Well it's been a year since the last update (Sorry about that we all know how crap things have been) but I'm finally back. truth be told I had most of this chapter written for the most part of last year but I lost about half of it when my computer randomly shut down before I saved it, so it's been a pain in the ass re-writing most of it but I did it... eventually.
as for the reviews finally coming in, thank you it means a lot to receive your thoughts on the story and I would like to address some of the reviews.
VK Fan: I understand that at this point in time they may seem like plot holes but I promise you they aren't. I just haven't done the explanation of them in the story yet. I plan to address at least the Kaname situation in the chapter after this with a conversation between 2 characters. as for the Shizuka situation that will be coming further in the story but I will give nothing away yet.
HonestOpinion: I understand where your comming from but it is still incorrect as even in the manga although it's only mentioned once it's made apparent that Kaname is Yuki's master as in night/chapter 41 Kaname says to Yuki "You know I have the power to force you to come with me." to which Yuki replies. "If you do. I will never forgive you." that is the only time we ever see any mention of Kaname being Yuki's master, and the only reason it is never brought up again is because Kaname refuses to hurt Yuki and he knows that doing that will hurt her more than anything else.
Lilibeth Vasquez: Sorry I live in Australia so Spanish isn't a very well known language here, but I did put the review into google translate and I think it got it right so thank you for your kind words. I'm happy you find the story fascinating, and don't worry I haven't abandoned it as you can see, and I'll try to make more regular occurring updates but I tend to get really busy (And I'm also a video game addict.) so it will probably take a little while. just know that if I ever abandon a story, it will be made known on the title card.

I Do Not Own Vampire Knight

The car pulled up to the gates of the academy when Yuki smiled at the fact that she had finally returned to the place that she called home after two and a half months of being stuck in the basement of her ancestral home. Juri had decided that it was time to return to the academy and that doing so a few days prior to the students returning would be best so they could settle in, while Yuki readjusts to walking under the sun, and sleeping when the moon is out.

Once the door's to the limo opened and the three of them stepped out both Juri wasn't a bit surprised Kaien wasn't there to greet them but Yuki knew something was suspicious and put her guard up to prepare for an ambush. Although Shizuka noticed the change in Yuki, Juri hadn't though and was taken completely by surprise when Kaien shouted "YUUUUKKKIII!" as he came running out of the bushes headed straight for Yuki who stepped out of the way well before Kaien made it to her causing him to run straight into the car. "Kaien! What are you doing." Juri asked in a concerned voice. "Honestly headmaster, surely you realise that, that trick won't work anymore right, it's too predictable" Yuki said as she scolded the now crying headmaster. "Wait this is something he does often?" Juri asked surprised and slightly angry over the actions of her old friend. "Yeah, whenever I've been gone for a while or something happens to me usually he attacks me with a hug so tight I can barely breathe." Yuki told Juri, who now understanding exactly what Kaien had been intending to do couldn't help but laugh at the situation. "And to think that the first time we met you tried to kill me; you really have changed haven't you Kaien." Juri said while looking tenderly at the headmaster who had gone from crying to sulking. "It's thanks to you that I changed in the first place." Kaien told Juri, as he stopped sulking and became filled with passion. "Alright I'm heading to the house." Yuki said wanting to get away before she gets sucked into the oncoming conversation with Shizuka following behind.

-Cross Academy-

"It's nice to be able to smell the fresh air again." Yuki said while inhaling. "Yes it was getting rather stuffy being cooped up in those underground rooms. I genuinely have no idea how you managed to live there for 6 years without going crazy." Shizuka said. "Well the underground rooms were all I ever knew from when I was born to when my memories were sealed away, and I was content just having my family with me, that was my world. Unlike me though you were forced to live in a cage for most of your life all the while knowing exactly what you were missing out on, It's no wonder you went insane." Yuki said with sadness in her voice. "Yes but thanks to you I'm free from that now, I just wish I could write all the wrongs I've committed." Shizuka said with pain touching her voice. "Shizuka… yes while you have done things that can never be taken back that doesn't mean you can't atone for them. Besides mother and I are here to help you do it." Yuki said, trying to lift Shizuka's spirit's. "You really are too kind aren't you." Shizuka said as she noticed Yuki wince with the first light of the sun. "Let's get to the building so we can get to bed." Shizuka said. "You mean so you can get to bed, Don't forget I have to stay up and get readjusted to being awake during the day." Yuki stated, with a strained smile.

