any objections about the arrangement.

Perseus's brothers nodded and they combined those titles to their already long lists of domains and titles. He mentally jubilated and made a victory dance in his mind, before calming himself down.

He and Demeter's eyes zoned in on each other's and she suddenly winked, Perseus's now knowing why he felt so connected to her felt his heart skipping a beat and a small smile spreading across his face.

'Maybe, just maybe power isn't everything' he thought himself while Zeus droned on about the genius idea or something like that, not that Perseus noticed because he only had eyes for one Olympian.

And while maybe the males and Hestia didn't notice anything, Hera's eyes narrowed looking from her brother to her sister with a dark look in her eyes and jealousy flashing over her features, before putting her stone mask back in place. Unnoticed by everyone was the pair of eyes focusing on Perseus from the guest thrones where the Titans silently sat, observing him.

End of Chapter

Dun, Dun, Dun who could it be?

'Percy' is still a long way from his AU-self, and he is still a power-hungry god so of course, he would nominate himself and his brother as co-rulers. I imagine the title of King of the Gods is a more honorary title than an actual monarchy. In this story, they will only be orators with veto rights having a very prestigious title, so they are eventually more like Roman co-consuls without elections and with a different title.

The Fates have also finally shown themselves and the Olympian Gods have now gained their Domains.

And Zeus's punishment was what I decided would be his reason for always being so subordinate towards them in every fanfic with them meeting, and considering his personality that in my mind at least doesn't make if he hasn't had a traumatic experience with them before so I incorporated it into here.

And Hera is already having bouts of jealousy with everyone she meets.
