Preface: Well, this is it! The epilogue! Don't really have anything to say here, so let's just get to it!
The Boy, The Tiger, and The Heelers
A Calvin and Hobbes/Bluey Story by Alfred von Any
Epilogue:
Conclusions and Setups
[Character Selected: Bandit]
[Current World: Bonegea]
[Current Location: Brisbane, Australia]
[BGM: Asu01 - Relaxing Afternoon]
A week had passed since the terrifying events of Retro Griffin's invasion. Bandit had kept the adventure at the back of his mind, trying to forget it ever happened. Strangely, Bluey and Bingo did not seem to have been affected by it mentally - in fact, neither himself nor Chilli were experiencing any trauma, either. The Amnity really was looking out for them!
Now, however, as he and Chilli were quietly sitting in the living room, sipping their coffee, they heard a knock on the door. "Must be a package," Bandit thought aloud.
"I don't remember ordering anything," Chilli said, putting down her magazine. Curiously, the two went to the door and opened it. Sitting right on the doorstep was...a small box with a pink Post-It on it.
"Well, whatever it is, it must be tiny!" said Bandit. He bent down, picked up the package, and read the Post-It aloud.
"B + C,
Got visited by our future counterparts. They told us to leave you this Hypercube duplicate. It has duplicates of the Transmogrifier Gun, Time Stopper, Atomic Freezer, and Wormhole Digger, plus a note for Bluey and Bingo. Hold onto it - you're gonna need them eventually!
C + H"
Carefully opening the box, Bandit reached in and found what looked to be a Rubik's cube with a hole missing on the top and flashing sides. Reaching inside, he found a small toy drill. Pressing the button, it began to spin, opening a green portal out of thin air. "He sure wasn't kidding !" he said, impressed.
Chilli took the Hypercube and looked at it. "What do you think we should do with this?" she asked. The couple looked at each other and began to ponder what to do.
Eventually, they decided just to hide it in their closet for the time being, as a memento of their adventure. If the time comes when they need it, they would take it out. But for now, it was better not to disturb their lives again - especially not Bluey and Bingo's.
And yet, they did find a rolled-up slip of paper in the Hypercube. Bandit walked to Bluey and Bingo's room and found the two doodling. "What're you squirts drawing?" he asked, peeking over.
Bingo set down her crayon. "I drew us fighting Retro!" she said, holding up her photo of the family fighting the mad scientist with Calvin and Hobbes.
"And I drew me and Jean-Luc smoochy-kissing!" added Bluey. Sure enough, the blue heeler had drawn a picture of her and the French-Canadian labrador she met while camping enjoying a kiss as hearts protruded from them. "Do you think I can do it for real life if I see him again?" Bluey asked her dad. She did not forget the Amnity's directions to show her affection to Jean-Luc.
"Erm, maybe just on the cheek or something," responded Bandit. He really wasn't sure what else to say. "Anyway, you've got a letter from Calvin!" He held the paper in front of himself and read it aloud.
"Dear Bluey and Bingo,
Thanks to your unprecedented heroism after a traumatic experience and bravely coming to us in our moment of need, I am hereby giving you a pardon on behalf of President Hobbes. Henceforth, we shall not throw water balloons at you, steal your dolls, or otherwise torment you with malicious intent, and you are welcome to help us spy on our number one enemy, Susie Derkins, if you so choose.
Sincerely,
Calvin
Dictator-for-Life of the Get Rid Of Slimy girlS Club"
After Bandit finished the letter, Bluey just looked at her father in confusion. "What does that mean?" she asked.
"I think it means you're safe from the whole cooties thing," responded Bandit.
"Dad, what's cooties?' Bingo inquired.
"Some kind of girl-germs, basically." But then Bandit realized he made a mistake by saying that as Bluey and Bingo dropped their drawings and got devious looks on their faces. "Oh, biscuits!"
"Dad has cooties!" the two girls shouted as they tackled him to the ground and began to poke his body. Quickly, Bandit got up and ran away, trying to escape the cooties. "Let's get every boy on the block!" declared Bluey.
"No boy left behind!" Bingo said, deviously wiggling her fingers.

Calvin and Hobbes sat in front of the TV as Calvin munched on some Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs. With a new MTM add-on, they were now watching some of Calvin's favorite Saturday-morning cartoons, even though they weren't on at the time.
Calvin began laughing his head off. "Oh, man! That never gets old!" he shouted, trying to catch his breath. "And to think we have the whole rest of the week to do this!"
Suddenly, Hobbes jumped. He heard footsteps. Familiar footsteps. "Um, I think our fun's over!" he said.
"Calvin?" the boy heard his dad say. "Are you really gonna squander your spring break watching these cartoons?"
"Um...no?"
"Well, that's good. But not much longer. It's a beautiful day outside."
And so, as soon as Calvin finished his cereal, the two friends went outside to relax under the tree. "He's actually right," said Calvin. "It is a beautiful day out!"
"Well, now that you're done with that stuff our future selves wanted us to do," said Hobbes, "how do you wanna spend the rest of the break?"
Calvin shrugged. "I dunno, but as long as you're with me, buddy, I don't care."
Hobbes pulled Calvin in for a one-sided hug, and the two watched the scenery for a while. The birds were chirping, flowers were blooming, and the sun was beating down on them. Spring had finally sprung. "You're not thinking about retiring from GROSS, are you?" the tiger suddenly asked. "After how Bluey and Bingo helped us?"
"Well, they are pretty cool for girls," Calvin responded. "Maybe I'll keep GROSS around a little while longer, though. I've grown pretty attached to it. Besides, it's how me and Susie acknowledge each other." He paused. "Well, outside of school and keeping her safe from Moe or more aliens." Turning to his side, he saw Hobbes began to snicker. "Something funny, fuzzface?"
"You said you like acknowledging Susie!" the tiger teased.
"What? No, I didn't!"
"Yes, you did!"
"No, I didn't, you liar!"
"Oh, come on! Admit it! You like her!"
"NEVER!"

Postface: Story complete! Honestly, this story was a fun one to write. I feel like all of my stories have an aspect of them that makes them unique, and the inclusion of Calvin and Hobbes in this one is this story's defining factor.
Now then, there's a bit of foreshadowing in this epilogue. For one, Bandit and Chilli now have duplicates of the inventions that they used. Will they ever need them, like what Calvin and Hobbes' future selves said? And speaking of which, what else did they instruct their present selves to do? I guess we'll find out soon enough. And if you've read my other Bluey works, you may have noticed the small Bluey x Jean-Luc reference - why am I continuously referencing this ship? Once again, keep reading...
That should be it! Please read, review, and share around, and I'll see you all next time for my next Bluey-themed project: Blue Dreams! Stay diamond, everyone, and remember: flowers may bloom again, but a person never has a chance to be young again.
Oh, and remember to check for ticks, too.