As Yuki and Shizuka walked towards the old night class dorms Zero watched from the roof of the nearby building hearing their entire conversation he couldn't help but tighten his grip on the bloody rose. He had hoped to surprise and Kill Shizuka, but when he saw Yuki with her he found himself unable to move no matter how much he tried to, leaving him to hear the entire conversation. What made it worse though is that he could tell that they knew he was there. "Vampires." Zero cursed as he began to walk away. When he noticed he felt a tinge of pity for Shizuka while remembering something Yuki said. "You were forced to live in a cage for most of your life all the while knowing exactly what you were missing out on, it's no wonder you went insane." He quickly shoved that pity down though as he continued walking. "Yeah right like that changes anything."

-2 Days Later-

After a few days had passed, for the most part Yuki had become adjusted to the sun and she could walk through it with only minor issues. Staying awake during the day was proving to be an Issue. "Yuki, get up!" Juri called as she tore the covers off of Yuki's bed. "Five more minutes." Yuki whined as the covers lifted off the ground back on top of Yuki. "Shizuka can you help here?" Juri called getting annoyed with her daughter, while Shizuka stood at the door to her room laughing lightly. "It's not funny all the other students arrive today, and she needs to get up so she can get herself organised." Juri cried. "Alright, Alright. Wakeup." Shizuka commanded, and although Yuki tried to resist she knew it was futile once her aunt/master gave her a command and so she gave her mother and aunt a glare before sighing and finally sitting up. "It's only dawn the other students won't be arriving till midday. So I Could have slept in but nooooo, you have to get me up at first light what am I going to do for most of the day.." Yuki whined while yawning. "Well you still haven't fully adjusted to being awake during the day so too bad." Juri teased as Yuki got out of bed, and grabbed her toiletries, something to wear and a pair of scissors from one of her bags. "Fine, I guess I'll just find something to do until everyone begins to arrive." Yuki groaned as she began to move to the bathroom. "Wait what's with the scissors Yuki?" Juri asked curious as to why her daughter would need them. "Oh! When I was human I had short hair only reaching my neck, and given that it's only been two months my hair wouldn't have grown that much. So I was going to cut it back to a believable length." Yuki stated while growing weary of the scowl her mother now held. "And just how far up were you going to cut it?" Juri asked with a visible twitch now showing under her eye. "I'm not going to cut it too short, probably just below my shoulder blades it's where it would be with its natural growth, I don't intend to cut it again though, after all I know Kaname prefers it to be longer." Yuki said, noticing her mother's scowl subsiding. "Alright, just make sure you don't cut your hair too short anymore, because although it's a pain purebloods like us are expected to have long hair." Juri stated to Yuki a curious Yuki when Shizuka started to chuckle. "don't worry I'm sure your hair won't take long to grow out. After all your hair grows straight, unlike your mothers." Shizuka said while hiding her smile behind her sleeve, earning a glare from Juri. "Alright I'm going to go get ready take care, don't stay up too late." Yuki said quickly while moving to get out of the room before something bad happened.

-Cross Academy grounds-

After spending an hour getting ready and cutting her hair Yuki found herself wandering the Cross Academy grounds "What should I do? None of the students will be arriving till this afternoon and I don't have anything to keep myself busy." Yuki said aloud. 'I could always go to the Cross residence.' She thought, before she realised that wouldn't be the best idea with the threat of the chairman trying to hug her to dust always lurking. On top of that Zero was there and she wasn't ready to see him yet let alone have the conversation that she knew was coming. 'Maybe I could just spend some time with Kaname, after all I'm sure he would still be awake.' Yuki thought. All the night class students had arrived the night before the day class so they wouldn't be bombarded by the day class, the only issue is how she could get past the other night class students to get to his room. then it hit her she could take the balcony that way none of the aristocrats would see her and she highly doubted that they would brazenly barge into her brothers room without making themselves known before they tried to enter, and besides her and Kaname had spent almost no time alone together since she had awoken once she realised that her decision had been made, it was really an idea that she didn't even need to think as before she had noticed, she was already moving towards the moon dorms.

-Kaname's Bedroom-

Kaname sat on his lounge reading having finally finished his paperwork for the day when he was startled by a presence on his balcony, when he looked up and saw Yuki opening the door. "Good morning Yuki" Kaname said as Yuki closed the door behind her. "You can still sense me? well that's a problem." Yuki stated with a worried look on her face. "don't worry I only sensed you as you were walking in, and don't forget purebloods have better senses than aristocrats, so I'm sure no one else will notice. After All if they could sense you, do you really think we would be alone right now?" Kaname said easing Yuki's worries "regardless I'm surprised your awake this early." He said with a smile gracing his face. "Well I was going to sleep till 10 but mother had Shizuka command me to wake me up." Yuki complained. "Well if you want you can lie down on my lap and sleep for a bit if you like and I'll wake you up later." Kaname suggested as he motioned for Yuki to join him on the lounge. "No I think I'd rather talk besides it isn't like we get a lot of time for the both of us to spend together." Yuki said as she sat next to Kaname and rested her head on his shoulder. "Yes it is unfortunate, but you're technically still in hiding." Kaname said as he placed an arm around her. "I know but the few times where we are together mother and Shizuka always appear to be there as well." Yuki said with slight annoyance in her voice. "Well we're alone now is there something you wanted to do?" Kaname was both asking and insinuating, making Yuki's entire face turn bright red. "Pervert." Yuki called making Kaname chuckle. "I was simply teasing." Kaname chuckled as Yuki looked up at him pouting. "You cut your hair?" Kaname asked only really noticing when he went to grab a strand of it. "Yes it isn't as short as it was before, but I couldn't have it as long as I had it, humans can't grow their hair that fast after all., and it would draw attention to me if it had stayed at that length." Yuki said as she sighed "You're so beautiful that the attention would have been drawn to you anyway." Kaname stated, making Yuki blush a deep red. "Are you excited to return to classes tomorrow?" Kaname asked, he was surprised though when he saw a contemplative look on Yuki's face, telling him that she hadn't really thought about it. "It hadn't really crossed my mind, but I guess for the most part I'm excited even though I get the feeling there's going to be a lot of shock when everyone sees me. I mean after all, for the most part I look like a completely different person." Yuki finished whilst trying to hold back her giggling, but it died down quickly when she went into thought. "What is it?" Kaname asked. "It's Zero, I'm not really sure how things are going to go when I see him tomorrow." Kaname looked at Yuki slightly surprised. "You haven't seen him yet?" he asked. "No. too be honest I've been avoiding him; I don't really know what to talk to him about. Besides, he hasn't made any sort of effort to even try and make amends with Shizuka, and it's not like I want him to forgive her. I just want him to put his anger to rest so he can move on. So come tomorrow when I'm back on guardian duties I have no idea what I'll do." Kaname smiled whilst looking down at Yuki. "I know you want him to let go of his anger for us but don't forget he was raised as a hunter even before Shizuka turned him." Kaname said as he kissed Yuki's forehead. "I guess." Yuki responded. "Are you worried that he will pull his gun on you?" Kaname asked "No I don't think he would, and to be honest something tells me that if he did you and mother would rip his throat out with no hesitation." She giggled before a big yawn left her mouth as she began to struggle to keep her eyes open, not being able to keep herself awake.

"Yuki it's time to wake up." Kaname softly spoke in her ear trying to coax her awake when she groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. "When did I fall asleep?" Yuki asked while sitting up still half asleep. "A few hours ago, I thought it would be best to let you sleep though, I get the feeling you're going to have a very tiring day." He said to Yuki who was straightening the creases out of her skirt. "Yeah, I get the feeling your right." She said with slight annoyance in her voice. "Well I'm going to head off to so I can start organising things. Please try to get some sleep in the meantime, I know you need it." Yuki said as she gave Kaname a kiss on the cheek. "Wait." Kaname called. "Before you go I have something for you." Kaname said as he walked over to his desk and pulled out a small gift box which he handed to Yuki. When Yuki opened the box and saw its contents she froze. "ten years ago before you had lost your memories I made a promise to give this to you, do you know what it is?" Kaname asked Yuki who now had tears forming in her eyes. "Of course I do." Inside the box was a small blood red rose encased resin, which in turn was protected by a base and top made of silver. "It's a rare rose that blooms only once every ten years, you told me that it would wither if you picked it. so the next time it would bloom you would have it encased in resin." Yuki said smiling sadly at the memory of those happy times that were long gone. "Is everything okay?" Kaname asked, noticing the tears falling down her cheeks. "Of course it's more beautiful than I could have ever imagined it." Yuki said as she wiped the tears from her cheeks and this time kissing Kaname on the lips. "I'm just happy you remembered." Yuki said smiling like she used to, albeit with a few tears still stuck on her eyelashes. "I never forgot, and I still would have given it to you even if you didn't have your memories back." Kaname told Yuki as he brought her into a hug which she returned. After a few minutes they broke away. "Alright I should probably get going before people start arriving, so they don't notice me sneaking away from your dorm." Yuki said blushing at the thought of all the rumours that might start because of that kind of scenario. "Well then make sure you stay safe." Kaname said as Yuki walked to the balcony. "I'll try and also, you should try and get some sleep okay." Yuki said as she jumped from the balcony.

-Day Class Dormitories-

Yuki collapsed on her bed exhausted. It had taken her two hours to get everything set up in Yori's and her dorm room. Mostly because she had to make multiple trips between the old night class dorms and the day class dorms, and she had to move at human speed so she didn't scare any humans that might be arriving. After a minute or two of lying on her bed Yuki sighed because she knew she wasn't done, she still had to go get a new uniform because her old day class uniform didn't fit her anymore, in fact it wasn't until she tried it on a few days ago that she finally realised how much she had physically changed, she was taller to the point that the skirt had become a mini skirt and her body had developed to the point that the shirt and jacket were too small and she needed something that fit her better. So with a big groan Yuki pulled herself off of her bed and out the door.

By now however people had started arriving and Yuki couldn't help but feel them staring at her, which was making her feel self-conscious but what surprised her is that it seemed like almost none of them recognised her, had she really changed that much? She thought to herself as she kept walking until she was around the corner from the headmasters office, only stopping when she heard one of the voices coming from the office.

-Headmasters Office-

"Why are you letting her stay in the day class?" Zero asked the old hunter. "Well I don't see what the problem is." Kaien responded. "The problem! The problem is that she's a Vampire and pureblood at that, what happens if she loses control and bites someone." Zero shouted at the headmaster, "Now please Zero calm down. It wasn't an easy decision, but we have no choice, it's to protect Yuki." Kaien to a now confused Zero. "What do you mean it's to protect her, if she's a Kuran that means she's basically royalty, shouldn't she have a whole team of guards protecting her!" Zero retorted back, but was caught off guard when the door opened. "I don't have any guards because my existence isn't public knowledge, why do you think my mother was able to turn me into a human in the first place? she wanted to keep me safe." Yuki responded to Zeroes question entering the office. "OH MY BABY'S COME TO SEE HER DADDY" Kaien cried as he leapt over the desk trying to tackle Yuki with a hug only missing, as Yuki stepped to the side. "Sorry Headmaster, I'm not here for a visit, I've come to pick up my new uniform." Yuki said as Kaien managed to catch Yuki off guard with a hug. "Oh my darling daughter doesn't want to spend time with her father anymore!" Kaien said to an extremely uncomfortable Yuki who couldn't move, and after a minute of struggling to move an inch in Kaien's arms she pulled out her secret weapon. "What do you think Kaname will do, if you hug me to death headmaster?" Yuki asked rhetorically, although to her surprise it seemed to catch Kaien with just enough surprise that Yuki could get him off of her. "Good now could you please get my uniform for me? I would like to finish getting ready before Yori arrives at the dorms." it was at this time that she expected Zero to open up and say something about how dangerous it would be for Yori if she stayed there, but when she turned around to face where he was she noticed that he was gone. 'I guess he isn't ready to talk either.' she thought to herself.
